I found this thread for instructions on how to do this. I've been able to get the Car Mode to show in quick settings, but the links that are provided don't work. Just wondering if there's another way or has the Car Mode app available for download?
Anyone?
Car Mode?
Wondering the same thing. Just rooted and I would really love a better way to use my S5 with my car's Bluetooth!

Hi @ all,
I now own an Pioneer AppRadio 4 (SPH-DA120) and use it along with the "AppRadio Unchained Reloaded" app and my HTC One M7 running Lollipop.
My phone is connected to the head unit via HDMI/MHL and touch input is send to the phone via bluetooth with the help of the "AR Unchained" app.
That combination works, but I am interested in getting the Android Auto UI to show up on my head unit, because I like that clean Home style without its NotificationBar and so on.
Is there any possibility to switch my phone to Auto mode, so it gets rendered on my mobile device and that way send to the head unit via mhl?

Appradioforums.com might be of use. It was back in the days of when I had my appradio 2
I have the Appradio 3 with the same setup.. I think this would be a really simple MOD, and should be possible.

Hi All,
As the title says I am looking for a cable to launch HTC Car mode without me building it up. Does anyone know where I can get one? I can't seem to find anything on eBay (not sure what I should search for lol) and I have found this:
https://ibolt.co/car-docks/smartphone-mounts/htc-one/xprodock-htc#features
But I don't want to buy the whole car dock because I already have one.
Any suggestions?
NFC tag with car mode?
I am trying to get Samsung's car mode app to work via mirror link with my Pioneer appradio 3. When I go into the settings/more/mirrorlink, only the phone app shows up as working. Does anybody have any other working options or know how to get Samsung's working?
Also, my phone does connect to the radio.

Does the radio have bluetooth? I believe mirror link only works with tvs that are wifi enabled. The radio must have wifi connected and you can see the radio in mirror link but other than that it wont work
The radio says its mirror link enabled. If you check the website for mirror link its actually a system used to send info from a phone to a car. And the setting in the phone says to connect to your car through USB.
Short answer mirrorlink is broken the current version 1.1 does not work with the older version 1.0 on older head units like appradio 3, I have a htc one m9 with the same issue.
Thanks fort the reply. Hopefully they can get this figured out.
Just wondering if anybody has had any success with Mirror Link and getting it to work? I'm talking about actually mirroring your Note 8 screen on your car display rather than mirroring Samsung's Car Mode app which had to be one of the most useless apps ever created!
What I'm talking about is this: https://youtu.be/9fQyjmWfZtQ
Or this: https://youtu.be/Yksv9aLk58s
I seem to remember a few months back when I tested out a Note 8, it worked straight out of the box. Now when I plug my phone into my car (VW Tiguan), it prompts me to download Samsung Car Mode and the only Mirror Link so that it will open is that one. Which is pointless.
Looking at these videos, you have to install LG Drive. I did that and it refused to open saying it would only open on LG devices. So then I tried installing an older version from APK Mirror which did open but the screen mirroring didn't work.. it just showed up as an app alongside Samsung's Car App and then didn't do anything.
I'd really like to get this working. I have no intention of driving and using my phone screen in the car but there are circumstances and usage cases where this would be really helpful for me.
Anybody had any luck?
Thanks
install LG MirrorDrive 1.2.1.2

Is anyone having trouble connecting their phone to their car? I keep getting a message saying that I need to download the Smart Switch app. I have USB Debugging on and when I select the USB for MDI uption under the USB connection option it automatically switches back to the transfer files option. Any hints or pointer on how to get it to work? Thank you.
@EPgoat,
Go here to the Android Auto forum, and do a search. If you don't find someone with a similar problem, then post your question there. You will find a lot more help for this issue there. And FWIW, these types of issues with AA are not unusual.
