Is it possible to make a system image of the xperia v jb firmware for flashing in bootloader? I tried flashing via flashtool but the phone cannot stay in flash mode. I also tried flashing kernel then installing zip in recovery but i'll just boot into a image with an exclamation mark with a phone beside it. I'm currently on cm10.1 but i really want to go back to stock sony jb. If it is not possible to make img then is there any other way to put stock back into the phone?
Re: [Q] system.img for xperia v
Really? No one knows?

I am wondering why your phone wouldn't stay in flash mode.
Anyway, try to install using Supersport ROM.
Just to make sure: do you actually see an image which shows a triangle with a spanner and screwdriver in it? If so, then you might have to wait for a couple of hours for it to go away. I left it overnight and my battery monitoring widget shows that my V was down for a couple of hours, before booting up and going to the home screen.
Re: [Q] system.img for xperia v
You have to make a .ftf file and flash it.

How do I customise the signature on xda premium app?
Re: [Q] system.img for xperia v
Thanks, I'll try when in have time to risk the phone. Anyway its not the sign youre talking about. Mines just an exclamation mark beside a phone. Fyi if it might help I was trying to flash the stock ftf when flash tool on mac crashed. I suspect a corruption in some partition used by the stock ROM as I can use any custom ROM but not stock based ROMs. Any ideas?

Ahh, no
But it will download the latest FW for you and then you can create a FTF file using the instructions from the all in one thread, then flash that.
If you have issues with flashmode then you mus wait for flashtool to tell you to go into flashmode first.
Also, you can flash a stock based rom from the dev section to go back to stock.
Re: [Q] system.img for xperia v
Ok, thanks I'll try the flash tool thing. And flashing stock roms is the thing that doesnt work, as I've said in the op

Yes, but it should work..can you try it again and if it fails can you post the log output from flashtool so we can see the error.
Also, which FTF file are you trying to flash, please provide the link.
Re: [Q] system.img for xperia v
Flashing the boot works, flashing the ROM in recovery works, but booting doesn't. It'll boot to the Sony boot screen with the 'Sony' word on it, then it'll go into the screen with an image of a phone and an exclamation mark. Then it'll reboot and do the same thing and so on. And the ftf is the stock jb ftf from the dev forum
Sent from my Xperia V using xda app-developers app
OK, which stock ftf are you flashing? Please provide the link. I want to know this because I find any ftf files in the dev section for the V.
Also, please post the output from flashtool when you flash the stock ftf.

So i tried again and flashtool aborted the flashing apparently, as seen in the log attached.
Change the name of the file to LT25i_9.1.A.0.490_Singapore.ftf

Not sure, but it could do.
Also, try redownloading the file.
I tried, and it really worked! Thank you so much! Now I am back on stock sony jb.

Thats what I did, but I still felt the need to write a post about it
Hey guys,
Unfortunately I have encountered a sudden death with my Xperia Z yesterday. I had:
- Unlocked bootloader
- Stock kernel
- Stock based rom
- Recovery for locked bootloader, because I was still testing it.
I wanted to try the whitebalance.apk from Xperia ZL rom to seeif it worked or to debug if it didn't.
Anone else had a sudden death or a similar problem like softbrick? Let me know and post as many details as possible.
I've tried everything so don't say:
- Try a hard reset
- Try fastboot
- Try Flashmode
- Try charging it for hours
EDIT: More details:
- C6603
- No LED
- Vo vibration
- Nothing after hours of charging.
Only thing I haven't tried is connecting in a dock, because I don't have one. Black97 told me he solved the issue by connecting to the dock.
Do you still have any led notifications(red, blue, green)?
Did you manage to use the white balance settings?could be the value set burns the screen??

would u pls tell ur xZ is; C6603 Or C6602?
and kernel
Off topic I know, but I bricked by Xperia U by removing the battery through a freeze. It wouldn't boot or charge. But I left in on charge for an hour, and it booted. As well as that, it had downgraded from V4 of a ROM I was running to V3.
On a brick that makes no sense, fix it in a way that makes no sense.

Any Device recognized? I actually think you messed up your CPU/Mainbord somehow... ...or is it a memory/flash problem?
Hope you can solve it

Hello krabappel2548 !
- to understand that not really worth to unlock bootloader !
- XZ is so sensitive that he breaks so fast ?
I know you as a consummate professional ( I do not think it is because of you, rather I go on a platform quite sensitive to the Sony ...)
I bought it a few days ago and I'm going to do some custom rom and kernel for it - but now I remains to think about that ....
Good luck & hope that you resolve the situation :good:
( sure, I need to unlock bootloader first : )

Battery cover on the Z is unremovable.
My guess is he just had an unlucky device. I've read about one dead Xperia Z before on another forum so it's entirely possible. Doubt it's related to anything else.
Did you experience any extraordinary heat from the phone before it crashed?
Maybe try smelling for burns or something.
Recover your phone with SUS, i recovered my x10mini several times.

Hello guys,
I just rooted my Xperia Z and flashed this ROM on to my Xperia Z: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2262905
After flashed I clicked reboot system now on CWM. However, the phone didn't restart. After a minute, I turned it on myself but the screen would not come on, it was totally blank. I connected it to the charger (it's in charging now) and a RED LED keeps flashing.
What should I do? Please help .
Also, like a dimwit I didn't backup my phone so please give me methods to back it up in it's current state just in case any methods you guys recommend delete the data on my phone.
PLEASE HELP!
Thanks,
raheem

Hello XDA Members
I'm fairly new to ROM's and all that.
I'm having major issues with my Xperia Z. I have tried installing so many Roms and spent the last 4 days trying to either find a ROM that is stable and will not crash or find out how to stop the crashing. I really need help!
I've installed:
PACMAN ROM [once]
CM 10.2.1 (stable) [about 3 times]
Cm11 [about twice]
Used Emma (Sony's flash tool) [10+ times]
Each one of those has crashed when either launching an app or doing anything even the so called stable ROM.
Does anyone know how to fix this? Or you can recommend me a ROM?
My device:
Sony Xperia Z Telstra locked
Unlocked bootloader with root access and CWM Recovery.
Originally Telstra version of 4.2 but Emma upgraded me to 4.4.2

Give this a shot
wipe the device completely from recovery(Dalvik cache, cache partition, data, data internal SD,format system)
reset the battery stats
Flash AOKP and check whether there is any difference
Okay thank you, how do I reset the battery status?
Any chance that you have a link to AOKP? I've tried to find it before but all the links are dead.
Thanks
