Hello friends,
I own a Xperia Arc S and would like to upgrade. But not shure whether to get Xperia T or TX
Xperia T have good ROM support over here whereas TX doesnt.
According to me TX looks better though.
I know the actualy difference between them but would like to know lil more from users.
So i need your help guys in deciding as it is a big investment and dont want to regret later in future.
I went through many threads but couldnt find my answers.
Any help is appreciated
Thank You
I got the T, and never once missed the removable battery, off not I really like non removable battery, it is a little bit bigger, and hard reboot is done with button combo.

The real big selling point of T is it's LTE capability but provided your carrier also supports it. Otherwise just get the TX, it slightly looks better plus battery is removable.
Btw, the TX has the CyanogenMod support now also like the T.
Tapatalked from my TX
yea i was wondering about the hard reboot too..normal we just remove the battery to restart. But always wondered what non-removable battery mobile ppl do..
I have one more doubt. Cant we flash T ROM on TX just like we do in Arc forum. Arc S ROMs can be flashed on Arc with lil patch.
For ICS ROMS that is indeed possible, the patch isn't there (yet) for JB

So TX users haven't enjoyed the taste of sony JB yet?
There is a thread very similar to this already.
If I recall correctly, the only differences were the T has better rom support, LTE capability, and a bigger battery, while the TX has a removable (but less capacity) one.
yes i went through many threads but couldnt find my answer correctly.
Hope TX ROM support really picks up. Bad thing is that launch of xperia Z is around the corner and many ppl will go for that instead of xperia T or TX and this is surely hit TX development.

thanks for clearing that doubt..so frankly speaking for which device should i go for? I know it will be my decision in the end but I at a point where i can go for any device..so confused..
So ROM support wise =T
Design and look wise = TX?
battery wise = TX?
overall = ?!?!

Battery wise I would say T, since it has a bigger battery.
Design, in my opinion, T
Screen wise, tx does seem a little clearer, but only if you have touch firmware B
Rom support, definitely T
Overall: T

I've had mine since October, and it's like brand new (and I don't use any case). Perhaps there was a faulty batch.

XV is not available in India yet
as of now only T and TX are available..
Its really sad how Sony are slow to launch a product in India even when they know India is one of the biggest and important market.

Has anyone managed to connect a PS3 controller to the Xperia Z wirelessly? It's working alright via the USB cable, but not without it.
Can it be done?

Yes - search for Six Axis Controller in Play Store (paid app) - must be rooted though.
I use it with my N64 games on my Z.

Ah. That blasted rooting. I have bricked so many Android devices in the past. Not in a good mood to risk it again

ok....but I found it easy...like all the Sony Android devices I have owned - easier than my old HTC!
I used this method and its just a matter of clicking and letting it do its thing (READ the instructions, all the info is there):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2186368
:good:
otherwise no other way that I personally am aware of using the PS3 controller - you might want to search the forums in general as it may be working on other Sony devices and perhaps you can take some info from elsewhere and use it?
Good luck

I agree as the rooting method is pretty simple and you won't lose any of the features that the phone comes with..
One device I know that works both wired and wirelessly is the Xperia tablet S, without rooting may I add and it worked perfectly.
I'm not sure why Sony did not do the same with Xperia Z

Coolllll:good::fingers-crossed:
I would imagine we'll be getting the ability to connect natively in the next update. I've had it on my Tablet S for 6 months or more. The SP will have it at launch so we might see an early port soon.

I'm having so much trouble trying to pair my ps3 controller wirelessly.
It all goes well when I try to connect then soon as I disconnect it, the ps3 controller turns off (can't even turn it back on so lights are flashing) but soon as I plug it in again, it's paired as wired only although the lights are still off.
Any thoughts? It uses to work a while back.

Reset the controller and try again.
There is a button on the back of the controller. You'll need some sort of pin to press it down.

Just relocked bootloader with TA.img and flashed stock FW again and can happily say it's all sorted. So it was a sort of pairing problem. Not sure if i had to do all what i did though to solve it.

Is anyone playing gta 3/vice city wireless? If yes, are all the controls normal?
Thanks

How are you connecting it with wire unless you bought a separate accessory

I dont no but I was assuming it would use tge same type of hardware as I read that it had something to do with the lcd touch panel on the z ultra which tge z1 has just the feature wasnt enabled on it and could be the same for the z if anyone can work around this it would b nice

Hmmm ok then i wasnt entirely sure on wether it was different or not seems to be so now thanks for that
go to Xzkernel thread in orig-development and look through threads , i understand it is gana be so hard , but it MAY come someday
I believe the Xperia Z uses a different screen hardware to the Z1 so this may not be possible.
Hi, everybody.
Could somebody please be so nice to take the Time to upload the camera APK from the Xperia Z?
White you do this, please mention the Android Version.
I prefer the APK from Android 4.1.
If possible, please make the APK installable without Flashing.
Thank you very much.

You won't be able to install it as normal Apk because it's a system one. You can only install it on the same firmware it came from for security reasons.
Also, the Camera from 4.1 will *only* work on Android 4.1 firmware for Xperia Z. Anything newer or different and it needs to be ported, because again - it's a system app.
In short, what you are asking for is not as simple as you think.

Yes i know.
The Oppo Find 7 Camera Application (DeOdexed) works on a Note 3 with Android 4.3, but the one from the S4 Zoom and Note 2 always says:
x App was not installed

Without mentioning any reason. It simply says, that the app was NOT installed (one word too much)
Lol yep. The Sony camera has a lot of dependencies, it ties into the system pretty tightly. Needs to be "ported". Are you on an Xperia Z or different device?

My device is a Note 3.
But it's just interesting to see that camera app on the Note 3.
I also wanted to try, if the limitless burst shot and HDR Video works.
The Oppo Find 7 Camera, with it's 50 MP HD-Images (which beat up the M9's Camera, but don't reach the Lumia 1020 or a Lumix FZ1000), works on the Note 3.
With that HD-Images, the detail amount lies between G4/S6/Note4 and Lumia 1020. (It's like 930 or so...).
But the colour quality of S6 and G4 is slightly better. The S6/G4 also have a little bit less noise than this HD-Images.
So, officially the S5 mini has no MHL support. My question is if there are any kernel options when compiling to enable such support? Any way this is a software issue easily corrected like the OTG-support?
Always
Enviado desde mi iPhone utilizando Tapatalk
There is indeed an option for it and the kernel compiles successfully, but the whole driver was marked as "experimental" which is likely why it never made it into the final builds. I have no MHL cables to debug with either but I'll see if I can get hold of one. That or Samsung might complete the code when stock Lollipop comes out(If that ever even happens)
Always huh.. well there is always the possibility of a relevant IC missing or something.
CurtisMJ I would be thrilled to test it on my 800F using two different brands of MHL cables if you have a kernel I can flash with OTG also enabled.
Also what is the difference between physical hdmi interface and mhl interface? I saw both drivers are options.

Attached is a build of my custom kernel with MHL enabled(I prefer Rashr for flashing). Confirmed bootable. I've enabled all the debugging options for the MHL drivers in the meantime. Not sure about the difference between physical HDMI and the MHL driver. I can only assume one is a virtual device only there for providing protocol support(At least that's usually how it works).
Proceed with caution
Confirmed not working with old style 5-pin mhl adapter. No surprise there. Will try to buy 11 pin tomorrow.
Sent from my SM-G800F using XDA Free mobile app
OTG might need to be toggled via the SysFS switch, but yeah, I wouldn't get my hopes up.
OTG-support for G800F confirmed with kernel from the android development forum.
Sent from my SM-G800F using XDA Free mobile app
Did Any developer realize a working mhl kernel?
I flashed the kernel attached. After that it says "kernel is not seandroid enforcing" and Device don't boot anymore.
Flashing the stock kernel solves the problem.
So I can't use mhl.
I tried also Tu use a kernel with enabled otg, otg works, mhl doesn't.
Thanks

Doesn't seem like unfortunately. I don't have the device anymore but remember that I never really got it working when I had it so I won't be much help.
