I have a couple of apps that won't allow the clipboard to be used. The modal key doesn't show the clipboard button (or the voice button, either), and tapping in the text input field doesn't show the "paste" button.
These are financial apps, and I wonder if this is something that is built into them by the developer as an ill-conceived "security" feature, or if there's just something wonky going on in the custom ROM I'm using.
Anyway, is it possible to force the clipboard to be always be available, or does an app developer have final control over clipboard availability within their own app?
BTW- The clipboard used to work in both of these apps, but I don't recall if I updated them between the time it used to work and the time it stopped working.

I posted this in the Themes and Apps subforum a week ago and got no responses. I was wondering if anyone proficient at Tasker knows how to modify Active Display/Notifications.
For instance, is it possible to use Tasker to dictate what notifications will show up on Active Display depending on the time of day? So, when I'm at work, I'd like to disable (i.e., uncheck) all corporate email notifications (but only as they appear in Active Display) since I get those notifications on my PC anyway. If not, maybe I need to just disable corporate email notifications globally during that period of time, which would be a less desirable solution.
I could be wrong, but I think Tasker can only do something like that if the app is setup as a plugin to work with Tasker.
There very well may be an easier/better way to do it, but if you're rooted you can run shell commands to simulate touch input on the device. You could have a task to open the Active Notifications settings, and simulate the input of tapping the checkboxes you wanted to enable/disable, and run different tasks to set/remove them based on time/location/etc.
Like I said, there may be an easier way that I am not aware of, but that comes to mind.

thats actually a genius idea...unsure if we can change the active notification setting, but maybe use tasker to clear the notification from the status bar then maybe bring it back (or a tasker notification with smiliar messaging) about the skipped notification on unlock.

Well it could definitely toggle the setting. I've used it to run some actions within apps before (apps that I wanted to "manually" sync on a specific schedule. You define the shell commands as:
Code:
input tap X Y
or
input swipe X1 Y1 X2 Y2
So you'd launch "settings", find the coordinates of the Active Display button, set it to tap there, find and set the coords for "manage notification types", and the associated apps. This could be tough if you add/remove apps a lot, because the coordinates would change if a new app falls in the list ahead of one you have setup to use this method, but it would work.
You could also fire a notification from Tasker when the task is executed to tell you that the selected apps are behind hidden.
This is exactly what I wanted. How and where can I input this shell command? And how can I find the coordinates?
Hi guys
Tried importing a profile which will recognise three repeat keys and trigger an action, but, unfortunately this isn't working.
I created two test profiles, one based on camera button press, another based on shake. Simple result is beep and pop-up, but even that isn't working.
I have heard about key guard and not sure if this may be related tasker is enabled, but on swipe down 'no profiles are enabled' even though all three are checked orange and should be switched on. Phone has been restarted and its still not working...
Any ideas?

A profile is active only when it's context(s) are all meet. That's different than being enabled.
Assuming you're using tasker 5, the toggles switched to the right and colored indicate enabled. The profile name being colored indicates active. When active, the tasker notification will show the name of the profile as active.
Try a simple test. Create a profile that has a context of application -> select one app like calculator or something -> use the arrow top left to exit the app list. Now create a new task when prompted and add an alert -> popup action. Just put testing in the text field and save. Now back out of tasker using the device back button multiple times. Open calculator and a pop-up should appear. The tasker notification should show the profile as active.
Now, it's hard to know what is happening with the profiles you're attempting without more information. You should export and post the DESCRIPTION of the profile whenever asking for help with a profile or task.
Long press on the profile name -> 3-dot menu -> export -> export "DESCRIPTION" to clipboard (not XML). Then paste here.
Beginner mode must be off and the profile must be named. If you didn't name it, there will be a default name created from the first context. You need to actually name the profile by long pressing and tapping the "A" at the top.

Want to control your phone remotely? Even if it's locked? Especially if it gets stolen, or just lost? I think this guide is the best way to do it, for now.
Requirements: Poweron schedule and power on alarm (in case of theft and to not notify a thief, i have alarm on silent)
edxposed and xposed edge pro (of which requires magisk and root, duh)
airmirror and airdroid
A lock screen set by pin, password, or even pattern.
Airmirror is used to control your device remotely; it can be used from the web or the app. Airdroid is to be installed and configured on the device you wish to control. I recommend you use systemize (magisk module) to systemize airdroid; it seems to make airdroid more responsive. As for configuring airdroid, please make sure you can actually control your phone first, and that you don't get the popup for screen casting (otherwise you cannot control phone remotely)
Configure the bootup trigger (in more triggers section) in xposed edge pro to turn on wifi/data, which is required to use airdroid/airmirror. Also, i would recommend you to set for the sms recieved trigger action to open airdroid.
Finally, with xposed edge pro, here comes the vital part to unlock your phone wirelessly.
First you must gesture recording; for now set it to record on a volume key. Lock the phone. Call the device. The call will always wake the device up, and as soon as that happens start the gesture recording. Dismiss the call, swipe and enter your code. End the gesture recording. Now go back to more triggers.
For the incoming call ringed trigger, select multi-action. First action is delay, set it to 2500ms. Second action is gesture inject, for the gesture you've just made.
Now, be sure your gesture actually works. Lock the screen and make a call to it. If your gesture succeeds, the call should be dismissed and the code entered. If not, just keep trying until you get it right. If you have the sms recieved trigger to open airdroid, send a text message to open airdroid. From this point on, open airmirror then control your device to do whatever.
airdroid seems to work as long as you have internet connectivity, and even though it has a data cap, using airdroid to control your screen uses very little data. Be sure to test multiple times, and after several reboots for maximum reliability.
If this guide actually gets attention, I will make it more clear, and more steps to be optimal.
Creates a private clipboard that cannot be read by other apps. You can also create and manage private notes.
TIP: by giving permission to use "accessibility service" you can copy and paste text to editable fields that do not offer the "three-dot" submenu.
Get it from Play store
To copy text to your secure clips:
Select the text to be copied.
In the context menu, select the icon to see further options - normally a three-dot icon.
Choose "Copy to SecClips".
Or, if you have given permission to use the "accessibility service", long click the selected text and click on the corresponding icon in the popup window.
To paste text from your secure clips:
Select the text to replace. If you don't want to replace an existing text you need to write a couple of characters and select them.
In the context menu, select the icon to see further options - normally a three-dot icon.
Choose "Paste from SecClips".
Or, if you have given permission to use the "accessibility service", long click the text field (even without selecting a text to replace) and click on the corresponding icon in the popup window.
To view and manage secure clips and notes:
Choose the corresponding icon at the top right of this page.
Or, choose "SecClips" in the context menu.
Or, use the quick settings tile "SecClips". You may need to give the application permission to create popup windows to use this feature.

"Secure Clips" is a continuation of "Private Clipboard." Initially it was created for those users who had expressed the desire to donate for "Private Clipboard": in these cases I prefer to create a new paid app that offers something extra (like the black theme) from the free app, so those who donate can get something more.
One thing that some users have pointed out to me on "Private Clipboard" is that not all apps (editable fields) offer the " three dots" menu when you long click on an editable field. This practically prevented these users from using the app as they had no way to copy and paste text from the private clipboard.
On "Private Clipboard" I had no way to find a remedy since the precondition for this app is that it would not need to use any permission to work.
In "Secure Clips" I used the "accessibility service" to give the possibility to copy and paste text to all editable fields, even in those cases where the apps overwrite the system menu and do not offer the " three dots" submenu. So, when you long click on an editable field, you see both the menu offered by the system to copy/paste etc. and also a popup window offering copy/paste from the private clipboard. Note that the use of "accessibility service" is not necessary if the apps do not overwrite the system menu.
Update
v. 2.0.1
Optimized the logic to automatically show and hide the popup.
Fixed a problem with the non-visible item "SecClips" in the submenu "three dots".
Bug fixes and minor improvements.
Update
v. 2.0.2
Added locale for French, German, Greek, Italian, Portuguese and Spanish.
Bug fixes and minor improvements.
Update
v. 2.4
New setting to see abbreviated text in the "three dots" sub-menu. This option is useful when default entries are truncated.
You can delete all clips from the clipboard. You can find the functionality in the context menu located on the page where the clips are displayed.
Bug fixes and minor improvements.
For the third day I've been trying to work out how to use Tasker Scenes to browse my favourite apps in fullscreen - removing the status bar and navbar.
I have successfully created an activity based scene, and task which uses the Display As "Activity, No Bar, No Status, No Nav" option. I then have this set to show when i open up Chrome, Kiwi, Shopping Apps etc.
The issue I've been experiencing is when the scene is activated it disables all elements within the app, i cannot scroll, or touch anywhere on the screen. The overlay is somehow blocking all touch input despite me using an activity rather than a layer option.
The irritating thing is I've tried all the options i can think of and i know this must be easy to fix?!
As a side note, Tasker does have all permissions granted. Any ideas?
