Are there any cases out there that have a built-in speaker? Would be kinda cool for listening to tunes w/o headphones. The stock speaker just isnt loud enough in louder environments... Like the car.
What kind of a head unit do you have in your car? Maybe you can hook up the phone to your car stereo via an aux cable, or via Bluetooth.
I think he means in general like a car. I have yet to see a case with a integral speaker. It would be nice though.

i'm looking at maybe buying a set of buds/canals for around AUD100. would this price point give a noticable improvement in sound quality over the stock buds?
i mainly play 192kpbs mp3's.
thanks.
The HD2 buds are crap, as with most prepackaged ones.
EDIT: However, the remote is useful. If you have a soldering iron you could solder the cables just over the remote to a pair of new ones that fit better (I did it with the extra iPhone cable that came with my Beats by Dr. Dre (Monster), great success!)

Cool! I would LOVE to try these too with my Beats... but I would rather get an extra Beat's cable to do it... can't bear to cut the ones I got. The Beats cable remote will still answer calls and pause music... any idea where I can order an extra?
The 'earbuds' that come with the HD2 are even worse than the Apple whites. Which should tell you everything you need to know.
They are horrible. It's like sticking a fruit pastel in your ear.

I don't know where to buy an extra in your case, but they do exist. Saw them at an Apple store where I live. I'd guess eBay is a good bet.
well i ended up buying some over-ear headphones. i mainly use them when the tv is being used by someone else and i want to listen to music/games, or for watching movies later at night.
i couldnt really hear alot wrong with the stockies though. they got a bit untrolled during mid-range heavy stuff, at loud volume, and not very strong bass, but i thought they sounded ok. horrible size and shape for my ears though.
i went with sennhieser hd25 sp2's. they seem pretty good overall and keep out backround noise at home.
Do other headphones work as antenna for the radio?
i have an issue with my HD2 that if i plug in a normal set of headphones (standard 3 pole 3.5mm jack) the phone starts randomly making calls
has anyone else had this ?
i would love new headphones as the standards are utter crap

the ones i bought do. very well. id guess, like most fm radios, any piece of conductive metal would tranmit and receive a signal.

no unless you can find another pair with a fm reciver that fits into a 3.5mm jack
so a normal set of headphones = no
The receiver is not in the headphone itself, so that should not make a difference at all.
i tested the stock earbuds today and i can't say that they are very bad in sound quality. but the music is not loud enough for me! will some other earbuds gain some level? sorry for my english...
the stock earbuds dont get loud enough for me sometimes, but they fit snugly for me and i like the design. i especially love the little remote on the wiring.
unfortunately, they dont really make the earbuds any better. i have had my hd2 for about three weeks now and my left bud is giving me sound issues. i gotta twist the jack a few times and wiggle it around to get sound back into it. its quite annoying.
do you guys know of any good earbuds with the remote on it?

I have some Etymotic HF2 haedphones and they work with the radio.... No problems with them. Sound quality is great and athough not bass heavy they are very open and natural with very clear seperation. They do work best with the foam ear tips over the silicone ones supplied and looking at getting some Comply foam tips as I want to use these on my bike and also keep out the road noise. The standard ones are OK and work very well. The sound is better for me using the foams so the better shaped Comply ones are my next purchase......
The Etymotic HF2's have been much better than any one's I have tried so far and comfortable if you are used to wearing ear plugs....

I dont understand how you guys can listen to music on your HD2 - the headphone output is extremely noisy!!!
Whether I put in stock earbuds, Westone UM2s, or Audio-Technica CK100 trips it's just crap.

I do not like the headphones that came with the HD2.
I have had sony and LG phones that had a 3.5mm jack right where the mic/answer/pause/etc clip. So I could use any set of headphones I wanted.
I know I can plug directly into the HD2. But I would like to have the control to answer the phone and talk with the mic using my earbuds.
Anyone know of a universal 3.5mm cable with the mic clip etc. that works with the HD2?
Thanks

How would it be, if you would use the "search" function?!
There are quite a lot threads around talking about this subject, I can't see any need for a new one!
Hello,
I'm looking for headset (bluetooth preferred) for my Droid Incredible. It has to be over the ear style because I wear hearing aids.
I like this--->http://www.plantronics.com/us/product/voyager-pro-plus
But the ear piece will push against the ear mold...
This style over the ear--->http://www.amazon.com/Plantronics-M214C-Headset-Adjustable/dp/B000ANOY7M/ref=pd_sim_e_7
is what I'm looking for but it's wired.
Suggestions?
The v pro is one of the top bluetooth headsets on the market at the moment. Looks aside its got some of the clearest connections and the dual mic setup really does its job. Another more lightweight headset you might be interested in is the plantronics m1100. I have only seen one headset that does not have an earbud component to it and i am blanking on the name at the moment. It was a reversible headset designed to be easily switched from one ear to the other and had a speaker instead of an earbud. If i remember what the headset is i'll be sure to post it.
I'm on my third, because I leave them on jobs all of the time. The best bt hands down. Call, build and battery quality is top notch. I get about 5.5-6hrs on a charge talking or streaming Bubba the love sponge from radio io.

+1 on the voyager pro plus. Great battery life and clarity. You can remove the earbud and it would lay flat against the hearing aid. Take a look at the manual online and you will see what i mean

Don't alot of modern hearing aids have bluetooth built in so they can act as a headset?

I'm no expert when it comes to headphones, but I've been using the JVC Xtreme Xplosives (In-Ear). They are comfortable, very cheap (they cost me USD $18 several months ago) and the sound is awesome with the included amplifier in the One.
JVC has In-Ear, On-Ear and Over-Ear headsets within the Xtreme Xplosives line. You may want to check them out.

I didn't know you were looking for a headset with mic. I'd go to Amazon or other online retailer and look for price/reviews on them and get one.
Do you have any idea about Bose MIE2I??? Is this product compatible with HTC ONE?
I personally prefer Shure headphones over Bose when I've tried both. I've used Bose QC20 (in ear) and QC15 (over ear) - to me the active noise cancelation deadened the sound of the music making it much less vibrant.
I've also used Shure SE110, SE210, and SE425 (all in ear). They all had better sound than the Bose due to not using active noise cancelation (a properly fitting in ear seal is all the noise cancelation you really need) and all allow you to have an in line mic. The 110s were OK, but they're old now so you probably can't find them. The 210s are probably the worst headphones they've made - don't bother. The 425s are excellent and I currently use these. Be aware that they have a pretty neutral profile so if you prefer over emphasized bass like from beats headphones then you probably won't like these. The 425s are priced similarly to the Bose ones.
As a side note, the best investment you can make for in ear headphones is getting some custom fit sleeves for your ear canals. It makes a world of difference to any headphones in both noise isolation and sound quality

Hello
Few days ago, listening to the music through an AUX wire in my car, my capacitor amplifier burnt. Unfortunately, since then my phone Motorola Atrix HD plays differently. While listening to songs it sounds like sound coming from the well, in others you can't hear the vocal and the bass, in others only bass and predominance of high tones. Does anyone know what might have happened? Through speakers it plays completely fine, the speaker when on the phone also fine. The main problem is when it comes to listening to the music while the headphones are wired through the Jack cable. I'll appreciate any ideas/advices.

It may be the same issue I've before. Try this: Get a toothpick and a flashlight - use the toothpick to scrape the bottom of your headphone jack. There is a small circular indent at the bottom that collects dust and lint. Once the debris is loosened, blow into the hole the expel it. Even a very small amount of debris can cause this issue. Be careful not to bend the metal contacts on the inside of the jack. I fixed mine this way one month ago (after foolishly ordering a new headphone jack from eBay - haha)

Hi, I actually just had the same headphone jack issue with my atrix hd (mb886) today! So basically mine was dropping the aux connection at the slightest moves/bumps while driving. Today however, the phone stopped recognizing the aux connected to the headphone jack all together. So basically, I searched online and concluded it was a hardware issue that has kits to replace. So tonight carelessly messing with the headphone jack, I stuck a small t5 screwdriver into the jack and fiddle it slightly. I believe what happened is there is a metal contact piece at the bottom of the jack that touches the metal end piece of the aux cable. So I slightly (very slightly) pried this metal piece back up using the screwdriver.... tried using my headphones and woolah the phone recognized it perfectly! Didn't see any debris fall out of the headphone btw..so I'm leaning toward a connectivity issue.

Now that I think about it, I did try adjusting the contacts too, but it didn't work until I saw the debris fall out. I haven't had a problem since. My issue began right after a snowboard bail into a snow bank - phone first. Lol
