[Q] Galaxy Ace, digitizer not working - Galaxy Ace S5830 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello guys,
recently, I've bought a second hand Galaxy Ace for very little, the phone had the screen broken (outer glass). I bought a digitier but still, it does not recognize it, nor the tactile buttons. The home button, volume, power... work perfectly, as everything else in the MoBo. I have even installed CM11 on it.
Any advise, what could it be? The LCD looks OK, altough it haves a dead pixel. Maybe just changing the LCD would mate it work?
Thanks guys!

First of all, Wrong section Mate! Always post such questions in the Samsung Galaxy Q/A section. Now as per your description and assuming that all the connections were correct, I think the digitizer you bought is not meant for Samsung Galaxy Ace GT 5830. Usually when your install a digitizer is not meant for your device, it cannot be recognized. Can you make sure if it was indeed meant for our device? Here is a similar post,
Digitizer not working
Do post the result. Hope I Helped

Sorry, and thanks for the info, next time I will know where to post
That thread says that the digitizer was for s5830 instead for his s5830i. Mine is a S5830, digitizer for S5830, so the model fits the phone

[Q] touch-pad / display seperation !?

Hi
Is was hoping if someone could help me with something...
I have a Samsung Galaxy S I9000 and the touch-pad got broken but display is intact.
Someone told me that I cant buy only the touch-pad ( i think its called a digitizer too ...), that I need to buy a touch-pad with display in one piece.
So I wanna know If I can replace the touch-pad without removing my display which is intact.
Thanks in advance
Unfortunately the whole thing(screen n touchpad) is a single unit...I don't think u can buy it seperately.. try though
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA Premium App
You can find only display+digitizer... i think this is because the display is amoled. I had a galaxy spica and I broke my digitizer, and i replaced it (without having to buy the lcd)
sorry mate for your phone

[Q] Waterproof/Underwater case/pouch for N7000?

Hi all,
I've been looking around but I've not found any waterproof/underwater case/pouch thingy that goes with the Galaxy N7000?
I would like to bring along my N7000 for a holiday with snorkeling & water sports, and planning to capture some underwater video/image.
Seen something like that for Samsung Galaxy S2...but for our Galaxy Note?
Anyone using one? Any recommendation from fellow XDA-ian?
*btw, I'm from Malaysia & I know there are some on Ebay but they don't post to Malaysia. Not sure why thou.
Thanks & regards,

shame there are not many... you should check your boat stores just incase... thats where i will probably find one that kinda fits.
you cant use the touch screen if its wet anyways and the n7000 doesnt have much real buttons too... unless the screen has wet finger tech like the one on the sony xperia active.

Is i9000 screen compatible with i9001

My screen cracked, so I need a new one. My question is, is the screen of i9000 fully compatible with the one on i9001..I have found many answers to this question, but some say yes, some say no..Did anyone had any experiance in this, and can confirm is it working or not? thx
Well i've had my screen broken once, and decided to bring it to a local repairsman, when i got it back, the frame (the side of the screen) was silver instead of black, just like the one of the samsung galaxy I9001.
So i think it could work, also because it is the same size and resolution.

Note 8 Bend Out of the box ?

Hi,
Yesterday i have received my galaxy note 8, loved it, but i have a small issue (or not?)
I spotted that the bixby button and the volume button is not perfectly alligned. This seems really strange and made me think is my device is bend?
Can you help me by taking a look to this in your devices ?
mine seems to be fine thats weird maybe a manufacturing issue?
Mine also look aligned.

Can you post some photos of your phone?
No such problems here. If you feel you have an issue you MUST go to your outlet and discuss this with them. Let us know how you get on.

Just had a quick look. Mine are fine.

Touchscreen unresponsive after flashing the wrong rom

I wanted to flash the new hyper rom v11 gt-i9305 so i got all excited and foolishly flashed the note 2 rom. I also have a note 2 so i downloaded it for both the phones and flashed the note 2 on the s3. Now the touchscreen wont respond and its annoying as I literally just got out of a bootloop today. I did backup my phone but it didn't seem to save as Twrp doesn't recognise it. I tried flashing the stock rom and wiping cache and davlik cache and then rebooting but that didn't work. I tried going back to RR but that didn't work either. (I flashed these roms but using odin to get phliz touch and using the keys to navigate). I think it isn't a hardware problem and I hope not. Do you have any ideas on your mind? Happy to try it out. I need to save my jewel of a phone as this has been with me for ages and I need it to last longer. (I prefer over the note 2 as a daily driver).
I am sorry to confirm, that your touch is broken now. By flashing a rom for t0lte, will say especially the kernel, is burning and so destroying the touch screen of the i9305. I had this also, when I accidentally compiled the kernel with the wrong defconfig.

Well is there a fix? Replacing the components or hardware e.g. motherboard or lcd cable?
Yes sure, you can replace the touch display unit. But whether this is worth for the/your good old i9305? Depends on the price, sure and often you can get some used spare parts or cheap used and complete mobiles.

Dang. Really? I just looked at the prices and I can't find any digitizer listed under $70. Is there any workaround? I'm sure your telling me the truth about how there's no fix but is there a cheaper way out of this?
UPDATE: I found a cheap digitizer for the s3 but it doesn't say if its also for the 4G version. So would the i9300 digitizer work on the i9305? I'm not talking about the whole lcd, just the digitizer and the glass lens.
