Hey xda,
i recently turned my HTC One into a Google Play Edition with the Conversion RUU Zips and just wanted to get back to WWE Stock and used a RUU from HTC for this, but everytime and on multiple devices I was getting the error:
"fastboot-htc.exe has stopped working..." and the whole program just crashed. (the phone wasnt bricked, even after many times.)
at the Beginning of flashing the RUU.
I solved it by flashing a Combined TWRP Custom Firmware Package from this thread (use Combined, NoWipe ZIP's with same version of ruu) and then repeat the RUU.. and this time it worked. (List of all Firmware)
I select the version that the RUU was going to flash (for example at mine: 4.19.401.9 for the same RUU version)
[* also with unlocked bootloader and S-OFF, no need to change that!]
Maybe the RUU doesnt like the GPE Firmware, but this was the solution.
Cheers.
Thanks! Worked like a charm.

So, first of all i want to say that i wouldn`t have written here if i hadn`t tried every possible way. I want to know where i did wrong, because this is the case and i wand to ask for your help.
The situation : I flashed the google edition to my htc one, it was fine, and i didn`t quite like it so i wanted to go back.
Now the show starts. I flashed Hboot 1.44, got the old bootloader back, and then when i tried to flash the old ruu zip it says : couldnt allocate 1034027008bytes. Also i have tried the exe file and it stops right at the start and says connection interrupted or some sort like this and it doesn`t continue.
I have S-off, unlocked bootloader. I had stock 4.2.2 with htc__001 cid, and twrp as recovery and of course it was rooted. I flashed the Google Edition after i put the stock recovery.
Thank you in advance for all your help.

What phone is it? Developer Edition?
First thing is to change your CID to a Super CID 11111111
Then you need the proper RUU file for the phone. If its an ATT version
you can flash the 4.3 Developer Edition RUU on the HTC site.

Then your Hboot 1.44 may not be the correct one. PM me with your email and I will give
you the correct one.

I have tried once again with the 1.44 Hboot and the zip from htc official website , the developer edition one.
Still no luck.
With the help of cc999 i managed to revert back to 4.3 Developer Edition.
Apparently there was a mess in my adb and usb drivers.
So i managed to install the 4.3 Developer Edition on another laptop and it worked just fine.
Thank you again cc999 for the support.
You should use the stock recovery to flash the ruu.exe. Makes life so much easier!

Hello everyone!
I have an AT&T HTC One that is S-Off, relocked, SuperCID, black HBoot 1.54, currently on ViperOne 2.7 with stock kernel. I've been trying for the past day and a half to get the 3.22.1540.1 Brightstar WWE to run so I could have it back to stock with the most current OS. I also want to fully convert it to a Developer's Edition phone as well. I thought that with SuperCID you could run any RUU but so far every single time it ends in an error. I also tried changing the CID to the Developer's Edition CID (BS_US001) and still came back with the same error. So here I am on the greatest place in the world for Android phone assistance and advice asking for help in getting my phone converted to a Developer's Edition and/or on the 3.22 RUU. Thanks in advance for any help.
P.S. I already did try to search like crazy for the answers to my questions.!
Well you may need a stock recovery to run an ruu.exe. And I'd recommend going back to super-cid and then running the ruu as well. Be sure you back up all your information that you do then wish to lose, as the ruu will format the entire phone.

No need to relock boot loader because the developer edition comes by default unlocked. Unlock it to continue. You need to change your CID to 11111111 (super CID) and you need to flash the 1.44 hboot (I believe) the black hboot may be causing the problem.
Downgrade to the lowest firmware you can find for the Developers edition.
fastboot oem rebootRUU
fastboot flash zip firmware.zip
fastboot flash zip firmware.zip
(Yes, twice.)
Check to be sure everything was successful.
fastboot reboot-bootloader
Make sure the bootloader is locked.
Run the ruu.
Let it do its thing.
Boot the phone and set it up.
Go to settings - about phone - software information - system update.
Allow it to download and update.
Repeatedly check for update until you reach 4.3

Hi there,
Did you get it work 3.22.1540.1 dev edition on your phone?, im still stuck in the same problem, got an HTC One AT&T, i got working the RUU_M7_UL_JB_50_BrightstarUS_WWE_1.29.1540.16.exe (dev edition), when i check for updates, there's an update of 17mb, after updating that one, i check again and found the 3.22.1540.1 OTA (around 550mb), i downloaded and agree to install it, but when reboot the phone, it got stuck in the HTC logo screen, did not go further, even trying to get into recovery, same thing, got stuck in HTC logo screen.
Another test i did, was installing RUU_M7_UL_JB43_SENSE50_MR_BrightstarUS_WWE_3.22.1540.1.exe and even the zip version, both of them install correctly but same problem, got stuck in HTC Logo screen, right now my phone is Unlocked bootloader, S-off with supercid (also tried the BS_US001 CID, same problem), hboot 1.55, is there any chance someone can help me with it? thanks a lot

It does actually work, just seems very sensitive to OS, USB ports, drivers, (possibly even locale), etc.
Recommend you use a plain vanilla Win7 PC with USB2 port.

I had this exact problem trying to go back from 5.11.401.10. When i extracted the rom.zip, fastboot came back with remote: 02 data length is too large.
I had already unlocked with HTCDev, flashed TWRP and s-off. i just wanted a stock ruu to go back to sense 5.5. In the end, i found TeHashX has created a twrp flash here: Link I flashed that without root, with radio and recovery and I'm back to stock. You'll probably need to be s-off for this but I'm not sure. I kept s-off and the unlocked bootloader.
Ps. You can remove the tampered with a rooted rom in the process.

I have also been unable to use any of the 4.xx RUU... They worked once but none of them work now. Anyway I just wanted to say I also created a Guru Reset for the 5.21.502.2 (AT&T) here >> http://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=23501681358545274 to go along with the files posted by @TeHashX
The only thing i can think of was the hboot prevents it now but i wasnt going to play with that. I personally went to 4.xx to get away from sense 6
Is there any other maybe older stock ROM i can try ?
I tried 1.29.401.x and that failed too. There was a note with the download saying you need to flash hboot 1.44 which i didn't bother with.
So I accidentally deleted my os, rom, everything and for the past day or so I have been trying to go back to stock and I simply can't. I downloaded both an RUU.zip and exe and made sure the android-info.txt file had the same modelid and cidnum but it still fails. I will post images below of where my problem arises. I have s-off unlocked bootloader and was able to go from 1.56 hboot back to the 1.44 hboot no problem. In the second image I tried using an RUU, stock odexed rom, and then a firmware update but all failed . The errors occur when checking the info parsing or model id.

first you can not use "fastboot flash zip" to flash odexed rom or any other roms, they must be flashed using a custom recovery. Only firmware pacakge and ruu can be flashed this way.
I also see that your version main is 1.10.605.10 which is for verizon phones MID: PN0731000 (yours is PN0713000) and cid VZW__001 (yours is T-MOB010). It looks like you have flashed a verizon firmware on your t-mobile phone which is not a good thing.... Dont know what you have previously done to this phone but it looks like you are trying to hard brick it
Dont understand neither why you are trying to flash the 6.09.401.5 odexed rom that doesnt match your phone info...
Here are the ruu for your phone (PN0713000 and T-MOB010):
http://www.htc1guru.com/dld/ruu_m7_...0-20_10-40-1150-04_release_324846_signed-exe/
http://www.htc1guru.com/dld/ruu_m7_...3_10-38m-1157-04_release_336982_signed_2-exe/
http://www.htc1guru.com/dld/ruu-zip...157-04_release_336982_signed_2_decrypted-zip/
use one of them and see if your phone can recover (I hope that flashing the wrong firmware did not bricked it)
@alray Thanks for much for the info! Can't believe I was trying to flash the wrong ruu's :/. I will download the ones you provided and report back in few hours when I get home and hopefully my phone can still be saved.
Good afternoon everyone,
So what my current situation is:
HTC ONE M7 -AT&T(Best Buy Blue Edition) activated on Criket
Android 4.3
Sense 5.0
Tampered
RElocked
S-off
HBOOT-1.55
TWRP-2.8.7.0
I'm attempting to update using the RUU from HTC's website for my phone. Everytime I run it, as soon as it starts to send the first package the installer has an error and is forced to close. I have the PC and my phone talking in FASTBOOT USB with the above current situation. I was getting the 155 error, but with the help of this forum I have gotten past that.
All I want to do is update my phone so I can get the better battery life and get Facebook working in my blinkfeed again.
Where do I go from here?
I am very computer literate, I just don't have a whole lot of experience with bootloading android. Flashing wasn't so hard though, and I'm comfortable in ADB/Fastboot. I have been going through all the guides on here I could find. It is how I got this far, but now I just don't know what to do. I still keep getting the same error.
P.S. Thanks for all the resources guys, it has already been such a big help!
Update: I was able to successfully run to completion the RUU for Cingular Sense 5.0 version 3.17 the same one as my phone, so now in the interest of sounding stupid I'm going to download and try Sense 5.5 and then step up to Sense 6.0 staying on the Cingular RUU path.
TLDR: old Update:
While I wait I decided to tinker. So for ****s and giggles I tried installing the RUU from "Android RUU" UL-3.17 the same version I already have. No real reason, just to see what would happen. It is progressing now, but has already made it much further than any attempt at installing the RUU from HTC which is also an UL Cingular version, but for version 7.23.
Just in case this information helps in my diagnosis.
Alright, So update to Sense 5.5 fails everytime at 5% again. Now it is saying it is an Error 171 USB Connection error.
I tried it on both USB 3.0 and USB 2.0.

you can't flash a 7.xx.xxx.x RUU if your phone isn't already running at least a 6.xx.xxx.x firmware. May I ask why you want to stay on cingular version (at&t) ? If you are not using an at&t sim card you won't receive ota updates and since you are not on at&t you don't need all the at&t bloatware on your phone... You already have s-off you could simply change your cid to the developer edition or supercid and use the developer edition ruu...

I'm not opposed to that, the only reason I was trying to stick with it was just to leave as few variables as possible since this is foreign territory to me.
As long as I still get Sense 6.0 I'll run any RUU.
Which one would you recommend if so?

I would simply flash the developer edition 6.07.1540.2 firmware first so your phone will accept the 7.17.1540.7 ruu.
you'll then receive an ota update to 7.17.1540.21 which is the final version with android 5.0.2 htc sense 6.0
If you want to go that way, you'll need to:
change your cid to supercid or dev edition cid:
Code:
fastboot oem writecid BS_US001
fastboot reboot-bootloader
or
Code:
fastboot oem writecid 11111111
fastboot reboot-bootloader
flash the 6.07.1540.2 stock firmware:
Code:
fastboot oem rebootRUU
fastboot flash zip Firmware_6.07.1540.2.zip
fastboot flash zip Firmware_6.07.1540.2.zip
fastboot reboot-bootloader
and flash (run) the 7.07.1540.7 ruu.exe.
So after I flash 6xxx, I simply run the Brightstar RUU you linked? Or do I try and do it through the cmd again?

Yes after updating the firmware to 6.07.1540.2 your phone will accept the 7.17.1540.7 ruu, just run the ruu.exe with the phone still in bootloader mode.

yes, there will be only one update, from 7.17.1540.7 to 7.17.1540.21, if you don't receive any notification for it, let me know I'll link the ota update zip file and explain you how to flash it manually.

Ok, one thing I've run into, while installing my apps and updated and such.
Facebook won't install. It gives me "Unknown error code -504"
I tried clearing cache's and no go, I googled it but I can't find a 504 code.
