Updating from ursa minor #1 to #2

Which method do i use to flash the ursa minor2 kernal? Its a zip file and i tried flashing per odin but it would not notice the files.

Did you try CWM or sgs kernel flasher which sends you to CWM?

ODIN only does .tar/md5 files.....if its a zip file 99% chance its CWM......

no i didnt wasnt sure which one to use. thanks

do i unzip the file first or cwm does it for me?

CWM does it, theres in option that says install zip from sdcard, then choose the zip from sdcard

I know you got your answer, but if you had spent some time reading the Andromeda threads in Q&A (a sticky) and Dev you would have gotten your answer easily. This should have been posted in the sticky. That's what it is here for. Please use it before starting a new thread in the future.

well, since you havent specified what file it is, i am going to assume its something you should run in cmd prompt......
are you running windows?

Would be great if someone can disponibilize a mod for the stock status bar gingerbread`s like.

Try using UOT kitchen website. You can create your own gingerbread status bar there. Give it a go.

For me the most important thing its the solid black top bar and the fancy icons. The stock LG are ugly.

I will have to do it tomorrow now as im off to bed but I promise I will do it tomorrow. I will pm you with the link to download it as soon as it is complete. Also what recovery do you use. CWM3+ or older. Its so o know what update zips I need to make.

Also I need the framework-res.apk from your phone to do it. If you can get that for me I can do it but I need the framework-res.apk. If you have root explorer then go to /system/framework/ and copy the file to your sdcard and send it to me or I cant do it.

Hi guys. I am in the process of making it now. For the compatability side of things it will all depend on if you are using custom or stock rom. if you are on stock firmware then i can do it with stock framework but if you are on a custom rom then i will need the framework from that specific. rom.

The mod only contains modified png-files.
The source of this mod is your original framework-res.apk
I'm gonna rebuild this mod an post the new Cwm-package.

There was no bootloop all installed fine with a dalvik wipe, all that's gb themed is the battery though none of the signal bars or signal is themed is this right?

How do I flash a rom in a .rar file

Yes Iv'e used the search button but I still can't find an exact answer.
I would like to flash another rom > http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1700749 but it's contained in a .rar file and not a .zip file.
How the hell can I use this file and flash it??
Ant help is appreciated.

You sure that the ROM is in a .rar file? Maybe you have the wrong file, because I think this link for the ROM and it isn't compressed in a .rar file, it's on a normal .zip.

The link you post is for another version of the rom.

Ohh man,
Download that and
Extract that .rar file to your computer,you will get 3-4 files in that. Some are for ics layouts and 1 is for file manager.apk.
copy the apocalypse 09072012.zip into your sd card and flash via cwm...

[Port][ROM] Nemesis(i) requires the development.

Hi, I was Nemesis port for our staff, but because of lack of time and opportunities have no way to continue supporting it. So I am looking for someone who can bring it to an end.
Installation Instructions:
1.Download Nemesis_2.4.zip and place it in the root of sdcaed
2.Reboot into recovery,apply update from sdcard and choose ClockWorkModRec.zip
3.In Cwr wipe data,cache advanced ->wipe dalvik cache and battery stats
4.Mount system/data in mounts and storage of Cwm
5.Then install zip from sdcard and reboot system
6.Wait till it boots and media scanning is done and enjoy

PS it is in Russian, but the download, I think, is not difficult.
Completed at 98.6%

Using this rom and must say the nemesis team has done a remarkble job. Thanks fr sharing d ported rom. So far it is working flawlessly. Did you try stryke? He was porting wrk by avijit fr s5830i.

Gut need help, when i flashed the rom i waited till the scaning then when i pressed the maneu button on screen then their were only two application, i could not find phonebook, dialler and other applications. I tried the reboot but it didnt work. Please help

Thats odd. I restarted the launcher when i faced the same issue and the icons loaded just fine. Can you go under system/apps or go under root uninstaller and see if system apps are listing? If yes, then you can try installing another launcher and see if that helps. Else as last resort, you can try reflashing, but make sure this time that u wipe all, mount all before flashing. Hope this helps.

[TOOL][EFS][LINUX][ROOT]Simple efs backup Grand DUOS

Hello XDA,
I created a simple backup-script for the efs-partition of the GT-I9082
Instructions
1. Download the .zip file
2. Extract it
3. Open terminal and "cd" to the directory, where you extracted it.
4. type
Code:
./efs_backup.sh
if you got "rm failed for /sdcard/efs_tmp.img, No such file or directory", just ignore it
5. You can now find a file named "efs_backup_cwm.zip", you can flash it with cwm to restore your efs-partition
Why should I do that?
That's a simple question: Every Rom you flash and every root-app you use could have a simple bug and override/delete your efs-partition
What is the efs-partition?
It's a partition, wich is needed for any device-specific number like IMEI, Wlan-MAC-adress and so on. If it gets deleted/damaged, your mobile
will nothing more than a Mp3-player, unless you can flash back your old efs-partition.
Can you release it for Windows?
No, because I think every android-user should have linux installed on their pc and it doesn't cost anything. I have a dual-boot, too. If you want it on Windows, feel free to port it, it
won't be hard. If you want to install linux, I suggest you a debian-based distribution, because there will be the best support for android.
