Dear All,
First i thank you for you huge contribution to human needs in this planet ! You Rock dear community.
I'm more a reader than a contributor in most forums, i usually find the answers only by searching other people posts, but this time i couldn't find an answer .
I have an Xperia Z1 C6903, Vodaphone (i guess from spain), running Kitkat 4.4.2 with latest firmware 14.3.A.0.757.
I was trying to root it, i red practically all the methods here in the forums & elsewhere, and there was always one step that i couldn't bypass : UNLOCKING THE BOOTLOADER.
I took my code from Sony website, i tried many methods in vain. In my Phone it shows of course : Bootloader unlocking allowed : NO
My question is very simple : Is there on earth (even on other planets i can take the trip) any method to unlock my bootloader ?
Thanking you All in advance, and apologizing if this question is already answered in another topic, i really couldn't find it.
Awaiting your Help Dear Community.
Best Regards,
NO! There is no way to unlock it, there is no way around. Sony will generate the Code from your IMEI anyway but if will not work. Do not even try on Earth to find a way because there is not.
There is absolutely no need to unlock the bootloader in order to root.
Which is good news for you because you cannot unlock anyway.
In order to get root on the latest firmware then you just need to follow the link in my signature

@gregbradley, excuse my question, but have you done this before on unlocked Z1 ? i mean will have full access to my phone ? (Install Super user, Titanium backup ... etc etc )
Thnaks Again.
once or twice
Just follow the 3 steps in the link
There is no need to unlock the bootloader, no need to backup TA partition (You only do that id you are unlocking the bootloader anyway), no need to use any dodgy rooting methods (Like Vroot etc)
Flash a 534 FTF
Install dual recovery
Flash a pre rooted rom
Takes about 10 minutes

Hello Again,
Done ! The method worked for me, my Z1 is fully rooted now even with my locked bootloader ! Thanks again
Only, and for those reading this post, specially Xperia Z1 C6903 owners, for step one you have to pick a specific FTF file and not any FTF ending with 534, The only one working (and gaining you Root access later on the process) is FW 14.1.G.1.534
Although you are on a recent FW, don't worry, after accomplishing the other steps, you will be back to the latest one.
N.B i tried many of the FTF ending with 534, but it didn't work except for FW 14.1.G.1.534
Cheers.

Please use the search guys, this has been discussed in many threads all over here and the general section ever since 4.3 was released.
Currently, the only way to root after you have already flashed 4.3 is to unlock your bootloader and flash DooMLoRD's advanced stock kernel.
That's it, until somebody finds a way to root with a locked bootloader and that doesn't mean you have to post asking for it. Once someone has a breakthrough, they will publish their work here for certain.

If your bootloader is unlocked you can try this. It worked for me.

So, basically exactly what I already said. Flash DooMLoRD's advanced stock kernel and flash a superuser zip.
No need to give page views to yet another website that just reproduces guides/work of XDA members.

I'm not sure why you revived this thread that is several months old to post that.
Firstly, it's just a reproduction of information from a couple of DooMLoRD's threads from here and here on XDA.
Secondly, it directly links to his files, which is a no no.
Thirdly, there are also direct links in that article to unofficially hosted versions of Androxyde's Flashtool, which is also not polite.
Please don't push page views to places that do things like that. Thanks.

However, if you just want to root, then the information supplied in this thread is out of date now. You can use towelroot to directly root your phone without unlocking the bootloader.

You can take backup of DRM keys. In case you need to use the warranty service, just restore the backup and your warranty stays valid.

So you can make your TA Backup once on rooted 4.1.2, then you are free to root your 4.3 and lock your bootloader with restoring TA..
Hello Everyone,
I need some help, i have KK 4.4.2 i need to Root and backup TA.
It's this possible? someone is kind enough to tell me the steps or link to do it?!
Thanks to all in advance for help and sorry, but I'm a beginner and i don't want to do damage..
1) Flash a FTF ending in .534 (Find the relevant files and instructions in the mega collection thread in the general section)
2) Install dual recovery (Find the files and instructions in the cross device development thread)
3) Flash a Rom of your choice (You will find the files and instructions in the development thread for stock based roms and in the priginal development thread for custom roms)
There is no need to back up your TA unless you are unlocking your bootloader
There is no need to unlock your bootloader is you using stock based rom.
If you do want to backup your TA then use the TA backup tool found in the cross device development thread. Do it any time after installing dual recovery and before unlocking your bootloader
Follow link today i rooted my.757

Hello xda !
I am a proud owner of a z3 compact, D5803, and was looking to unlock the endless possibilities of rooting my device.
I've stumbled on a few "how to", but they seem to only refer to android 4 or 5
example : ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/z3-c...-keys-t3013343 )
Or some quotes here and there, but as I am greatly inexperienced, I did not understand much
here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/z3-c...2#post66862792
and there : http://forum.xda-developers.com/z3-c...75-lb-t3418714
or there : http://forum.xda-developers.com/z3-compact/development/guide-twrp-to-root-access-t3355096
and something here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/z3-c...75-lb-t3418714
I'm getting lost !
Hence, I was wondering if by any chance there was a more simple/straightforward "how to" for my Marshmallow...
Any help/advice/clue would be so appreciated !
I wish you an awesome day !
See you and thanks in advance

Back-up your DRM Keys, and proceed to Unlock your Bootloader. After which just flash a Kernel for MM, ( just check the Android Dev section ) via fastboot in Flashtool. You would have TWRP in which you could flash SuperSU and get Root and Busybox installed

Actually I've found on my other topic this link : http://forum.xda-developers.com/z3-compact/general/recovery-root-mm-575-lb-t3418714
that doesn't require to unlock the bootloader and hence no problem with DRM. No nned for backup too !
perfect, it worked flawlessly !
