yes the bootloader is unloack but i had my phone rooted before then had to use pc companion to repair it, ive unlocked it again to be sure.
It seems driver problem.
I met the same problem as well as others yesterday, when I unlock, relock, re-unlock, root locked, root unlocked, flash recovery... for some crazy reason.
Try these:
Connect to flashtool (beta2 or beta4) with device power-on debug off, to see if flashtool can recognize it, and how much it can recognize.
Connect to flashtool with device power-on debug on , to see if flashtool can recognize it.
Connect to flashtool with device in fastboot mode, to see if flashtool can recognize it.
Connect to flashtool with device in flashmode, to see if flashtool can recognize it.
Flashtool may fix some driver error. I just succeeded after hours of bungling like that.
Good luck.

Has anyone found a sure fix for the issue presented by the original post? I am having this issue and I have tried different drivers, ftf's, computers, adb/fastboot/versions and flashtool versions. I have unlocked and relocked. Is rooting status "unknown" normal after bootloader unlock? -Z Ultra 6833 EU
Still no solution?
With my C6603 it does not allow to write boot aswell. Any final solutions?

This is the wrong forum to ask this. This is the Xperia Z section.
Despite that, you need to unlock your bootloader to flash kernels via fastboot.

After months using stock everything I decided to flash CM11 yesterday, I'm doing exactly same step as I was doing when on 4.1/4.2 but it seems like it doesn't works, I'm not even sure that my BL is unlocked despite success message, when trying to reboot after unlock BL I had a bootloop and when trying to recover with Sony's Flashtool it says 'device not unlocked'. So I repaired with PCC and restarted from scratch but same results today.
I'm totally lost as like I said I was doing exactly same thing on the same PC.
Edit : Now my XZ doesn't even start! I have the red led blinking while connected with usb, power+ Vol+ doesn't do anything, no vibrations at all!
I was on latest sony official ROM
Edit2 : Tryied again to recover with Sony's Flashtool but it says "Mobile Locked" that's crazy!

fastboot remote command not allowed Xperia Z3
I unlocked my boatloader, but have no way to confirm that it is still unlocked. I'm running Windows 7. Fastboot used to work just fine before I unlocked my bootloader. FLASHTOOL works fine. But if I try to flash anything with fastboot I get the remote command error. Can't flash recovery. Can't flash boot image.

Look in the service menu to confirm if your bootloader is unlocked.
Enter *#*#7378423#*#* in the dialler, then look in Service info -> Configuration. It will say "Bootloader unlocked: Yes" if it's unlocked.

By installing FLASHTOOL by Sony I was instantly notified that my bootloader was not unlocked, even though I had already unlocked it three or four times without any errors. So I unlocked it again. Then fastboot flashed my images just fine.
I would try to be as descriptive as possible.
Check if BLU allowed:
Dial *#*#7378423#*#*
Service info > Configuration > Rooting Status. It says Bootoader unlock allowed: yes
Go to SONY official webpage to get the unlock key. http://unlockbootloader.sonymobile.com/instructions
Enter the IMEI code and get the KEY in mail.
Put the phone in fastboot mode.
Code:
D:\>fastboot -i 0x0fce getvar version
version: 0.5
finished. total time: 0.002s
D:\>fastboot -i 0x0fce oem unlock 0xMYKEYINRIGHTCASE
...
FAILED (remote: Command did not succeed)
finished. total time: 0.036s
Curiously if I run the second command again, it succeeds.
Code:
D:\>fastboot -i 0x0fce oem unlock 0xMYKEYINRIGHTCASE
...
OKAY [ 0.171s]
finished. total time: 0.172s
Now if my bootloader is not supposed to be unlocked or the key is wrong then I believe the behavior should be consistent and should always FAIL. Unfortunately that is not the case. What is worse is that when now I do
Code:
D:> fastboot reboot
rebooting...
finished. total time: 0.002s
It does not reboot anymore and goes into boot loop. The only way out is to flash the stock ROM using flashtool and get it back.
What I really want to do:
Build and flash AOSP 4.3 onto the device. I have already build it and also downloaded pre-build img from one of the threads. Using fastboot flash works for boot, system and userdata on second attempt just like bootloader. However fastboot flash cache fails consistently. Rebooting again put me back into boot loop.
Is there any way to find out if the bootloader is actually unlocked or not?
I would appreciate any help in debugging/troubleshooting this problem. Looking forward.
P.S.: Not sure if this belongs here or in development forum.
bump up.
Any help would be appreciated from devs.
Go to configuration again and check rooting status. If you are truly unlocked, it will say:-

Thanks for responding. But unfortunately for me as soon as I run the oem unlock command twice, it does not boot anymore and I have to reflash it again. Post reflash when I go back I still see the previous status.
Adding some background:
This issue occurred only after I reflashed the stock ROM using SONY companion. This might have locked the bootloader again and corrupted the process of unlocking it. Is this a possibility? Any body who had similar problem?
Could you reflash to stock and check the bootloader unlock status? If you can reflash via PC Companion, it usually means that your bootloader was not unlocked. If yours was unlocked, it would fail and you would have to use Emma instead.

No. If you can repair your phone via PC Companion, your bootloader is locked. Only if you are unable to do that with an error code along the lines of "This phone's software has been modified" then your bootloader is unlocked. Flashtool works regardless of bootloader unlock status.

I can repair which essentially means that the bootloader is locked. However I still see the configuration saying bootloader unlock allowed to be yes. Strange that i am not able to unlock it.
Hello,
I tried to unlock my bootloader several times.I followed every guide and didn't make it.I have LBL xperia sp (Allowed bootloader unlocking :No)But i read i can try it anyway. So the problem here is when i start cmd in abd folder and enter command fastboot -i 0x0fce oem unlock 0xmykey it says waiting for device.I installed drivers from the guide.Because i have windows 10 i disabled driver signature and all driver are installed.I tried all ports on my laptop and volume up,down. It just wont enter fastboot skips to sony logo immediately.Recovery is working fine.
Now i don't know is it because i have (Allowed bootloader unlocking :No) or i am doing something wrong, also i tried with 4.3,4.4 and 5.0 android versions.
I searched for this problem on xda forums but couldn't find any help.
Thanks.

Can you check if your bootloader can really be unlocked? Back on stock ROM, open Dialer, then type in *#*#SERVICE#*#* and report your "bootloader unlock allowed" status.
"Allowed bootloader unlocking : No" But i read somewhere i can still try to unlock it.

Please don't try any methods, for your device's safety.
So recently I tried rooting my xperia xp and it has failed horribly. I managed to unlock my bootloader and install twrp recovery but after doing so my phone could not reboot into system without running into a bootloop. I've tried to perform a software repair on my phone with the xperia companion, but as you know my bootloader is unlocked at the moment so that couldn't help me.
The issue with relocking here is that when I enter "./fastboot oem lock" on my terminal it replies as:
"FAILED (remote: unknown command)"
I really do not want to have to purchase a new phone just because of the bootloader, it'd be so so appreciated if somebody could help me out here
Also
I'd also like point out that I've also tried the other two commands I could find:
"./fastboot oem relock" and "./fastboot flashing lock"
There are two ways to relock bootloader:
1. Restore TA partition
2.Use Flashtool to relock
But if you encounter a bootloop after unlocking bootloader, try flash Magisk first.
Sony Xperia XZ Premium (single sim, G8141) owner here.
Is there really no way to relock the bootloader?
I don't have a TA backup. I have flashed a completely stock ROM with flashtool (Emma), I just want to relock a bootloader for a warranty claim (purely hardware, faulty USB connector, took me 20 minutes to get the computer to recognize it, at this point it won't even charge most of the time).
I have tried fastboot oem relock command even with the USB vendor ID that I also had to specify when unlocking it in the first place. New flashtool (Emma) does not seem to have any option to relock (or even unlock) BL, nor does it display any information about it. Old flashtool says TA read fail and that my bootloader cannot be relocked.
The boot screen tells me to please lock my bootloader so I'm assuming there must be a way, I just haven't found it yet.
Hi guys,
Accidentally, im locked the bootloader of my moto z3 play and i cant boot because a previous bad installation that results in a bootloop.
I cant unlock from fastboot because the acctual system is new but unbootable (usb debugging and oem unlock disable by default...
I saw that there is some toolkits for many brands and models to fix this...
Will there be any for moto z3 play? or any other way to fix this brick?
I can access fastboot and stock recovery... Can i flash anything from adb sideload?

You should be able to reflash the firmware
Use
Code:
fastboot getvar all
To get the codename and software channel

I forgot to say that i ran by mistake flashing lock command, in way that oem is lock AND flashing too.
I have tried many times flash stock 9.0 firmware, but most part of lines out are permission denied (cause of flashing locked, i guess...)
After try flash, i get only bootloop and stock recovery.
I even already try apply update from adb sideloa to twrp or cwm but doesnt work (((
Plus, i try TOO boot on edl mode to use blank flash but doenst work, going to fastboot reason qcom boot failed ! ((((((((
I suppose can reflash the firmware with flashing locked? I have tried one of these beckham 9.0... I confess that not tried all of them.
Ty, man, for help!

Unlocking your Bootloader, you know where you enter that long code from the email that Motorola sent you.
I say this because sometimes people think, unlocking in the Dev-options, is actually unlocking the BL, when it's not.
Nor is a carrier unlock the same thing.
Your bootloader sounds locked from your Description of "access denied" errors.
I just want you to clearify that you are actually unlocked.

Although you're on Z3, this problem is generic. Ask in the Z2 forum, as they are more active. I also think the G-series (or other popular Moto phones) forums could help you with this.
Can you get to the recovery menu, and wipe factory reset (BL->recovery, up+pwr, Wipe/Factory restore)?
?

Ty for the advice... I will do that.
Yea, i can wipe data/factory reset, but its the same. Bootloop until stuck to "fastboot reason: fall-through from normal boot mode."
I've read about this scenario for months on several different model forums and I imagine my best chance is to use the blankflash in edl mode but i can't boot into edl mode. Wherever I connect it is always recognized as a Motorola PCS or Motorola ADB device. I'm thinking of buying the deep flash cable and see if it works ...
$ fastboot getvar current-slot
//Getting and setting the slot should not cause any harm, but you never know.
$ fastboot --set-active=<a/b - whichever "current-slot" isn't.>
$ fastboot reboot
EDIT0:
In addition, you should plan ahead if you do get in. Like doing everything it takes to allow you to unlock/flash (adb).
You don't want to miss anything critical and screw up that other slot too.

To everyone who is having this problem, just run the command multiple times in a row and it works! I don't know why, but just running it a few times in a row (I had to do like 9 times) gave me the unlock code.
Same thing for applying the code after getting it from Moto. Had to do it like 9 times in a row again, but it worked.
