Well i hope i can find a solution here so this is what hapenned. My Tx went swimming i left it aroud the bath tub and someone was calling me but it was on vibracall so i didin´t listen it, then it fall into the water but i saw it and as fast as i could i take out of the water and it was still ringing, but the very first thing i dit was take out the battery and the screen was still visible when i dit that, it was also vibrating untill i take off the battery so, i disasemble it and take out all the parts to dry them with a hair blower, then put it all back together. Well the cellphone turns on and it works as normal but screen is black, i mean only backlight is on but with no video at all,
so i conect it to my tv using an mhl adapter and all the info is on the tv i mean i hav image on the tv but not on the cellphone, i try the display with another motherboard of a damaged tx that i bought and found that the display works well on the other cellphone but not in mine so the problem must be on the motherboard of my cell i guess i hope someone can help me with this.
wow less is more lol, I'm going to suggest a stupid but most probably, the correct solution, recheck the cables inside the phone and make sure they ain't broke, or are in tidy

Hello gentlemen! I would like to hear your opinion about my problem, hopefully there is a good soul outhere that knows how to help me. A couple nights ago I was at the club where an asrsehole bouncer knocked my phone out of my hands while chasing some crackhead. By the time I picked up my x1 those three guards were gone. My device fell onto carpeted area and battery cover came off taking the battery with it. THe device does not have any visible physical damage, but when I try to turn it on, I only receive one vibration but nothing happens afterwards. Tried everything (soft/hard reset), it is not recognised by any pc, and it wouldn't flash a single LED just that one vibration. I'd send it to SE for repair but I have HardSPL on it and I'm unable to flash it in this condition. The boot loader isn't coming up either.... Please help me find a solution, i searched these forums but haven't met a single similar problem !!!!
Warranty would not cover dropping the phone anyway, so what's the problem ? Send it to the SE, you will just have to pay something. In case they change whole board, it's gonna be a lot.
Hmm, I just took it apart and cleaned it from inside. Noticed there is a little button cell battery next to optical joystick on the front piece.
-Is it similar to CMOS/RTC backup, does it perform the same thing in X1 as if it was a PC?
-What would happen if I temporarily disconnected it from a circuit would the device lose it's HardSPL?
Can anyone please tell me what it does for Xperia?
Ihh, why on earth did you take it apart by yourself?
If there were NO visible damages on the phone the warranty should have kicked in ... even though it says that it doesn't cover falls. If there are no visible marks on the phone, it's really really hard to prove that the device actually fell.
In anyway you should have sent it to SE.
And to answer your question ... i think the small battery is indeed what powers the flash memory when the battery empty or missing. Disconnecting it would probably have the same results as a hard reset...I doubt that the HARD-SPL would be erased.

Did you insert the sim card properly? Did you force it on its way in?
It is posiboe that you bent the pins that read the sim card, and caused a short circuit. That's you worst case scenario, though.
Try to connect the phone into flashmode, holding volume down and then plug the USB in while still holding volume down. Does the PC recognizes it? If so l, there is hope, you can try and restore the firmware from there using Sony Update Service.
Umm, i was trying to connect to pc like that, hold volume down and connect, nothing happens. Only when i connect cable to pc or to other energy sources, its red light shining about 5-8seconds, and its gone. When i put it in to wall source(i dont know how its called) it starts to tick sometimes, i mean red shine, nothing, red shine nothing, and all hour, and sometimes red light 5-8secs and its dead. Well i dissamblied my phone now, i dont see any burst parts, everythings looks okay, what should i do? Maybie try to check with power checking screwdriver where power is "walking around" ?
the battery is depleted. you need a wall charger with minimum 2 Amperes output
I would try the same, very good hint

The corosion can take many months after the phone taking water. Anyway next time just start by that point, and buy a new phone if your phone has take water.
Thank you for help dudes, i got luck that i pay for phone insurance, i got new working phone for free. Thank you for trying to help, another z is dead, because of water. NOTE : Dont believe of any waterproofs phones, because i just had it , and it died after 2months of using
People the phone is water RESISTANT. Nobody said you should go diving with it, dunk it in a glass of beer, or spray it with a hose. It's meant to withstand emergenices like spills and quick drops in water.

You should put that on your signature. You cannot be more correct. People goes nuts with the phone, "I will take my phone to some snorkeling", "I'ma bring mah phone to the river rapids", "I'm going to take underwater pictures", etc, etc, etc.
Hi all . Wishing you all a happy holi.
Well as the thread says and since its holi (no explanation required) my phone seems to have shutdown after my friends and I were playing with a water pipe and I (for kicks) hosed my Xperia Z full of water.
After reading a few threads I came to understand that there are damage strip indicators on all panel flaps.
The micro SD flip is still white but the charger/usb cable and headphone jack flaps have turned pink,
The phone also crashed sometime after I hosed it with water and is not powering up.
So what should I do now?
Currently I'm on the advice of 3 friends using the rice method. I have opened all flaps of the phone and submerged it in a bowl of rice so that it dries out all the moisture. I intend to keep it the whole night and try powering it up in the morning.
Options:
1. Try the rice method and hope it works (yay)
2. After failing point 1, keep it in the sun/blower/hair dryer method and try again to power it up,
3. Take it to the Sony Service Center in Lajpat Nagar (I'm from New Delhi) and give it for repair.
P.S - My phone is rooted and running cyanogenmod. Will they charge me extra If I happen to give it for repair when they find out I'm running a custom mod.
I'm asking because Sony does weird things. When I bought the phone last year I dropped it on the ground and scratched a corner. Not too much but the phone was only 3 months old and I felt bad about it so I thought I get the body changed for a small fee.
Turns out Sony does not replace the phone body instead the executive simply told me to pay 50% of the price and I could get a whole new phone since the Xperia's body cannot be changed.
Kindly help!
Thank You
same here though my power button is ****ed up right now.... i have it dipped in rice and would let it be there for 2-3 days...
P.S even my headphone jack and usb are pink now.... i never had it removed from my pocket but had a lot of water splashes...
THIS THREAD SHOULD BE CLOSED. PROBLEM HAS BEEN SOLVED.
My gratitude to the people who were kind enough to reply to my private messages.
Point no. 1 worked.
I covered the phone in rice in a plastic bowl and left it for a whole day in my car where it got heated.
After that I tried powering it on. Seeing as I had already pretty much destroyed the phone I decided to give it one last shot on charging the phone which I hadn't done in case it short circuits and voila! The red light turns on and my phone is charging.
No problems detected.
Network/3G is working. Tried whatsapp, sms and used the camera and music player. Speakers are fine too. Same goes for the screen. Seems no damage done to the phone at all. Will need to change the screen guard though. Its become moist. I'll use the phone and reply on how the battery has been performing.
I'm sold. This is a SOLID PHONE. And I was worried that I'd have to shell out 15-20k because the damage indicators on the 2 flaps had turned pink.
Yup same here.... Although as I had water in my back camera.... It's left dust on my camera lens

Hello guys, I own a XZ since the past year and after only two months of use my little kid dropped it on the water without closing all the flaps and bang, the phone instantly died and all the flaps got red. I took it to Sony and they refused to fix it because it was caused by bad use, in fact. I tried all the possibly ways to fix it,vaccum, no sucess, the phone was completely dead. I decided to leave it away and the phone as been in my closet since then, it was about nine months ago.
Yesterday after I found it in my closet I decided to try to turn it on once again and as expected it didn't worked (i left in the wall charger for about 16 hours before trying to turn on, no response).
So as a final try,I opened the phone backplate and whoah, the phone suddenly turned on. Someone here experienced something like this?
After turning on I noticed that the external speaker wasnt working (I dont really care, the phone revived, I should'nt ask for much) but... Someone as a tip for fixing this? Is the only thing not working on the phone.
Thanks!!!
Ps: phone backplate still opened, and the sound works if I plug a earphone

My nexus 6 falled from my hand to a small puddle of rainwater like for 15-25 seconds, i picked off it then i saw that all works normally i dried it with my shirt and, saved it in to my pocket after a few minutes i wanted to do a phone call but saw that the screen were all black and showing some lines i went to my house and tried some times to turn it on but anything worked, then i left it in a container with rice for 24 hours today i tried to turn it on but it is not working , when i push the On button it just show some lines with a very light green/yellow background and the green notification Led is turned on. What i can do? what is happening to my nexus?i need to buy a new screen? is there another way to save my phone?
Any suggestion?
Hope someone could help me
i had taken some photos but i can't post it due to the restrictions of a minimum of 10 post in the forum but there is an album with two photos of the nexus in my profile.
It could be the screen. Mainboard is also a possibility here. Someone is going to have to look at it and see what's wrong.

Thank you so much for answering, by the way i have posted some images of the phone in an album in my profile.
Rule of thumb with possible water damage is NOT to turn the phone on until it is dry. By turning on the Nexus, you guaranteed yourself a repair bill at best, or having to purchase a new phone at worst. Looking at the pics in your profile, your problem is on the motherboard. Someone will have to take the device apart and look at it to be sure, but you're likely looking at a motherboard replacement.
If you have a warranty, try using it.

[UPDATE] First i opened the nexus and disconected the battery from the phone dried competely with a towel then i left the phone for half an hour in a warm place then i dried it a little more with a heat gun , after that i left it in a bag of rice for two days and today i taked out the nexus, conected it to the charger then the green led started to turn on again, left it like for 4 minutes charging and then the nexus suddenly turned on! with all functioning correctly the screen the sim wifi all! , i was so happy and lifted up the smartphone to look at it but then the screen started to show some blurred lines and blue colors and a little bit distorsioned graphic interface in the screen but with all elements in screen.
Now i turned off the nexus
The problem could be the flexor of the screen?
because when i removed the back cover of the nexus with a guitar pick maybe i damaged the flexor or something like that
What i should do?

As I've said repeatedly, get someone to look at it. With the symptoms you describe, there could be multiple causes, and only a technician or repair center can determine the actual cause.

Thank you
Don't get angry
It was the flexor , All works nice but the flash does not work
I will try to repair it
I'm not angry, but I don't like having to repeat myself. Anyway, let us know if you get the flash fixed.
