just connect to flashtool and recover or if can't be recognized then try with PC Companion else reinstall rom or restore backup with recovery

Ok you flash something but WHAT?
All i know that you have 11W16 and you can't hard brick that(unless you are really..... )
Anyway let's help you out
First of all,how many % did your battery have before flashing?
If under 10% then try to connect the charger
if it done't help keep reading
What did you do with flashtool--->FLASHING or UNLOCKING BOOTLOADER?
If FLASHING: What did you flash, please write down name of file
If UNLOCKING BOOTLOADER:
Try to turn on you phone--->If it won't turn on---->try to connect it to PC in flashmode so FLASHTOOL can recognize it
If FLASHTOOL can't recognize it try with PCC.....if that doesn't work either see does your phone have any Signs of life
If you'r phone is completly dead(no sign of life) than it's probably a HARD BRICK
I hope i helped :good:
big THANKS

First of all THANKS A LOT for your effort, I mean: really THANKS!!!
So let me tell you a story
It was my forth x8 phone that I've tried to install CM9 on and previously it went very well but yesterday I've did it in a hurry and forget to change the flash file on the flash tool and when I click on the magic button with the flash sign I've realized that the x8 was flashed with x10 firmware the default firmware on the flashtool program (really stupid mistake ). After that the phone turn off and went on haven.
After I cold my head and start to search for new x8 (to replace the broken one) I've realized that the phone has 24 month warranty and the first thing that I did this morning was to return the phone to the shop that was bot from.
I hope that some of you out there had 5 min lol session from my experience in the story, and please, If somebody else thinks that he knows how to do it without reading the manual - this are the consequences!!!
The only way to bring this phone alive is with riff jtag box that I didn't have.
P.S. **** happens
Yes a few people from forum flashed wrong firmware and got hard bricked....amm it's hard brick so they will replace your motherboard
I am glad to help
hello guys im new to sony, and got my xperia sp just 1 week ago!
here's what i did.
1. rooted using towelroot
2. installed super su from play store
3. installed twrp with a tool,
4. copied xperianzev3 and gapps to sd card
5. backup
6. did wipes and flashed rom and gapps via twrp
everything went fine and the rom was good,
i was stupid enough to boot into recovery and restore the backup i made( boot.img also)
still the phone was working but gapps were crashing repeatedly!
so i booted into recovery but there was no recovery! i installed the recovery again with the tool
now the phone is stuck in bootloop, is constantly rebooting ( first sony logo, then xpria then the color splash, then reboot!)
please help me with details! i know nothing about flashtool , fastboot!
my phone is c5306 factory unlocked, locked bootloader!
Download the stock .FTF file for your Xperia SP model. Download Flashtool by androxyde and also install Xperia drivers for your Windows pc which come along with the Flashtool.
Place your downloaded stock .FTF file inside (C:/Flashtool/Firmwares) here C is normal drive where Flashtool installs you can respective drive with which you want. Then make sure your phone is switched off.
Open Flashtool and thn hit smart lighting button on top left and from there select flashmode and click OK.
There you will see your downloaded ftf if you placed it under firmware folder.
Now just select it and click flash and wait for the Flashtool to load files. Once it's done then you will see a menu popping up saying to connect your device. With device switched off press and hold power button and Volume down button to connect it into flashmode and that's it wait for the flashtoool to do the job. Once it is complete then disconnect your device and start it and wait until it loads.
Hope I helped. Hit thanks if I did

Ok so im sorry to say that the Firmware should be the problem. I suggest you download the stock FTF file for Singapore, my country as it seems that your stock FTF file might have been uploaded wrongly. There is also a chance that your phone might have a NAND error which means that your hardware might have a hardware error.

I've got a xperia sp, unlocked bootloader device. I've installed CWM recovery. Recently I tried to install CM 11 and I changed the update binary file since I couldn't flash the rom due to set_metadata error. ( A fix I found in a XDA Thread ). Now the device is on a boot loop at sony logo. I had this issue previously and I just flashed my stock rom using flashtools.
Now the issue is, when I connect my device to the pc while holding the volume down key, the green light ( indicating the device in flashmode ) comes up and it stays for few seconds and the device boots normally going into the boot loop.
I have installed the drivers for xperia, since I rooted and installed the cwm recovery on the same machine the day before. I prepared the ftf file and when flashtool prompted me to connect the device I connect. Windows does not indicate a device connecting with the usual sound.
I tried every possible way of connecting the device in flashmode but it doesn't stay for more than 5 seconds. The same for fastboot too.
any ideas on how I can recover my devce without giving it to a service center?
Thank you.

Firstly, power off the device if stuck in bootloop.
Take off your back case. Take a pen, pencil or similar object. Hold the small yellow button at the bottom of the device with the nib of pen or the object you are having. Hold that button until the device vibrates thrice
If you have flashtool.. Download stock ftf from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2311964 and place it in Flashtools>firmware. Connect your device in flashmode( Volume Down and connect). Click on the Lighting Button> Flashmode and flash. [ BACKUP YOUR INTERNAL MEMORY AS IT GETS FORMATTED]
But note that you will lost Root Access. You have to root your Xperia SP again. And if you have unlocked bootloader then it will remain unlocked. No need to unlock again.

The problem is that I tried doing that! when flash tool requests to connect the device in flash mode, I power off the device and while holding the volume down connect. But there is no sound from pc of connecting a device.! The device turns green for 5 seconds, then starts to boot again. I tried installing the drivers again but the drivers are already there!
Are you able to enter CWM ?

Try this. [ I am not sure about this. I haven't tried this ]
Connect your Xperia SP with pc. And hold that small yellow rest button for 5-6 secs. It should connect your device in flashmode.
It just my opinion. If flashmode does not work why not try in fastboot? Just download any custom rom. Extract the zip file and flash it boot.img. Enter the recovery by pressing vol+. Install the custom rom. After finishing you can try back to flash the stock rom using flashtool.

This seemed to be a hardcore drivers problem. I can't pinpoint you to the right direction as I am not a Windows user (and also prolly lazy to reboot my laptop right now lol)
On your own computer
Open Device Management, and uninstall all related drivers of Xperia SP. These also includes flashmode and fastboot mode drivers. Then execute the "drivers" installer within Flashtool install directory (which is default C:\Flashtool). Then attempt to flash again.
Try on another computer.....
...to see if it works. But make sure to install the drivers first, as mentioned above. Attempt flashing again/
fastboot a CWM-ready kernel
You could also alternatively use a quicker flashing process, which is fastboot WIlliams kernel v7 (the kernel's .elf is in the zip). I can assure it only takes lesser than 4 seconds. For broader steps you may refer here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=56907083&postcount=3

The thing is for me
1) I cant see the small yellow button that you are talking about.
2) My device is nto connecting to the flashtool, it keeps on telling me to press the 'back button' -which my xperia sp c5303 does not have.
3) your volume down and connect does not do anything. Apparently there's supposed to be a green light as well and I dont see that.
This question is really to anybody knowledgable about this... Can you help?
I have Flashtool. And the stock firmware in the right place as well. But nothing else seems to be working.
My phone shows the Sony icon when I plug it in to teh computer and press the power button, otherwise when turn it on, it just shows a red light.

I think he means the reset button. It's more copper or gold than yellow.
2nd
Don't look for back button. In the SP, vol down is Flashmode, vol up is Fastboot.
3rd
Press the button before connecting USB, hold it and release when light becomes green.

I would recommend the Sony program "Emma". Make sure you get the latest version. Earlier versions didn't support the SP.

one more thing, its says I need an unlocked bootloader but on some other threads where they were using flashtool they said that having an unlocked bootloader was bad and that it can severely damage your phone. Either way I cannot unlock my bootloader so it doesnt matter. I'll try it using Androxyde's Flashtool first and then yours if it does not work.

It didnt become green, and also there is no reset button, there is only a yellow bit of plastic in this little hole, and it says OFF. But I dont think that does anything.
I think I need some more specific instuctions and need to know where that button is.

Didn't read your bootloader is locked. Then forget Emma! It won't work.
The off button is the reset button.
Do the following.
When flashtool asks you to put your phone to flashmode:
- Unplug the phone
- Turn it off if it isn't off
- Press and hold the volume down button
- Keep holding it!!!
- Plug your phone to the PC. Don't usw usb 3 port.
- Light will turn green, flashing will start

Actually to use EMMA your bootloader has to be unlocked, but if you can't use flashtool or EMMA, you can try the original Sony PC Companion. Go to the repair phone section, identify phone, and it can help you to flash your stock firmware. From there you can restart flashing.of ROMs and all. Worked for me

This would work except for the fact that my phone's bricked. I deleted the system part of the phone using TWRP. So yh.
I have used the repair thing before though, when I deleted the download manager on my phone and literally could not download anything. So I can recommend that definitely.

Have you installed all the necessary drivers via FlashTool? All 3 of 'em i.e fastboot drivers, flashmode drivers and SP (huashan) drivers?
I know its a rudimentary question and you probably have but you'd be surprised how often people get stuck cause they haven't installed requisite drivers.
If the above fails, well you already seem to have TWRP installed so why don't you just boot into it and flash a ROM? Unless you really need to return to stock firmware for some reason, that's a viable solution to your problem.

I think the root is gone, that was part of the thing/whatever I did using TWRP to the system. So using any custom recovery is out of the picture anyway cos it wont work without root and then that's without the fact that I cant access the recoveries in the first place. Every time I try and turn my Xperia SP on, the illumination bar lights up red two or three times and that's it. All the time. Sometimes when connected to the PC it shows the Sony logo, in bootloop.
On flashtool, I made sure specifically to install the SP driver and the flashmode driver. I'm still trying though...

But coming back to what you said, I have a nandroid TWRP backup already. And it's of the stock OS. Is there some kind of shortcut that anybody knows to fixing my phone that's been bricked and currently has no firmware or recovery installed?

I think the root is gone, that was part of the thing/whatever I did using TWRP to the system. So using any custom recovery is out of the picture anyway cos it wont work without root and then that's without the fact that I cant access the recoveries in the first place. Every time I try and turn my Xperia SP on, the illumination bar lights up red two or three times and that's it. All the time. Sometimes when connected to the PC it shows the Sony logo, in bootloop.
On flashtool, I made sure specifically to install the SP driver and the flashmode driver. I'm still trying though...

Why did you delete the system via Twrp? Also when you say you can't unlock your bootloader, does that mean you don't know how to or its not unlockable at all? Is your phone being detected in fastboot and is it showing up in Device Manager?
Well if your system's gone, root access is the least of your worries. On the bright side though, your phone's recoverable since as you have mentioned, its alteast showing the Sony splash screen occasionally.
You need to get Flashtool to detect your phone cause Sony PC Companion won't work since you don't have a working system and I read above that Emma needs an unlocked bootloader. Also if your bootloader's not unlockabke, you can't flash a custom recovery and what good's a nandroid backup when you don't have a recovery to restore it from?
If you can't get your phone recognized on your PC, get on someone else's, one preferably running 7 if you don't want to go through all the disable driver enforcement nonsense and install FlashTool, install drivers and flash stock firmware. Like I said, as long as you can see the Sony splashscreen, your phone ain't dead.

Me deleting TWRP was an accident, I dont know exactly how I did it, but I'd attributed it to wiping my system. Or by removing root, which I did somehow. I think removing root, kinda makes a custom recovery useless.
My phone's bootloader unlock permissions are set to no. So I cant unlock it.
And every time I try to flash a stock firmware .ftf file onto it, the phone is not recognised and I make sure to press the volume down button when I connect the wire to the phone.
And yeah, the SONY logo shows itself when my phone is charging. It's been like that for the whole time just on SONY. Also the illumination bar is red. But is it not supposed to turn orange and then green if it is fully charged.
And no, I have been able to flash a custom recovery without having unlocked my bootloader. It's how put TWRP on it in the first place- though I need to find it again. Hopefully, soon, Ill be able to install it and then flash my NANDROID backup onto it.
Dear Members,
I am new to XDA and my problem brought me here to discuss with you guys.
Few Days ago I tried to update my Xperia Sp ROM from Jelly Bean 4.3 to Lollipop 5.1.1. While updating and installing Rom from SD card I rebooted my device that didn't start again.
Current Situation:
Device doesn't turn ON.
Power + Volume up Key-->Blue Light (Blinks) [ Not connected to PC]
Power + Volume dwn Key-->Green Light (Blinks) [ Not connected to PC]
While connected to PC, Green status Light continuously Remains ON, Flashtool(Emma) detects the device and displays message "Locked Phone Detected". Flashtool Correctly Displays device information but in faint colors with cross sign.
Using back hole power off button (pressed for 10secs) then pressing Vol up for 10secs and connecting with PC, PC detects the device.
Before Writing this thread I have tried all possible ways by following the methods and suggestions provided on this platform but couldn't solve the issue. Please guide me to solve this issue.
Thank you all in advance for your precious time.

Your bootloader seems locked(as emma suggests). If sony pc companion repair option doesn't work for you then I don't know... Maybe you hard bricked it but that's quite unlikely.
Before you flash a custom rom,you need to have a unlocked bootloader first. It's not bricked, you just need to unlock bootloader and then you can flash any custom rom you want.

Yup, Thanks for your reply
Emma shows Device is Locked and PC Companion neither recognizes the device nor proceeds the software repair.

Yes. The method I followed to install custom ROM was without unlocking the bootloader.
Could you please suggest me the way how to do that..
Thanks for your reply
Power off the phone and try connecting usb while pressing volume down. pc companion should detect it. then try repairing. (If not something's very wrong)
For unlocking bootloader see this: unlocking bootloader
If you unlock it, flash twrp.img with fastboot. in the thread above there is a fastboot package. command is: fastboot.exe devices (if detected then) fastboot.exe flash boot path/to/twrp.img
and then via twrp flash ROM.

Try also flashing stock ftf with flashtool, use version 0.9.18.6 and install drivers properly
Download stock ftf from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2311964
While powered off press volume down button and connect usb for flashmode., exclude TA.imgs and flash it

Different from the OP, but I'm facing the same issue.... Trying to flash the XQ-AT51 firmware on XQ-AT52. Tried to use flashtool on one computer got a "bundle does not match connected device error". Tried a different computer using newflasher. First I followed some instructions involving removing the .ta files, flashed. That's when I first got the boot loop and corrupt screen. Then I downloaded the firmware again and left everything in the folder except "persist_X-FLASH-ALL-2389.sin" and got the same result.
Tried a different cable. Xperia Companion just says the device is locked. So does Emma. Just stuck. ?
Why don't you download XQ-AT52 Firmware instead of XQ-AT51 ,
and flash it using newflasher ?
Here is the guide for newflasher just to double check. w w w.xperiablog.net/2018/01/28/newflasher-guide-to-install-new-firmware-for-xperia-xz-premium-xz1-and-more/

Okay I was able to repair it using the Xperia Companion....
I didn't realized that I needed to start the repair before the phone was plugged in. ?
---------- Post added at 11:29 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:44 PM ----------
And in case anyone else is in the same situation. I re-flash the device with the AT51 firmware and everything worked fine. I'm now using the US firmware on the international AT52 version of the device.
After the repair through Xperia Companion. I just re-ran the same thing as last time (with all the .ta files without the persist file) after setting up the device and turning on USB debugging again. However this time I didn't get a prompt halfway through about flashing the persist partition.
Now everything works on the US firmware. Not sure why. This is literally my fist Android device so I know very little about all this. Just glad to have a working phone again. ?
anyone can help me
i have the same problem...
Anybody figure out why Xperia Companion fails as shown in pic above? My battery is charged too so not sure why it says needs to charge battery in Xperia Companion.
I'm also getting that error message as shown above in post # 11 when trying to repair via the Xperia Companion. Any help would be great!
Me too, having the same problem with my Xperia 1 SOV-40.
I had the same problem with my Xperia 5 ii after I re-locked the bootloader using fastboot (fastboot oem lock).
I could fix the problem with Xperia Companion. Here is what I did [maybe labels are not exactly correct, my interface is in german]:
Pre-requisites:
I did not use the original Sony USB cable, but a third party cable from Anker, also worked
Disconnect device from computer
Steps to fix:
Install and start Xperia Companion
Click "software repair"
On the bottom click "My device is not detected or is a Smartwatch 3"
Choose your device, click "Xperia smartphone or tablet"
Follow steps on the screen:
Disconnect and power off device (should already be)
Press and hold volume down
Connect device via USB cable, still hold volume down, the notification LED will turn green
Repair starts
Wait about 10 to 20 minutes until repair is finished
Screen will stay black and notification LED will stay green during the whole procedure
After these steps, Xperia Companion showed a success message and my device turned off. I disconnected the cable and started it (press and hold power button for about 1 second). The device first only turned on the notification LED in green, screen stayed black. After about 5 to 10 seconds, the device turned off again. I started it again (press and hold power button for about 1 second) until it vibrates, and it started normally.
Of course the device was reset and all data was wiped. For me this was no problem, as I anyway resetted it before.
Hope that helps

A few hours ago I suffered this, the problem with cable! I tormented 10 hours to look for other solutions to put the "ROM", being the official version (emma flasher) does not work! But it didn't work because of the cable (it was a "Baseus" cable, it was ok, but I think it was too long, 3 meters: D .
