I see one other post. I started training in September of last year, shortly before I turned 30. I've had one fight, which I lost via decision (that I disagree with). I have another coming up here in August that I'm starting to prepare for now.
I'm personally more of a grappler/jiu jitsu guy; I just enjoy the ground game a lot more than I do standup.
STREET FIGHTER COUNT? <--- they should let that be recognized as a professional sport.

Street Fighter, as in the game? Or Street fighter as in you end up in fights in various locales (be they started by your or not)?

I used to do boxing for 14 years and i got involved a bit with judo and greco-roman wrestling but I quit the last 2 years. I want to start doing something again and I'm considering go for mma
mfknboss - I spose you could, though I personally don't see *all* of the sport in there.
mprou - That's a pretty good base, overall.
Well the bare knuckle aka prize fighting was a professional sport for 100 yrs until the queensburry rules came into effect..prior to those rules in all of bare knuckle 100 yr history there was not 1 fatality..now "with" gloves there are 3-4 fatalities in the ring per year. The last bare knuckle heavyweight fight went 75 rounds dont get me wrong mma is bad ass..and GSP is a beast..but i am a HUGE fan of bare knuckle

Hi all,
i have been using this forum for some months after I got my amazing android phone. I am happy there is finally competition for good phones that are not iphones. I do not like apple's way of doing business and definitely the smugness of most people who get an iphone and think their coolness has gone off charts.
You know what I mean? People who have a need to show off their iproducts in public? I am so happy i have an android. Android people are so much fun to talk to and cool to discuss wasy to improve their phone.
Apple's best product has been the ismug What do you think? do you know what i am talking about?
Message to the moderator: i hope this is the right forum(if not please move it)
that is so true! i personally appreciate the quality of apple products, however i believe that apple products are incredibly overpriced, and their biggest advantage is their biggest downfall: Apples iron grip on their software
Lemme tell you a short story.
I am on a trip to Athens the other day and,as everyone in a large city,I used the subway to go to my destination.Entering the train,I found a seat next to a guy who looked like being 20-25 years old.He didn't seem geeky at all in fact.I sat next to him,but then he did something he shouldn't have.He pulled an iPhone 4 out of his pocket!Oh sh!t.There was also a girl sitting right in front of us,in a seat looking towards us.She told him "Nice phone you have there"(She had an old Sony Ericsson btw).He found a chance to show off then. And then, after I had lost my temper,I pulled my Galaxy S 2 out of my pocket and started playing with it.He looks at it,his eyes go wider than usual and awe was obvious in his expression. The girl(a beauty in fact) turns to my side and says "Your phone is nicer than the iPhone".Then I started to show off.The games, the screen, the effects, everything was better. That iSmug next to me turned white and got off at the next stop. The girl and I had a...nice time after that btw.
And what's the moral of the story?Android ftw!
Tolis that is an amazing story.
i think the only way to strike back at the apple cult is to make fun of their smugness
ps hi from thessaloniki
ps 2 Galaxy S ii is great
Most of the people think iProducts are COOL. It has now become a factor of an individual's "coolness".
Then someone pulls out their android phone and they're like, "Is that samsung?", "Bleh".
I am bored of listening: you have a Samsung? It looks like an iclone...;
Haha, Tht was funny and intersting at the same time

Doesn't work here in the NYC metro. I whipped my G2 out playing some game and blasting my music so everyone could hear, but then I look around and everyone has an iPhone out. Only a few android devices. And crap, I was gonna flash a new rom tonight.

This douchebag in my boy scout troop once compared his 80 gigabyte iPod to my 2 gigabyte Samsung YP-T9. Another person pulled out his 8 gig Nano and harassed me about mine being inferior. Got into a fight and quit scouting for good. Mine had an FM radio and Bluetooth.
I am 16, in grade 10 and my grades are on a downhill tract. I got As and Bs in 8 and 9 but G10 is extremely hard and pressuring. I study hard every day and do NOT game a lot(Maybe 15 mins a day playing BF3). I know G11 and G12 are going to be much harder, and I will never get to go to University/College.
What could I do? I really feel bad.
If you are taking honor or AP classes drop them and get regular classes. I say its better to get As and Bus in regular than Cs and Ds in honors. You'll get a higher GPA. If your worried about college admission look into joining a sport. You'd be surprised at the people that are in college. Not all are book worms. Community college isn't a bad thing to join either. Talk to your school counselor.

You need to examine where your grades are lacking. Are you completing and turning in all homework? How are your test grades?
Tutoring is a good idea, too. I don't know you, so this one is unlikely, but if you have even minor learning disabilities, there is a LOT that can be done.
All challenges can be overcome if you understand the areas of weakness and devise a plan to overcome them, specifically.
-Accidental Asshole
If you can, a tutor can work wonders. They can be expensive I realize. My son homeschools, and we got him a tutor for algebra. It has really made a difference for him.
When I was in school, wow 22 years ago, I got behind and never caught back up. I did get a 3.0 GPA, but only because. I was real good in certain classes, so be wise with you course selections. Pick subjects that you can do well in to go along with the rest. You would probably find your teachers to be very helpful if you asked them for help. They love it when someone wants to learn, and shows initiative.
Also, college is not the only way to make it in life. There are many fields and business opportunities for someone without a college degree. I am not rich, but have zero debt, own my house, cars, toys, etc... I own my own company and never finished college. Just wasn't for me. I know several millionaires who never went to college. They were just smart with their choices!
Don't give up. That never accomplished anything .
Good luck.
Go rob a bank, then get caught and go to jail. You will get free food/clothes/shelter.

If you have a chance to do some internships at museums or a zoo, go for it, I did and had a blast! It adds an element of fun to high school. Also I transferred out of high school to the high school completion program at my community college in Portland, absolutely loved it! Anyway just be smart and enthusiastic about your choices, and try to enjoy a few courses along the way.

Since there will be a lot of new faces in the N5 section, and of course a lot of love and hate affairs will be taking place in the next year I find that when we put a face to a name there seems to be more friendly communication. I have done this in another device section on XDA and it turned out to be really successful and extremely fun as well.
If you guys are interested and the admin are okay with it then let's get it started and start posting up some pics of yourself, family etc.
If everyone prefers to be incognito here then we can just close this thread.....
I am 37, married with one kid and live in the US, North Carolina. Grew up in NY though.
My smart phone journey started years back with a Windows Pocket PC phone PPC-6600 if anyone remembers that. Started out at Sprintusers.com and then moved to PPCGEEKS.com for all my needs. I used to be scared of XDA. It was the place where the big boys hung out. Man, it was intimidating. Then I slowly built up the courage to check out XDA for myself and slowly worked my way in here.
Now we have so many different levels of users and while some might think that is a bad thing I think it's great. We all have to start somewhere and seeing people transition from noobs with not a clue to the ones helping others and some guys even taking on development themselves, it is a great community we have here!

Coming from am N4 I am mostly looking forward to the 5" 1080p screen. A 4.7" screen is nice if there weren't soft keys on the screen so a 5" should be just the right amount of real estate with the soft keys.
I know you can remove them and use other options but I like my keys usable without any other actions.

It will also help when communicating in the other threads as you might think twice on how you react to people when they ask certain things. They are not just a punk teen hiding behind a nickname...They are an old guy, acting like a punk teen hiding behind a nickname. Lol

I'm all about free stuff. All my computer programs are open source. In a sucker for by one get one free. I clip coupons. And now with a kid on the way, I'm all about the free goods companies send you.
So if you've got one or one is coming, let's share the sites/places/businesses to get the goods.
Similac, the formula company will send lots of liquid and powder formula along with some bottles.
similac.com
Pampers, the diaper company will send a couple diapers. But they do hook you up with tons of coupons.
pampers.com
So what have you found? Share the wealth, Bogart.
