Hey all !
I have been searching for it for quite some time now, but could not figure it out... It is pretty simple: I'd like to mirror my RAZR I screen on my TV.
I have a Sony blu-ray that has screen mirroring feature with direct WiFi, a Samsung TV with Ethernet capabilities (therefore dlna) and even a raspberry pi connected both to the network and to the TV.
And even with all this, I could find ANY way to play angry birds on my phone or watch a YouTube video on the big screen..
Please help ! Anyone does it ?
I use dlna without any problem to play videos or music from any of my network device, but could not find any simple solution to... Just have the whole screen ^^
Thanks !

No one has any hint ?
Or maybe I should have post in the forum "Questions, bugs..," ? I don't see any difference between those 2 forums ^^'

The RAZR I has the driver for HDMI built into the kernel. But we don't have hall support for it, or u need to add the HDMI.SMI.so from a system.IMG from a Chinese RAZR I to this phone. So at the moment, u can't do it with HDMI if I am right

Well, for play angry birds i dont know but for media streaming use chromecast or dlna broadcaster, i use the first

OK thanks for your answers. Maybe it something we can hope with the KitKat update! Like widi or some miracast of some kind...

It's driving me nuts. The only thing that stops the the Nexus 7 being nothing more than a toy or glorified ebook for me is the fact I cannot find any form of big screen streaming for it. My 2 year old phone has MHL abilities which is okay but someone must know if there are any plans for the Nexus 7? It seems to be ridiculous to have such a powerful device and not be able to use it on a bigger screen.
I've searched back 10 pages on this subject and found nothing so welcome any fresh perspectives on it.
BubbleUPnP and make a DLNA server, I use it to connect to my TV and Xbox.

+1 to BubbleUPnP...
Though screen mirroring is not possible in BubbleUPnP, you can throw any media from it to your TV or other
DLNA enabled devices...
Luckily, my TV has WiFi dongle and Wi-Fi direct feature...
so, once my device is connected to the TV via WiFi-direct, launch BubbleUPnP and select the TV as renderer, I can
throw any media to the TV...
I'm also hoping and wishing for the screen mirroring...
Hi I will look at BubbleUPnP, I've been using Skifta for the time being which does DNLA quite well.
I use my PS3 as a receiver but it doesn't support many file formats.
It's a real shame the Nexus doesn't at least support MHL.

Except mkv files, right?
With a raspberry pi and tassadar's android transporter rom mirroring is possible with reasonable response times

Well. S4 is quite powerfull for our device and well. Its kinda useless unless you do something that requires that firepower. Well Sony has put a great H/W mhl chip and it can interpolate the screen to FullHD if you have proper cable and tv. Watching Hd movies is a pleasure but only sometimes. I know English and i dont need subtitles. But when i wana watch a film with my family. And its full HD. I cant. S/W decoding lacs and it shows subtitles. H/W is perfect and smooth but Sony didnt make subtitles to be shown over H/W decoding on the big screen. Have anyone found a way to show subtitles ?
So the solution is to download VLC for Android and enable Hardware acceleration in options. It plays 1080p uncomressed videos perfectly and supports subtitles over the MHL cable

And I believe it's got nothing to do with Sony, it's a limitation of the technology, because Dice player offers an expliciely stated experimental feature for subtite output via hdmi. I'd have to check if its for Samsung devices only though, I believe I remember the option saying that.
Side question: most fullhd tvs feature a usb port nowadays anyway, why not use that and play your stuff directly on the tv if the technology doesnt seem to be really there...?
Re: MHL Videos
I agree. Or you could download screen standby in play store. Try if it could reduce lag when using SW rendering

Dude thats imposible( i havent found a way)
Nope, it's not the same: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HDMI#Relationship_with_MHL
Different connector, different wireing, different (altered) protocol. Nope, not the same.
Well it's not possible on your phone but you have a PC. There's plenty of tools to be found in the allmighty internet allowing you to easily overlay the subtitles onto your existing video. They will be a part of the "images" then though. Depending on the firepower at your disposal, such an encode takes somwhere between 10-30 minutes per movie for a typical hollywood blockbuster.

Yep. Well i asked a person who edits videos and he said that it cant be hardcoded. Butt. thanks for the info. Although I really want sony to implement subtitles over MHL. And i mean there is no difference if i say HDMI or MHL. MHL is a convertor and it decodes colors different way. But it has aboslutly the same posibilities.

Uhm... yes it can.
On the other hand, dont feed the trolls: You're right, it can't be done...

Is it possible to share my Note screen on my LG SmartTV?
I want to do it directly Note -> TV without a need of a computer. I know that is possible with a LG Smartphone.. with the SmartShare app, but when I install that app on my Note I got the erroe "Manufacter does not match" ...
Any solutions?
Thanks!
Nothing?
You could use MHL to HDMI and directly link to your TV, which is as simple as plugging in an MHL cable (which you have to purchase separately) between the two. I don't know of a wireless way though, sorry.

LG allows media sharing through this app, but its not a direct link and you can't share anything but media. You could also find a DLNA server on the market, but there's doesn't seem to be an easy screen share method.

I own a LG 3D TV and sometimes use Allshare to view videos i recorded, even music and pictures works..
Sharing images/videos is not the problem, the big deal is screen share wireless
If you could juri rig MHL to be wireless, that's the only way, unless you code something to do it for you.

Hey. I was wondering if there was any option to connect our phone (optimus 4x) to TV, in my case the Samsung Smart Tv Es8000 ([samsung.com/uk/consumer/tv-audio-video/television/led-tv/UE40ES8000UXXU) .
If possible, what should I get ? (cables and that sort of stuff) . I wanted to share the screen with the Tv, for video streaming and gaming on a bigger screen. Any ideas?
Sure u can.. i use this cable http://www.ebay.com/itm/Micro-USB-M...-HTC-Sensation-G14-EVO-3D-flyer-/280766335892
And it shares the image with the tv ? Sorry if noob question ahah

Greetings,
Thinking of buying a PS3 DS3 controller for gaming on my Xperia Z, viewing on my Samsung 42inch HDTV via MHL adaptor.
I have searched this forum and Google in general but cannot find an answer to my question.
Can anyone who has the DS3 set up with their Xperia Z tell me this..
As well as using the DS3 for gaming, can you also navigate the Android OS using the controller? Can you use it in non-game apps like YouTube, Play Store, Play Music etc?
Would be cool if I could :good:
Thanks
I had played it only for a while, just for fun and yes, I was completely able to navigate whole OS using DS3. I hadnt checked if it does work with youtube etc, Im guessing it does.
