Damm...wrong button..well, ok, you have tnx now
Use rom thread to ask something related to it.
But yes, you should use bin folder for 6909, you probably don't have right files.
Ask on thread and guys will help you, someone will have same device..

im less then 10 posts i cant post on the development threads
so thats why i posted here, i tried a 6906 ftf and it didnt work, figured out gps and mobile network are not working.
great rom tho i like it i just want it to work correctly

After read the posts above, I decided to ask before do anything...
My Z1 is C6943, and I was thinking if this ROM will work if I flash the C6943 kernel after flash the ROM.
They said "We only support c6902 and c6903, you can try it but we give no guarantee". So, here I am... and the question is: It will work??? or I'll have the same problems with mobile data and GPS and possibly other things?
In another scenario, what if I flash via flashtools the C6903 kernel after flash the ROM?

im gonna just wait till they support 6906 , went to the evo black rom so i could get my internet back,
wtb a paranoid android rom for locked bootloaders zz

YES!!! Is there a light!!!
I just Installed the ROM a few minutes ago, and everyhting is working!
That is what I did:
First off all, I wipe the phone under Wipe/Factory reset.
Installed the ROM from external SD Card, and then POWER OFF instead reboot.
Holding volume down, I plug the USB and then flashed the stripped FTF for C6943.
Now I have the ROM working, with GPS, Mobile Data, WIFI, NFC and everything else.
Don't know yet if I have something with misbehavior, because I did it 10 minutes ago.
Well, is it. Thanks!!!

GREAT
Someone else who follows the instructions and is so surprised it works he has to share how he did it...and basically quotes the install instructions...

Hi gregbradley, first of all, I have to say thank you...
I follow your posts and I see every day your effort to help people like me.
I know your acknowledgement about many many things, and it helps me to clarify a LOT of doubts without even PM you or even ask silly question, even when I know that you can be ironic and a little rude sometime. (I'm saying by me, about my perceptions)
About your comment I want to say 3 things:
1 Yes, I shared how I did it, if you read my posts above, you will see that I was afraid to be on a boot loop after flash the ROM, or don't have mobile data and other functionalities after that.
2 Yes, I basically quote the install instructions to show how easy was the installation for those who want to do the same. Spread the word is what I believe.
And
3 It's not my first android phone that I root, install custom ROMs, flash kernels, etc... I just want to prevent to do something wrong and transform my phone in a beautiful piece of nothing...
Again, thank you for all your support on XDA forums, and I'm sure that you makes this place better and better everyday.

Well said, and I apologise if you thought I was being rude, that was not my intention

[Q] Rooting and upgrading to Jelly Bean

Hello,
I'm sorry if this question has been asked before, I am not good at this and very nervous of doing something wrong and destroying my mobile... If you could please help me?!
My Galaxy S is:
Frimware version
2.3.3
Baseband version
I9000BWJV2
Kernel version
2.6.35.7-I9000XWJVH-CL184813*[email protected]*#2
Build nr
Gingerbread.xwjvh
The mobile is very very slow and very difficult to use because of this. I have seen that I can root the mobile and upgrade it to Jelly Bean, and hopefully my problems will be resolved...
I am just not sure what kind of programme I should download to root it... also I'm very nervous about in what steps I need to go about to upgrading to Jelly Bean and what I need to download and in what order to do this.
I'm not sure what I download to my laptop's desktop and what I need on my mobile itself...
If you could help me with a step by step guide I would be eternally grateful.
Many Many Thanks
Wishing you all Happy Holidays.
Kaarina

Hi I did search, but didn't find what you just sent me, just other threads that didn't seem to fit what I wanted to do.
Sorry for bothering you, I can only say I never done anything like this before, and am not skilled at this. Being an older person, I can't believe I'm even going try this on my own...
Many Thanks and wish me good luck.

Bricking an i9000 is rare, unless you flash firmware for a different phone or pull the cable halfway.

Basically what you're doing is flashing the newest GB firmware for your phone using Odin and then rooting it, also using Odin. After that you have access to " recovery mode", from which you simply choose a zip file with your ICS or JB ROM and flash it.
If your phone is normally working now, I suggest you retry. This process is fairly simple, given you follow all the steps.
Edit: wait, looks like you have a Brazilian i9000.
Since you're using a Brazilian I9000B, disregard what i wrote above, most ROMs aren't compatible, read this

[Q] Xperia T help

Hi,
I have a Xperia T with bootloader unlocked (which removes warranty) and a custom rom, but I want to lock the bootloader again and go back to the stock ROM. I don't know which ROM it is because my friend did it all for me, but he is not my friend anymore and doesn't want to help me with my phone. I dont want the custom rom because i dont see any use to it and some things dont work like WhatsApp and the camera.
So my questions are: Can i go back to stock ROM, if so how?
Can i Re-lock the bootloader so my warranty will be back. Or at least a way to hide that i have had a custom rom?
Thanks in advance !!!

Then you got to be a bit more careful... :/ Did your freind not tell you that you would loose warranty?\
Just flash greg bradleys rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2007736
Read the instructions for unlocked bootloader.. flash probs the advanced stock kernel... then his rom! it seems to be based off stock but a bit better! as i dont know if yo ucan go back to official stock sony or not sorry i dont even have the T yet im jsut basing off my experince from the x10
Flash kernel boot into cwm (pressing volume down repeatedly i think)
Flash the rom and reboot!
I take no resposibilty..

No he told me i could remove it. Also, do you lose warranty for physical damage? Like i have a case on my T but on the corners the matte is coming off a little? I dont know why i care for it very well!
I can't unlock my bootloader, sadly
Unfortunately, a lot of people are complaining about the matte finish peeling off. I for one have it on the lower left corner, and I really baby the phone. I don't even put it on hard surfaces but usually on a school workbook.
Anyway, you can find a lot of information in the following threads:
-All in one Q&A thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1903137

I dont know how you can remove it... i dont think theres a way to relock bootloader as of now.. i could be worng though! Maybe check out s1tool or osmething google it! And no that issue has been reported its not your fault... if you cna get your bl relocked you can send it back to them for that damage \
Try this to relock bootloader.. but read the whole thread as idk what it could do to your device...

Again i take absolutley no repsobility here!

Search for flashtool version 0.9.9.0 and download.
Download .ftf file of the firmware you want to flash and place it in flashtool firmware folder.
Start flashtool.exe and follow instructions. Leave all boxes ticked (wipe dalvik, user data, baseband etc)

You can open multiple question threads in Q&A section but if all your questions pertain to, in this case, flashing a ROM, a single thread should do.
Also, keep in mind that many of the members of this forum will not answer simple generic inquiries. It is up to you to search the forum to find the answers, if possible.

[Q] [Req] Easy method to Root .253....?

Hello all,
I know this has been already asked and some of us have found solution to rooting of .253 FW but it is very complicated and while doing it, someone may brick the device.. So can anyone n specially Doom find a better n easy way of rooting it? just like we had for .350 n .434 FW.. Please see it will be very helpful.. Downloading multiple ftf/zip is confusing n time consuming...
1. No need for ANOTHER thread on this. There are already 2 on the first page.
2. Do you think it is that easy? You just ask and somebody produces an easy way to root the new firmware? If you are a "Software test engineer" as your profile states, then you should have an idea of the difficulties involved.

Software in this case is probably html and engineer in this case probably means testing web pages in multiple different browsers to see if the pages break.

Yes, I know there must be difficulties involved.. but if u rememeber, DoomLord had acquired the root access even before the device was launched in India.. So if he could do, he certainly can do something like that again.. Hopefully no need to flash multiple FTF/zips, it just increases the confusion..

My point was that this thread is completely pointless and unnecessary. Do you think devs are just sitting around waiting for someone to ask this and they then think "Hey, he's right! I'll get right on it and make a one click solution!"?
It's not that simple. The exploit used to root with a locked bootloader has been patched and there is no guarantee that another can be found.

Yes, I do understand that it is quite difficult to get another exploit to gain the root access.. still it was just a humble request..
Rather than sit around and "request" (I like to think of it as demanding rather than requesting), you have 2 options:
1. Wait.
2. Find the exploit yourself.

+1, and if you're finding it too "complicated" then you need to READ any instructions again, and get used to it because whenever a new FW is released the existing methods will either work or not and requires a bit of thought, or you need to be patient and wait for new solution, starting new threads isn't going to speed up the process.

i think we can flash 253 ftf file with flash tool , exclude system.sin this could keep your root access.
You may say he's been a noob or whatever but i've come from samsung devices and i'm having difficulty working out how to do this on the XZ, i understand new software, but even on .434 i only had root as i found recovery installs confusing.
Even with ODIN on samsung you flashed a ROM, then a RECOVERY and you were good to go.
If Flashtool could install recovery i'd probably be ok, but like this guy a one click root would be great as the sony way seems confusing first time round

Then get on with creating it lol.
Like I already said, it's not as simple as just asking for it. Somebody has to actually find a new exploit (no easy task, if it's actually possible) then create a package to perform that exploit.
If the current method is too confusing, then don't use it. This site is supposedly for development anyway, not for holding people's hands

Cam mods close these kind of threads, it's flooding.
Come on it is very easy to upgrade root the new firmware just follow steps of NUT gave in his post. I did it in a few minutes and didnt lost any data in the process. (only my mods was lost but it is expected )
I cant understand people what more do you want? ıt is like do this than do that and done!
Waiting on a easy way or exploit aswel,i updated and now i see how much i love root,im gettin really annoyee with the ads fo exsample

Rather than sit around and "request" (I like to think of it as demanding rather than requesting), you have 2 options:
1. Wait.
2. Find the exploit yourself.

I returned to .434 for two reason,
1, It's clean
2, give me better battery life/performance
3, it's my to mod, and nobody messed with it.

Xperia Z T-Mobile ROM

Hi everyone. I have T-Mobile XPeria Z running latest 4.2.2 firmware.I tried flashing some custom roms but not of them work. If anyone has succesfuly done so, can you please show me how or link to a guide. I would really appreciate it. thanks
The tmobile variant has a locked bootloader so youre limited to lb roms. And no custom kernels
Sent from my C6603 using xda app-developers app
Well, I tried ones for locked bootloaders and followed all instructions.
Well just... Read harder because I'm on a tmo xperia z running existenz
Sent from my C6603 using xda app-developers app
Crap. I tried existenz, but it stuck on bootloop, i think I got to boot logo and the rebooting
I've had similar issues and after a phone hard bricked randomly after a reboot I just run stock rooted now. I would love to be confident in custom ROMs on this device as I am with my Asus Transformer.
If anyone has any suggestions it would help. Do we need to flash rooms in sequence to the version we want? Do we need to change our version to a 6603?

I'm in the same boat. Spent the better part of last night flashing and recovering from bootloops over and over. I am okay with the stock rooted ROM, but at this point my battery life sucks and it is bloatware that is causing the brunt of it. I would love me some stock Android.
Just make sure that you have followed instructions exactly. Make sure you flash whatever kernel is listed with flashtools after flashing the ROM.
Been rooted/custom stock ROM since day 1 with my t-mobile C6606 and haven't experienced any problems.
Best bet is to start from scratch by flashing a complete generic 4.2 ROM with flashtool, root/recover, and then upgrade to pre-rooted ROM.
Sure you are aware, but you will lose the t-mobile specific functions (wifi calling), but also the bloat if you move to a custom stock ROM like eXistenZ.

Do you have a suggested generic 4.2 ROM in mind or just look for an unbranded 6603 4.2 ROM .ftf and flash with flashtool? Then root, install XZR and follow directions for what ever desired stock based ROM such as .101, correct?
And Im assuming, do not flash the baseband for the 6603 or other non 6606 device, correct?

Flash custom stock ROM of your choice. There may be an easier way than this, but this is the route I have taken and all has worked well.
T-mobile APN's for 3G/4G/LTE. I input these every time I clean flash. I confirmed these settings with a friends moto x that is completely stock » http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2236735 4G will actually show as H+ by the signal bars.
If you run into any problems let me know and I'll try to help. Just take your time and follow all instructions. It's well worth it rather than waiting on t-mobile to push our updates, especially now that KK has been officially announced for Q2 (hopefully May). T-mobile will probably be another 2-3 months behind that.
TMo will probably be further behind than that as we don't even have an official 4.3 yet.
Thanks for the instructions. That's exactly what I have been looking for. I'll give that a shot asap, when I get the courage to flash the phone. Probably the next day our two.

Yeah I tried doing this method and now I'm stuck in the boot loop at the sony logo screen. Still not giving up though, am I suppose to flash Update to .101 after or before installation of the rom. I installed the rom prior and now my phone is stuck in bootloop.. I tried using Sony recovery and flash tool to get it back, but it wont recognize my phone and if it does its for a second. I can get it in fastboot mode and CWM and that's it..now I'm stuck AGAIN atm..

Somehow I was able to get and keep it in flashmode and flash the whole firmware C6603_10.3.1.A.2.67_Generic UK. Looks like I'm back from start one! So again, am I suppose to flash .101 before or after the rom is installed?
To be on the safe side make sure you install everything in the order that I posted them following instructions. Work your way to the .101 pre-rooted ROM.
When you get to the .101 ROM
flash .zip provided in recovery
Do not reboot after flashing .zip, in twrp go to power off
Then flash everything in the .ftf with flashtool
Reboot and you should be good.
Also make sure you have the latest flashtool and drivers loaded. Never hurts to check the obvious too like USB debugging..

Thanks it's completed now I got it! Wicked cool features on this.. Now I'm going to read around and get to know all this a little better now that I got this working. :good:.
What steps in the process would I have to omit if I dont want to root and just want to flash 4.3, Also there seems to be many versions of 4.3 such as UK unbranded Ch unbranded. If I'm using it for Tmobile US, which would I choose?
Never mind! Used the UK unbranded and I love it! everything worked nicely! thanks so much for this!

Hey man yeah everything seems to be perfect except for the MMS aspect of my messages. I can't seem to download the MMS messages, the default texting app keeps telling me that "Could not download message. Check settings for multimedia messages and try again later" I tried the APN settings to the forum you directed us too but that's not working =(

Make sure the APN you created is selected and then reboot after.
Make sure LTE (preferred) is selected.
Once verified APN is selected and reboot, go to MMS and long press picture, select download. It should DL after that.
If that doesn't work you can also try to "Service Providers" and there should be an option for a T-Mobile network.
Can also try turning on/off airplane mode, but the APN always works for me.

Installing official firmware again

Hi,
Not sure if I'm in the right place, but I have the Sony Xperia Z and recently got it rooted to the Cyanogenmod, but not quite liking it.
My dislike isn't necessarily the firmware itself, it is that I really like the Sony-made functions, specifically the camera (it's better quality than what Cyanogenmod is giving me)
So my question, if I install the official firmware back onto the phone, is it still rooted? Can I still go into recovery mode, for example?
I see XZDualRecovery on my memory card, as long as I keep it there, will recovery mode work?
If the only way to keep these stuff working is use a custom firmware, then out of the many firmwares out here, which one still uses the Sony features? Which one is actually based on the official firmware?
I see a lot but all the new terms and options out there is just confusing.
Thank you.
Please do not post any thread like this in here. Its A development Thread. Pls read some rules before posting in xda..
And now u r in cm 11. After flashing stock firmware u will lost root and cwm recovery. 100℅. Otherwise download any stock rom and flash it. Pls don't ask which rom is good. All roms r good.
Best regards..
Hi, thank you for your response.
As mentioned, I don't know if I'm in the right place. I just noticed the other sections; I'm happy for moderators to move this to the correct place.
Also, I think you misunderstood my question.
Yes, I know all custom firmwares are good - but I'm asking which one is still using Sony's features? I really want to have the Cybershot quality of photos.
If there is a custom firmware out there, which is it? I ask because it's confusing as I'm new to the various terminologies used here. EG. http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z/orig-development/kma-cm-11-101-sony-kernel-blobs-t2708325
Does that mean it's still using all of what Sony offers, then more? Or just meaning this is for Sony phones?
So my concern again is, which custom firmware is still using Sony's features?
If there's none, then thank you for answering my other question - I guess if I decide to go back to the official firmware, I will not have all the features of a rooted phone, which is unfortunate. But i just had a thought, I remember during my initial rooting stage, before installing CFW, it was all rooted and all. Does that mean, if I go back to OFW, then root it again, as long as I don't install a CFW, I can still use the OFW with rooted features? (as in, download superuser and stuff like that to use)
But yes, please, any moderators out there, feel free to move this to the correct section. Sorry.
Well, decided to reinstall the official firmware - will now root it and keep it on the official firmware.
Thank you.
Use flash tool to get back, then root it with towel.
That's it
@bitsnpieces There are some explaination for almost all terminologies in android. here you go
Awesome Orangewanted - thank you for the link.
@K9998 - yep, that's what I did in the end - took some time to get it all working but super happy with what I have now. Also been reading that Sony's 4.4.2 KitKat has problems so I'll probably be on 4.3 for a while, also because it still has some sort of SIM support which I prefer to use...
Use .233 firmware

You can use .233 firmware and flash true Flashtools. I dont see any problems with 4.4.2 Sony Firmware ( not acording to battery drain, but its google fault not Sony ) Here is the link Firmware .233
Awesome! That's exactly what I was looking for (of course, previously had no idea how to do it, but worked it now, and didn't know where to get the stuff I wanted, which now there is).
However, my biggest beef is that, from what I understand, Google removed SIM card support in KitKat? Because my contacts are all on SIM (and though I can save it to card, and then just transfer them over to KitKat contacts, I don't like linking my Facebook and Skype accounts, etc, into my contacts... Thus when I was using Cyanogenmod... Contacts was just a mess), does Sony's KitKat version still support SIM usage (incase Sony worked out a way to keep it working)?
It'll have the Cyber-shot camera which I'm happy about (presuming they kept it in KitKat), but SIM is the next big thing for me...
Please post questions and troubleshooting posts in the Q&A/Troubleshooting section.
You will receive help much more quickly if you post in the correct section
