[Q] Random reboots and almost no battery left - Galaxy S III Mini Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Since Wednesday I have been having some issues with my phone. It reboots by itself and when it boots again it has almost no charge (0 - 10%). I tried flashing the ROM again but it always reboots when connecting to wifi. It's getting annoying.
Does anyone know if this problem is caused by the phone itself or is the battery damaged?
Thanks in advance.

there are about 4 threads on this issue and most have confirmed that the issue is battery related

[Q] Random Reboots

Is anyone else experiencing random reboots at least once a day? I notice that mine has once in a while averaging maybe one a day. Random times.
At least unlike my old Captivate, it reboots and not just shut off.
I get too, I noticed it's from some app's.

Any idea which ones?
The ones from market, I think they don't work with the processor well. I get despite from market camera apps, I even got bootloop 2 times I had to reset the phone.

Same here. I will be sitting there, and all of a sudden, the LG logo shows up and reboots. I went over to the LG forum and stated it there. May not be a bad idea for others to do the same thing so that they realize it is a widespread problem.
Here's the link: http://www.lgforum.com/forum/boards/carriers/at-and-t/topics/random-reboots-on-the-lg-thrill#35919

Mine has had one random reboot, but that's it.
Out of curiosity, is everyone using the stock battery? Or do you use an aftermarket one?
I use both, but it seems to do it with both.
Has any one linked the software version to the problem? Either 10A or 10E?

I'm on 10E
It also seems to be an issue on the Optimus 3D and was on the G2X
I am on my second Thrill (that just sounds funny to me) and I have not had the reboot issue with either of them. The first phone had serious GPS issues and was running V10e. The second device has worked perfectly so far, even GPS, and is curiously on V10d. I tried the LG software, and the on device, update and it states I am currently up to date.
I was not aware there even was a V10d version. The full version number is LGP925-V10d-JUL-20-2011.
I don't know if there is any relation to the software version and random reboots. My original V10e device did not experience this issue. I am thinking it must be a combination of software and settings, or truly defective devices. It is entirely possible that it could be related to software syncing (i.e. email, contacts, etc.) or wireless AP causing some sort of memory leak.
Has anyone noticed any heat issues when their device is rebooting?
i have Thrill "not for sale" , not reboot
has anyone ever come up with a solution to fix this problem with the random reboots. I have yet to flash any of the custom roms. due to the fact that i dont know if that will fix this issue. Any info would b greatly appreciated because i really enjoy this device.

Battery Life Problem (4-5 hours)

My phone was working fine and battery timing was 1.5 to 2 days but accediently i broke my phone's charger (when it was separate from phone). So
I charged my mobile from computer via original usb cable and my phone was heating up alot in these three days while charging, it did'nt happen before during charging. So I purchased a new charger and after 100% charging the battery got completely empty in 4-5 hours and this happens again and again. So I purchased original battery and it is also giving timing of 4-5 hours.
I reset my phone and nothing happend. Even I didn't install any application in my phone.
The OS version is 2.3.6.
Please tell me the solution if there is hardware or software problem.
Hmm... it seems it was your OS. Try flashing other ROM.
I don't think it is a soft problem, is a hardware one. Read the data from the original charger and try to found one exactly like it. (data=input/output/freq)

Data loss upon auto shutdown

I have experience this problem for quite some time, then I think I figured out the root of that problem
It is the battery
Normally the phone shouldn't start when the battery reach 0 but then my battery don't work this way. It continue to start up my phone and end up in endless boot loop
So I tired to use replacement battery and the problem did go away

You got BBM (Blackberry) installed? That is quite the battery drainer I have noticed on my phone....
3g is the most probable drainer. I can get through a day if I use it a lot.
Install Better Battery Stats, or any other app that can read/detect wakelocks, and find out what is keeping your phone awake.

+1
Better battery stats is my staple, and has a free version on XDA somewhere, but support the developer by buying it if you can!
Wat is the problem with 3g if i May ask.? Is it a known problem with 4.3? Think i'm going to downgrade.
