[Q][Help]-Black stripe on screen

Hy guys,need help here.
Suddently im my screen a very big black stripe appears at the bottom of the screen,it shows even in the CWM menu,and dont change to landscape,so i think that my screen is saying goodbye of this life!
The question is:Thats really a hardware problem and theres no way to test it?
I love my phone,i dont want *and dont have money to buy other!

If u want to test that it is really not a hardware problem,
try flashing another rom to see if the problem persists or not..
If it persists then its the problem of ur touchscreen so take it to sony service center.They will get it repaired...

flash another rom to make sure,but if it is shown when you are running different apps and even in cwm i guess its hardware problem...

some times there is a screen cut if you are in high frequency.
anyway if its your screens problem there are some cheap in ebay..

If It is a Hardware Problem... Than Just Replace the Touch pad it Should Cost you Around 20$ to 25$(2nd Quality)
I had the Same Problem & Replaced the Touch Pad Now it Works Good For Me..!!

Yeah but i can't buy on Ebay and where i live is much more expensive...its will be the half of the price of a new phone.

maybe you can flash with another ROM
always flash the kernel and the other..after that try to wipe data
hope it can help to solve your problem

Have you consulted a service center? And maybe find out if it's a hardware issue (it probably is ) and maybe get an estimate on how much it would cost to fix it?
Worst case scenario: buy a new phone but don't throw away your x8 so you can stay active here. That's what i'd do.

No,i have the phone around 1 year and 5 months,no more warranty.I tryed to change kernel+ROM and nothing.By now i will assume thats a hardware problrm and 'll try to dissasembly and see what i can do... hope its simple!

My mobile get`s nuts!

Well, hello everyone!
From 3-4 days i see my mobile is working alone...i mean like someone touch the screen(when is unlocked)...i never hit my phone or drop down...just i use to install many roms. When this trouble is appear i did`nt do nothing...i mean i don`t instal a new rom or something else...is behave like somebody else is control my mobile! The area where i see the touch points is on left side of my screen from the top until down...sometimes if is unlocked is open the calls and then is appear numbers like 1,4,7 and *, if i am in menu is scrolling up and down ...is strange behaviour. Someone there is able to help me, or i must to return to service?
I am sure is not virus there coz i scan with Avast, and is not from one rom...i wipe and i instal another 4-5 roms and is the same problem!

Well done i flash back the original kernel...and on PC Companion when i connect i found one update available...i updated my mobile, now is up to date...i will test in next few hours but as far i see the problem persisits...
Guys, i am on stock rom from more then 12 hours and is no change there...my screen gets touched by a invisible finger i think is time to send to service...or whatever to buy a new mobile. Thanks a lot!

try to go back to stock using PCC

Just flash stock firmware using flashtool

If u flash a diferent rom and kernel and the problem persists try to go back to factory kernel and rom if even at this time is stil persists the problem ...the solution for me was :
There is a touch screen problem...touch pad malfunction and for me the only way to repair was to send in service...or to buy a new mobile...so i give my mobile to recycling program and i get 28 euro , i count my points from bills and i got another 49 euro...with this money i use to pay around 120 euro difference and i got a Nokia Lumia 610 is a windows mobile and i will see what he can do...until now i am happy with what i have.
If u want to stay on Android i suggest u to go for Sony Xperia Arc S...but i am afraid u will have later the same problem.
This is what i did, u do as u like...the choice is yours! Sorry for my negative answer!

Sure, if flashing stock FIRMWARE doesn't fix it, nearest service shop guys will tell ya. There's no other way around...maybe ask for divine assistance, curse the ghosts that do it

try restoring from your ta backup if you did backed up at all.

Thats what happens if you dont read whats gonna be the effect if you unlock your phone,,, this problem exist for ages, and theres still no fix for this issue, so if you didnt back up your T. A.,, you should wait maybe more months until sony fix it

As everyone has replied, you should have READ THE FORUM's before just going in and unlocking your bootloader. Right now if you unlock the bootloader, your camera will be completely useless. And since your posting here and are asking for help, i'm positive you did not back up your T.A partition which includes all the DRM keys for your camera to be fully fictional. Bottom line it if you do not have your T.A partition, there is no way to get your camera functionality back until Sony's fixes this issue and from the looks for it on the Sony forums, i doubt it will be anytime soon. Sorry, your pretty much SOL =(. On the upside, now you know to read the forums before doing anything that will void your warranty =).

And no, there is still no way to fix it if there ever will be (My guess is that Sony might fix the unlock process, but I don;t think there will ever be a fix for already broken unlocked phones)

No expert on the issue myself, far from it, but source, documentation, anything. Apparently the device, hardware and software, is pretty heavily protected making it hell to reverse/figure out. Especially without any documentation or code to help.

Camera is programmed into TA and spoiled when unlocking bootloader. Only Sony can program it in another way.

So is a kind of security, if you touch it you will lost the warranty, or something like that. I hope will leak something from Sony a soon as is possible because I don't understand why is so restricted.

Hi everyone!
I'm from Russia , bought informal unit of Hong Kong ...
because the curve warning on the forum when you unlock the bootloader was lost functionality of the camera ... (((
as a result of treatment in support of Sony in Russia , not in what they do not recognize the fact that in this case the recovery is not possible even a special brand programmer!!!
I 'm not talking about warranty repairs , as I understand it - Sony does not solve the problem even for a money!!!
My question is why such a silence, it's okay to sell unsuitable for repair device software error, for a lot of money ???
I know any device from Samsung, you can bring back to life from any state by the brand programmer, but it NOT Sony XPERIA Z1 ...

The famous touch screen issue!

My previous phone just broke and i pllaned to get a new one..
So i was searching in some sites and found the xZ1.. immadietly i ran to the store and when i arrived the seller told me that the device is out of stock..,
So i went home and looked on xda to see some reviews and comments about the device
And i found few interesting problems:
1. Touch Screen issue (The screen dont reconize touch)
2. Yellow hue problem (sord of yellow tint on the screen)
3.Bad WiFi reception
So i decided i will test the device infront of the seller and see if the phone is clear of all probs,
Pls tell me if someone from all owners out there, that u got a Xperia Z1 that dont have any problem of the probs i mention above!
I so wanna get it but i afraid those probs are exist on any Z1..

0. I have the Z1 and the only issue I have faced till now is bad Wifi reception WHICH HAS NOW BEEN FIXED on the 4.3 update.
1.Some devices do run into the touch Screen issue, As long as you are within the warranty you can exchange the device.
2. I know some people who own the device and none of them has run into the Yellow hue issue. But if you do Sony has released a Fix, which has been ported on: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2572080
3. Bad wifi reception is not horrible wifi reception, i live in a two floor house and my room is the furthest from a crappy modem. And I still have 1 to 2 bars of Wifi on 4.2 and 4 bars of Wifi on 4.3 (after latest update)
4.Another issue people mention is the Noise on Camera (dots showing on higher resolution pictures) this is due to the professionalism of the camera It requires certain features which sony still has to implement, this camera is The best camera phone!
In general the 4 issues above mentioned should not define your decision, because there are work arounds most of them.
Its an amazing phone and i do not regret getting it.

I bought my device from MEA (I live in Qatar) and my Xperia Z1 has no problems.

Its what i am here for , just hit that thanks meter if you think i helped!

I have the device for 2 days now and I can confirm the yellow hue, but it's only visible when you place the Z1 next to another device with both showing white color. If I wouldn't do that then I wouldn't be able to notice.
As for the touchscreen - I got this issue twice but it was gone after few seconds.
As for the WiFi - if the Internet shared by the router is under load (downloading, sending etc.) it shows regular reception but it drops to 1 bar and pops out an error with connecting.
Other than that, when the Internet is used in a regular way like PPL use YouTube, browse the Web then I have reception like a laptop or better so I can't complain. It's also better than my old xperia play.
As for the camera - It's STUNNING. Honestly - I've never seen a better camera in any phone. Yesterday I took a picture at night when I could barely see anything with my eyes and I actually could disguise a tree.
Don't hesitate to get it. Getting custom rom installed on a LB may be hard but it will be solved soon. I'm more than happy that I got this phone.

Does anyone tried to reproduce the touch problem? (The guide that says to wait 30 seconds with the device naked..)
And didnt experience anything??
I mean, the device is completly fine and didnt have any stops on the touch test?

but any way
all seams to be fine and working well apart from the GPS on the handset
i tried to purge the gps by putting *#*#7378423#*#* in the phone dialer and purge the assistance data with out no joy i also ran a diagnostic from the setting in the phone and it says no gps found test failed,
completely baffled that something so small i guess can be a big problem ( i am talking about the phone here )
could any one please please help as i'm chucking down the gauntlet here
