BEAR ROM is a cm10.2 rom with added support for overclocking and undervolting.
There are three diffrent Roms:
Safe MOD being a safe kernel for everyday use
Experemental MOD, more experemental with overclocking and undervolting, if UNSURE use the Safe Mod

Team FXP for the base, without it I couldn't do this.
DooMLoRD/faux123 for the DooMLoRD kernel, I learnt from it so I could get started running.
DoomLoard/faux123/neobuddy89 for omni rom, pulling alot of bug fixes from here
Faux123 for fauxsound control app and kernel code. (You must obtain the app yourself)
updateing for the tx dualboot support

how about fauxsound and full frequency range like in doomkernel ?

What frequency range do you want I will cap at 2.0 ghz/2000 mhz most probs as a safty mesure, but if you want more of a range its up to you guys to use it safely. I know from experiance some good chips will get more than that (says my core 2 duo 2.0 ghz running at 2.6 ghz)
Amazing work, thanks a lot for doing some CM based alternative kernel, a thing we didn't have for Xperia T.
Now I'm on stock 4.3, but if the 4.3 kernel porting on CM would make the rom more stable, I'll think about it.

I'm using it as my daily driver so I have hopes, it's stable at 1.8ghz with added i/o schedulers and governors, when I'm 100% happy I'll upload it with cm10.2
Biggest battery drain atm is the screen which is good
Btw no blue screen yay

i have doomkernel running at 1890mhz and its running with out any issues at present has been smooth sailing for the past 2 or so days now .... the T is only stock 1512mhz so i wouldnt really want to try and push the chipset past 2100mhz tops and that may even be way to high
thanks for this. but got one question: will this work only on cm10.2 base right?
why not making it for cm11? just curious
thanks again anyway!

Its stable as f**k, where 4.4 is put on top of 4.3, so helll no. I want preformance and reliability. I am pushing for 4.4 sources I really am. Again with the 4.3 sources they will allow me to patch mer libarys for my loop through.
I hope this quenched your thirst, after this I may in fact do a 4.4 based rom, but doubt it until we have 4.4 sources, think of it this way if we start here with correct sources, we will be able to do more with 4.4 sources.

thanks for the answer my friend! i agree that could be a very good job/combo for good performances and stability.. hope to try it soon
you said you are already using it right? if so can you confirm old cm10.2 bugs are fixed? for example i remember not working panorama, long time to charge battery, and speaker whistle also maybe was present in cm10.2?
thanks and good luck really happy to see some new fresh development on cm! :good:
ps. can you report also about battery life? comparable to stock hopefully?
Low incall volume speaker, too!

Panorama is still not working, force enabling the fast charge should sort out charge times, no speaker whistle so far.
Battery not to bad, not as good as stock, biggest drain is the screen at 50%. With media server at 25%
Most of this is system side, I will sort this out after the kernel :good:

I'm planning on patching the Sony framework in the system and removing dsp, hopefully this will make stuff sound better, as for people who like to dirty flash and have problems with the call volume being quite I'm adding a app for that.

Just a quick note the frequency goes up in 54000 hz steps so it will be
1890000 hz/ 1890 mhz/ 1.8 ghz
1944000 hz/ 1944 mhz/ 1.944 ghz
2052000 hz/ 2052 mhz/ 2.052 ghz
2106000 hz/ 2106 mhz/ 2.106 ghz
Is this OK?

No the table is right, I'm asking is the max limit OK for you lol
The only thing I will say is following stock voltages means that the phone will run hot at anything past 1.8ghz, so I'm going to see what the lower limit is.
If anyone has DoomKernel can they test the lower voltage limit for me so I can implement it

yeah the max limit is ok unless you want to go one or 2 steps higher .... they can be tested to see if stable and if not the unstable ones could be removed in the next build?

vorkKernel Team:

This kernel is for Cyanogenmod and Miui. *Could* be incompatible with latest kangs or nightlies (after a kernel update from CM team). No support for stock or mcr...
It's incompatible with MIUI and CM Builds before #177
New vorkKernel Twitter Bot: Here
First I want to make clear that all credit goes to aremcee/arcee/rmcc (man so many nicks ). He did an awesome job with the kernel.
I just tweaked it a little bit to my needs.
Features:
uv/oc support. OC up to 1,5GHz (With E-Peen version)
AVP/System/RAM/GPU OC with E-Peen version
1,2 Ghz for batt safe version.
Special tweaked (working!) Performance and Powersave Govenors which don't lock the freq to one level (they choose between 3-4 Freq steps)
It's even possible to set max/min clock via setcpu or CMSettings!
Voodoo sound. Thanks supercurio! So awesome
Default IO-Sched is Deadline with a special flash storage tweak
Slub allocator
tweaked CFS cpu sched (Low latency)
compiled with a tweaked toolchain (base linaro gcc - optimized for tegra2)
VFP optimizations (vfpv3-d16) and overall compiler optimizations
flags! (more below in the flag section)
A App for easy downloading and configuring. Credits to kiljacken!

The standard part:
I'm not responsible for melted phones or something like that...
The camera is unstable with E-Peen mode (due to AVP OC). After a reboot it needs to stabilize a few minutes (so you break it with every reboot again). Same for Bluetooth. Please don't report a problem regarding this. It's known and can't be fixed.

And the source code here.
Download (Market)
Credits to kiljacken for this awesome app! You need OI File Manager for the app (Comes with CM)!
(and if you refuse to use the app - or the app is refusing to work with you: here)
Only change something, if you want to enable OC - No need to touch anything else (like govenors, schedulers)
What are flags and how can I use them?
I recommend to use the App kiljacken made, because it's super easy for you guys. If you not want to use the app *sadpanda* then you can click this link. This is the file the app is fetching to generate the UI.
The layout is following:
Available for following device/Element style (more below)/the flag you need to add/Flag name in App/Description for general Flag/Choice name in app/actual value you need to add after flag name
If the last two points are added you first enter the flag name and than the value. For example: density230
You connect the flags with a: -
Example: -camera-ring ...
The script is configured to detect flags after vorkKernel-VERSIONNUMBER. So you can add some flags after this.
Element style
c = Checkbox
l = List you can choose things from
e = you can enter your own value

Error Reporting Guide
Start with rebooting, if that doesn't help, reflash CM and then the kernel, and check again. If you're using the updater app (make sure you have the latest version), use the error report function (and describe what you're problem is). If you're not using the app, then post what flags you are using, along with what your problem is.

Additionally I just want to point out that I'm not doing this as a fulltime job, so don't expect daily updates or something like that. I will try to fix a problem as fast as possible but in some cases it can take a while.
If you want to support me you can sign up on dropbox via my referral link or just push this nice thanks button .. If you want to donate you can donate to aremcee/arcee/rmcc something. I'm learning C and linux and vorkKernel is my learning project and it is a hobby for me. Anyway if you still want to support a poor student, I have a link in my signature
Thanks to:
arcee + the whole CM Team
morfic for all the avp oc tweaks and other stuff
thalamus (for saving me going crazy with the toolchain )
Erasmux
All guys that made pull request and contributed in any possible way
Donators to our project (app or kiljacken's donate link)
the android community
and a very big thanks to b3ndech0 for his buildbox.
Thanks, this is very much appreciated
This kernel is amazing! Nice work with the filename flags. It's brilliant! This way we don't have to have the same setup, but can enjoy both CM7 and the kernel.

I'll try this kernel later. Will wait for CM7 getting more optimized for our devices first. 2000 Quadrant scores out of the box just don't cut it - I don't want to overclock to 1.4 GHz just to reach speeds of MCR FR14 ;-)

More things will be in it soon. And Quadrant doesn't matter. CM feels better in normal use (except a few problems but it is a really good starting point).

Yes I know it doesn't really matter. Although, generally speaking, higher scores means the software is more optimized to the hardware; framework, kernel and/or drivers.
CM7 should be able to smash the performance out of the LG stock ROM without problem...
Thanks for you kernel additions! Subscribed to this thread now so I can follow your progress.

Nah. You can boost quadrant to oblivion via data2ext for example on desire/nexus but it didn't helped in real life performance. The sql sync disable doesn't help with real usage, but boost quadrant etc. So many things which doesn't improve real usage, boost quadrant. Like deleting your /system (pro move...).
But yeah in some parts you are right and optimizing drivers boost it too + help real use performance, so I will do this too.

Yep but this would break pimp my cpu support and I think pimp my cpu is the better deal. A easy user interface with undervolting support. Awesome! .. so no I won't add it to cm settings
Awesome OC in CM7 makes it even better
I know I'm going to get flamed for this but how do you o/c once you have flashed the kernel? when i open setCPU its already at the max 1g when i go to the CM settings there's no frequencies to select in the cpu management option
is it different on the tegra chips as opposed to qualacom?

Ok if I understand the changelog from kholk correct, most of the changes are already included (don't know exactly because he didn't copied the commit names and sums the function up). One commit isn't in it because it introduced the graphic glitches. vfp3-d16 support and compiler optimization will be added with next update. Then most things are in it.

Nah no flaming . You need pimp my cpu for it. Cpasjute did some kernel hacks to enable oc and add a uv function. That means you can undervolt without compiling the kernel again. Unfortunatly it isn't compatible with setcpu..
The kernel seems ok; I tried OC till 1200 with 50-100 UV (depending on OC).
What's very good with CM7 (and this kernel) is battery life, 30-40% more compared with Modaco ROM (till FR14).
Anybody have tried higher frequencies (1300-1400)?
Thanks a lot.

I have been using this all day running 1300Mhz @ 1200mV - normal use with wifi on - 84% battery left after ap. 12 hours
This is based on l0st.prophet's kernel with added support for Nik's projectX and Virtuous Infinity Sense 4 Roms.
Features:
It's still very much in development and Sense4 versions are not in universal flash as they includes rmdisk changes,
firmware and an init.d script that Rom devs need to add to their releases first.
Test it, try it, rip it apart, fix it, break it, delete it. Pretty much do whatever you like with it.
Tell me what you think and report any issues with as much information as possible.
Includes 15 governors:
Brazilianwax
Conservative
Intellidemand
Interactive
InteractiveX
Lagfree
Lazy
Lionheart
Lulzactive
Ondemand (Default)
OndemandX
Performance
SavagedZen
Scary
SmartassV2
And all the usual goodies.
6 Schedulers:
bfq
cfq
deadline
noop
sio (Default)
vr
Overclocking, undervolting, sweep2wake, 2wcr.

*The Sabsa Prime Installer might work for other Roms (ProjectX) but at this point are untested. If you find it's working, let me know!!
**Lower frequencies are experimental and may cause issues (CPU sticking on min frequency) on some governors (interactive based) Do not lower frequency beyond the default if you do not know what you are doing.
***The new wifi drivers are a work in progress and you may notice issues on starting up wifi tethering. Current know workaround is to switch off security temporarily, switch tethering on and off and re-enable security. If someone finds a better workaround let me know. The tradeoff is a much more stable and faster connection from my testing. If this inconveniences you too much, just move to a previous version.

Code:
[B][U]Frequency and Voltage table[/U][/B]
To be updated at a later date
The minimum possible voltage has been dropped to 500mV and the minimum frequency has been dropped to 61MHz for testing purposes. They could cause unpredictable issues with your phone, so if you're not sure what you are doing, it's best to at least leave the voltages alone and only reduce the frequency to 245MHz, possibly 184. If youre comfortable testing these settings feel free to do so and report your findings. I'm using IncrediControl to adjust frequency, governor, scheduler and voltages. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.incredicontrol

Lol, sounds too much like work. I gave up on doing it all through init.d scripts when I couldn't find a way to start services. I don't think it's possible unfortunately. Thanks for your help btw.

Congrats on your 1000th thanks. What I mean by It's not possible, is starting the ramdisk init services using init.d scripts. So creating a zImage universal flash at this stage is off the table and each sense 4 Rom needs it's own seperately created boot.img to implementthe fixes. But you're right about it being possible to have the kernel running on all the sense based roms of course. I have already studied your downloads
I have got a lot of work to do before "my" kernel has the same/similar amount of features that yours does.
2wc not work for me. Nik x

Nice work nonverbose Seems like more people are stepping up lately, which is nice too see
One question, does this include a 122MHz step? I like it for some reason, and l0st.prophet's didn't have it
Thanks mate
Sweet, thanks
If you can, it'd be great to see a fix for reboots when switching cell tower during a phone call
And I'd also like to see the inclusion of BadAss governor

I'm actually testing a 61MHz step right now and also added more frequencies and underclocked stock voltages slightly. Looking very promising. Also planning to drop minimum voltages.

Hi guys, Decided to make a new thread as since you guys asked for it
The kernel is based off the work of Arco, forfivo and castanaIT.
Id like to also note please use extra caution when useing extreme edition kernels. (the overvolt).
For those of you that decide you dont want this kernel you can use this to restore back to core2's 11-09 2.6.35 kernel without doing a full rom flash.
When using either kernel 1.7ghz is most likely gonna be the highest you want to run on. @1.8 we either become unstable or get too much heat.
This part im just going to relink the old build for my first attempts. They mostly didnt work.(just for archiveing purposes)
Beta v1, Beta v2, Beta v3, Beta v4
In this section ill list the newer builds and what they added.
Beta 5.2
Adds Govs: brazilianwax, intellidemand, interactivex, lagfree, lazy, lionheart,
lulzactive, ondemandx, savagedzen, scary, smartass1/2, smoothass, wheatley
Adds OC up to 1.8( 1.8 only stable in OV edition but still included just because)
Beta v5.2 + Overvolt v2
Adds the same as above but uses more volts for the higher frequencies to try and make them more stable.
(Was later reported that its stable but gets pretty Hot)
Adds same as above but lowers the volts a little to try and find a happy spot between stable and temps.

Just wanted to chime in to say I just flashed CM9 (stable 11-09), then flashed gapps, and the beta 5 kernel - all within the same CWM session. My Wifi is working just fine. Fast and stable so far Lovin' it! Great job. I especially love all the various governors - that'll give me a lot to play with today
Hey guys, im working on makeing beta 6. When i tested the build wifi didnt work, however i havent changed anything with the wifi so if anyone whos willing to do wipes and stuff possibly try this build? http://d-h.st/ouL
I would do the wipes and stuff my self but this is my only phone/daily used device. So wipeing isnt exatly something id like to do. I did try wipeing cache/fix permissions but that didnt work. Id guess it would work with wipes cause all the wifi code is untouched from beta 5, but before i go telling people to wipe id like to know if that works. Some people said beta 5 broke wifi too which i guess is possible as with this beta 6. However i believe it to be due to not wipeing not the kernel it self.
I clean installed 9/28 plus gapps and this but it broke wifi and usb connection. I chose smartassv2 plus 368 min and 1.4 max and it immediately froze. Am gonna download the latest stable and do this again.

All future builds should work fine without a rom wipe or cache/dalvik as of right now.(beta6)
Sure ill add it to my second/reserved post for now.
Also gonna update the OP with links to 5.1 which is an updated beta5 that shouldnt break wifi.
Beta 6.3 overvolt edition is out now too.
I wiped davlik/cache and flashed beta 6.3. Now wifi works and my previous issue with usb was due to a faulty cable. Only problem now is the phone freezes when I set max to 1.4. 1.3 works fine so am guessing that's my sweet spot.

Glade to here its fixed/figured out. sorry to hear 1.4 isnt working for you,I just ran a benchmark @1.4 and it ran fine, i believe this is where the every hardware is different.
Just re-read your previous post and saw you used smartass gov. Thats the same one i used. You may wana play with some other govs it may or may not effect the frequency you can use. It probably wont and smartass is a good gov.(imo) but just a thought.

As stated in the OP 6.3 Adds:
GPU frequency changing
Added V(r) and SIO schedulers
You can use whatever version you want. 5.1 fixes wifi for people who had problems with beta 5. So any of the 5.1 - 6.3 builds are ok to use its just what you want out of the kernel. Each build is a new kernel you can flash w.e. you want and doesnt have to go in any order. Builds older than 5.1 are not recommened to use but they are basicly unchanged from the Kernel you get in core2idiots latest cm9.

6.3 just fixes wifi and adds a couple I/O schedulers. You might as well just stay with it. Even if you don't use the schedulers, there's no harm in staying where you are.
Also, just wanted to say that SmartassV2 will save more battery when the screen is off, as compared to basic Smartass.
As far as your issue at 1.4, that bites! Mine tops out at 1.7 without any voltage adjustment. Most people should be able to get 1.6-1.7 as well. The best chips should get 1.8... That said, 1.3 seems pretty low for you to top out with. In any case, it's usually a good idea to go at least 1 step below where you don't freeze or reboot, just to be safe... In your case, that would be 1.2 - just putting it out there. In my case, even though 1.7 works, I have it set to 1.5 just to make sure I'm not running into problems.
Hey guys,
Ive modified the Stock CyanogenMod kernel with some of the features i cant live without This is not a replacement for iodak or werewolf, play etc this is just my own little project. As the name implies, im simply taking some of my favorite features from the various kernels here while attempting to keep it as close to stock as possible
Latest Version: CCK4.1

So far it has:
# Fast-Charge (faster usb port chargers)
# Additional CPU governors ( wheatley, HYPER, lulzactiive and smartassV2 )
# CPUQuiet
# Unlinked GPU / CPU
And more!
As above all thanks goes original devs mainly Demetris, iodak and laufersteppenwolf,

This is the Q&A thread for Helium.
You don't know where to post something? This schema will help you.
Questions about the kernel (Does it have ****?) > here
Problems you faced, and/or their solutions > here
Weird problems I could be able to solve > the development thread
Things I should read/know > the development thread
Questions that can be answered by any user (not only by me) > here
Miscellaneous posts > here
In a nutshell, if you have to post something that I have to read, post it in the development thread, otherwise use this thread.
I will not read this thread at all. Or maybe I'll check it every now and then
Mention me if I should read something.
Testing helium in temasek, for now all working right and cpu freq. goes to 1728Mhz. Very similar to last stock cm kernel but with usb fast charging :good:
I have a question @tommons (or sombody): Why do you include KSM? In Tangerine kernel it made the device laggy, increasing the power consumption due to the continous work of cpu cores and soon many of us saw that this feature wasn't good to our Xperia Sp. I always leave it off and better overall performance is achieved.
In init.d options of Kernel adiutor we can see the entry 01tangerine. Delete this entry is the same that going to /system/etc/init.d? I suppose that is.
BTW, great work and thanks for your dev time.

KSM (in v2, UKSM) is there as an option. Nobody forces you to use it It uses more power but the result is a better RAM management.
Yes you can delete 01tangerine from Kernel Adiutor too.
Trying v2 with carbon 5.1.1 seems everything OK..good work man ;D

Flash the stock boot.img of your CM build (if you have CM+Addons, it would be better if you flashed the boot.img of the Addons you have installed on your device), enter TWRP, install Helium.
Or, in an easier way, next time you update your CM nightly flash Helium instead of Tangerine!

Overclock needs some work and I'm very busy at the moment. Frequency fixes will come very very soon. In the mean time you can flash v2.1, which hasn't got any issues with frequencies.

Good! Well, actually that's bad, but I expected it. Will fix ASAP (that is, unfortunately for you, on Sunday/Monday).
Use v2.1, it doesn't have problems.
For the others: I remind you that this doesn't mean v3 is buggy. This bug appears only on certain devices confused and mine is one of the "lucky" ones. So the best thing to do is to try v3 and see if you're lucky or unlucky. Hopefully, the bug will be fixed with v3.1.

Is TRIM support planned? I think that it is essential for device with such slow flash memory.
As for now I'm using heavily customized Tangerine 9.2 + last Xenon HD which gives great performance, but has issues (inaccurate GPS, big lag after locking the screen, touchscreen not working couple times a week and a few more). Tested latest CM12.1 + Helium 3.1 for few hours and it looks promising, but feels slower than much more bloated Xenon HD + Tk9.2 (used since September) possibly due lack of TRIM support.

Tested latest CM12.1 + Helium 3.1 for few hours and it looks promising, but feels slower than much more bloated Xenon HD + Tk9.2 (used since September) possibly due lack of TRIM support.

You can use the command line utility called fstrim or mount the partitions with the "discard" option. The latter way is more difficult because it requires unpacking the kernel, the ramdisk, and then repacking everything.
Swap crashing problem is resolved in v3.2?

I think that it was my mistake - I cannot remember if I enabled root before issuing TRIM - shame on me
I am using Trimmer utility and running it resulted in instant execution without returning trimmed size in gigabytes pointing that either root was not enabled or TRIM was not supported. Judging by your reply I can assume that TRIM is supported so I think that I'll make second attempt to CM12.1 when touchscreen issue is fixed* or CM13 when camera will be working.
* I just read that @Adrian DC fixes has been merged in 3.2! I will check that kernel as soon as I can!
