Hello Friends!!
I have a big problem with my device.
It's a Sony Xperia T( LT30p). The problem is that it does not have support for the band 900 UMTS. And I have problems of coverage in many zones where this band is for that my operator operates in H+.
My device works on GSM850, GSM900, GSM1800, GSM1900, UMTS_BC1, UMTS_BC2, UMTS_BC4, UMTS_BC5, LTE_BC2, LTE_BC4, LTE_BC5 and LTE_BC17.
I need to have UMTS_BC8.
I do not understand how this device may have LTE support when is not a 4G device; and not works on UMTS_BC8 when Sony indicates that it works in the band 900 UMTS.
My firmware is the stock unbranded for Spain, 4.1.2.
My question is if I can solve this problem if i will flashing a correct euro baseband with flashtools. The problem is that I do not find any baseband in file .ftf for Xperia T; thing that if that there is in XDA is the whole compilation for the Xperia Arc S.
I would be very grateful to you if you will helping me to solve this problem.
Another point is that in the menu of selection of band only me there appears USA Band, when there should appear EURO Band.
A Greeting!!!
This is weird
In fact in my phone I have UMTS_BC8 and there are no LTE bands.
Your customization number 1268-8488 seems right (generic Spain), I can't believe your device is working with a wrong baseband which is the one for LT30a or LT30at.
So, just try to flash a complete new firmware with Flashtool.
Go here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2648320
Pick an unbranded one for LT30p from any country and... anyway there's also your 1268-8488 (Unbranded Spain) to choose if you like

I thought that, that flashing new firmware the baseband be changed, but no.
I can change firmware but not the baseband.
I was flashed all tips of versions of Android, 4.0, 4.1, 4.3 (all stock) unbranded Spanish, Italian, European, Vodafone, Yoigo.
Even install it a zip archive Baseband by Recovery of Hybrid based stock, without any effect, I have been unable to modify the baseband of the device.
I bought it on Amazon. I imagine it would unlock bad seller
I think it would be either a software solution to fix the phone after a bad unlock or flash a euro baseband on .ftf with flashtools.

I'm thinking that you might actually have an LT30a/LT30at, which does not have the BC8 band and does have LTE support, and either you or the seller flashed the wrong FTF. I don't know if this is actually possible, but if it is the case, you should check under the battery if there is a label that actually shows which model you really have. It's the only thing that makes sense to me, because you're describing an LT30a/LT30at.

mmmm
Its possible.
Maybe they gave me pig in a poke
Or in this case, LT30AT instead of LT30P .
I have no time to open the device and look under the battery, but the sticker off the side.
The model is 12w39, if detachment, put another sticker under PM-0140-BV.
So I conclude that it is very possible that they sold Sony Xperia T LT30at (Sony Mint Amy).
Perfect, I can not use the 900 band HSPA + (BC 8) and nor LTE because in Spain is on the 1800 and 2600 BC 3 and BC 7.
WHILE 2100 can continue to use the UMTS settle me.
Curious that LT30p firmware is going great, really does not give me no type of error.
I will not be forced to claim, as I feel cheated, the box, the firmware and everything was the LT30p.
What a scam.
Thank you very much!.

I thought the same thing, but it's so strange. I mean, why it beahaves that way also with LT30p baseband which doesn't include LTE support?

12w39 is about when the device was made. It says: Year 2012 Week 39 (=september/october 2012)
Pull the same label inside the sim/sd-card door and tell me what's the SI number (abcd-efgh)
Look also at the side behind, it should say LT30p.
I think you can use your warranty anyways.

Hi there guys,
I'm new here and was looking at getting an Sony Xperia TL LT30at from eBay. I have read several threads on installing the LT30p version to this phone. But, the one answer I can't find is will this LT30at to work on the T-Mobile network and also use the LTE band. So to be clear, I want the 3G/4G band (1700/2100) and the LTE band(IV). Can it be done on this phone?? TIA!

ah and i forgot to say this " exclude the baseband when flashing the UK version or lte wont work "
Thanks man. Now, I just have to get the phone! This will be my first modding of a phone.
Ok, got the phone from eBay. Phone is is awesome shape. Did the flash for the UK .140 and it worked perfectly. But, my issue is that when I check my base bands by dialing *#*#7378423#*#* .....I see that I don't have 1700 or 2100. Did I do something wrong? I was thinking should I flash the LT30a file since that has the base bands of 1700 & 2100? (The LT30a phone has the 1700/2100 bands as stated on the white papers)
Thanks
FYI, I did exclude base bands. But, I think it's keeping the AT&T bands and not adding the t-mobile bands of the 1700 and 2100. I do see the LTE IV band for T-mobile.
i don't have UTMS BC4 on my "Working Bands" list.

Your fine, its just the software showing that and ATT does not do that. Also dont flash the LT30a only flash the .140. Keep the baseband from the LT30AT dont flash any Lt30a files
So, will that band magically show up soon or will I have to do something to get it? Thanks

It wont show. It just works.
Try it
I flashed the phone with only the basebands and it worked. I get everything now. That's why I wasn't seeing UTMS - BC4 when I excluded basebands at first.

yes, if you flash with the new software and include the new baseband it will work.the only thing you will have to do is change the network settings via *#*#4636#*#* and look under....Phone information and the change network settings to LTE.

Just picked up my Xperia Z from Bell - here's a little information on the device, as after searching for a while there doesn't seem to be much out there about this:
Model Number: C6616
Android Version: 4.1.2
Baseband Version: 9x15A-ACEFWMAZQ-30110041-32
Kernel Version: 3.4.0-g6df7905-02328-g70ed36a
Build: 10.1.1.A.1.319
Customization Version: 1275-6311_R2A
Also, rather unfortunately, the bootloader cannot be unlocked (according to the Service info > Configuration page).
Can you tell us if the screen is better? I saw some videos on the Bell website and it did look better. I was gonna go check out the Bell store today but didn't have time lol

Not yet - this is the first Sony device I've owned (used to Samsung devices and the various Nexus'), so I'm a little gun-shy regarding flashing things meant for different models.
Tried rooting it today and, as expected, it failed.
Use DooMLorD to root, I think it should be fine.
Would you be able to backup your rom to FTF file?

The update made the screen look a lot better but that was with 253 version already and 4.2.2 made it even somewhat better again and camera too.

I flashed its baseband but it didn't work unfortunately.
This Rom only has band 4 LTE also even though Bell says it has AWS and 700.
It couldn't pick up t-mo LTE too.

For any other Bell users who are new to Xperia devices and unsure of flashing, I successfully flashed this 4.2.2 stock firmware using Flashtool (left FOTA, BASEBAND, and UNKNOWN unchecked). I had to add the Bell APN settings, but everything works!
Additionally, I rooted using this guide, but when I got to step 11, I reflashed the kernel from the first firmware image I linked instead.
So if I get this one, unlock it and flash standard firmware, can it be used with Rogers and its LTE?

Rogers and Bell both use the same LTE bands, so it should be good with the network unlock. Switching firmware is really only required for rooting/getting 4.2.2 at this time.

So bell's firmware is standard or it's a custom one with bell's apps per-intalled (aka you have to wait for them to release a new version 2-3 weeks after everyone else gets it)?
Bell's firmware has their apps, and is subject to their release schedule, but will work with other carriers - it's just the network lock that prevents you from using another carrier. However, if you're looking to root, or don't want the extra Bell branding in your face, switching firmware is a valid option.

Never used the 6606, or any of the other models. From the looks of things, though, it's a difference in basebands and supported frequencies.
laslow, I flashed baseband off the ftf file you posted, there is only band 4 LTE, not 700 (band 17) as stated on Bell website.

I'm not running it anymore so I can't verify, but that was the firmware bundle on the phone, fresh from the store.
how can you actually tell which device you have? as both FW works on both devices with no problem...
but cpu-z and service menu gives you either C5503 or C5502 depending on fw you flashed, and not on actual hardware.
or mybe it's possible al ZR are the same and support all 3g and lte freqs?
C5503 - LTE / C5502 - 3G. That's all you, can't have C5502 with LTE enabled cos there is no modem integrated in it.

Please read what I wrote up! It gives the model according to the fw that I flashed...
anyone else have any idea?
Some reported that LTE is possible in C5502 since both device comes with the same chipset and the LTE modem should be integrated within the chipset.
However no one tested and confirm this.

haha! you evil genius! who whould have thought of the analogue method?
guess i have C5502 guys
it means nothing since my carrier uses 850/2100 which are supported by both 5502 and 5503
hi guys, do you know how to change baseband? I mean for example I am on 5.1.1 stock FW customized CH, is it possible to flash say US baseband in it without losing any data? how?
this would help a lot people using my rom in other countries!
I tried with flashtool, flashing only all AMSS_xxx parts from a US fw to my current CH install, but the baseband shown in settings is always the same, so I think I am doing something wrong/the AMSS parts are not really the baseband?
can you help!?
TIA!!
I think better to change phone baseband is changed mode to USA: If you click on dial * # * # 4636 # * # * and select info mobile and you select in the new screen menu (top right) and you can change to US networks.
I've done this several days ago. I'm in Spain and I could not access European 3G and 2G network because new newtork is for usa (LTE same).
I was doing research for improving the signal and great failure. Then I had to flash with flashtool new rom ... hehe
Sorry for my bad English.
thanks mate! i don't need us band actually, I'm in Italy and the European band is fine for me but wanted to know how to do that for us users of my rom. great tip will suggest them to do so hopefully they'll improve the signal strength/switch speed thanks again!
Hope someone can help you out, I love your rom and I just got a d5833 from Hong Kong, I live in Australia and my carrier supports exactly 5833 lte bands (I'm Italian too Btw ☺), lte is actually working but reception isn't good, I'm sure with the right baseband would be better. Thanks for the hard work ?
did you try the method suggested by Joreb? ( *#*#4636#*#* and then chosing USA band)
he was saying basebands are all the same in all d5803 firmwares
Well I did and it wasn't a good idea since now 2g and 3g are not working and I can't switch back to the original baseband since in the menù there's no other option. Any clue?
Edit: flashed your new v3,everything's fine now
Hi , ok ill get right down to it. I got an Xperia Z not really sure if its a C6603 or a C6606, but according to the IMEI and an internet search it says it the C6606 model. Which is quite strange as I had bought it new online and the seller was advertising it as the C6603 model , it actually had the android 4.3 preinstalled when I got it, in the phone specs it did say C6603 but that didnt match what the IMEI was indicating . Now the issue im having is I wanted to upgrade to the lolipop 5.1.1 , so i tried the sony companion software but it said i already had the newest software which is not true as the newest software is 5.1.1 and im running 4.3. So next i downloaded the 5.1.1 through the flashtool for the C6603 model , the central European version and it works great but just one issue is im not getting any GPS fix nothing , it did work with the older android version , any suggestions ? by the way im still not sure if its a C6606 or a C6603 , IMEI states its a C6606 , but i cannot locate any lolipop 5.1.1 android firmware for it so up till now i tried the C6603 lolipop and get no GPS fix , any help kindly appreciated iv spent 2 days on this dont know what to do .

So just to recap theres 2 issues here :
1) GPS isnt able to get a FIX after the lolipop 5.1.1 update for C6603 wheras it did work on the older 4.3 android.
2) According to the IMEI it says my phone is a C6606 but I havent seen any android lolipop 5.1.1 firmwares for that model.

Alright finally I was able to get it to work. Turns out the metal aluminum bumper case I was using was interfering with the GPS , after taking off the bumper case the GPS runs.
However on thing I still cant get to work correctly is my LTE or 4G , i got a new SIM and it still dont work any suggestions ? I mean the LTE also didnt work with the older android version I ran before. Any ideas ?

You can find the model number at the bottom of the phone, it says made in China C660X and then the IMEI and the production date. If it's a C6606 it only supports LTE Bands 700, 850, 1700 and 2100. I guess your carrier uses a different one. In your case I would return it, as you bought a C6603 and got a C6606

Thanks for the reply , returning it isnt possible. On the back it says C6603 but when I input the IMEI online it says its actually a C6606 which is intended for the US market and im in Central Europe. Could this be affecting my ability to get LTE ? So far iv managed only to get H+ , my carrier told me that im in range of the LTE , LTE is enabled on my account and my SIM is also compatible. So I guess then how can I enter the settings or is there an app which will help me modify the LTE band to suit the one in Europe ?
