[Q] error 110 :'( - Galaxy S III I9305 (4G LTE + 2GB RAM) Q&A, Help &

Hi,
Can somebody please help me? I have a i9305 and Omni rom. Every time that i try to root mt phone i get error 110 when i try to install an app, both from the play store and from any other place (random websites, Xposed, and from apks from my phone). I called google and they didn't have an answer. I tried to change ROMs, and everyone that is rooted gives me this error (Omni only gives it after I root it manually). When i installed pre-rooted ROMs some apps do install (because of the sync) but after a few the error begins.
Please help...

flash back your official stock firmware and restore everything back to begin and start fresh with custom rom, best thing to do!

Nope, doesn't work...
I tried everything that i could think of, formatting (from stock), other ways to install, different ROMs... the only thing that works is starting fresh without root access.

[Q] Installation of Youtube unsuccessful

Hello All,
I used to be on RoDrIgUeZsTyLe MUIU rom and bunch of other custom roms. Every rom has its ones pros and cons but were not very stable. So, I thought I will go back to stock. So, I flash stock rom and stock recovery and received OTA update and installed the updates. Now my phone is on the below version.
Android Version 2.2.1
Build Number - FRG83D
Market Version - 2.12
Baseband Version - 32.26.00.28U_4.06.00.12_7
I was able to successfully download and install many apps but whenever I try to download YouTube I always get "Installation of Youtube unsuccessfull" message. Also, I researched and saw that some people in Europe on Vodafone rom are having this issue. How do I know if my android version is totally stock?
Do you guys have any ideas on how I can successfully install this app without having to root my phone again? I would like to stay stock and unrooted if possible.
Thanks.
use titanium or manually uninstall the current youtube app, reboot then try to install again. Its because its a system app currently. youll probably have to do the same for car home, street view and a few others
I am un rooted, so I won't be able to use titanium. how do I uninstall manually though? I didn't have any issues installing other apps like street view etc.
Make sure the app is installed on your phone, and unmount the SD before updating...

I tried un mounting SD card and installing and still that didn't work. Thanks for trying to help though.
Try uninstalling the old version of YouTube first.

....if you do not have root access how were you flashing an miui rom?
I was getting the exact same thing as you were, all you need to do is remove the old youtube app
good luck
Thanks for the responses. Like I said in my post I was rooted before but un rooted and went to complete stock 2.2.1. I know uninstalling youtube would resolve this issue but I am trying to find a way to uninstall the app without being rooted.

[Q] Superuser not in apps after root

Hi, Have tried in last few weeks to update Ace from Gingerbread to Kitkat. Successful but then had overheating and random shutdowns after installing S2E although I have no way of knowing if that was the cause! Then tried to update from within the Ace to RC11. Total failure. Lost menu and back button and keyboard. Tried to go back by reinstalling CM11 but that left me with a setup screen and the message "unfortunately the setup wizard has stopped". Only answer was to use Odin and reinstall official stock kernel. My thanks to brijeshep for that.
So decided to try again but stupidly installed cwm before Upd_1.zip, which would not install from cwm. Used root_cooper.zip (thanks again) and got a success message and phone now rooted. However, "superuser" is not in apps, which it was first time around. How can I check that it is rooted before installing KitKat again?
Any advice on this gratefully received.
Try Root Checker
Tried that! Not enough memory!! Which is why I was trying to root and then install CM11 and S2E. Managed to reinstall stock rom thanks to Odin and then rooted no problem with upd1. Have now installed CM11 running 4.4.4 and will wait a few days before installing any apps apart from gmail and will try S2E if it will work with the 4.4.4. rom.
But thanks anyway for taking the trouble to reply.
ReBoot 1or2
times and see

Hi There,
you can download the app called Root Checker.apk to check your root status whether you are rooted or not. And then you can manually installed SuperSu or Super User

Unlocked/Rooted Problems

Hi all!
Iv got a Galaxy S III I9305 here, and it has just been unlocked from EE, so it can be used with a Three sim instead.
But this seems to have caused some problems...
I have no idea how this person has unlocked it, but now when I try to open a Banking App, its telling me it cant be used as the device is rooted...
why would the person that unlocked it have rooted it too? just seems weird!
My question is, if I was to follow This guide to unroot it, would I also loose the unlock to use any sim, as I will probably have to flash a stock EE rom back on to it.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
cheers
Keith
You just need to flash a Stock Sammsung rom.Wich firmware have you now? When for example you.'re on 4.1.1 you need to find and flash true Odin Stock 4.1.2 firmware. This will remove the root.

Im not actually sure what version has been put on it to be honest, because it just looks like a stock rom to me, which is weird haha
It says its version 4.3.
So if I use Odin to flash this file... http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/download/38008/I9305XXUENH1_I9305EVRENH1_EVR.zip/
It should let me use banking apps, and also stay unlocked for any sim?
Cheers for your help!
Another option, would be to keep it rooted, install Xposed framework (which is great by the way) and then install Rootcloak.
Rootcloak lets you fool apps into thinking that the phone is not rooted.
I use it for some tv-streaming apps, which works quite well.

Tried giving this a go, but I cant get Xposed framework to install...
I just get a 'There was a problem while parsing the package" error :s
Its running Android 4.3 so it should be compatible.

If you plan on going back to stock and you root it successfully, all root apps should work just fine.
Sony themes will also work if you're on stock or a stock based ROM
Ok, thanks for your answer

Custom Rom 5.1.1

I'm looking for a custom ROM, I used rootjunkys method for root, remove ads, google play, replace launcher etc. All worked well. Thanks for much for the awesome script!
However since doing that, facebook and chrome etc become really laggy and unresponsive.
Did a google search and other people have same experience.
Been reading about and you can't get recovery on 5.1.1 (because of locked bootloader is it?)
So... If I get a custom ROM, can I flash it via this flashfire app, will it work? I don't want to brick my new tab.
Cheers guys!
If in 5.1.1, flashfire is the only choice to flash ROMs.
Answers to all your questions/procedures can be found at: http://forum.xda-developers.com/amazon-fire/help/help-thread-question-noob-friendly-t3205441. I strongly recommend you read it all if you can.
Just be aware of 5.1.x, there has been some complains about bricking devices.

Cheers! Managed to install CM, but Gapps won't install even though it says successful. Tried multiple times now :/
Make sure you follow the procedure, how to use Flashfire should be located under "Device Tools, Root/Un-root/Un-brick methods" on previous link.

make sure system is set to read/write in flashfire and that you're flashing the pico version of gapps
Fixing GApps
Re-flash Gapps from your Cyanogenmod install (Don't wipe or anything, simply flash the gapps you want again with auto-mount disabled, but the second option to mount enabled. I had the same issue and it's fixed, the only issue I have now is I'm unable to install Google Play Games)

Yeah mounting as read and write worked a treat thanks!
I had the exact same problem, error 505 when trying to install play games. And some games wouldn't work without it installed.
What I did was downloaded an apk extractor on my phone, got the apk for games, sent it to my fire and installed it manually.
Hope that helps
