Hi guys,
I'm afraid my original micro usb cable is lost, so I can't charge my nook color.
Any one have a spare one that can sell me? I'll pay the shipping costs to Brazil too, of course.
Or can any one point me to a reputable ebay seller?
Thanks!

I am able to charge my Nook color with my LG phone charger. It has the standard
micro usb connector. Model number: STA-U34WDI output: .7A
My wife's Samsung Nexus charger also works, it charges much faster. Model: GB4943-2001 output: 2A

Some charger could, but be careful. When your Nook Color is on low battery (lower than 15% of battery), it will stuck at "Battery too low to power on" because that cable charges but slower than the original Nook cable.
I'm using this Nokia's cable with no problem:
Attachment
When my Nook Color says "Battery too low to power on", I just plug it into my laptop (connect via USB) and it will boot ok after 45 minutes.

So our A7's need an AC Adapter that is 19V 1.57A 30W. Anyone had any luck finding a spare?
Netbook Adaptor
My dell mini 10 and acer netbook ac adapters work fine. Same voltage, amps and plug.

Cool thanks do you have part numbers?
Here's the Dell. It's pricey at $49.99.
Manufacturer Part# : 313JX
Dell Part# : 330-9808
My Acer is at work. But here's an adapter at Amazon for only $9.95 that's for the same model (D250).
I also found a DC (Car) charger for only $6 ($11 w/shipping) on Amazon. I ordered it.

Depends on your luck, you may be able to buy Kensington netbook AC adapter for as low as $15 (Acer D tip included).

Wow, I bought that car charger for my sisters Acer netbook. So, you say it will work with my A7. I am in no way an electrical engineer. If the A7 requires 1.57A and the car adapter output is 1.6A is there any issue with this 0.03A difference?
The current (Amp) is not the issue. It is the voltage that is more critical - needs to be 19 Volts. As long as your charger can put out the same or more A it will charge the unit, if it had less A, it would still charge but get hotter and take longer to charge.

So if I have a charger with higher A and higher voltage than the a7 requires, is it safe to use it? (Specifically an extra laptop charger.) The adapter looks exactly the same, and fits correctly (I've only tried it with the charger unplugged). Any advice you could offer would be great! Thanks!
Higher amps yes but higher volts no.Think of it this way,Volts is the amount of electricity that the charger puts out and the amps is the strength that it pushes it out.So to many volts is bad but extra amps.means that it should charge faster and not get as hot or warm as usual. Hope this helps.
I tried using the charger from my Acer AspireOne netbook (HacBook Mini ) last night.
Same voltage, same amperage. But when I took the tablet out of sleep mode this morning it was only showing 50% charge. Restarting it made it show 99%. Don't know if it was something to do with using the netbook charger, or something to do with an eLocity glitch, or something to do with a eLocityMod1.3 glitch... To many options to blame it on lol

Thanks, good to know that I am not doing damage to it with the other charger
Mine is the same way and Im running Dexter's 1.3.
I also have a car charger for it that works the same way,its nice to have a way to charge in your car if your out for awhile.
I have used the Radioshack Enercell netbook power supply and it works perfectly. Product number :273-0407. a bit preicey at 59.99 but i know its safe
As the dell mini 9 uses the same charger,
I purchase the car charger for the mini 9 and works fine,

Under $20,
or under $10 if its a universal charger
Where can I buy a stock nook color cable? I want just the cable not the full charger. I looked on ebay and couldn't find it.

This will charge it but it will be slow. Notice how the mini head is shorter than the stock Nook cable. The longer head on the OEM BN allows more current.
Just walk into Barnes and Noble and pick one up.
Much faster then ordering it from them online.

Is it on the Best Buy website? I searched for nook color and only the device and a few cases came up. If you find it on the site can you link it here please
I bent the MicroUSB tip of my included Nook Color cable
So, I am currently using the charger that came with my Nexus One to get a charge, and I'm using standard USB-MicroUSB cables to do ADB and file transfers. The higher the amps output of the AC adapter (closer to the stock Nook charger) the faster it "should" charge.
With that in mind, I have searched DealExtreme (free shipping) and found the highest rated amps output charger there is this (there is a comment on the page though, that says someone is using that charger with a Nexus One and he feels it is slower than the stock charger):

Cheap $1 charger that says 1amp output but with no protection from overcurrent. Im no electrical engineer but ive had these cheap generic chargers blow up my phones before. The Note already suffers from a weak USB board.
I try to stick to an oem charger rated at same output.
Point is i will not let a $1 accessory near my $700 device. I hate Apple and the fact no accessories work with their devices. But the flip side to that, "this accessory is not made for your Apple product," is cheap generic accessories arent accounting for warranty exchanges.
My Notes dont seem to like cheap microusb cables either. I have one in particular that will put phones in MTP mode when connected.
depends on the output of the chargers
Hello all , recently my usb cable broke and i dont want to pay $26 for one. Ive called b&n but my nc isnt on warranty anymore so i cant get a replacement ive looked on ebay but wasnt to convinced. Has any of you bought a cheap one that really works or is willing to sell one pls let me know.. thank you..

Search ADP-H01. Due to the same proprietary nature of the NC's charging cable that causes it to break so easily in the first place, about $20 is the best you are gonna get from any seller you can trust.
Hi, nook color cables on eBay. Around $7 and free shipping.

I have tried two cheap off brand cables that advertised they were designed for the nook color. They were simply microUSB cables and charged but very slowly. I bought the bullet and get an authentic one from B&N and now it charges so much faster.
Just bought one of these on ebay for $3.63, free shipping. Will give a report on its performance when it arrives.

Sorry to burst your bubble before it comes, but there's one things on the page that is a dead giveaway of it's authenticity:
Compatible With
Amazon: Kindle 2, Kindle 3 / Wi-Fi / 3G + Wi-Fi, Kindle DX
Barnes & Noble: Nook, Nook Color
BlackBerry: etc...

If it's compatible with ALL of these, then it's only a micro usb cable, not the proprietary one shipped with the Nook Color.

It isn't a generic USB cable, as it has a transformer on the micro USB end and says it's a dual USB / charger cable. It probably won't charge as fast as the OEM cable, but it's better than nothing.

Yesterday, my Micro USB broke. I could tell after I had my phone plugged in for an hour and it only charged 15% and when i plugged it in again the cable was loose and the slow charging message popped up.
What are the best USB cables that are cheap? Amazon/eBay
What are you using?
Thanks

I was looking for a small one with free shipping. I'm currently using an old Moto one and where it plugs in its way bigger than the HTC. I'd get another HTC one but they aren't real on Amazon and have bad reviews

I'm worried about the size of the end of the cable. The HTC ones are way smaller, here's a photo next to an old Motorola one.
