MMS Not Working After Root - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S 5

Rooted yesterday. Today I received an MMS that instead of automatically downloading, I had to download manually. I tried to send a pic and it failed. I had the person send me another pic and this time it won't download manually. SMS and internet are working fine.
Any ideas?

Same is happening with me. SMS not going through also and phone is very laggy. installed xposed after root....

I found the problem. It was Ad Block Plus. I turned it off and now MMS is working. I guess I'll have to dig into the settings and figure out how to keep it from interfering with MMS.

Good 'ole Adaway. Not being able to find it on the playstore is why I used Ad Block Plus. I did a little searching, found the Adaway apk, installed it and now my MMS is working fine.

This is a common problem when using adblock plus and root. Stay away from it.

[Q] CiCi ROM v3.0 - Issue with APN settings

Running the latest CiCi ROM v3.0 (GB 2.3.7).
Working great other than just two issues I need a little help with. I already searched with no results.
First, I added a new APN for Koodo Canada. All the settings are correct and I saved it. However I cannot "select" it for use. There was already an APN setting in there for Telus, which was already selected, but it would not allow attachments sent via text. (MMS) I've used these APN settings for koodo previously with Marvel v11 ROM (ICS 4.0.4) and it worked no problem. Am I missing something here? (Reason I'm not using the Marvel ROM anymore is because it bogged my phone down until it was too slow even for basic use. That and the keyboard was horrible. Otherwise, was a great ROM. )
Second issue is with connecting to the wifi at work. I put in my info which is correct, but it keeps connecting, then immediately disconnects and does this over and over. I suspect it's to do with the CA cert. Anyone have this issue or know how to fix it? [SOLVED] - Had to install a different CA cert.
Thanks in advance.
Mike.
Leave apn type blank and you'll be able to select it.

Thanks, I can now select it but it still won't allow me to send attachments... Wondering if I need the Telus APN, which I of course stupidly deleted.
Another issue came up. After making a call on bluetooth in my car, making a call after that, there is no sound at all. I can't hear them or the ringing and they can't hear me. Strange. Next time I will try turning bluetooth off when I'm not in the car and try again.
Make another apn and put mms as apn type. I don't use Bluetooth, can't help you there.

With APN type as MMS it makes it so I can't "select" it. That's why you suggested I keep that blank... lol.
Sorry, I'm confused....
So you're suggesting I have two APN's. One with APN type blank and the other as "MMS" and have the blank one selected?
Any suggestions as to the CA cert issue?
Thanks!
You have one that you leave the apn as "not set" which you select for your data. You create another one with apn type as "mms" to allow pics and stuff to come throuth. Its not selectable because it's just 'on'. All of the cyanogen Roms do not connect as quick as stock based roms. Try turning WiFi off an on.
Sent from my LG-P970 using xda app-developers app
Ok, thanks. I'll try it.
My wifi is always off unless I'm using it. I don't have a data plan.

Gave this a try. Still no luck. It just says "sending", but never sends it.
Doesn't seem to matter what I try. Telus or koodo APN settings (and/or two of each with APN type blank or "mms"). Nothing seems to work.

Settings are as follows:
Telus:
Name: TELUS SP
APN: sp.telus.com
Proxy: 74.49.0.18
Port: 80
Username: <not set>
Password: <not set>
Server: <not set>
MMSC: http://aliasredirect.net/proxy/mmsc
MMS proxy: 74.49.0.18
MMS port: 80
MCC: 302
MNC: 220
Authentication type: <not set>
APN type: <not set>
APN protocol: IPv4
And the second Telus APN is all the same except APN type: mms
I also tried two Koodo APN's with all the same settings except MMSC: http://aliasredirect.net/proxy/koodo/mmsc and again, one with APN type as <not set> and the other as mms.
Not sure why it's not working...
CA cert issue solved. At work they changed which CA cert they were using so all I had to do was install the proper cert.
Make sure mms is all small letters. And also make sure you enable the data. Beyond that, happy googling

mms is in small letters, yes.
I can't enable data because I don't have a data plan. With other ROM's I've always been able to have data disabled and yet still send attachments through text (with few exceptions).

It didn't work. It input new APN settings but also enabled data which I cannot allow because I don't have a data plan.
Previously, I have always been able to have mobile data disabled (use wifi only for internet etc.) and could still send attachments by text. For some reason it's not switching to the mms mode...
Ok, so if you don't want to use data name the one apn type you left not set as "internet". Seriously dude... Google. And turn on your data!

I remember you helped me get this working last time when I switched to the Marvel v11 ROM. With that ROM I had data disabled and with the correct APN settings, it worked no problem.
I tried enabling data and even though it showed the mms connection symbol next to signal strength, it still cannot send/receive attachments.
I have searched on google. I'm new to this stuff and don't fully understand. I've also tried a lot of suggestions (via google and from this forum) and it's still not working. That's why I posted this thread to ask for help. Sorry if I've ticked you off.
Double check your stuff. One with apn type mms and one with apn type internet. Neither should be selectable. Turn on data and give it a wurl. Make sure you use the koodo mmsc address. I'll try backing up this Rom and flashing cici to verify. Just make sure you have everything as it should be. And no worries man. Cheers

Tried those exact settings earlier (two APN's) and it would not work, even with data enabled. I tried it again just now and of course it works!
Thanks again for your assistance and sorry for my nOOb questions. Now that this is working, I have finally found a bug-free, super-fast and smooth ROM that doesn't bog my phone down. :good:
Awesome!!! :victory:

- Tried various APN settings (using old "cingular" values and new ATT "phone" profile)
- Tried GSM-only mobile settings
- Toggled back to LTE AP settings
- Restored default APN/AP settings

Some more detail:
When someone sends an MMS to me, I receive a non-downloaded message. When I tap "download" nothing happens initially, but a minute or two later, I receive a notification from the Messages app with one of these errors:
- Generic Network Failure
- Transient Network failure
This occurs on LTE, GSM 3G andwhen I'm on WiFi. Thanks!

After trying everything short of getting a new SIM, I called AT&T and had them reassociate my device with the ATT network. My mms issue continued for another 12-18 hours, and then suddenly I was able to send/receive mms.
No clue what happened, but it seems like it was an ATT issue since I'm still using the same sim and Renovate ROM with bulletproof kernel.

I wish I knew what fixed it, I have had the same symptoms for over a month on all three of my lines (HTC One) since switching from Sprint.

MMS not working with Rogers Amber ROM on AT&T 920

I flashed my 920 with the Amber ROM from Rogers this weekend and all has been well until this morning. I noticed no MMS messages were making it to my phone. I will get the message as a text message and click "Get media content now", but the message will never appear. I tried switching profiles in access point (from LTE 1 to LTE 2 and so on) with no resolution.
I was wondering if an update may have caused this behavior. Could call + SMS filter have anything to do with this? Any other thoughts? Is anyone else having this issue?
Make sure your MMS APN settings are correct. The automatic app may be getting them wrong.

Tried that as well, in Settings > Applications > Messaging > Edit MMS APN, I have:
APN: pta
User name:
Password:
WAP gateway (URL): proxy.mobile.att.net
WAP gateway port: 80
MMSC (URL): h t t p : // mmsc.mobile.att.net/
MMSC Port: 80
Maximum MMS size:
IP Type: IPv4v6
All of these suggestions work. I at first had mine set to LTE 2, then I changed from LTE 1 and then I could get MMS. After that, I switched back to LTE 2.
Also, if you're going to use a manual MMS apn, use "phone" instead of "pta"

Did you try access point app from the marketplace,
I had the same problems you have but after I installed the app and configured my MMS setting using it, every thing is working fine
install it using Lumia updater here

Yes, I have been using the access point app since I installed the ROM.
For some reason they started working again. I had my phone off for a good 4-5 hours today, so maybe that helped with something?
