Follow @nkk71's guide listed in my signature for full back to stock.. Remember going to S-ON on any bootloader other than 1.44 WILL result in tampered flag coming back.

Help, Back to stock for repair, cracking me up aarghhhhhh

Hi guys i knew the ins and out of my galaxy S3, but need help with my htc one
I know this is a big ask but having a real bad time trying to get this sorted, but need to get back to stock for new digitizer replacement.
i am running ARHD 11 with unlocked bootloader S-off, latest firmware. and twrp on my UK HTC_001
Is there a full guide to get me back to stock, as i have trawled through the forum and have about 10 tabs with various information but its getting to confusing as to what to do first with out bricking my phone.
i tried to do my stock nandroid backup first but that gave me no touchscreen function, not sure if that's because i have updated to the latest firmware, so had to flash ARHD back to get touchscreen function agian.
i then relocked the bootloader and that wiped my phone so had no system to boot into just cwm recovery. Tried to sideload rom but that didn't work adb error closed.
then i fastboot flash twrp, and then usb otg flashed arhd 11 from usb stick, working agian.
this is doing my head in, been at this for 3 days and getting nowhere
in what order do i go about this to get to full stock without bricking
need to be S-on
locked bootloader
revone locked not relocked
stock uk HTC_001 unbranded rom
unroot.
Big thanks in advance guys if you can help.
You should be able to install a 401 RUU and then
./revone -l
fastboot oem writesecureflag 3
thanks benpope, need a bit more of a guide dude,
not sure what RUU i need, my phone is uk unbranded htc_001
do i fastboot the RUU rom?
revone-l , is to turn relocked to locked i guess
thanks

I would gain S-off and unlock bootloader again then flash this RUU in fastboot
http://bugsylawson.com/files/file/1...13323127-1031113105-release-310878-signedexe/
RUU (ROM Update Utility)
Connect your device to the PC
Open/run the RUU and follow on screen instructions.
Set up your phone once it reboots then check for software update and you should get the 1.29.401.12 update.
When you have installed the update you can use revone to set S-on and lock your bootloader.
./revone -l
fastboot oem writesecureflag 3
This is what I did and it worked for me.

If i were you i would write superCID from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2317536. leave S-Off as it is and only lock the bootloader and then just flash the latest WWE RUU and you`re done. Unless you have a problem with your phone and need to turn it in for repair.
Cheers guys will give it a go in the morning, on nightshift at the mo

Getting stuck at RUU error 170 usb cable connection, must be a driver error.

Adb updated, htc drivers, HTC sync, pdanet installed but still getting RUU ERROR 170 usb cable not connected when trying to run Ruu Rom. Adb devices dosent see my device, it did 2 days ago.
No driver installs when I plug phone into pc in bootloader mode, pdanet used to pop up too, but dosent any more, reinstalled them all but still the same, even used cccleaner to fix registries.

I have a zip you can flash which will fully hard brick your phone with no chance of HTC recovery if you need it, will probably result in a new phone and not just a new touchscreen.

Man, that's dark.
Is this confirmed? Has anybody flashed this, then sent their phone for warranty repair?
My phone, as far as I could tell was hard bricked (AOSP), but HTC was able to pull up my bootloader to tell me they were gonna need $200 to replace my main board.
It has been confirmed as it was initially flashed accidentally by someone. However, I won't be sharing the link as I feel it isn't morally right to do it

Flashing an OTA?

I have an HTC one running 4.3 google play I want it to be back to stock so I can sell it. It was originially running Bell mobility but I could not find an RUU for Bell but I found some OTA's for bell. how would I go about this, is it possible? Can I use another RUU and then flash the OTA for bell would that work?
If anyone has a bell RUU that would help alot thank you.

If you fully converted to GPe, then you have s-off. Change the CID and flash a WWE Developers Edition RUU.

You can't with s-on. Flash a backup of your carriers stock rom and a stock recovery. Your phone will still say Tampered and Relocked.

If you never S-off before then you haven't changed your CID. If that's the case then follow @Mike1986 guide to going back to stock. Use method 3.: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2265618. Grab the CWM stock Nandroid for your device from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=45187010&postcount=1. [deleted]
That should work as long as you haven't changed your CID before.
Correction: That nandroid should have the stock recovery in it, if it's not then you'll have to search for it and flash it via fastboot. My apologies.

Will following what you said make the root untraceable. Meaning the warranty will be unvoided?

No, because your bootloader will indicate "Re-locked" instead of "Locked". Also, your IMEI was registered in HTC's database when you unlocked the bootloader via htcdev website. Only way to cover some of your tracks is to S-off the device by Revone if possible and using their lock command. It involves some risk. Rooting the phone doesn't always void the warranty, many times they'll will honor it if it's a genuine hardware issue.

You don't flash a nandroid. You unzip it and use the restore function.

[SOLVED] Stuck in bootloop, can anyone help??

I got my HTC one about two weeks ago and rooted it right away. Then today I mistakenly followed this guide here to upgrade to 4.3
htconeroot.c om/htc-one-stock-roms/official-android-4-3-stock-rom-root-for-htc-one-attt-mobileunlockedinternational/
(I put in a space in the link above since I am too new to the forum so can't post links)
Now I'm stuck in a bootloop. Tried restore backup, factory reset, clean cache etc. to no avail. I am a noob here could someone please help me??? Should I get S-OFF and install RUU? How do I do that?
Follow this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=44243635
And from now on make sure whatever you are doing is for the Sprint HTC One.

My bootloader screen now says "relocked" with S-ON, maybe I can go ahead with the RUU then.
Question: how do you find out which RUU version I have on my phone right now?

Error 140, cant return phone to stock

I restored a nandroid backup of another HTC one to my device, it was successful until the phone booted up and the screen wasnt responsive. I tried to do factory reset in twrp but that didnt work either. So searched he forums on how to unbrick the HTC one and it told me to use RUU. I got the RUU from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2250904 but the program told me i had the wrong bootloader. any suggestions so I can get my phone running again?
I have HBoot-1.55 with S-ON

[Q] [HELP] RUU / factory reset method needed for Vodafone UK

Hi all,
Sorry if this isn't posted in the right place, please tell me and I will shift it!
Essentially I have been stuck for a few weeks. I need to send my phone back to Vodafone but I recent rooted it, didn't take a back up of the legit software and now can't get back!
Some details on the phone:
CID: VODAP001
HBOOT: 1.56
VERSION: 4.19.161.Xx (i forget the last bit)
Last version of android running (encase it helps): 4.4.2
I've tried HTC guru reset but when applying the ota it just hits a boot loop. I've tried all s-off methods (firewater and rumrunner) with a mixture of roms + kernels to no success.
I'm rather stumped and not sure what to do next! Any help would be appreciated, or if someone has the RUU to reinstall?
Thanks in advance for any help / advice you can off!

When you ran the Guru Reset did you select stock recovery? Did it complete or did it give you an error? If it completed and you tried to receive the OTA did you relock your bootloader first? To successfully run an OTA you must have the stock recovery, stock rom and locked/relocked bootloader if you are S-ON.

Hi majmoz,
Thanks for the quick reply!
Unfortunately no errors, it ran through fine, installed ok with no errors and restarted fine ( and yes selected stock recovery). Works fine until I try and install an ota.
I've tried a few times now, each time I have re-locked the boot loader and it still just sends my phone into a boot loop

Don't worry, fastboot getvar all is not required, I have a TWRP backup here of that rom:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B_nEcSZr5peRZnpMSHRPRjlzX2c/edit?usp=sharing
you will need to get it onto your phone then restore it through TWRP
However, what do you intend to do about the TAMPERED and UNLOCKED flags you have in your bootloader ? this voids warranty.

Thanks so much!
I intend to hope they don't look hehe. From my experience if it's hardware they do a quick check on the settings, about phone then get down to business.
After that, I won't do an update until I can s-off and put everything back to how it should be.
Thanks again!
