I'm posting this for us sprint user's.I feel it important since we are waiting for specific band's to be enabled for spark to work.I've already installed the factory img from Google and no spark.I contacted sprint and was told it was Google working on our Sprint specific 4.4.3 update.Anyway can someone when they get the ota can you let me/us sprint user's now.Maybe I or one of us can can walk you through making it into a flash able zip.Thank you.
There is no Sprint specific OTA, everyone gets the same update regardless of what carrier they are on. The Sprint Spark update is already in the existing update, I sideloaded the OTA and it enabled the spark bands.
You're just not a Spark tower.
What are you talking about?
There is no sprint specific update.
If spark is the only concern, I've been using spark for last few months with the .15 radio.... Without 4.4.3. However if u flashed any 4.4.3 ROM u should have spark. U might not b in the spark enabled area.

Wait I beg to differ,I read from A.P on twitter Sprint will specificly be sending out a update ending 6/9 for those band's to be enabled for us less fortunate cdma user's.

Sprint says that the Nexus 5 update will be rolling out until June 9th which means that it could take a little less than a week for the 90MB update to land for Nexus 5 owners around the U.S. and around the world. Sprint also says that the update will enable Sprint Spark band 26 and band 41 for its Nexus 5 users.
I will link the page in a second.http://www.gottabemobile.com/2014/06/03/nexus-5-android-4-4-3-kitkat-update-now-available/ scroll down and you will see what am talking about?

My bands are all enabled with 4.4.3 but I had enabled them previously. You guys are saying this update is not enabling all band?
There's no specific update for Sprint. 4.4.3 and it's new radio enabled all the sprint radios.
Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
This update enables all bands. I know cuz I reset my data by dialing *#*#72786#*#* before taking the OTA and only band 25 was enabled. Then after the OTA all bands showed as enabled... Notice the band 41 I'm now connected to???

Priority is listed now as 1,1,1. You can change it to allow band 41 to be number 1, but you'd still most likely connect to 25.

It is the same update. Nothing carrier specific. The Sprint site says that the OTA is rolling out until June 9. So anywhere between now and then it will be released via OTA if you havent already sideloaded it. I read the tweet, it says the Nexus 5 OTA, not Sprint Nexus 5 OTA, is rolling out in batches until June 9. T-Mobile said the same thing. If you go the the Sprint support site for the Nexus 5.. same build KTU84M is listed.

Sorry but you are wrong. Sprint is just posting the OTA schedule for 4.4.3. What enables spark is the radio update included in 4.4.3. There is no way for Sprint to update that remotely since they have no control over OTA updates for Nexus 5 phones.

It's not HTC. There are many parties involved when an update is released on a Carrier phone as opposed to a unbranded phone.

I appears that this update being pushed to the phones if China Telecom or some other Operators. The rough order is Google releases an update. OEMs get it working on theier hardware and add there stuff to it. Then the OEMs send it to unbranded phones and/or the Operators for them to put their stuff in it and test per thier networks. Then the Carriers push an update.
My guess here is that the Chinese Operators did not care to do much testing or what they did was fine, where as I read HTC was not happy with some of the firmware in the 4.2.2 update and have slightly delayed pushing thier's out. That seems awfully scary if an Operator is rushing something out.

You just dissed every American carrier that carries the One.
Even the sprint and Verizon GS4s received GE edition ROM ports, which has me going crazy. I'm seriously considering ditching my ONE for the GS4. Not to mention the signal for LTE on this phone is seriously getting to me in places I had perfect LTE with my GS3

No demanding. Just frustrated with HTC at this point. 4.2.2 was supposed to be out mid June. It is now July. I had confidence in the ONE but I'm losing it quickly and so are some other people. No projected date, statement, acknowledgment to customers. This is why I left the EVO LTE. I had a soft spot in my heart because of the original OG Evo but it is starting to leave.

Just been on chat with EE for the second time this week. They just confirmed that they will be carrying the nexus 5 from the 28th of this month. They also confirmed that it will be available on both LTE and standard 3G plans here in the UK, they will also be offering the phone on pay as you go contracts at a starting price of £230 for 16GB and £250 for 32GB. I know its not much info but it is confirmed which is nice. Should be able to get hands on with this phone very soon!
Hmmm I winder how much of this is true

Uk prices are completely false.
If it's out on the 28th in the UK, I wonder if that means it'll be out in the US sooner

Pretty true actually The nexus 5 is by far the most leaked android smartphone, with leaks from official partners and Google! Google was the first to leak the nexus 5, in there introduction video of android 4.4, which has now been removed from youtube. Later, about 2 days, KitKat's official FaceBook page added a comment on a post confirming android 4.4. Then Qualcomm confirmed some hardware specs of the Nexus 5, followed by a video of the nexus 5 running android 4.4 (also removed). And just yesterday, Google accidentally post the nexus 5 on there site, which seems a little odd
Honestly, I have a conspiracy that Google is just setting up the android world, and at the Google I/O event (Google's release party) release a totally different phone and a new android 4.4 UI:laugh:

What about the FCC certifications? Even if it was red herring, wouldn't we get see some other phone get approval? Do you think Google orchestrated the whole gub'ment shutdown so that they could sneak in a phone for approval and not have the FCC leak it since they were shutdown?

We UK peeps always get dirtily ripped off in the conversion game. Those prices would not represent that. I suspect something is off.

Since when do we get official release dates from EE reps, whoever the heck that is.
They should not allow any more new threads to be made in this section until Google officially announces it. These confirmation threads have gotten to be a joke.

Sorry if this is a dumb question but this if my first unlocked/non-carrier phone. I've always been with Verizon and have grown accustomed to waiting 1+ years to get updates.
I just got my N6 on Friday and the latest OS version available is 5.0.1. I'm seeing news articles all over the place going back as far as early March saying that AT&T/Tmobile customers are getting 5.1.1 OTA updates. I was under the impression when I bought my N6, that because I'm buying a non-carrier/vanilla Google variant of the phone, I'd be one of the first to receive new Android updates, and that carriers would be the ones lagging behind. Yet it seems the exact opposite.
I'm currently running build LRX22C 5.0.1 on Cricket Wireless. Should I be expecting a new update any time soon, or are we required to manually flash it or something?

I received mine from Moto on Thursday of last week. Before putting in my VZW SIM, I connected to wifi and it updated me all the way to 5.1.1(in increments of course). I think in your case, your SIM(carrier) is what's limiting you from updating. Try pulling your SIM rebooting and check for updates. If that doesnt work, you can do a factory reset and leave your SIM out, connect to wifi then see if you get the updates. Since its a Nexus, you can always manually flash the latest.:good:

Thank you. I just shut down, pulled sim, turned back on and checked for updates. Not available unfortunately, still showing 5.0.1 to be the latest.
You mentioned you just got yours on Thursday - is Motorola just now starting to roll this update out or did you just happen to get yours Thursday for whatever reason?

I ordered the phone Sat night from Moto and received it last Thurs. I had been reading through the forums here and saw several mention about how to get the phone to update to the latest version so and soon as I opened the box, I turned the hotspot on from my other phone, connected the Nexus 6 to it via wifi and all the updates started downloading(5.01, 5.1, 5.1.1). I think the updates are controlled by Google then the carriers not Moto. Try suggestion #2 if you dont mind starting from scratch
all the updates get controlled by google, after carrier approval. but, google does not promise updates asap. they promise updates within 3 weeks. being a google play device, you'd get the no carrier update only on WiFi. and with it having the Verizon sim in it, it'll get an update after Verizon approves the update.

I just went up to Best Buy and bought an unlocked N6 without service. Comes without a SIM by default. I ran straight up to a Game Stop and bought service through Cricket Wireless and got a SIM from them.
For the record, I'm not a fan of Best Buy but all online retailers I could buy it from had tax in my state, so I figured I might as well skip waiting on shipping and just buy locally.

Ok, I got the Samsung Gear S2 watch which runs on 4g today thinking the Nexus 6 at least had HD Voice because the 5 did and you have to have it to connect to A&T's NumberSync or it wont work on 4g and its useless. Anyway, I got everything to work except I couldn't get it to connect to the NumberSync with the error "We are sorry. We cannot set up NumberSync because your device does not have HD Voice...." I called AT&T and they asked for my IMEI number and that will tell them and they said it must not have HD Voice. Is there some way I can get this enabled on this phone so I can use this?
Thanks!

and what does hd voice have to do with Volte??? Volte = voice over lte. without volte, lte is only a data line, with volte it is also a voice line.
Heck if I know I just said VoLTE and she said yes but the error said HD voice... Ill change the title

if you make a call on lte, and you have voice, then its on.
Im not sure if the phone has it. I keep reading Verizon version does but AT&T dont at the time. Here is someting else. I thought she said my phone was coming up as something else but the IMEI number I gave her was correct or the same as I read off.
if you go to the main settings, more, cellular network, turn on enhanced 4G LTE mode.

the n6 does have hd calling, the n6p and 5x do not http://www.verizonwireless.com/support/knowledge-base-145887/
only on Verizon, at&t won't acknowledge that it is HD voice capable, from what I've read online of course.... Good luck and keep us updated.

its the same phone on all the networks, but i guess it might not be capable on every network(depending on their methods). anyways, it has hd voice on tmobile as well, not just verizon.

You are correct that it is the same phone on all networks, hence why I said at&t won't acknowledge it as being HD voice capable[emoji2]

Whats weird is i dont have the option to turn it on in my phone settings and its an unlocked phone. The setting to turn it on/ off is there if i go to *#*#4636#*#* but the button is set to on and wont switch back and forth. There is supposed to be a nother setting under More/Cellular Networks/Preferred Network Type called extended and mine isnt there.

Does your phone company support VoLTE on this phone specifically?
The various Android 8 roms should support it if it works on stock. But many telcos check the specific model of the phone, and only enables it on the models that they have approved.

I'm on a AT&T MVNO (Red Pocket Mobile) so I don't know. But if you're talking about the backbone (AT&T) I still don't know because I believe my N6 was purchased from Google. I'm pretty sure AT&T branded N6's are approved.
Here is a list of them from sammobile
https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/galaxy-s8/SM-G950U/
I think its going to be a free for all and maybe we in the verizon s8 will get love from the whole community this time, at least the US. It seems we all may have SM-G950U.
Is that correct more knowledgeable people?
I'm trying to flash to T-Mobile as all US networks use the SM-950U . That means they have all the bands for every network. I tried to flash through odin but if you flash the CSC file for T-Mobile , along with the other 3, the phone factory resets to stock Verizon firmware. If I just flash the AP (Actual software) and the CP (Modem file for correct bands), it works but I get a ton of bloatware from cricket, metro pcs, Verizon , and tmobile with a really glitchex out settings app. Also, without the CSC file your phone is still technically Verizon .
So we should wait? I have the Verizon version also but use TMobile.
We have to wait

I tried the method used on the S7 to flash another carrier and it does not work anymore. There's some type of carrier partition that can't be changed by odin with the CSC file, which would change that partition. If you try to flash all the files, you get an error at 32% of "upgrading your system". I heard that there is a new version of odin that lets you flash the userdata file to switch carriers from a other forum, but it's not out right now. So waiting is the only option....
Here is a forum post for the S7 edge:

Just we'll have to wait till someone figures something out. On a side note, what's the most recent update? I'm on QD9 and I'm getting an update notification for the dqa OTA fix from Samsung but I can never download it. Probably because I'm using Verizon phone on TMobile...

The latest update is QD9 and if you want to check and install updates, you can download Smart Switch from Samsung's site. Then you go to more and software updates to make sure your phone is on the latest version. I'm also on T-Mobile with the Verizon model and hate that I dont the Voice Over LTE, Wifi Calling, 4x4 mimo, etc. So yea, we just have to wait for someone to figure this out.
Maybe I'm looking at the wrong thing but that Samsung switch program seem to be for transferring data from other phones so I didn't bother downloading it.

I thought the same thing but along with that you can perform software updates for any carrier. Also, I recommend d doing a backup if you want to flash another carrier when it is possible.
Wow that was a pain in the butt to install. Had to install a 2008 version of visual c++. Since I don't see an option to update the phone, is safe to assume there's no update then right? If so why do I always get the update notification?

I have the same version as you and don't get any update notification. Can you add a screenshot of the notification?
Sure I'll do it next time it shows up
Here's the screenshot. Comes up from time to time and it states it's too fix the dqa issue.

Hi there, do you get LTE with t-mobile on this Verizon unlocked version?
I am asking because I grabbed one as well and I am on at&t but I can't get LTE going. When I boot the phone, it is there but within minutes, it goes to HSPA+, I tried every which way. I called at&t, gave them my IMEI and everything but still no LTE unless I reboot my phone every 5 minutes.
Thanks
You need to have the correct APN settings. I believe Verizon has the most LTE bands so it should work with basically most of the world's providers.

Ohh and yes I do get LTE

Return for another one maybe? I tried it on my work ATT Sim before and it works fine for me.

Maybe I will get another sim card, even though the same sim card is working just fine on my iPhone without any issues.
Worth a shot.

You don't have the correct bands enabled with a Verizon model when using AT&T. Verizon only unlocks bands for it's network, but tmobile shares a couple of these bands and it's it as big of an issue. At&t does not share many bands with Verizon so the phone may be struggling to even find one LTE band. The only solution would be to flash the phone to AT&T firmware, which is impossible at the moment. (I Tried)

Is there a way to force a certain band that exists both on verizon and at&t? If I can't get this going, I might have to just sell the phone. I have couple more days of patience left

You would need to find the firmware of an AT&T s8 and flash the CP file (Modem) using odin. This should unlock the correct bands. I did this on my Verizon s8 as I use T-Mobile.
