Now we have root, is there a way to run apps that detect for root such as HBO GO and others? Is it a simple matter if denying such an app root privileges, or does it require un-rooting?
Thanks in advance.
Download rootcloak and the xposed framework.

Hey guys,
I've been messing around with my phone trying out nadlabak's CM6 for milestone. After removing it (because of lack of apps2ext) i flashed my nandroid recovery back (GOT android 2.1 with root) but somehow I seem to have lost my root access.
The superuser.apk is still present, and opens listing apps granted access, but all my other apps that require root (setcpu, titanium backup, autostarts etc) does not have root access.
I currently use Androliani's recovery but running the root script causes my phone to hang.
Any idea why / solutions?
You need to root again your milestone by using z4root. After that all your required root apps can be used. I'm sure you know how to install this app, right?
Just place the app at the root of your sdcard,ON the phone and use app installer,or open astro file, etc to install the app.

I am a newbie, I need advice, I root my s5mini (verified roothecker), but I do not know how to change the root rights for whatsapp, I have to reinstall it (he was on the phone before root installed)?
Go to supersu app and uncheck root permission
Hello, i know this is a stupid question but what is "Root privilege"
I was installing game killer to cheat a game on my Moto x play and it said "Root privilege is needed" and I already rooted my phone, can anyone tell me what should i do? I can't mod the game now :/
Root with latest SU either system or systemless does not matter and try again
Try opening your Superuser or SuperSU app and making sure root access for said app is set to "Grant".
As we're loosing the root/safetynet battle with Google I have been wondering about how to live without root. If I place an app in the priv-app folder I suddenly give the app permission to the system, how is this different from just giving it root privileges? If they are the same, what would I lose if I move all of my root required apps to priv-app folder and then un-root?
just tried moving Sixaxis Controller as system app, then unroot, it failed to load driver
So, yeah. it's totally different ball game

Yeah, IDK why though. Some apps like adaway and FlyGPS are perfectly fine with it and even tell you to put them there for root privileges, but titanium backup and root explorer won't work without su.
Would love to get rid of root on my phone as Ive managed to get away from xposed.
EDIT:Spoke with Colin from Speed Software (Root Explorer) and he linked me to this permission breakdown: https://developer.android.com/reference/android/Manifest.permission.html
Hi, I am very confused how to use Magisk to manage root permissions. I just want to know which apps that have root permissions and grant/revoke root permissions for apps.
My device is not a mobile phone. It's an arm development board. It's already rooted by default.
After installing Magisk and open it, it shows `Ramdisk No`.
`Superuser` tab is grey-out (inactive).
I have no ideas what to do and how to use it.
I did search the Internet, I don't find anything useufl.
Thanks a lot.
PS:
There is no superuser request prompt anywhere in this ARM development board.
I have no ideas how to grant root permission to any apps. I have no ideas if any apps can have root permission or not.
I can use adb shell. The username is `root` from `whoami`. I can access any directories.
