All custom themes need root, actually, they don't need root, what they need it patched services.jar.
I'll explain (again), we have file services.jar which purpose is, among the others, to do signature check when you trying to install app.
We can patch that file without any problems but we need root.
You can patch that file by yourself (it's very easy), download superuser mod for your firmware (don't ever use from another firmware) or, simplest and my favorite - just install Xposed Xperia by serajr and that module will patch it.
Now, why market themes don't need that?
Sony decided to protect theme engine and they demand to examine and sign every theme that will be released on market.
- You would be surprised what simple theme could do to your data and system if it contains suspicious parts -
Theme is allowed to change many system and systemUI parts and that's the reason Sony did that.
We can't get those key (at least no one bothers with it) to sign our themes so we need root

But do I see it correct that I need a rooted phone to extract the Pro apk from my phone? (Unfortunately my employer does not allow me to root my phone.)
And will I have to patch it again for every update?

Well if you dont have root you can always use the free version.
Basically its the same app with just limited image editor for uploading attachments iirc.

I'm surprised you guys don't know this, just use any app backup tool to extract the apk from the phone. Works for either paid/free apps. Super backup is a small app that does that. I have ES file Explorer that does it too. Just go to backup Apps,
Just click on your apps name, the apk will be saved In sdcard/backups/apps

As you may notice that the theme for Heat and Silk are mixed up even though it was originally pulled from the Z2 firmware. Thus, I will release a V2 soon to fix it.
As for the task killer, it's totally transparent because of my modded systemUI as I set it to 100% transparency. So my best guess originally it would be either fully black or 40% transparency.
Lastly, Xperia Z stock blue theme(Air) and black theme(Xperia Light) and are not replaced so they may look like there are copies and some dissapeared because stock Z2 has only 6 themes.
The following zip file contains:

GreenTheme.apk (Earth)
PinkTheme.apk (Heat)

Yeah, it dissapeared because it replaces the original themes, and you're left with Xperia Z stock blue theme(Air), black theme(Xperia Light) and orange theme (Sunny). That's why you think they are duplicates but they are not.
Edit: My bad, there's still orange theme which I overlocked XD sorry! So only stock blue theme(Air) and black theme(Xperia Light) are not replaced.

How come you cant install it? Try pushing the files to system/app and set the right permissions

Hey man, thanks bro. Anyway, tried the new 4.4 home launcher? I reduced the api level so that our 4.3 devices can use it but it just doesn't play nicely, there's this ghost status and nav bar. I tried to set the status and navigation bar offset to zero in dimens.xml. Same thing =/. So, just wondering, ya have any idea how to fix it? XD

Originally, those themes are for Z1 but I would like to continue to develop/mod/theme for XZ as well....

You have two variations of Metal blue theme.
One is with icons (theme will change over 30 applications icons)
The other is only theme (2MB) it'll change everything except icons...

Just installed the full apk with icons, choosed the metal theme in setting menu, rebooted my phone but no icons where changed the rest works well, plz some help, hoyw to make the icons change??? Xperia zr stock

If theme completely works then icons should to...
Check size of downloaded package, it must be over 30MB, if yours is 2MB only then you downloaded only theme.

That's why it's released in Z1 and Z threads only.
Some parts could work, that's something you have to try and see...
For now, supported devices are Z1 and Z...
If I found enough free time I'll port my themes to XS, XSP and maybe to some other devices...

because of the fact that I love the Theme Chooser Engine of CyanogenMod based Roms, and I didn't want to resign apply Theme Chooser Themes when I use a Rom which has not this Engine, I've ported my favourite Theme "Gem Flat" from xIC-MACIx (all credits go to him) to the XTheme Engine. So now everybody can apply this (awesome) Theme to every rooted ROM, but XPosed installer must be installed.
XThemeEngine allows you to theme your device similar to how T-Mobile/CM10 Theme Engine. Install theme apk, activate theme from XThemeEngine app.

1. Install Xposed Installer
2. Install Xposed Framework (from the Xposed Installer app)
3. Install XThemeEngine from the link in the next step
4. Activate the module in Xposed Installer app

Except dialer everything is so perfect.. Numbers and letters are not clearly visible due to dark background.. May be instead of black use light color to render numbers and letters..

Thanks a lot, I really love the Gem Flat Theme and because PA hasn't incorporated Theme-Engine (yet) I use XTheme Engine and the version of Gem Falt, someone else portet last year, but this is more uptodate. Did you notice the update of the original Theme to 1.5? Will the port also be updated?

Hello! I was wondering how you could port CM 11 themes for the new engine to Xtheme so that I don't have to pester you everytime I have a request :silly:

INTRODUCE :
Since we got the Marshmallow update to our devices , many of us feel discomfort from getting black status bar in default themes , for me it was a headache without any exaggeration it is like we back to time for 2 or 3 years ! well I decided to fix it so here we go !
NOTE :
Light theme is not here because I was getting some errors while editing it I will try to fix it later in future updates .
Live wallpaper not changing correctly ? - Just change it manually [emoji14] .
The Unrooted version WILL NOT replace your pre-installed themes but u will install them like a new downloaded themes .
HOW TO INSTALL :
- If you are not rooted : Download the unrooted one and install them normally .
- If you are : Download the rooted version and flash in recovery /or normally push them to system folder .

These themes are xperia x themes and Lock screen texts are colorfull and very light. I want you change lockscreen texts to white and remove light effect on it.

BACK TO WORK!! SORRY FOR THE LONG TIME, I ADDED NEW BLUE COLOR TO STOCK XPERIA THEME ( IDEA BY @LitoNi THANK HIM ) AND MANAGED TO ADD COLOR CHANGING SUPPORT TO THE FOLLOWING :
- EMAIL
- CLOCK
- CONTACTS
THIS MEAN ALL STOCK XPERIA THEMES WILL CHANGE THESE APP COLORS JUST LIKE XPERIA X THEMES.
AGAIN GUYS I STILL SUPORT UNROOTED USERS IN THESE THEMES!!
I AM HAVING A ****TY INTRENET THESE DAYS SORRY BUT I WILL TRY TO UPDATE TOMORROW
