[Q] Help! Post-Root problems - Galaxy S 4 Active Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey all, I recently tired to root my SGH-i537 att active but ran into problems afterwards. After I rooted I would boot up my phone with a unlock icon, not a big problem, but i was getting security notices an was unable to even slide the wi-fi search to on let alone connect to one. Another problem i ran into was my kernel was destroying my battery! i would charge for 6 hours and only go up to 70% ot have it die in an hour. After all that frustration i unrooted using the SuperSU unroot button. While I am now unrooted(i think) my battery is still dying insanely quickly, I cannot even attempt to connect to wi-fi, and i am still booting up with the unlocked icon. At this point I just want to wipe it and start new but when i did a factory reset all of the problems listed above were still occurring. Should I find a stock ROM and try and have that downloaded on? I have no clue what to do and i need help please D:.

Stuck on LG screen!

Hi guys,
Im new here and I wanted to post this in the FEAR developement thread, but for some reason I cant, anyway
Im on FEAR 8.0 and it has been running smothly. Today somehow my whatsapp, facebook etc always was forced to shut down when I tried to open it. So I rebooted an now Im stuck on the LG screen. Sometimes it freezes there, sometimes it reboots to the LG screen again!
Any ideas?
Thanks.
Well, seems that the system (Android) has crashed on your phone due to some unknown reason.
The only thing you can do is to do a factory reset (from ClockwordMod Recovery which I assume you have installed).
Yes I think I have it installed, but how does that help me if I cant access the phone anymore? Is there a manual for the reset process?
Is there no way to get the data off the phone, because that would suck big time
Go back to stock rom, search my thread to see how!
At the moment the ROM is not really my concern!
The only concern is my data!
I need a way to get it
Update:
Installed FEAR 10 without full wipe and everything is still there and running

[Q] Unable to restart phone

Hi guys,
Hoping someone here has the knowledge to help with my little problem!
My phone battery died a few days ago. When I got home to recharge I found the charging LED wouldn't show and also the phone wouldn't restart.
After several attempts I resorted to flashing the ROM again. I got it up and running, but then again by restarting manually again the phone went into a bootloop and wouldn't start up.
Has anyone experienced this before? I've had no issues previously but this is really starting to bug me. Means I can't run Xposed modules etc that need a reboot. I've now installed the ROM 3 times and tried clearing the cache after each.
Running ARHD 51.0 with stock kernel.
Many thanks in advance!
Neil

[Q] HTC One m7 - System rebooting and can't update

Hi,
About two weeks ago, after running out of battery completely, my phone started rebooting once I charged it back. It boots without a problem, and I'm able to use for about 15 seconds, then it reboots. I'm able to boot into recovery and perform a factory reset, which apparently fixes the problem, but then I can't update to sense 6. Once the update fails, the rebooting problem returns. So I had basically given up updating. However, today, after turning off the phone to charge it, it started rebooting again after I turned it on.
I read a couple threads and imo the problem is a mix of these two:

My device has unlocked bootloader and is rooted.
Please help.
@alray I started a new thread, since the problems were a little different. If you can continue to help, it will be very much appreciated.

[Q] HTC One M7 - Noscreen lock/off after Android Lollipop update

Hello everyone,
I received an OTA update last night for my phone for Android Lollipop. If I had known better, I wouldn't have updated it.
Since the update, my screen doesn't timeout or lock, it just restarts. If I press the power button to turn the screen off, it restarts. I can either shut the phone off completely or keep the screen on, which obviously kills the battery pretty quick.
I tried doing factory reset already, issue is still there. I tried wiping cache partition, same issue.
At this point, I would really like to downgrade to KitKat. Is that possible? And if so, how? I'm on a Vodafone UK contract. My phone is not unlocked.
Any other solution that might help. I don't know what else to do. Please help.

sounds like your phone is broken ..return it if it's Locked and never rooted
Finally fixed
In the end, I had to unlock the bootloader, root the phone and flash a customer ROM (Android Revolution). It worked! Now, I can finally switch my screen off without the phone restarting!
Thanks,
Rose

you also lost your warranty in the process. If it had not worked you would have been stuck paying for a repair
I'm happy it worked out for you

phone keep on rebooting when fully charged

my phone start acting up. i charged it to a 100% then it would keep on restarting till it reach 60% or 30% and then it would quickly drain the battery away... can any body help me solved this problem, i really love my phone.. I'm in India by the way :crying:
Are you rooted? OS version?
Can you provide more details from when this started to happen?
Thank me if I helped you!
I'm not rooted, and my os is 5.1.1 happened last month.. i tried doing a factory reset still didn't do me any good
Last update for Moto X is 5.1 not 5.1.1
You maybe can try factory reset because you are stock
I've tried to reset it, it doesn't work apparently, it got stuck at the Motorola logo and same thing happen if I use the recovery mode sometimes I can't even go to recovery any expert suggestions?
