[Q] GB upgrade + UC Kernel

Hello,
I need to flash a SGS (i9000) with the lastest GB upgrade (I suppose 2.3.6), and use a UC Kernel. Can u inform me where I can found it (The GB ROM and the kernel) ?

Whats a UC kernel? And why does it have to be 2.3.6 rom?
I would suggest looking at milkys rom its perfect in every way, battery life excellent , fast as hell, stable, its The most complete rom in my opinion.

[Q] Need more RAM

Hi,
I'd like to know which ROM is capable of starting up and run with less memory? What I mean to ask is, I want a ROM that starts up with < 150mb of ram and provide me more space for running my downloaded apps.
I've tried MIUI, CM9, etc., all starts up with 300mb utilized! Gives me only 30-50 mb space
I know my device is getting older Waiting for S3

Hi, does the android version makes any diffrence to you?
If it doesn't i will probbably suggest you to use GamerzRom.
the problem is that the base kernel of Gamerz is SemforeBM and you can't youse 720P quality while taking a video.
however, you can always use another kernel, though with BM the performence are awsome.

I think Slim and Infinitum are best for RAM on ICS, GamerzRom best on GB.

For GB gamerz rom, i'm in v9 and when i start the phone it use 150mb of ram (200mb of free ram) for v10 it will be more
on ics (slim) you have kernel with 402MB ram
for my phone i still prefer gb and gamerz rom

Use ICSSGS RC4.2 + Devil2 0.72 XL kernel i got 200-210 mb free ram with this config.

Just use a stock froyo rom (2.2 or 2.2.1) like JS8.
JS8 is probably on of the best roms for our device, fast and stable.
Don't forget, if you flash another rom do a factory reset to remove previous garbage from other roms.

Use Slim Rom, always have 200 mb ram free for apps.

Are you sure? Its fast and support all Apps? How long are you using this ROM? How many Application/Game do you use?

I dont mind about the Android version. GB is okay with me. But does Gamerz ROM gives more of usable RAM? How long are you using?

Currently i don't use this rom because i got tired of messing up with roms and decided to keep my phone as stock as possible.
Before this decision i used the phone for months and i was quite happy, the performance is good at any level (Games, OS Smoothness), i don't remember any app that i couldn't use. Also the network and wireless levels were very good.
Also it's the stock rom with highest quadrant score if i'm not mistaken.
But keep in mind, each type of user has it's rom, so it depends from person to person.

Only ICS kernel with swap is devil 0.73 test version. Swap feature works great for many guys.

if want the ICS try slim sics or Aokp + devil 2.72 xl kernel
I'm om Aokp+ devil i have free ram with some apps running between 190 to 160 free ram
and if wanna Gb try gamerz i think the best GB free ram Rom

Thanks to everyone who replied.
I've now installed Slim ICS 3.1 (from WeUI) and happy about the performance, as I get solid 150-200 MB free RAM memory always. I will use this for 2 weeks and then update here about the performance with apps/games installed.
Also, I will install below ROMs suggested by you guys.
Gamerz
ICSSGS + devil
Stock froyo JS8 ( hopefully, I won't like it)
In Slim ICS, have to try (1) Devil kernel, (2) a kernel with swap (devil again - 0.73)
AOKP + devil

I not sell my phone csl mi410,I just put my phone in my house,anyway my csl mi 410 now using icecoldsandwicth v8.7 update by lord clockan 30 September..but I cant share now to you all bcoz right now I'm at hospital,very bad I got sick..

yup this kernel can use on every ics cm9 base,, but not for miui..
About performance,, need feedsback from other user..

Right now i am using it on MIUI ics. No problems so far. Wifi works as well.

Kernel so far... okay so we've got new governors a long awaited ondemandX is here and tell you what it works flawlessly. Games are smoother on the edges and more responsive. Feels like a strong base do not have lag problems with native browser anymore. Thanks again Aben for making this happen.
P.S On Ice Cold Sandwich 8.4

what about bluetooth audio in ICS is it working with this kernel ??

i want i fast and lite rom with not any theme from ics or JB or somthing other!
i want only fast ,full warking and mach of my phone (memmory) card and all this with a very good kernet!
can any body help me?

Go for retribution rom. Its in the development tread. Just with a holo launcher...otherwise perfect for performance....i guess it has got a older kernel...which shud be good for you...as the newest one has some bugs.

Then go for any deodexed stock rom. All other are themed. And the latest kernel is buggy. Reboots. You should be more than happy with the old version.
Ask someone if they have any previous versions.
As far as i know. Retribution hasnt got any bugs. Moreover, its a barebone rom....how can it occupy so much of your memory?

with my castom official rom i have 20mb free but this id rom is official and have nook kernet and it is from cosmote (it not good)
with all other roms i have 3-14 mb free.. beacause it have holo and other launchers and programmes i want a "license" rom
a good castom with good kernel is the best from me!!!

Remove some applications in system. Deodex rom alucard only default launcher, not holo or otherwise.

[Q] How to overclocked s6500D to 1.1 ghz on CM 10.1 rom and more free ram

Hi there. I have a question at title and need help. Becase mini 2 is too lag and less free ram so i wonder: is there any ways to make my s6500d more smooth and fast. Thaks a lot ^^

Most custom roms for mini 2 like cyanogenmod does not support overclock. Will just unlock the stock processor speed 1Ghz. I said that, because if you select an higher value phone will crash or reboot.
Just stock rom can be overclocked up to 1,12 Ghz and cm9 at 1,1 Ghz.
Also brian kernel can be installed on stock rom (but camcorder will not work) and cm10.1 but wifi and camera will not work. Brian kernel have 411 mb Ram avaiable for OS.
Also, to make this phone fast you should be rooted and deodexed and rom should be zipalligned with int.d scripts. To boost OS speed use squadzone kernel. To improve rom stability flash lastest 2014 rom from samsung (branded movistar). /Or another rom, but you will also need to de-bloatware it (deleting useless apps/files)

1)To root mini 2 is enough to install clockworkmod recovery and reboot phone. If you're not rooted it will ask you if you want to write su (superuser) binary.
To overclock stock rom you will need to install squadzone's kernel from an custom recovery like cwm or twrp.
2) Mini 2 does not have full working custom roms like stock rom. Cyanogenmod 10.1 rom have problems with fm radio and whitescreen. Well, all mini 2 cm have that problems.
If you decided to use cm10.1 and you want to boost it , delete useless apps (not neessary apps), like voice dialer or vpn config, gmail, dev tools, and other apps that you don't use.
Also, I need to mention here that all mini 2 custom roms have a problem with camcorder performance. It will lag while you rec. a video. I noticed , the bad video performance on cm10.1 and higher like cm10.2, cm11 (games have graphical issues instead stock rom) .
Else I don't know what to do to boost cm...

And one more thing, if i dowload some game like gta vice city, play it stable on what? CM 10.1 or stock rom (rooted and overclocked)

Squadzone kernel does not have bugs till MD1 PDA verdsion.
If you flash MK1 ROM, wifi will be broken. A fix for that is avaiable on dev forum.

Last summer I've tried to flash squadzone's kernel into CyanogenMod 10.1 but I had a bootloop!

In case of when i flash this kernel, after that i want to flash CM 10.1, is that just go to recovery, wipe all and flash CM10.1 or anything else?
Can u give me some ROM smooth and fast. less heavy than stock rom ?

squadzone kernel can be used only on stock rom.

wifi fix is here : click
direct download : click
zip is not flashable, you will need to replace that file with root explorer!

Cm10.1 without bugs
You could flash the cm10.1 improved by bleached without bugs which comes with 410mb RAM and other bugs fixed and it works fine

Yep man! I have this ROM right now and it's very stable!

But you can't overclock your sgm2 if you do that you get bluescreen and reboot. For me the squadzone kernel is very awesome and smooth in games. Even in higher games im running on custom rom with squadzone kernel 1.1overclock
