[Q] Xperia TL LTE Band Questions - Sony Xperia T, TL, TX, V

Hello All,
I got a Xperia TL (LT30AT) with original AT&T ICS (4.0.4) on it, I want flash it with JB 4.3 LT30P Rom, according to other threads I need exclude the baseband in order to keep LTE, so quick questions:
1.- Do I need to first flash it with AT&T JB 4.1.2 first in order to have the latest LTE baseband? or is OK to flash it from 4.0.4 to 4.3 with baseband excluded?
2.- Why the we need to exclude the baseband when flashing this phone with LT30p firmware?, as far as I understand the LTE capability is hardware related, if you flash lt30p with lt30at rom you must not gain LTE, so why flashing lt30at with lt30p rom lose LTE option?
Regards!

You answered your own question about the flashing lt30at with a lt30p. So the baseband holds all the drivers/code for the phone.
The best example I can give you is the ps3, sure all the hardware and the boards are the same, but there are slight differences in the chipset, this means that old software from a old ps3 won't work on a new ps3 model, hence a min version downgrade that can be performed.
The same sort of applies here, because of the slight differences in the chipset you can't use a baseband from one on the other.
"To give up is a sign of your weaknesses, but to keep going is a sign of madness"

thanks dude,
but regarding question 1, do JB AT&T hold new baseband version?, or I can go straight to 4.3 from LT30p?

If I were you, I would flash baseband from 9.2.A.0.295 Bell Canada, that is android 4.3
which you can find here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2648320

but LT30a has additional bands that LT30at does not:
4G Network
LT30at - (BC4) 1700 MHz, (BC17) 700 MHz,
LT30a - (BC2) 1900 MHz, (BC4) 1700 MHz, (BC5) 850 MHz, (BC17) 700 MHz
or does not matter?

Good question, I didn't know that.
LT30at is a different phone technically?
Anyway you can flash 4.1.2 baseband for the moment, I know it works.

Hello dude, thanks for the thread I will follow that guide, and yes LT30at is a unique version released in US only for AT&T specific lte networks,
Also there is a little issue in your firmware compilation thread, lt30at = xperia TL, lt30a = xperia T, you can see the white papers on sony website
Xperia T (LT30p) White Paper
Xperia T (LT30a) White Paper
Xperia TL (LT30at) White Paper
Also you can add the only 2 firmwares that were released to the lt30at to your list they are ATT US branded:
ICS (1264-5716) LT30at_7.0.B.1.152_ATT.zip
JB (1264-5716) LT30at_9.1.F.1.120_ATT.zip, this links were updated by XDA user spectre51

[Solved] Help at rooting Xperia T. Details below

Hello.
(First, English is not my native language, sorry for mistakes : I'm french)
(Second, I'm new, but not newb, and love your "Noob at Xda forum" video.)
1 years ago, I bought a Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc, and thanks to your genius, rooted it and flashed it with stock rom.
Today (Yes, few hours ago!) I bought a brand new Sony Xperia T !
So, I took a look at different thread on how to root it.
But, I'm lost.
There's so many thread, so many different ways, and so many different version.
I require your help on this.
Require : Help on how to Root (And maybe flash my phone to have clean rom ? (Without Operator app?))
Data : Sony Xperia T LT30p
Android 4.0.4
7.0.A.1.303
Sony Live Companion ask me for 7.0.A.3.195 update

Cannot unlock Bootloader.

And so on ...
Some thread require unlocked bootloader, some does not work on new version.
My search has failed, that's why I posted here.
Thanks in advance.
Are you sure you read the first 3 posts of the all in one thread properly?
Because the answers you are looking for are there.
Look in post 2 of the all in one thread on how to flash stock firmware
Look in post 3 of the all in one thread to fins the stock firmware files
Look in post 2 of the all in one thread for how to root on 7.0.a.1.303 (Your current firmware)
Look in post 2 of the all in one thread for how to root the latest (7.0.A.3.195) by unlocking your bootloader and flashing a custom kernel.
It is impossible by any means to root the xperia T on the new firmware unless you unlock the bootloader

This is why I required help. (after reading theses threads)
So, should I root on 7.0.A.1.303(current version) and not upgrading ?
Should I flash .1.303 clean Rom, then root and not upgrading ?
(P.S : I almost had trouble with my Arc (almost brick) previously. I did SEUS update, and then read on how to root it. With the actual rooting method, there were trouble with battery (0%). I had to wait for a new root method to come.
This time, I prefer to ask since I don't see any way to do it.)
Thanks.

Yes, if you cannot unlock the bootloader then stay on 7.0.A.1.303 and root using bin4ry's method and DO NOT upgrade.
Its up to you if you want to flash another 7.0.A.1.303 firmware file before you do this.
Alright.
Thanks to you then (Pushed thanks button).
I will try this.
I only whish I could unlock the bootloader

You just learnt it the hard way. Either a) lay out the cash for a "free" phone from a "free" store or b) switch carriers to some less arsed carrier than the all over the world hated orange. Orange is what Vodafone used to be, ruining devices like the plague in medieval times.

You must decide on your own, which firmware you want. Basically they're all the same. Just don't go above .1.303 as you wouldn't be able to root it without the ability to unlock. It may be possible at some point, but a new exploit for 3.195 and above must first be found.

TL != T
Don't flash TL and TX ROMs, boy, you've got a T.
Europe != USA (thankfully)
AFAIK 4G isn't deployed in Europe yet. Neither is it in the USA but americans (partially) call something 4G which actually isn't 4G but simply HSPA or HSPA+. Some carrier does have 4G (LTE) but they already called HSPA/HSPA+ 4G which technically was 3.5G. Or so.
Alright.
Thank you for your help.
Actually, as you said, I have HSPA+ (3G+) (or LTE?)
( Well, With Orange (which seems to fit you perfectly), I had this phone for 1€.
Basically, I will pay 545€ for 1year with this phone (500€) + 6 months of Everything unlimited + 6month of 2hours call + everyhting unlimited.)
Anyway, in my Country, there is no "Good" Operator
Every single one are the same, except for the price.
Thank you for the tip, will mark this thread as solved.
HSPA/HSPA+ is an extension to UMTS. UMTS is considered a 3rd generation mobile telecommunication technology (3G), so HSPA/HSPA+ would be 3.5G if you wish.
LTE, Long Term Evolution is the next step upwards from UMTS and marketed as 4G (although technically not meeting the defined characteristics of a 4th generation mobile telecommunication technology). Whereas UMTS/HSPA/HSPA+ is widely deployed in Europe, LTE is not. LTE is an emerging technology and only a very small number of carriers worldwide (!) have set up an LTE network.
Anyway, you got an XPERIA T, TX or TL? Only TL features LTE, hence TL. If you got an XPERIA T, no, you have not got LTE but HSPA+ which the T is capable of.
Readup:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UMTS
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/High_Speed_Packet_Access
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Evolved_HSPA
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LTE_(telecommunication)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/3G
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/4G (especially interesting http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/4G#Deployment_plans)
Allright.
My phone is Xperia T (France) with 3G+ (Or H+, as Orange like to say)
I did not know what was meaning LTE (Now I know, thanks to you ).
I flashed with .1.303 Generic, and rooted (thanks to Bin4ry).
Everything worked as intended (except smarttags and alarms ; I made a post about this).
Thank you for your patience and your wisdom

[Q] Bell Xperia Z C6616

Hello
Just wondering if everyone on bell with an Xperia z (c6616) is still only on 4.1.2
or if i am just not getting any updates, i see a lot of others like C6603 getting updates, i assume it could just be taking some time in canada.
Thanks
You can flash any other region's 4.2.2 ftf with flashtool. The only difference really is the bands supported. If you really wanted to, you can not flash the radio and just flash the rom, as long as it's C6603

[Q] loss of gsm signal

Hi guys, please I need some help with my xperia z, it presently does not get any network regardless of changing sim. Dis occurred few days after upgrading to newest firmware .67. It worked fine after some days but signal started gettin poorer.realised dat after givin the phone a little bump it comes back to full signal.eventually it stopped getting network altogether, except in rare cases when I feel I'm close to a tower , it searches but cannot register on the network sayin to ensure that a network signal is in range 99asu.I also cannot switch to manual select of network. Please anybody with a solution. Want to know if its a hardware or software problem. I don't have a sony service centre here that can help me.thanks
I had a similar issue and found that my "APN" was missing (Telcel Mexico). I created a new APN from information on the Internet and all is well.

What model do you have??
You upgraded by PC Companion or by flashtool?? Maybe the baseband is incorrect and the phone don't have signal, maybe your carrier use two band and not both are in all coverage.

Initially upgraded to .434 using flashtool, then .67 by OTA. By baseband do u mean 2g and 3g? Cos I don't get any form of signal at all.
Hi there, I have had the same problem: after updating the XZ to 4.2.2 (2.67 over OTA) the signal dropped instantly. Therefore I had to send it back Sony Care. They fixed it. The update has overwritten a different smallband/baseband-version above the other one, just as I suspected. I bet you can flash it yourself (your an XDA user..) instead of waiting 2 weeks or more. If you don't know how it works and you've absolutely no experience with flashing, just send it back to Sony care.
I think the easiest way is to flash a different (older) baseband-version on your XZ, reboot/factory reset and see if it works. The second method is to try downgrading the software to .244 INCLUDING the baseband-version, then update it by flashing the XZ to 2.67 while EXCLUDING the baseband-version. The third option is to re-flash (with flashtool) the 2.67 update but a different version (GLOBAL).
My phone details:
Modelnumber: C6603
Android-version: 4.2.2
Smallbandversion: 9x15A-ACEFWMAZQ-30110068-44
Kernelversion: 3.4.0g43a9ba9
Buildnumber: 10.3.1.A.2.67
Altough your smallband/baseband may differ from mine. Therefore, please find your own software-version. I'm using:
GLOBAL-LTE_10.3.1.A.2.67 (Netherlands)
Goodluck! Please let us know about your issue:fingers-crossed:.

But what Xperia Z model do you have?? C6603, C6602, C6606??
I have a similar situation in the case of C6603, in my carrier sometimes I have 2G signal but never 3G and other times no signal. In the case of OTA or PC Companion updates, sometimes upgrade to diferent model or carrier, I have a friend that upgrade his Xperia Arc by PC Companion but with the uncarrier firmware. Maybe this is your case, the OTA firmware don't well upgrade your base band.
In this case I suppose that you can flash only the baseband by Flashtool, but be carreful that the firmware was made for your Xperia Z (C6603, C6602, C6606).

Try to flash full firmware, because you don't have signal at all, maybe could be hardware issue. Cultural question, You try your sim card in another phone, don't you?
Okay I eventually found out what the problem was.it's a hardware problem, connection of the antenna near the vibrator, bottom right when lookin at back of phone was loose.thanks to all who posted suggestions.eventually opened it myself.

Problem with 3g and band operator?

Hey guys, i need help please!!!!!
I´ve changed of cell operator ,and now my 3g doesn´t work with android 4.3, but when i came back to android 4.2.2, it does. I have a xperia Z C6603
I think that i have a problem with baseband, because the company use 1900 band , and , i don't have that baseband.
maybe the 4.2.2 version have that band?
Are there a way to integrated that band on my smartphone with android 4.3 because i need that version , i dont want the old one , please
The C6603 definitely has the GSM 1900 band whichever firmware you're using. I'm on an unbranded 4.3 firmware and I have it.
To check, enter *#*#7378423#*#* in the dialler, then look in Service info - Configuration.
I would check your APN settings if you haven't already, or try downloading them through Settings - Wireless and networks - Internet settings.

Firmware 4.3 for Xperia TL Lt30at?

Hi guys, I in Vietnam and I have a Xperia TL Lt30at, I bought it from a store in my country, now I want to upgrade firmware 4.3 for my phone. But I don't know what firmware for it, as I search, that just has firmware 4.3 for Xperia T/TX. I just wondering my phone can read my sim, can use gsm and 3G in my country, so is that unlocked? If it was unlocked, can I use it as every Xperia T (Lt30p) other and up every firmware as Lt30p?
Sorry for my bad english
Hello. I am also using Xperia TL. I can answer your questions :
1) TL can use any rom of Xperia T, not TX made for looked bootloader.
2) You can test your phone with Vietnamese mobile network. If it doesn't run, you should ask your seller to unlock network for you.

Had you used search before posting, you would have found my guide on upgrading LT30at to 4.3. LT30p and LT30a/t are the same devices. The only difference is that that a devices have LTE radios in them. Since you use only 3G network, you don't need to worry about basebands.

PureXT is based on stock. Sony no longer upgrades software for its at&t devices, so you have to use stock-based custom ROMs if you want to be up to date.

So if I just use 3G network, I can flash firmware via flashtool normally? But can you help me to know which firmware can flash from the list in above ?

Let me get this right:
- you own LT30at: Xperia TL with USA at&t branding, not Rogers from Canada, which is LT30a
- you live in Viet Nam and you don't have 4G/LTE network where you live
- you want to upgrade the firmware to 4.3 and keep all native Sony features
All you have to do is follow my guide. There is no 4.3 coming for LT30at via Sony Update Service.
"ROM cook" stuff doesn't mess up your device because it's basically the stock ROM with some APKs added/changed. I don't know why you worry about losing at&t branding - it's absolutely useless to you since you aren't in the USA.
Moreover, flashing using the flashtool, you will lose all of your apps, settings, and root access. If you are fine with that, then do go ahead and pick any TFT firmware for T or TL from the list and then flash it.

I'm worried a little that you misunderstood something we had said. Please verify everything with Vietnamese resources.

If I don't need to keep apps, settings and LTE, can I follow the instruction in DaRk-L0rD's post?
@kulomo: You can either follow DaRk-L0rD's instructions or just flash an FTF using Flashtool.

Why are you even trying to unlock the boatload? You need to root the phone not unlock the bootloader. Just follow the instructions.
