[Q] Rooting 4.4.2 - Moto X Q&A

Hi all, I'd like to know if I am able to root 4.4.2 Moto X. After reading alot, I get a feeling that one of the foremost things I need to do is unlock the bootloader. I will appreciate any help. I just need someone to point me to the right thread. I need instructions on how to unlock the bootloader.

Always read the stickies my friend.
This nice guide is there in general section.

You need to see the "Pie" thread. Your OP said you were on 4.4.2.
There is a new root method (only a partial root - Write protection is not disabled, and root is lost upon reboot), but it is handy for things like Xposed/Gravity Box and WiFi Tether.
Look under the "Original Android Development" There is a thread inside regarding 'Pie', which was authored by one of our very gifted Developers, jcase.
Assuming you are on 4.4.2, this should work for you.
Good Luck

Thread closed as there is already a Guide about Rooting which is well detailed, Please do not open threads before searching..

This is the developer's forum, you should ask all questions in the Q&A section...
The rooting process is the same, you have to downgrade to RC29 using the DREAIMG.nbh as stated in the tutorials.
Follow this tutorial if you have anymore questions

Please post in the correction section or the mods are going to ban you...

How to root my phone

This is my first time doing this. I want to know how to root my phone so I can get android 2.2. I would also like to know which one is the best rom that will make my phone better overall. Any help will be gladly appreciated. If you want also send me links on how to do
the first thing you wanna do it learn to search, then read the stickies that are posted at the top. then try asking in the correct forums like the Q&A for example, try there first, this is a thread for DEVELOPING not asking questions that have been answered 12567357/9718497749189 times
http://romrepo.info/wiki has a writeup on rooting and flashing AOSPGB 0.2.0 Gingerbread

There are instructions everywhere on how to flash it. Also, thats an old version, the new KJ3 released today
step 1. dont post questions in dev forum
step 2. ???
step 3. profit
I'll get straight to the point....
Despite stickys and forum announcements most of us are still finding ourselves becoming terribly, terribly vexed at the amount of [Q]'s cluttering the dev section...
Therefore, from now on, if you do not follow the rules outlined below, you will be infracted. Break them again and you may find yourself unable to post anything at all on any forum!!
[Q]Surely thats a bit harsh aint it??
[A]Not really....
We've tried to be nice about it but that clearly doesnt work.
If you cannot read and abide by the simple rules in this sticky then I dont know how you're going to manage to hack your device without running into trouble.
The Dev section is NOT for asking questions.....
The Dev section is NOT for general topics..........
All threads posted MUST be prefixed with a description of the thread, [ROM] / [Kernel] etc etc.....*
*(Not planning on being particuarly strict on this. You guys (the devs), know how to title a thread.... just a pointer for new devs.)
Basically, unless your thread is to actually release something or discuss something of a very technical and n00b unfriendly nature, it doesnt belong here!
Pretty simple really.....
If you see something that shouldnt be here then PM me....
I will try to check in as reguarly as I can but I have a few sections to keep an eye on and believe it or not, a life outside XDA
Yes thats right, there is life outside XDA

This is a direct quote from the sticky at the top of this forum. Read around before you post. This would have been received much better in the Q&A Forum. Because its a question. And nowhere close to a development.
Thread locked. xCRZYx, post your question in the Question and Answer forum. This is development only.

Question regarding ROOTING the bionic?

Hi all, please bare with me, I am a EPIC user and I am trying to help a friend out at work. He has the Bionic and he is looking to get rid of the bloatware. He is not interested in a CUSTOM ROM or anything. So, my question, can you root the bionic and just delete the bloatware? Is there another way to delete the bloatware? If someone can point me in the right direction(links), THANKS!
This shouldn't be in the Android Development section, this belongs in General.
If you check the STICKIED thread at the top of this page
then you'll find that there's a debloated stock ROM in there. That should give you what you seek.

Hello and welcome to XDA forums, next time please use the search function and check the forum rules. There is plenty of topics about this already, no need for duplicate threads. Thanks.
