[Q] BlueZ vs bluedroid: which firmwares use which? - Sony Xperia T, TL, TX, V

I'm realizing my car doesnt play nice with certain firmwares because of the Bluetooth stack that changed in some Android versions.
Im on 4.1.2 (9.1.A.1.141), and it works with my car. Is there any other newer firmware that has the same BT stack as this one? Which firmwares have which BT stack?

Bluethooth Upgrading

Hello folks.
I discovered that the BA has BT 1.1 onboard. Now I do have some mobile devices that support BT 1.2. Bluetooth 1.2. seems to work a lot better and doesnt have that much interferance with wifi signals.
Now my questions is what if i try to upgrade my BT Radio? Is it possible to upgrade BT 1.1. to version 1.2? My current BT radio is version 1.15.00 but i dont know if its version 3500 or 3900. I have the latest Helmi'c BA WM5 rom installed.
I read this forum post:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=274425
Its all about the BA WM5 Broadcom 1.7.1 Build 3400 Stack. If I install this BA radio is it possible to communicate with BT 1.2 devices?
Greetings Mark
Bluetooth version is a hardware version, not software one, so it can not be upgraded, the 1.15 radio is for the GSM part of the phone, the bluetooth stack is the software that controls the bluetooth hardware, so you may try to change it
Thnx for your help.
The radio stack didnt work and is only working with WM03. Now i have 2 bluetooth icons in my connections menu. Bluetooth is luckly still working!

[Q] Cognition Bluez

does anyone know if the new 3.0 versions of cognition will ever have bluez inplace of the stock samsung bluetooth? I am looking for a bluetooth stack in a rom where I might be able to use a wiimote app to control emulators.
thanks in advanced
I BELIEVE that the issue with BT is using a Captivate Based Rom (Cogs) and an i9000 based kernel/modem
In theory if you keep your ROM/KERNEL/MODEM all in the Captivate based realm it SHOULD work?
I personally don't use my BT so I'm not positive... Anyone correct me if I'm wrong

What is the difference in BT for different ROMs

Hi,
my BT connection from I9000 to my car's radio hands-free phone function (Citroen C4) works as long as I use 2.3.6 JVU.
When I upgrade to cm9, cm10, ... connection is not possible (failed).
Are new BT versions not compatible with old BT systems?
Can one install old BT versions to cm X?

Bluetooth issue with ALL new car music receivers, older ones are fine

PROBLEM SOLVED. Need Android 6
Question: Did any of you have bluetooth issues and how did you fix it?
My music skips a beat when I bluetooth connect it to my new head unit in my car (Kenwood KMM-BT502DAB)
Turns out that I have this issue with all new car units, like Pioneer MVH-X580DAB, JVC KD-DB97BTE, Kenwood KMM-BT502DAB etc.
Older models do work! Pioneer DEH-X8700DAB works and has bluetooth 3.0
Maybe the newer models have bluetooth 4.0?
I am still investigating.
I run Phoenix ROM V3 Plus https://phoenixromnest.wordpress.com
Android 5.1.1 Google security fixes / patch level 2016-02-01 Kernel version 3.10.65+ 2016-01-18
I ran Phoenix ROM V3 for a year and it is 99% stable
Currently looking for another AOSP rom that is stable.

ROM with working bluetooth HFP/HSP support NOT based on 4.x ?

Hello,
I'm searching a ROM with working bluetooth HFP (hands free protocol) and HSP (headset protocol). All ROM's I tried so far (RR, Lineage 14.1 official and inofficial, AICP, FlyMe 5.1.1) are only able to stream sound via A2DP to a bluetooth sink = headset or speaker. What I need is the HFP protocol as this is used by some applications (POI warners in detail) and hardware as motorbike headsets / car audio systems . Can anybody give me an advise what ROM will provide this and is NOT based on the stock 4.x ROMs ? Or is bluetooth HFP generally limited to stock ROM only ?
Thanks, Georgie

Hi Georgie,
Have you found one?
I've found out on 4pda that you need to use Android 5.1.1
