So I've noticed every once in awhile, the watch screen will stay on and not dim, or go out. The only way I have found to fix it is to reboot the watch. I suspect it may be caused by an app, but I am not sure. Anyone else have this happen?
Me too

Yeah, i had this when i used the MapMyRun app. I guess this is some app misbehaving. As u said a reboot solves it.
I've narrowed it down to my GearCam app.

Hello, I've noticed my Galaxy Gear keeps rebooting randomly. It has no problem when stationary but when I'm driving or walking around it just keeps rebooting. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Adam

Nope everything is stock. Tried to reboot note 3, tried to reboot the gear. Nothing helped. Tried to factory reset the Gear as well, still didn't fix anything.
I'm wondering if it's something with the accelerometer cause it does fine when it's sitting on my desk.
Maybe a faulty unit with a loose battery connection...?

Strange, I would reflash the stock image in ODIN..
Iv had to do this a few times myself, mucking around with system files and bricking my gear
Hey...this may solve my missing camera app problem. Anyone know where I can get my hands on the image?

Adam, I had the same issue when i got my watch. I noticed it was randomly shutting off. More investigating revealed that it shut off if moved/wiggled.

Run over to http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/ and search for SM-V700.
Download the most relevant image country/carrier, it doesn't have to match up exactly..

Awesome. Oddly, everytime you do anything on this device it seems you need to rerrot and reapply all of your apps. I just put an entire image on it and it kept everything!
Most importantly, I got my camera back
Thank you.

I think you are right, with one caveat. I just went all day without it happening, I disabled the auto screen wake-up though. I think it doesn't have the motion problem if it's not trying to detect any motion.
What did you do with yours? Get a new one?
Ever find a fix for this? Mine does it even with auto wake up disabled and has been since I got the watch. Thinking I may have to send it in for warranty replacement
Temporary Fix to my Problem
Hey, so I had the same exact problem. It was so bad to the point where if I moved the gear at all, it would shut down/reboot. How I fixed it was I turned it on without moving the Gear too much (a very hard task). I kept it on for two hours without moving it; after, I noticed it wouldn't automatically turn off again while I put it on my wrist. I don't know how this fixed the issue, but at the moment it is working well without shutting off/rebooting. I will update you guys on how the Gear is working in the next few days. Hope this clears up any confusion because I know I was very frustrated.
I have the same proble...randomly reboot and sometimes switching off and i can not switch it on again till i put it into the carging case. When the carging started,i remove the watch from the case and i can switch it on. So i dont think its a hardware issue. Will try to put the tizen system on it.
You guys are correct, the moment motion detection is stopped, this gear SMV700 stops rebooting while walking, driving, moving basically.
There is no precise info on this even firmware upgrade doesn't fix it.
Anyone see their location icon blinking constantly in the upper right corner? It just started this morning. I have had android 5.1.1 since late last week. It's eating my battery. 73% after an hour .
Seeing the same thing after upgrading to 5.1.1 yesterday
What build? I'm on Z and haven't had this at all. Obviously not a common issue. Yet.
sounds as you have an app constantly checking your location. set your location to battery saving.

The thing is that it's not really blinking, it's more flickering really rapidly. Looks buggy. And I've never seen it before. Had to turn off location for quite a while to get it to go away. It's happened twice in two days.

it pops up when your location is being used, ive seen it a few times.
Same issue!
I am having the same issue here. Its not blinking, its more a flickering of the icon like there is a loose connection to a light bulb. Quite odd....
It started just before I update to 5.1.1, sometime after I/O so I wonder if it might be related to the Photos app or another google app update. I hoped upgrading to 5.1.1 would resolve it but it was still there.
I am also on 100% stock android
Same, nexus 5_ 5.1.1 stocks
I've exactly the same issue. Hoping updates~~~ i've notice battery decrease vert fast sincères update. Not sure it's related
One of your applications keeps requesting location access and is being granted then it'll turn off. Find out which application it is and then uninstall the app or deny the location permission to the application.
Or just turn off location / GPS.

Same issue!
I have a Nexus 6. I noticed the issue about 2 weeks ago. I was hoping to get it fixed with the 5.1.1 update, but it didn't.
I haven't been able to find out which app causes this. If someone finds out, could you please let us know?

Boot up in safe mode. Start each app until you find the culprit.
Any resolution?
Has anyone had any luck finding the app responsible for for the flickering icon?
I have started it in safe mode, however am unable to open 3rd party apps in safe mode so cannot find the cause.
Bump
Same issue every startup. 5.1.1 stock. Seems the easy fix is to turn on and off bluetooth though surely there is a more scientific resolution.
I'm been having same issue for some time now.
Today, while location was blinking, I checked the location options and "eye-fi mobile app" (for eye-fi SD card) was at the top of the list.
I have uinstalled it and the blinking stopped...
Will see these days if was the only one causing the problem
I have had this issue on my stock/non-rooted N6 for a while - both on 6.0 and 6.0.1, and probably Lollipop as well. I have it set to sleep after 1 minute of inactivity, but very often it will never turn off. It will be sitting on the homescreen and stay on forever. Usually a reboot fixes it, but then it will go back to staying on. I assume it is some app running in the background that is causing the screen to stay on, but was wondering if anyone else has experienced this, or knows what app might be causing it?
Do you use any screen brightness apps like Lux? Try booting into safe mode and see if it goes away.
Try wiping the cache via stock recovery.
Thanks for the ideas. I do have Lux installed, but don't have it on as I found it to work only sporadically. I might just uninstall it, wipe cache and see how it goes.
My wife had this problem on her n6, it was one of her bs games she had on there after I closed all the apps that were running it worked properly until she opened whatever game was causing it,I'm still trying to narrow it down

Nope mainly slot machine games
I sometimes get the warning, no face detected, regardless of the light I am in. It once suggested I restart if I get this problem. Is it just my device?

I'm leaving this here to assist others. From a search: Turns out it is from a conflict with WhatsApp. If you have this problem, remove the permission for WhatsApp to access the camera, then return it when it next asks. It fixed it.
Update. It's not WhatsApp. Still having intermittent issues. Anyone have ideas?
Same here. Yesterday out of 20 tries it worked once. I am close to say that their implementation of face unlock is utterly crap. It works badly most the time, no matter what lighting situation my face is in.
EDIT: After I wrote this I tried it again, same problem: "No face detected".....
I let the phone sit at the same position and didnt move, rebooted and it worked. This must be some kind of bug.
I think it's related to a 3rd party app
Agreed, I have no problems.

hmm, the questions is what app? I have installed quite a bunch....
I don't have much problem with it, as long as it's decent light.

hey all.
anyone with an oppo watch that sometimes displays the wrong time.
it jumps about 20 minutes ahead of the actually time on my phone.
this happens randomly but have noticed it happen more in the afternoon.
turning the auto setting off then on again on my x3 pro will sort it. but dont want to keep doing that everyday.

Set the location in auto setting correctly and still, you're facing the same issue you can just set the time manually and save the settings.

yea still not resolved it by setting the time manually.for some reason now, everyday the watch will jump ahead an hour. then set back to the right time. not sure when or why this happens. must be a bug..
how do you report this to oppo?
I'm having the exact same problem for a few weeks now.
I tried removing the automatic time setting, but it changes anyways.
Yesterday it updated something and it looked like it got fixed, but it does that anyways but less frequently.
It's really frustrating sometimes, maybe because the main function of a watch is to show the right time...
yea mine hasnt updated as yet.
its so annoying as when im at work i will look at the watch thinking its nearly home time, but really its an hour before.
i have found a way to sort this out.well for me anyways.
all i did was factory reset the my oppo watch and has been working fine for the last 2 days so far.
hopefully will work for others.
I tried the same but didn't work for me :-(
