buzzing sound from speaker - Xperia Z Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello guys
Recently I unlocked the phone bootloader , rooted and installed a new ROM ..
But when I get a notification sometimes , a high pitch buzz sound comes out of the speaker and at the same time I discovered that the earphone Jack doesn't work anymore
This didn't happen before I installed the new ROM so I thought I install another ROM but it occurred on the new ROM too
Thanks for your help

Put slimkat rom in external sd.
then put your phone in recovery>Wipe cache partition>wipe dalvik cache>wipe system>install slimkat>reboot

Sorry but that didn't help , the problem still exists ,can this be a hardware problem ? Something wrong with the headphone jack? Should I flash the custom ROM to be sure ?

Try CM11 and check whether the issue continues

It's a known issue with AOSP based roms

I did not face that issues when i flashed cm11 or aokp

It's not a constant buzz, only briefly every so often. I'm not sure whether it's because older blobs are used or because of cm itself

[Q] sensitive buttons don't work

Hi,
I have a problem with all the custom roms. the sensitive buttons don't work.
I tried all Maclaw's roms and Virginity V3 but i have always this issue.
when i come back to the stock rom, it works.
I think the problem come from the kernel : i tried the Virginity Kernel V3 on my rom stock just rooted, it don't work neither.
can anybody help me ?

Reroot ur phone and flash
Remember do your own experiments on your phone because its yours
So find a solution by yourself because no one has this problem
Blame Samsung I read somewhere that our phone got this problem
So try and try until u get it
i'm sorry to say you can't do anything about it... neither a developer can, as far as i know.. about 5% of s3 minis have this problem.... you just live with it, i do too

On every android 4.4 sense 5.5 rom headphone sound and speaker notification sound glitches like cracking sounds latest firmware flashed tried different roms with full wipe tried sound mods changed kernel but no luck.. When I flash 4.3 rom no issues at all.. Is there anyone who experiences something like that? Is there a possible fix for that?

Did you try flashing stock FTF to find out if the problem lies in your hardware or is it a software problem?
My best guess is a hardware one I am afraid.
Quote me back if you expect a reply.
Good Luck

Can you please try a STOCK rom and tell me that ? If many people are complaining about it after a specific kernel/Rom, I assume this is a software issue which would be only fixed by a developer who is working on that particular rom/kernel.
Good luck

This confirms the problem is with custom ROM and your hardware is perfectly fine! This could be due to irregular regulation of power in your ROM/ kernel. Have you undervolt it a lot or something like that especially GPU?

Developer of the ROM can in this case. You can change them manually too but I don't suggest it

AOSP Roms

Hello! I want to switch from Sony Lollipop 5.1.1 to a stable AOSP based rom. I tried CyanogenMod 12.1 and AOSP Jaguar but I experienced screen freezes and general lag that makes me to go back to stock rom. It is a problem with my device or it is a problem with AOSP roms? What can I do in case that my device has this problem?
hi i tried all cm based roms and oasp roms and i can confirm you that all of them have screen freezes. There aren't any solutions expect to switch to stock based roms.

No problem dude but it's strange because it seemed that some users don't have this issue. The only one i didn't tried is this one http://fxpblog.co/qualcomm-krait-400-family/sony-xperia-z1/ because i don't understand how to flash it. If you want to try. (the aosp one)

Hey dude just had an idea. Which gapps are you using? I personnaly have ever used open gapps ans Never tried other ones. Can't try to change now, but will probably tomorrow. I'm going to say you how it evolve. Say me if you find a solution or a rom without this issue.

Still no solution for "No sound in earpiece while calling"?

Its been 2-3 years and there's still no solution for this bug. No sound in earpiece while calling. I have to use loudspeaker, or headphone or Soundanout app which isn't perfect anyway, has some bugs.
I tried almost all roms including official roms as well but it doesn't work. But it doesn't seem to be a hardware issue as soundabout can solve the problem somehow.
But if its a software issue then why do other roms (custom or official) fail to solve the problem?
Any thoughts?
Thanks

hmm..
I never had this issue in stock rom on any android version (4.3 JB to 5.1.1 LP)
but sometimes face this problem on alpha or beta MM custom rom.
if you face this problem on stock rom, maybe its a hardware failure

I am thinking the same now. because recently I flashed miui 7 rom. and in that rom it was always showing that my headphone is connected though I didn't connect headphone.
so it might be any fault in my headphone jack. though this headphone connected notification wasn't shown any other roms.
