Doomlord kernel ruined battery life for me and I haven't tried william kernel.Stock kernel is best for me though.I get about 6 hours of screen time.
Although I think you should try them all for yourself and see which one works best for you.
EDIT:I have heard positive things about william kernel from my friends so I suggest you check that one out first.

Doomlord ruined my battery life also, so williams kernel V5 is little buggy about frequency management on 2nd core but it is really fast and save battery life !

i have great battery life on Doom12 and allthing is fine

There is no such thing as a BEST anything for all people
No one uses their phone the same, has the same apps/signal/setup/usage
Only you can find out what is BEST for YOU
The only thing you will get is a list of all kernels here as if you do the research you will see there are members in every kernel thread that think that one is the best.
BEST threads are closed on XDA because of this very reason

SGS I9000 on CM9; batterylife; kernelversion

Dear all,
Last week I installed CM9 on my SGS GT-I9000. I am very very happy about it as the device works very well and fast
So, that's great!
The only issue I have with CM9 is the short batterylife. I installed CPU-Spy and this app showed that my phone turns into deep sleep when the phone is on stand-by. I also shut down the background processes, put the screen on low light etc.
When I put my telephone on stand by modus, It lasts +- 20 hours which is okay (I think). But when I start using my phone ('whatsapp' some now and than, checking news, nothing special) the battery runs empty in a very short period of time.
What can I do about this issue? I read some threads about changing de kernel version? Which kernel would be the right one? What does it do?
Or is it also an option to switch to CM7? Does CM7 use less battery?
I would really like to hear some of your advices on this :fingers-crossed:
Kind regards,
Jurjen
Stock fws have the best battery life. If you want an other kernel, flash Devil or Semaphore ICS.

Thanks for that. I'm only interested in replacing the kernel if that kernel will improve batterylife Do you think it will?
My current kernel is 3.0.8-g54d09f2 [email protected] #1
Where can I find the Devil or Semaphore kernel?
Kind regards,
Jurjen
Just try them an then choose what's better for you.
You will find them quickly if you look in the I9000 android development forum. Make sure you get the ICS kernels (do not confuse with JB or GB kernels)
Once you switched the kernel, you're not done yet. You may set kernel parameters as governor or scheduler for example to get better battery life.

Need a good non-oc kernel

Basically I have the SGSII JB ROM v10.1 installed and it has an oc-kernel.
I just want a good non-oc-kernel that will give me a good battery life and good performance.
Can somebody recommend me a non-oc-kernel?
Ive look at battery extender 1.6, would this be ok?
Thanks
Almost All the kernels from the stock roms has OC..as per as i know..
Try to Extract Kernel From Original Firmware..
There's Battery Extender 1.5.1 for STOCK roms
batteryExtender1.5.1.zip: 04/08/2012
Fsync was activated for some reason so woops. I deactivated... also some other small changes. Battery driver is the same.
This time NONOC and OC.

download link is for non-oc battery extender 1.5.1
There's Firekernel for CM7
https://dl.dropbox.com/u/1664131/firekernel-09.10.12.zip
That's the latest firekernel as far as I know.
Why are most kernels OC when this is said to damage the phone?

I read somewhere 921mhz OC is stable for ace...

[poll] what is the best kernel for the official ics ?

hey guys ,, i have finished all my work on viperx but im having difficulties for finding a suitable kernel to use without getting big battery drain ,,please select wisely ONLY according to battery life
I just tried Noobys kernel apart from stock one, I sometimes get excelent battery life, using almost 5hours of wifi, like 48 hours, but some days i cant get through the day, I think is related to my installed apps..
I wish i had tried more kernels to help you decide which one to use in your ROM, because im actually using Nemesis 2, but happens that i find both (rom+kernel) very stable for everyday use, and want to keep it like that.

IMO, The most important thing to chose a kernel is first it should stable, then good battery life. For include in your ROM I suggest you use the kernel that stable for everyone. As you know, every device has it own limitation, how high it can handle the clock, how low it can handle the voltage.
Why?
Some user dont know what custom kernel is, and what the advantages and disadvantages if using custom kernel. Some user usually flash and use the ROM as it is. If they flash the ROM and the ROM doesnt stable for them, mostlikely they will say something like "The ROM is not stable, I got SOD" or "This ROM is sucks, often reboot by itself". Yes, they will blame the ROM, whereas actually it because their device cant handle the UV or OC kernel.
Also you can write suggestion to use custom kernel to gain more battery life/performance in your ROM's thread.
The users can easily to flash other kernel that they like after they flash the ROM.
Well, this is just my thought. The decisions is up to you
----------------
as for the poll, I choose ZGK v0.1-beta, coz:
- 200/500/700/1000/1100 (OC not too high so it save, 200 as min clock good battery in deep sleep)
- stock voltage (no SOD)
- stable for my old P970, and battery drain is good enough

[Q] Best Kernel to extend Battery Life

Hi guys, m currently using StockLite V8 ROM and BE 1.2 Kernel. Can somebody please tell me which Kernel i should use to enhance my battery life?
Actually the battery life i'm getting now is good but after reading a few posts am confused.
As the review of BE 1.6 is mixed. Also have read about PSN Kernel, Nimm's Kernel and Space Kernel.
Can somebody please suggest me which kernel would be apt for me?
I am looking for smooth performance and powerful Battery.

I think you are as good as your are going to get. try fly-on mod or wolfscropt for smooth ness. i have tried space kernel and I dont see a difference....but thats me.
I got a 1500mah polar cell battery fom ebay, it was 130 South African Rand, and it works.
I used to get 2 hours or more screen on time on CM7.2 Democracy rom, now its abought 3 hours.
I love my Ace now

Mi Max 2 real battery life with different kernels.

Hello guys,
which kernel did you find best in custom roms.
which rom is best for battery backup?
which kernel will you prefer for good battery life.
I would like to give my opinion to hardrock_87 kernel and suicide-silicon kernel. They both kernel having good performance and battery backup....2

I was using hardrock v14 and Battery profile v3. Battery backup and performance was very good. No lag, good multitasking, and better battery backup than stock 7.1 rom.
I live in iran and have to run VPN for allmost all sites and apps! (censorship ? ?). I'm using social apps along a day and didn't charge my phone for about two days and it's awesome.
From yesterday i installed HardRock Kernell v15 and using Profile v4. Its good for now but i can not talk about it right now. I will give you feedback soon.
