Since upgrading to Kitkat (4.4.2), the HTC One default text messaging app switched from GSM to the Unicode alphabet. Is there any way to switch it back to the GSM alphabet for emoticon support? I'm running stock Android 4.4.2 with HTC Sense 6.0.
When using emoticons in the Unicode format, the max character limit per message changes from 160 to 70 characters. I'd rather just use the old emoticon support and get the max 160 characters per text message.

In the sms settings you can change the font size. But outgoing SMS writing letters does not change. Is the smallest size. Unresponsive to change. And I also want a larger font in the environment Senec, sms messages on the tab where I can see new incoming messages. I have the phone in the Czech language. Please advice. Thanks WM6.5 CZ, Senze 2.5
Translated by Google, I do not know English.
I have only what is the problem.
Go to registry under HKCU\Software\HTC\Manila and see if you have a setting for text size.
I'm noticing that one quite prominent set of Unicode characters missing from the built in Droid Sans font is the International Phonetic Alphabet. For example look at the article:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Urumqi
and look at the IPA for the English pronunciation: /uːˈruːmtʃi/
On my N1 and Milestone, the symbol between : and r is a box, and the symbol between t and i is also a box. I have a linguistics background so these symbols actually have meaning to me and I'd like to be able to read them on the go.
You'll see that there are some other symbols on that same page which appear as boxes. The same page viewed on my iPod Touch displays *all* of the Unicode characters. In particular the Arabic-derived symbols in the Uyghur language look awful on Android.
Is there anything I can do my rooted N1 to get full Unicode in IPA and all imaginable languages? Has anyone had any success with this?
I just updated my SGS to stock gingerbread.
Now I realised that my dialer will have separators (i.e. "-") added automatically to the numbers.
For example, 6123456789 will now become 612-345-6789.
How could I get ride of the separators?
Where do you see these seperators?, I've checked mine and I just have the normal unbroken string of numbers.
it is in the dialer...
which country/region do you set to? I am using English (US).
Hi, I'm using androids default HTC Sense Input 6 keyboard with predictive text and it's so frustrating. There are so many nonsense words suggested in predictive text and only half the time when I need "me" or "no" do they appear, among other 2 letter words - and these words can't be added to the personal dictionary. And then there's the automatic [space] after every selection!! Is it possible to decompile and add words and then re install? Would it be the HTC Sense Input apk or a language pack?

Hi, I'm the new owner of One M7 and it bothers me that the keyboard lacks the classical of the nicer smilies sense 5 (or 4 +) and in sense 6 there are ugly, but what is worse that when I use it as my sms message of 160 characters will be shortened to 70 characters.
Is some way to get it back smilies of sense 5?
Sorry for my English.
Any help is highly appreciated.
I found that some beneficiaries Smilies do not display or appear cube.
Please help, is there any way to change smilies in the default application?
Are you talking about smilies or Emoji
My point is that those who are in a sense 6 see: (ausdroid.net/wp-content/uploads/2013/10/image_3.png) shorten sms to 70 characters, but these see: (3.bp.blogspot.com/-Rw4nmyD8Gt0/ULSMH3baCwI/AAAAAAAAJ6A/Tkfdcw0B9uM/s1600/2012-11-27_14-40-02.png) which were
in the sense 4 + and 5 are functioning normally and these would like wanted to return if it goes?
no one has any advice?
