Hello everyone ..I have a big request of someone that can modifiy a rom or something like that,. I have a very frustrating client that he wants like stock rom theme or same menu but camera with zoom (for camera and video) and without that border (like android 1.6) I don't know why they have that border on camera with update ... where i find a good camera is on gingeryoshi(awesome rom in my opinion) but the client cannot handle the menu and he want's stock menu .Can someone explain how to do it? Or someone can implement that camera in stock rom ?Thanks in advance!
If you have a copy of this stock ROM that has the camera he wants just unzip the ROM and remove the .apk, then push it to phone and install.

If i change betwen roms ...i had signature error
Download an aosp ROM to PC, unzip it with 7zip or whatever, look in romname/system/app for the apk you want (may be called gallery in older ROMs, Can't recall of hand) now either use adb to push it to /system/app and then chmod permissions or push it to SD card and navigate to it with a file manager and let android install it for you. Should work just fine either way

It seems I can't flash to 2.3.1 GRH78 because I get "assert failed apply_patch mms.apk" while applying zip through recovery.
I am using rootboot.img from koush.
The mms.apk is the custom app w/black background.i think the update is trying to patch the original mms.apk and failing.
Has anyone encountered this issue? Can someone post original mms.apk
Thanks

Sounds like the same issue I'm having.I'm now using dark gmail and I'm guessing u r not using the modified mms.apk

I ran into the same problem earlier today. I used the mms.apk from Cyanogenmod to try and fix my blurry MMS issues.
I think I'm just going to flash Paul's ROM tomorrow when he includes the OTA.
Here you are!
I had the same problem too with the black Mms.apk. So, I reverted back to the stock Mms from Supercurio's system dump, then, I just used adb to push it and solved my problem.
Well, looks like it's easier to find the Mms.apk ^^^^

I can't seem to install the stock mms.apk.
adb install attached Mms.apk
I get "Failure [INSTALL_FAILED_INSUFFICIENT_STORAGE]" I have more than enough storage.
I also tried doing adb install Mms.apk and I get
"Failure [INSTALL_FAILED_DEXOPT]"
Any ideas?
I also tried to to push to /system/app and reboot but that didn't work. Does it have to do with me missing Mms.odex file?
Another way is to used Root Explorer or DDMS File Explorer in Eclipse. I've included a screen shot. If you don't already have Eclipse setup you can find How too - HERE to setup.
Wipe and flash Paul's gingerbread ROM and then push black mms and gmail again. You don't lose root, you get 2.3.1 and a few other goodies like ext4 performance tweak
.
I'll try that .
i ended up flashing the stock nandroid with 2.3.1 , rooting and keeping the regular mms and gmail.
Thanks

I just added paul's Rom. Wow, it flies!
I was a bit hesitant to add a custom mod with the nexus s because it's already fast n gingerbread is nice on top of the fact that I was tired of Rom a week.
But thanks it's awesome

thanks bro, how do you remove the default camera software because it wont allow me to get rid of it, plus the file i downloaded from you wont install over the default file! My camera is weird though, the rear camera doesnt show anything, but when i change camera to the front camera, it actually projects the image! Do you think, maybe the camera is laters? Thanks alot!
I got camera problems with some Ginger Roms here such like CM7, MIUI ... So I'm waiting their fixes ...

Hello,
It it possible to install the original camera.apk from JVR to CyanogenMod 7?
I don't find any camera app which is comparable with the app of Samsung.
Sadly not, but the miui camera isn't too bad for video and zoom fx usa good for stills

Thank you for the answer,
where I can get the right and latest miuicamera.apk, I tested a lot of them by putting the miuicamera.apk into system/app. But it doesn't work, I can't see it in the Appdrawer.
that´s exactly the problem I have. putting the miui camera.apk to /system/app did not work.

I think it doesn't work like that, I've previously erased my camera app from the stock froyo ROM, then I tried to install it again and wont install, even the backup didnt work.

well....u cannot use the LGHome as a standalone. it has dependencies.
as of the camera problem, it is strange!!!...btw, hope u placed it in /system/app and changed the permission 2 644, then rebooted. also, u should have both the .apk and the .odex file replaced with 644 permission. it SHOULD have worked.

This works if you *do not* uninstall the old camera first. If you remove it via Titanium Backup (like he most likely did), it won't work. Putting the file back in place won't help at all, and you need to reflash the rom to get the camera back. Simply replacing the file is a different matter, and this would in fact work.
No to reinstall the camara to just copy it back to sys/app folder mount and install using root explorer.
As for the lghome if you could just post it anyway id appreciate it.

i like some of the other roms out here, like the dirty unicorns rom and the bean stalk rom but i cant stand the cameras is there any way to get a stock camera app or something close to that?
You can try this. I am running this on CM12 - Resurrection Remix LP v5.2.6 and its working good.
Taken from another post by bender(#2):
1. flash this: File 1 through recovery.
2. set it up..you can't set it up later..set up flash, focus, size etc..
3- install this: File 2 overwrite original app.
that's it
it you want to set it up later you have to "downgrade" it from app settings, then re-install using file from step# 3.

After you flash the ROM you want, boot into the OS. And install the APK I posted above.
I am found another cameras mod based on LG stock camera, it was posted yesterday. I have not tested it yet. This one you will have to flash using recovery.
