[Q] Side Load on Gear Neo? - Samsung Gear 2 Neo

Looked through the forums and Google but didn't see it.
How do you side load applications onto the Tizen OS? I know the watch supports unknown sources.....for the life of me I can't figure this out. I've tried pushing it with the Tizen SDB but nothing. Any thoughts?
I saw on stackoverflow that someone had the same question but for whatever reason I couldn't get it across using these methods. The method below is used in the emulator but it should be the same for watch right?
http://stackoverflow.com/questions/14294677/how-do-i-deploy-a-tizen-application-to-the-tizen-emulator

Did you enable the adb debugging? And in settings enable 'unknown sources'?

[Q] Sideloading Help (Non-Root)

Hey all,
I have a Galaxy Gear that I received as a gift for Christmas, and I absolutely love it! However, when I saw a YouTube video showing off Nova Launcher, Angry Birds etc, I wanted to try for myself. After some research, I found out there were only about two different ways to do this: ADB or Wondershare Mobile Go. I understand how to use the terminal and ADB would be no problem, except for the fact that I don't have a computer. All I have, hardware-wise, is a Sprint Galaxy S4 and my Galaxy Gear. Is there some way to side load to the gear via my S4? A "Gear Manager" for side loading? I do not wish to root my Gear, or my S4. If this is not possible at all, I understand. I was just hoping some more experienced Android Users could give me some intelligent insight here.
Thanks.

Alright. I guess I just need to buy one. Thanks guys.
BTW. Any suggestions for good, cheap, laptops or desktops? Nothing super high-end, but about two Gigs if Ram would be nice.

Apps for Gear 1 on Tizen and Non Samsung phones

I managed to get a oneplus one last week. (No I dont have invites but as soon as I have them I will give them away here @ xda) . I wasn't surprised that it just did not work with my gear 1 on Tizen . I was not in a mood to root my device but then I found the amazing thread . Voila!! things just worked like magic. No rooting required. Notifications work perfectly. Only thing which is not working is the Smart Relay.
So once everything was up and running I was missing the option of having extra apps to go along with my gear ( I am greedy ). I could not find a single thread which deals with installing or sideloading watchfaces, apps , plugins or widgets on to the Gear 1 without the need of rooting your phone.
With this thread I anticipate that people (including myself) will be putting a guide to install extra goodies for gear on non samsung phones.
Please do not flame me as I am just trying to make things a little bit easy to find. If the moderator feels this thread is useless please feel free to close the same.
Thanks and I really hope we get some helpful guides and tutorials.

Sideloading is easy with sdb from tizen sdk.
Code:
sdb install your.wgt
You can sideload watch faces and all the don't require tizen privilege.

As someone who does 1-click roots this is a foreign language to me lol is that opening up the command prompt and installing it that way?
Hi. I just installed CM11 on my Galaxy S5. I was using Tizen Mod 3.0 just fine back on touchwiz but now I can get it to pair but it won't connect. I downloaded and followed many different instructions but I always end up stuck at the connection screen and it just stays there forever, never actually finishing the connection with the watch. What should I do?

I have same problem..

Can I move pictures and music to and from my Gear?

Hello Gear board --
I have a beautiful new Galaxy Gear running Tizen, and I realized there seems to be no way to simply transfer photos onto, or off of, my watch.
The app Fancy Pictures indeed takes great pictures, but they don't sync to my phone.
I haven't seen any information, anywhere, about transferring pictures from a phone to a Gear, or from a computer to a Gear...
Am I missing something here? Should I have tried plugging the watch in, perhaps?

Yes, you can plug your watch into the charge cradle and then plug the usb into the computer. Your computer should install the driver it needs and you can browse in the file manager for the gear and view the folders just like if you plug your phone into the computer.

Okay, I didn't have any such luck with that last night. I tried enabling USB debugging in Settings> About too.
I was resisting downloading the entire Tizen wearable SDK just to get my hands on SDB (Smart Debug Bridge), which is apparently an analog to Android's ADB.

I just searched for it, but someone here on xda shared just the sdb.exe here is the link I found. http://www.mediafire.com/download/140vftuwb9jiwgf/sdb.exe
that should be all you need and it's all I have installed too.

I've tried two laptops, one with Windows 8.1 Update and one with Windows 8.1... while SDB runs, it doesn't exactly install, and "sdb devices" from a command prompt doesn't yield anything.
Have you installed the Tizen wearable SDK for some reason or another on your computer? Anything in Device Manager?

maybe run kies so it will install the tizen usb drivers for samsung? I have win7 and it acts like any other android device, as I can see the folders like an SD card on the gear. Once you get past that hurdle, you should be fine. I will try to think of other ideas and update the post.

Qualcomm EngineerMode

so according to this article: https://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2017/11/oneplus-engineering-apk-exposes-backdoor-to-root-access/
"...The important part, though, is a "DiagEnabled" activity with a method called "escalatedUp." If this is set to "true," the app will allow root access over Android Debug Bridge, Android's command-line developer tools."
the article says the APK was also found in Asus and Xiaomi devices... I wonder if maybe it is also on the Moto Z?
I looked, it isn't there.
I was just wondering whether any bright mind who had his hands on those devices managed to save this as apk
I searched around a bit without too much of a success, but I do believe we can try running it on our Motorolas if we happen finding it.
On a separate note: invoking Rlz Debug UI aka 'Google Partner Setup' by entering *#*#759#*#* into dialer (see screenshot) lists one option called "OEM mode" with possibility to set it to true or false - does anyone know what this is meant for? What is OEM mode after all?

Newbie looking for Samsung4 Smartwatch Apps

I just received a Samsung4 smartwatch and am looking for more apps not available on Google Play! Primarily Social Media apps and Facebook Messenger. LOL. That's where I chat from and those contacts are not in the other message apps - Google Android Messages, Samsung Messages (which is best to use?) I am here to learn how to download the apps listed on this site. I have some IT experience (IT Systems Technician for 16 years/IT Systems Analyst 2 years) but haven't tinkered with a smartwatch. I did brick a phone back in the day so I'm a little scared to mess with my brand-new watch! I did install the Moviebox APK (Kpanda?) on my smartphone, but it didn't require any other software. I already opened Developer Tools - ADB - Debug over WIFI (the IP starts with 10) From what I understand, I have to make changes in Device Manager for the phone, install APK software programs to my laptop (are these free or do I have to pay for it?), download the apps I want from your catalogue and install to the watch? I will watch the videos and follow along! And there is no risk of damaging my watch, like maybe I select something wrong and wipe it out or brick it?
Unfortunately, I don't have a correct IP address - Debug over WIFI shows 10.0.0.194, therefore, I cannot proceed with downloading APKs from Uptodown from either Bugjaeger or Easy Fire Tools. I am connected to Wi-Fi and not getting a 192. IP. There is no notification request sent to a device. When I click continue it says "Authorization Failed". Is there another setting I need to change?
Update: I figured it out. My old internet provider used to begin with 192 but this one starts with 10. Then when I click on the file that I want to install I have to click a prompt on the watch to allow it. All good!
Welcome to the XDA forums! Looks like you found the Samsung Galaxy watch 4 section!
Cheers
