What is AICP?
AICP is known by someone as Ice Cold Project that started on Desire HD and since than evolved as a mature rom with the BEST community you can find!!!
Rom has always been AOKP based so expect all AOKP goodies + new additions.
If there are any bugs, either we will sort them or AOKP team if it conserns their modifications. This rom isn't AOKP supported so no need to report errors or bugs to them!!
You must be on a pure (not modded) 4.4.2 modem

What's Broken:
ROMS
ROMS should contain everything you need to enjoy JB. You are not required to install any Add Ons, simply download the latest ROM, gapps, flash it, and go!
You are STRONGLY recommended to fully wipe your device before flashing, and if possible avoid restoring system apps and system data with Titanium Backup - these can cause stability issues that are very hard to debug. If you believe you know what you're doing - then fine, go ahead, but please don't complain if you experience strange behavior.
PREREQUISITE FOR OTA:
To be able to flash over OTA app, TWRP recovery is needed.
Also aicp gapps are needed for OTA not to FC. they are PA based, so don't worry
You can still use CWM and OTA app, but only to download zip file and flash it manualy from within recovery. Zip gets saved under AICP_ota folder.
How to flash:
Don't do it if you don't know it
ROM has gapps persistance in between dirty flashes
You want to see a normal night at the DEV office, click here!!
If you want to contribute to the AICP or wanna see what is being worked on/merge feel free to visit our gerrit, link is at the bottom!!!
kernel git
rom gerrit
new test build for you guys with an updated kernel
added govs: ondemand, intelliactive, intellidemand, conservative, powersave
also added faux intelliplug(cpu hotplugging)
plus some more stuff I cant remember
source: https://github.com/Drgravy/kernel_lge_msm8974-1/commits/exp
please test and report back
This is a full rom dirty flash should be ok
just wipe cache and dalvik
Thanks

I just flashed it. No lines at all.
One thing I'm noticing is that Adaway isn't working. :-/

We have inbuilt ad blocker... You can check Settings -> AICP extras -> Ad Blocker. Desable it in order to be able to run Adaway... Also you should uncheck Persist Hosts from Rom Control -> Installer.

Thanks for the heads up. I'll give it a whirl. I've been an AOSP user and never been into the built in stuff. I'll give this a good try. Thank you for the response.

So I just rebooted and the lines are there. Down the right side top to bottom.
Edit - The lines are visible in recovery and still when in a stock rooted ROM. Very weird that it was fine until a reboot. Anyone else seen this?

I've been doing this long enough to not blame anyone but myself. I'll do what I have to do to fix it or go buy a new one. I'd definitely pull the download link though if I were the OP.

Guys, read the forums. There's posts on every single aosop thread right now aside from Mahdi that people are getting black lines.
Most Def flash at your own risk.
There's a thread in general where all the people getting lines are converging and sharing information.

People call me a post whore, but honestly this is the reason I'm active on so many places. A lot of people started having this issue with paranoid android.
Mods closed the thread till the op responds. Dr87 thinks it was a caf kernel commit that effected the panel in ways our phone shouldn't be. But no one really knows what is doing it, and if it is fixable.
You much want to just send for warranty unless you want to wait around to see of there is a fix.
Everyone flashing aosp needs to be really careful currently.
One guy reported he took the kitkat oat and it happens, so it very well.might be hardware.

I totally get it, I used to be the same way. You've always seemed helpful to me. Thanks for the heads up. I'll figure out what I'm going to do but I frown upon sending stuff in for warranty when it was my own doing. That's the reason the carriers don't like manipulation of software.
Sent from my VS980 4G using Tapatalk

Keep in mind, I do not own this device, but my two testers do, and I rely heavily on them.
Either way, if you have any questions, first, read the FAQ below, then ask away, dev thread or not.
(Work In Progress) FAQ
Do I have to wipe before flashing??
Always wipe, no matter what ROM you are on now, even if it's a previous version of BlakCM.
I flashed a different kernel and now I'm having an issue, what should I do?
Boot to recovery, wipe everything and reflash BlakCM. I'll only provide support for the kernel integrated into BlakCM.
I see 'So and so" posted a fix for this issue or that, is it safe to flash that fix on BlakCM?
Please make a backup before making any modifications or flashing any 'fixes' from ANYONE. You also flash said fix or mod at your own risk..
My data [3G/4G/LTE] doesn't work, but everyone else's seems fine, how do I fix it?
Flash a Stock ROM and update your profile then flash back to BlakCM.
This ROM is for the carrier in the section it is placed in, if you have problems with data and are on a different carrier,
then you must search elsewhere for a fix or ask around to see if someone else knows.
I flashed the ROM and now I have an issue, what should I do?
Pull a logcat and post it on to pastebin.com, provide a link in this thread to it.
Be detail specific in your post. I need to know if you have modded or changed anything that may cause the issue.
How do I pull a logcat?
Check out this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1726238
Will you add 'this' feature?
Not likely. If you want a feature added unofficially, you should add the feature yourself and post your unofficial build.
When will this 'issue' be fixed?
NO ETA's.
thanks!

Nightlies need not apply. Based on the source used for this build, this would be closer to 9/24-25. Anyhow, I'll sync and compile another build tonight if data is a problem across the board, otherwise, it will be later this week.

Listview Animations? Yes. I have yet to be able to run it myself to tell you with certainty, but I was also told, that listview was updated and I am unaware as to whether or not it has been updated within this source. Either way, there is Listview. Yes.
TEST build uploading now.
I repeat, TEST.

The only issue I ran into were some force closes in settings, and cannot install .apk files from my download folder. It simply would not let me press on install. Other than that, the rom is smooth, and I love the black theme.

To side load apps, go into wherever the setting is to toggle installing non-market apps. Toggle it on and off a few times, see if that works. As for FC's, what part of settings FCd exactly?

Dirty Unicorns (DU) is a custom ROM originally based off AOKP, but now based from OmniROM. DU brings you a great mix of stability and customization. The idea to start a ROM like this was purely out of boredom, but later turned into a form of an addiction, a good one. We began to have fun while still doing things the right way. By doing so, we received high praise from not only our users but by fellow developers of other ROMs that enjoy seeing things done the right way. This ROM will always be free of charge without any strings attached or any of it's developers luring you into donating or any form of "pay to flash".
"Give credit and thanks where is due!" That's something that has fuel the way we do things! With that said, we would like to go ahead and credit those individuals and groups that have made this ROM possible with their original code and contributions to the Android community.....
| OmniROM | AOKP | ChaOS | Paranoidandroid | SlimROMs | Preludedrew | Team Black Out | Official Testers / Translators |
Believe it or not, we are human and we do forget things. If we have left someone out of the credit/thanks list, just PM us and we'll gladly add on to the list.

I dont face any issues with aosp kitkat roms other than random reboot and some games not work due to touch.

I really liked it for the time i tried it but I can't get knock on/off to work for some reason. I will reflash and see if I missed anything.
Edit: Reflashed and knock on works since flashing furnace kernel.
Wooh! DU for vs980. Love it on my nexus 7 and so far runs amazingly on my phone. Thanks!!

Verified MD5 and clean flashed twice with TWRP 2.7.0.0... looked good but no working KnockOn/KnockOff on stock kernel, could have lived with no KnockOff but without working KnockOn had to revert back to Beanstalk. If that gets fixed, will give it another go.

No, you flash the 12b radio if you want rotation. 24a radio on this rom should break your rotation.

Hey guys I am building this ROM blind for the M8 and will really appreciate your feedback. Many Thanks to everyone who is going to use this ROM. ROM is still uploading so please download in around a hour and a half.
Oh man! One of my favorite roms on my N5 comes to M8! Just checked the download and it's only 54mb... Is it still building? Thanks!
Edit: Nevermind, full build is up. Will test today! Thanks again!
Getting a FC when it first boots up on the setup wizard. I tried 2 different gapps too.. Had the same issue with the mokee ROM as well.. I do full wipes so I don't know what I'm doing wrong. Tried out crdroid ROM and no issues.
Anyone else with the immediate setup wizard FC and/or solutions?

Yikes.... couldn't get past set up due to everything force closing... I'm now grossly concerned about force rebooting - because the symptoms so far... are EXACTLY like the encrypted storage scenario... thank **** I won't lose much since this last happened to me yesterday
I came from a full wipe including /system.
At sign in page for Google...
"Unfortunately, the process android.process.media has stopped."
Say OK... pops back up.
EDITS:
OK, cancelled sign in - and got to desktop - successfully done a normal "reboot".. lets see how far I get now....
EDITS (again):
Boom - I'm in.
FYI - if anyone just keeps cancelling the initial force close, you'll get in if you skip entering your Google account details.
As soon as on desktop - hold power - reboot
and once back in everything seems fine (so far)
I love the default holo background on these ROMs. Looking forward to testing all settings

I just wanted to let you know so far so good. I haven't had any force closes and all the settings I've used are working.
I haven't had the chance to call anyone or send mms yet though. Data and WiFi are working well, I haven't had any signal drops that I've noticed. I'm on T-Mobile if that is of any concern.
I haven't had any sound issues with videos or music.
Only problem so far is that WiFi key gets lost after reboot so I have to enter it again... Weird thing is that maybe like 1 out of 10 reboots the key will stay.
Also Resurrection Remix Updater says "Error, no configuration available... This ROM isn't compatible with this a app..."
Otherwise this is definitely a keeper for me, I especially like Pitch Black mode and having the preset CPU profiles are nice too. Will report any findings I get as I get more use, thanks.
I can confirm that this ROM is very stable and quite rock-solid... though; there are a few bugs.
EDIT - 2PM CST
Wifi is not broken, but is a little bent... Though my password is saved; a reboot requires me to "forget" the network and then re-apply its settings. Simply selecting the network and trying to "Connect" does nothing.
"Failed to forget network"
WiFi must be turned OFF and back ON again in order for you to be able to apply any settings.
EDIT - 2:15PM CST
Just notice that under "Developer Options" - the option to "Disable FC alerts" is enabled by default. - WHAT?? NO... no no no no no. This needs to be disabled by default so that after the first boot; you can see if you're getting any initial FCs.
EDIT - 2:45PM CST
"Resurrection Remix Updates" is broken.
Great ROM so far. Always enjoyed RR on galaxy s2

You must be on a pure (not modded) 4.4.2 modem
no need for a JDI specific kernel anymore all the magic happens during the flash of the rom

How to flash:
Don't do it if you don't know it
ROM has gapps persistance in between dirty flashes

this is version 2.8.0.0
credit for twrp goes to @Dees_Troy
also some credit to @dr87 for his automatic panel detection and sharing his sources
I would also like to Thank @Snuzzo for his contributions to our kernel
This has the same thermal protection as AICP, so this recovery should run nice and cool
also included DT2W
This uses the same kernel as AICP

Pretty Good but a couple bugs?
Awesome ROM, snappy as heck. Super stable so far including GPS and Data. I'm using a D800.
Doubletap to wake works.
But rotation is broken. Tried flashing a couple other modems that fixed rotation on one of the other CM/AOKP ROM. Not sure if there is something broken across all CM ROMs?
Thanks awesome work though.:good:

Features/Newest update.
Just updated to the newest nightly. Everything is running nicely.
Couple questions.
1. Can we use a different kernel or could you implement possible sweep to sleep over nav bar?
2. In future release could you add in more customizations for the navbar, such as color change options, or icon change options. Another important missing feature from the navbar I noticed is there is no setting to enable long press actions for the navbar icons?
Great work though. Love the ROM. Thanks!

you're 100% certain your device has a jdi display panel correct?

the g2's have 2 different displays, chances are you have a lgd display type
basically if you flash the rom with the included kernel and you get white lines across the screen you might have a jdi display panel, therefore you would need to flash a jdi kernel
so the jdi kernel in the OP is only for people with a jdi display panel
there is also a display checker app in the forums somewhere but you need to be on the stock ota to get proper results from it
In short.. if you flash the rom and your display is working correctly... don't flash the jdi kernel
Flashed yesterday and so far no issues. I did have to flash twice, first flash it booted to splash screen and vibrated. Powered off reboot to recovery and flashed again.

How is everyone's battery usage? Mines has been decent but definitely not even close to stock ROMs. (Obviously). It has been better using other CM/AOKP ROMs.
Idk if this is normal but the battery usage from Google Now has seemd strangely high compared to other roms. I uninstalled Google Now Launcher because I thought the hotword detection was causing drain.
So I did a uninstall of Google now,(search not launcher), reinstalled & charged battery full and these are some of my usage signs?
Thanks!

About Us:
Dirty Unicorns is a project that started out with no name. It was a project that was first based off AOKP back in the early days of Jelly Bean. In the early days it was just a one man show on one device, the EVO 3D. Since then, many others have joined the project and it has grown exponentially.
We have seen a lot of talent contribute to this project of ours. Big or small, the focus was always on contributing to the community. That is ultimately why we do what we do. After Jelly Bean, we decided to move to a new base, OmniROM. While AOKP was fun, OmniROM proved to be even more exciting base because it challenged us to see what we could do with a project that had different goals in mind. We learned a lot and again, gain contributors. With Lollipop, we moved to an AOSP base with a lot of patches from CAF to make our older devices function as they should. We grew even more and learned a whole lot more.
It has been an awesome learning experience and is still not over! We are still learning every day and continue to move forward. Lastly, we DO NOT accept, nor ask, for donations. We don't believe in that. Everything that is necessary to keep this project going is out of our own pocket. Gerrit, Jenkins, Websites, Devices, etc. We will never ask for a dime. All we do ask, is that you have patience, search, read and try to enjoy the process with us!!

I'm getting a FC from the theme chooser, what gives?
This is due to restoring data/apps from Google. Go ahead and clear data and cache for theme chooser and theme provider then reboot you should be good moving forward.
I changed my LCD density and now the navbar looks weird, what gives?
This is currenly an issue that we are aware of and addressing. For now after you changed density reset navbar layout or stay on the stock density.

Thanks @eocobby721 for testing the ROM and for the screenshots :highfive:
I'm loving the ROM and all of the features. I've noticed that every time I click on the theme manager it fc's.

I also noticed that whenever you select a new wallpaper it fc's and reboots into a boot loop but after a battery pull it boots up just fine. I'm gonna test the ROM out for the rest of the day and will post anything else that I notice.

For theme FC, read the FAQs in OP.... It's a common thing (and it is not the ROM) which has a very simple fix. Check it.
Regarding wallpaper, I haven't got any reports. And as @eocobby721 said it works. Give me some more details...

We have both been running an unofficial build for the past week+ and everything has been superb on the h811.
Any issues we encountered are already stated in the FAQ's in OP
Our build had a media_codecs.xml issue but we replaced with one from Jake W's git and it fixed sound and video playback.
Since this is unofficial thread.... What is preventing you from asking DU to maintain H811 builds?
Thanks for bringing this to XDA, look forward to future builds ?

What is this? Cam app?
Did you try to clear the data from settings -> Apps?
Yeah it is a camera app and did clear cache and cleared data after restart. Not a big deal breaker but just wondering

Well i have no clue why this ROM haven't got yet over 100 posts and thousands of views because this ROM is the best ROM any device can have.
The Advance navigation bar setting make this ROM so unique that no ROM have them.

That's the unfortunate part about these AOSP based ROMS. I too am stuck on the 'awesome camera/wifi calling/volte' stock ROM wave. I really like those features and I'm pretty sure there is no way to bring those core parts back to AOSP. At least I have never heard anyone on here doing it (though I don't browse every phone board so it could have happened that I don't know about).
But, I may have to still check it out. See if it is as smooth as a few others (crdroid) here, and see if it doesn't have the 'back' animation lag.
Definitely appreciate the additions (of ROMs) for our phone though . It is awesome to have choices if we want to change.
Thanks nitin.chobhe.
