[Q] Editing Facebook.apk

Oh, hello you sexy people!
I've been playing around with ADB today. I've been editing some applications and need some guidance:
HOW DO I CHANGE THE FONT COLOR?
Is there some .xml I have to edit? Located somewhere in the .apk - And where am I most likely to find something about fonts?
I've finished two applications. Big thanks to Brut.all for his tip on apk-tool / apkmanager!

HaGGardSmurf created a GenieWidget.apk that works for HDPI devices aswell as MDPI.

[GUIDE] ADB, Fastboot, and Nandroid for Noobs
[HOW TO] Manuals for creating a theme
I read the ADB guide this morning. It's a good start.
When you've pulled the apps all you've gotta do is:
- Rename the .apk to .zip
- Edit the images in "res" found in the .zip folder
- Drawable is the folder names you're looking for
- Copy and replace the edited images
- Rename from .zip to .apk
- Push the .apk to your phone
Trust me. It's not hard. Give it a couple of hours and you'll be good.

What widgets were that clock and weather widgets? where'd you get those? And the background too lol! I just really like the theme you have right now. (and the launcher)

I use LauncherPro. You can find it at marked.
The clock widget is "Digital Clock Widget"
The weather widget is "Yr" weather widget. You can find it at marked.
Here is the background
To get the weather app transparent i used a flashable called "REVOlution Transparent Apps".
If you search using the search tool you should find it.

Yeah, most probably it's in XML, but XML files are compiled to binary form, so you have to decompile them before modding. Use apktool (my signature) or Apk Manager.

thanks zHk3R but that doesn't look like the background in the original post but it doesn't matter I already got a background that I like.

Digital Clock Widget by Maize uses the system font - In the screenshot in the 1st post I'm using "Comfortaa" font.

What?
If you're asking if the Facebook widget is transparent you obviously missed the First post. You should go read it.

Share your framework!

I just rooted my legend, and I found that the status bar icons all have a background (that is, they are made for the Sense status bar which has a gradient). Therefore when creating a black status bar, all the icons still have that "sense status bar" look
I am now using a gingerbread status bar, but I was thinking it would be nice to have a thread where everyone shares their framework so it's easier to get some good icons!

To share the framework files wouldn't the person need to be running the exact same ROM to make it look the same?

well at least you could extract the used image files and rename them if necessary
i had to search very long to get all the gingerbread-icons i needed for my LeeDroid ROM and havent found all of them yet still

Yes, the point was for other users to extract the icons and rename them if necessary to fit their own framework. If you have status bar icon packs, you're welcome to share them too

yes, it does. The status bar background is the statusbar_background.png file in the framework-res.apk

been using circle.glx.nl for all my frameworks...figured it be a good idea to throw it out there for people cuz i know it really helps me....

Are you on an HTC phone? If you are, the icon is located inside the PCSCII.apk file in /system/app/

Thanks again for help! I've changed the icon now, but how do I get it inside to /system/app again? I bet I've hav to use adb/pull -something, but I don't know how to do this? Would you mind to give me a link or something?

No problem. To my knowledge zip files can still be accessed though the theme manager however, to change the zip to an mtz all you have to do is rename the file and replace the .zip with .mtz. Future releases will all be given in mtz format.

As of right now I am leaning towards a "donate" version of the theme that will include all icons. However, two things: I don't know how I am going to implement that and I am afraid XDA will boot me if I do.

That is the folder icon. I don't like to see what is in my folder because I only use the folders for my app drawer.

You can change the icon using some launcher that have a feature to edit icon on homescreen (ex : Holo launcher, adw, etc)... the other way is, open your apk with 7zip or winrar, look for the icon in drawable folder, replace it with my icon, then replace the apk with rootex...
For flashable zip or icon patcher, I'm a little busy now.... When I'vve a time, I'll make a tutorial to make your own flashable zip...

Look in /data/app, you may find com.sonyericsson.album-x.apk, com.sonyericsson.music-y.apk and com.sonyericsson.video-z.apk. Pls tell me the values of x, y and z.

There is not any of those apk files in this folder.[emoji50]

I couldn't find the movies apk in that folder.

Well, pls install root app delete, launch it, select movie and you will see the true path of this app (but don't unsinstall it of course).

Sorry mate, I was not at home so I cannot feedback before. The v2 worked partially. I mean, if I look for the apk files in the browser (also in Settings > Applications) they have the moded icon, but in the launcher they still have the old ones. This behaviour just happens with Album, Walkman, Movies, Radio, Camera (in v1 it was OK, but not in v2) and Sony select.
Later I can post some pics.

BTW, v1 worked perfect on my father's T (my old T).
I'll have to wait 12 days to do further tests on it.

Just for further info.
The camera icon was working on the first version, but not in the v2. I don't really know why.
The media apks are the last version of each one (look at this post). What I do is to push the apk files to the system/app folder. So, maybe that's why it is not in the data partition.

Update v2: icon "settings" added, created by me[/SIZE]
@ironwick : this new v2 works perfect on my old T.
