Hi Guys
I've bought a S3 mini on amazon.com which should be an unlocked international version. Unfortunately, the phone turned out to be locked and when I put a sim card in it, it asks for a network unlock code. Normally I would send it back but I have bought it while in US and now I will be pain in the ass to send it back. As the phone came as unlocked and without any service provider info. Therefore i don't know what network it belong to. I know that it is possible to identify the phone origin by the numbers in the about screen but that is all I know.
So I'm asking if anyone of you guys know how to unlock this phone? Your assistance will be highly appreciated.
Thank you
the phone is from Venezuela

I've done some digging and the phone is from Venezuela:
Model: GT-I8190L
Model name: GALAXY S III mini
Country: Venezuela
Version: Android 4.1.2
Changelist: 1346193
Build date: Mon, 05 Aug 2013 11:07:20 +0000
Product Code: VMT
PDA: I8190LUBAMH1
CSC: I8190LTFGANC2
MODEM: I8190LUBAMH1
if I would flash a custom rom e.g :cm11.0_golden.nova.20140617.ODIN_TWRP would that unlock the phone?
How?
How did you dig out network information? I have bought s3 mini on ebay, and after software update my phone is locked.
I can't purchase unlock code because i don't know what network it's locked on. No reply from seller.
Please help!
THX

So I have a galaxy S vibrant SGH-T959. I recently updated to the leaked 2.2 and its awesome. So I was talking to a co-worker who has the galaxy S I9000 dxjg4 and he uses that on AT&T but he'd like to get some 2.2 action on it. I wasn't aware of the various different I9000's there were until today, I just thought there was the 4 for the US carriers and the I9000 for everyone else.
What can I load on his phone? Are the ROMs mostly compatible between all the I9000s or are they just as different as one for a vibrant vs his phone?
What is different between all those i9000 models, is each one for a specific carrier? Is there a universal unlocked one that isn't tied to any carrier?
If I wanted to get an I9000, is there any specific one that's the "good" one to get? gets the fastest updates, etc? Where would you even pickup one of those? Do they have a model that does 3g on both Tmobile and AT&T?
Thanks,
-J
No dice? Someone has to at least be able to answer SOME of these questions? Where did you guys get your galaxy S i9000s? Some internet site?
The t-mobile galaxy s vibrant you have doesn't have a front Facing camera and uses a different radio chip to support the 1700 (AWS) frequency that t-mo uses.
The international galaxy s I9000 has front facing camera, fm radio support and uses the standard international frequency.
The Bell (Canadian) galaxy s vibrant (I9000M) is same as the international one except the radio is change to support the North American carriers (850 frequency instead of 900).

Again, thanks to any who respond.
recommend you search around and flash to jpy..then flash either the jp2 or jl3 (part of canadian jl2 firmware) modem all in odin.. then do factory reset... then you may have to use sgs info to make sure 850 mhz 3g is enabled..

Maybe try to use firmware that isn't branded, just general for Your country. I know it happens when You've lost Your imei. Is Your imei the correct one?

Was wondering if I would be able to install the following firmware downloaded from sammobile.com onto an AT&T note 3 via kies. And also would this trip knox?

Thanks for the reply. That really sucks as these phones have really poor asian language support native.
Hi everyone,
I'm new here but I hope someone can help.
I bought an old S6 Active from the US for my husband to use on the EE network in the UK. It all works fine, no issues at all, but I really need to activate the WiFi Calling option which is currently greyed out under Settings>Connections.
I've been doing quite a bit of reading around and from the EE forums they suggest flashing EE firmware onto the phone and this should allow the WiFi Calling option.
First question, is this correct?
Second question is, I cannot find any non-AT&T firmware that is specific to the S6 Active model that I have (SM-G890A). There is plenty of firmware for the S6, of various model numbers, including UK EE firmware from Sammobile.com. The question is can I use an S6 firmware on the S6 Active and if so what model's firmware can I use?
Details of the phone I have are:
Model No. Samsung-SM-G890A
Android version: 7.0
Baseband version: G890AUCS7DRA2
Kernel version: 3.10.61-12599862
[email protected] #1
Build number: NRD90M.G890AUCS7DRA2
I've not logged into any accounts or used the phone in any way yet, so if anything needs doing that may wipe the phone it is not a problem.
Thanks very much for any help.

It's easier to convert your at&t to the unlocked version software wise because at&t updates are hard to come by.
Go grab samfirm download tool then download update for
Model: sm-n960u1
Region: xaa
And then flash that update with odin.

Just download the stock Samsung US OS and install that onto your device
Doesn't matter what is used. The firmware will provision to whatever sim you have
