With the Micromax Stock Rom Scatter File, I sucessfull flashed the EBR files but the internal card became corrupt and could not format it in any way.
i have a backup from my rom (Purexperia Z2) and now i will flash the Purexperia again with your EBR files in it and then restore my data from backup. hope it works
feedback coming soon
Edit: I just remembered that I can not include the EBR files in the Purexperia Z2 rom because this can only be flashed by CWM. I will flash Micromax Stock rom with your EBR files.
Edit2: Unlucky, i flashed Micromax stock rom with your EBR files in it but everytime e reboot the phone it says invalid SD card and i have to format it. Any ideas?

Magnus A117 as Mediatek MT6589T chipset, i think you can use this HOWTO to modify the EBR files from your ROM and then flashing with the help of this thread.
If you succeed, send me the "original" files from the stock rom of your A117 to upload on the tutorial
EDIT: Don't forget to backup all files first!!

your sd card became corrupt after reboot? did you format it?
i have twrp recovery.
After connecting the phone, its still showing as 'searching'. . Before connecting my phone,my phone state is switched and formatted the data in twrp .
This is exactly what i wanted to ask..
i followed all your steps.. phone is working fine too...
but what should i have done for you last step that reads...
"Boot Up the Phone And Format corrupted Internal SD
And You Are Done"
... i dont find any format command in the phone???... so i just continued with (an internal sd card Erase) instead
Also wanted to ask.. if i ever factory reset my phone.. any cautions?
How to format SD card ?
My query is after done everything as mentioned how to format corrupted Internal SD? means on PC in my computer or using any other software/app?

Hi everyone,
I'm trying to change roms and for some reason the recovery says that the sdcard cannot be mounted.
I have tried using darkyrom ressurection and it works, but after i try flashing slimbean it flashes the kernel and then stops recognizing the sdcard.
I don't know if this is a physical problem (sdcard broken or something), or a software problem.
If anyone knows how this can be fixed I would be very gratefull.
If you can mount it on your computer, see what format it is in. Fat or Fat32 ?

Copy everything off of it. Then do a full format (non quick). Could take 30min. Then flash to stock 2.3.x with Odin using 512 pit. Then flash a kernel through Odin, and flash the Rom you want from there.

I know my question isn`t exactly about mounting the sd card, but since it involves memory, I believe this thread could be useful.
I updated my Galaxy S to Nightly`s CM10 4.1.2 and since then have been having major issues with storage.
I have a 32gb sd card which to me appears totally unused, because I try to take pictures on the camera, and it simply won`t allow me `cause it says I do not have any space available, but this is what my phone shows me:
Internal Storage
Total Space 1.48GB
Apps 361MB
Available 1.15GB
USB Storage
Total Space 5.78GB
Apps 182MB
Pictures Video 2.14GB
Downloads 432MB
Available 2.41MB
SD Card
Total Space 29.87GB
Available 28.62GB
I`ve only been having these problems after updating to CM10, before I had a stock android 2.3!
To be very honest I do not know what the USB storage stands for, but I think my phone could cleverly use the 32GB I left free for my stuff!
Any help please on how to have available space on my phone again so I can continue taking pictures and download normally?
Many thanks

i9000 has 8 GB internal SD which is divided into Internal Storage and USB storage. SD Card is your external SD.
Seems that the most space of your USB storage is used to store Pictures and Videos.
There is no option to change camera target storage in CM10, but could you just move your pics to SD card?
I hope that the option of choosing camera storage will be there in the future - I think they had it on CM9.
Did you update with wipe, wipe dalvik and wipe cache?
Thanks a lot for the explanation!
I believe I didn't do the wipe dalvik cache, should I try doing it?
I tried transferring my pics to the SD but couldn't there is no option, I'll try doing it via file explorer!

Have you tried checking or transferring on your computer.. If the SD card is readable, you could transfer files..
# Sent from my blazing slimbean SGS i9000 using Tapatalk 2 #
Gladly the SD card is readable and I just plugged the phone to the computer and copied the dcim folder to the SD card, the only problem is that I cannot see this "album" on the image gallery. Any hints?
Problem solved, just changed the folder name and it became visible. Just didn`t like it because I had to do it manually, is there a way to make my pictures and apps to be honest, go directly to the sd card other than the internal storage? I bought and class 10 sd card so that it would have fast access and I wouldn`t have to worry about backing up stuff from the internal to the external all the time.
Sent from my GT-I9000 using xda app-developers app
There's no option in cm10 to choose picture target save location. Maybe It'll be available in later releases.
hello, I have also a problem with the external SD card - it can be somewhat connected with this.
A while ago I didn't have a CD rom or an USB to install windows on my PC and I thought I could use the SD card while it's in the phone as an USB device to install windows from it. During the format process, it gave an error and now it says it's broken when trying to acces from the phone. I don't have a SD converter, to put it directly in the PC, but I tried to format it from the phone and from Windows (while in the phone), but nothing works.
Can I do something or it's broken forever?
Is the Read-only switch on your SD off?

Yes you are correct. But they are talking about something else.
This app backups /efs partition on internal SD card.
So during installing ROMs/using AROMA installer and stuff like that, sometimes it requires to do a complete wipe. And the internal SD card also requires wiping (Also during changing CSC, internal SD gets wiped). So, in that scenario, the backup would get deleted. And hence the requirement of backing up to external SD card.

In this case you are right. But ........... i have an EFS backup made in 06.11.2013 on internal SD.Since 06.11 i reinstalled probably 11 times different ROM's.My EFS backup .tar.gz and .img is still there.I think that wipe do not touch backup files and folders.
For some unknown reasons, even after deleting all folders from my internal memory of my Moto G (1st Gen), i see only 6.21 GB free space out of 12.9 GB (or 16 GB).
Is it because of rom back up i took few days back ? Please help me to free the memory back.

Rom backup is about 1-2 GB depending upon your data.. Try deleting that! If you are using TWRP recovery then the backup should pe present in TWRP folder in internal storage!

Check your backup in Data/Media/clockworckmod
If it is not there then go into your recovery.. There you can change the location of your backup! You can then find where your previous backups are stored.

Checked it, the folder "clickworkmod" is not present. I tried to make a backup again and this time it was created and took up further 2GB space. I could not see my old backup.
I past i had also installed TWRP, so i tried flashing TWRP recovery and checked for any existing backup if existed, but it found no twrp backup.
To conclude, there seems to be no rom backup on my memory, still i am clueless of why am i getting almost about 3 GB of space occupied by some unknown thing
I also tried doing a factory reset, but still the memory showed only about 9 GB free (Instead of expected around 12 GB) considering my MOTO G is 16GB model.

Go to Settings>Apps>All and sort by size. Check your apps. Sometimes Chrome is using a crazy amount of space. Especially if you downloaded something from basketbuild. Press Clear Data.

Hi, I just tried with ES explorer, it shows just 449 MB used (Directory analyze) and does not show any thing major consuming data. Still i get readings as Total: 12.92 GB; Used 6.90GB; Avail: 6.02 GB.
Have also done extensive search using Root explorer.
It's surprising that nothing shows where the extra GB's are gone

And how to do that ? I already performed a factory reset, and still nothing got better.
I have TWRP installed, anything i can wipe safely from there ?
1) Dalvik cache
2) data
3) Internal storage
4) cache
5) system
I am not very sure what can i wipe without risking Bricking my device.
Can anyone please suggest what among these 5 are safe to wipe ?
Also i don't want to lose TWRP and root after wiping something, so please suggest accordingly.

You can wipe everything without bricking your device.. But you just want some extra space then you should only wipe internal storage, cache and dalvik cache!
Make sure you copy all your important stuff from your internal storage to your pc or sdcard before wiping it.

Okay, I will try wiping my internal storage from TWRP.
I was concerned, since i saw various posts were people messed up their roms by wiping internal storade, and had to do abd side load.
(Please confirm once more that i should proceed with wiping internal memory from twrp).

I was concerned, since i saw various posts were people messed up their roms by wiping internal storade, and had to do abd side load.
(Please confirm once more that i should proceed with wiping internal memory from twrp).

Yess you can wipe your internal storage without any problem! When you unlock your bootloader, your internal storage is automatically wiped and it does not create any problems, so you can safely wipe it!
Sent from my Moto G 2014
Solution found!. I simply did "fastboot erase userdata" and i got back my full storage capacity.

Thanks so much for your contribution in advance. I already instaled Twrp 3.0.2.0. but I found an important bug. The problem is I can't choose betwen the different options to save a nandroid backup (sd card, internal memory, otg) because it doesn't change among them. In fact, it only works on internal memory. The same happens with restore function. This is a problem because a nandroid is very heavy to save it in the internal memory. Any idea....?

It seems like it can't recognize the external sd card. Maybe it is a problem related with my external sd card. I'll check it again. Anyway, it's strange because I didn't have that problem with the previous TWRP installed. In any case, thanks so much, mate.

I have tested on my device,(rooted , fixed platform.xml for write eternal sd-card) with kingston 32GB class 4
Didn't found any problem.
Backup & Restore from external sd-card are success completely.
Please check your sd-slot and space free of your sd-card again.
Ok. The problem must be in my device. I'll check it .

Hi again mate,
It's really weird. I already checked my external sd card. I can write on it without problems whith any app, it's also well settled inside the slot and it has 40 GB of free space. Besides, I don't have any problem to make a backup on external sd card using the old TWRP 2.8.7.0 version. However, if I try to make it with any of the two versions contained in the folder you posted here (new TWRP 2.8.7.0 and TWRP 3.02.0) , I can't make the backup on the external sd card. None of them can enter or read the contents of the external sd card for any strange reason.
I have no idea why it is happening...
I would appreciate any suggestions.... :

Hi again,
Well, I will check it according you propose me as soon as I am at home but as I said before I can't have any problem using the old version of TWRP 2.8.7.0 and I have to report that a mate from another forum has told me he has the same problem. Thinking about it, we suppose it can be caused by de format of the external sd card. In our case, we both formated by ExFat... What do you think?

I think so, It's very possible ,
But I don't have 64GB sd-card and never try an ex-fat.
It may take more time to solve that,

I already check it according your sugestion and I can access only to internal storage but I can't see the external sd card. However, if i connect de device in a normal way (no in recovery mode), the pc recognize also the external sd card. Now, I'm going to try it with the new beta version.
After trying, unfortunately it doesn't work neither. I'm going to format the sd card now just in case it is the reason.
I have already formatted it but there is no way... I don't know what else to do...

I tested only numbers 3 and 4 and number 4 is working perfectly now. Congratulations, mate!!! Thanks you so much, you have done a good job, mate!!! :highfive::good:
I don't know if you added the same changes to another versions after number 4, but if so, which one do you think we should install as the most balanced? Maybe number 4...? After all, number 4 doesn't seem to need more changes. In any case, I suggest you to make a image file with the final version, in order to install it in a better way.

What i have done???
First i used Kitchen ( download and extract to desktop ) to edit my boot.img!
With kitchen i unpack boot.img and searched for fstab.hi6210sft file, with notepad++ i edited that file by adding this line:
Note: Check all the line until the end of tab!
Code:
/dev/block/mmcblk1p2 /data/app ext4 rw,nosuid,nodev,noatime,data=ordered,noauto_da_alloc,discard wait
Then i rename the boot.img to old_boot.img and repacked in to a new one and rename it to boot.img! Get it???
Now what need more????
Bootloader must be unlocked!
Need TWRP!
Your SD Card must be a cat10 and must have 32GB or more of storage.
Use Default Huawei Backup app to backup your phone.
Do backup from your SD Card in to PC, very important!!!!
Boot in to TWRP
Go to TWRP, Advanced, Partition SD Card
Select Micro SDCard
In EXT Size add 10240 (10GB - I think is enough but you can choose your own size)
In File System select ext4
Swipe to Partition ( This will erase SD Card in process!!!!!!! )
Copy boot.img to SD Card
Go to install, select SD Card, select image, select boot.img, select boot and install it
Go to main menu
Do Factory Reset
Boot the phone!
Now you can restore all to your SD Card!
How to check if is ok after boot?
Go to Google Play storage and install Storage Space, or any other app that show you you mounted partitions, in Storage Space go to settings, all partitions, slide down to the end and you must have somthing like the picture bellow! ( in picture i was on test mode and only have a 4GB partiton that show to be litle)
Check the images to get a ideia how it works.
I think is all!
Enjoy it!
Well, you can do the same without modifying ramdisk using adoptable storage

Yeah, I thought the same. But what I'm thinking now, does it work better than the adoptable storage? Since it sucks and doesn't really work. If his method works better, it sounds like a good option.

Hi!
I found that while using an SD Card as adopted internal storage, it is mandate that the speed of the card is very high. High speed SD cards such as UHS-1 type card is recommended for Adopted Internal Storage where as Class 2, Class 4 types are not recommended for adopted internal storage as the performance of latter is approximately 10 times slower than the former, and might cause performance issues.
So my mod does not have this issue because only apps go to Sd Card and only be a read action, the data from apps a dalvik-cache still in phone memory and most part of read writing is there.
But if you want to try ( i don´t teste it...) i found this to get Sd Card adopted:
Search on Google said:
Step 1: Be sure you are using a High Perfomance Sd Card or you will loose performance on you phone.
Example:
Backup all from your Sd Card and format it to start from zero.
Step 2: Now you have to decide how do you to split the the SDcard. You can choose either to use 100% of the SD card to the internal storage or you can split between internal storage and SDcard. The splitting option is recommend if you need to put your card and a PC. But we would recommend using the whole card.
Step 3: Connect your phone to your PC using an original USB cable and make sure ADB driver are installed properly. You will need to enable USB Debugging on your device as well.
Step4: On your computer open a command window/ terminal and type this code: “adb shell”.
Step 5: Type “sm list-disks” to open a list with the available disks for adoption. Once you do that it will look something like the image example below.
Code:
1|[email protected]:/ § sm list-disks
disk:179:160
Note: disk info can be diferent in your device
Step 6: You have to partition the disk now. For this you need to use the “sm partition DISK TYPE RATIO” command. To understand you better let’s take an example. To partition the disk above as fully adopted storage (aka private)we should use this command:
Code:
sm partition disk: 179:160 private
If you wanna split if 50:50 you should use this command:
Code:
sm partition disk: 179:160 mixed 50
You see, it’s not difficult!
Step 7: This process may take a while and once it’s done go to Settings > Additional Settings > Storage and you will see the new internal storage. Sometimes the total space is not showed but do not worry, it works fine.

I use this one...

Can someone help, please? I got stuck at the beginning with this tutorial. I need free space on my PRA-LX1 and decided to follow this tutorial. I got a real ice SD card and I unlocked it but I failed to extract the boot.img from my phone. Can someone lease share the exact steps for the procedure of extracting the BOOT.IMG?
I installed the AIK Kitchen tool on my phone but it said there is no available IMG to work with. Then I downloaded the supposed stock ROM for my phone to use with Kitchen for Windows but I got some CRC error while extracting the UPDATE.APP and even when I override it it doesn't show there is BOOT.img inside. So I didn't even got to use Kitchen because I can't find this damn boot.img. Phone is with stock rom 8.0.0.375 C432.
