Hi!
Ive been trying to pair my brand new Galaxy gear with my Samsung Galaxy s3 Int,
Curent ROM: Cyanogenmod 10.2-20131115-NIGHTLY-i9300
Version: 4.3.1
So i found this apk that should work on any devise for Galaxy gear.
Installed, when i try to pair the device over NFC and Bluetooth i get this message:
Saying; com.samung.andriod.sdk.accessory.ssdkunsup portedException: Device not supported.
I've been trying to search as much as possible at that error message with no results.
Any clues what u should try next ?
(cant really post links yet)
as far as i know, you can't use Gear on custom rom on S3. at least not yet.
i'm using 'official leaked' 4.3 firmware that is bugged and crash a lot, but it works.

Well i was able to connect it with NFC and Bluetooth, so yeah, everything is working atm, Now i'm installing a few apps and see if u run in to something.
Thou kinda whana try lastest Gear manager and see the newer Notifications service..
I'm currently on the Tmobile USA 4.3 TW rom and paired up my Gear with no problems, all functions work properly. I also updated the Gear to the lastest firmware using odin, since the update has not being pushed by samsung here in the US as of yesterday. After updating thru odin, all notifications are being pushed, just remember to also update your Gear Manager app.

There are the page for install galaxy gear manager 1.5...
http://forumxda-developers.blogspot.mx/2013/11/t-mobile-galaxy-s4-42-users-howto-gear.html
FINALLY found a way to get Gear Manager 1.5 working with full notifications on a stock, rooted Galaxy S4. Here's how -
REQUIREMENTS - Null_rom on the Gear, 4.2 stock T-Mobile rooted on your S4. Might work non-rooted, I'm unsure.
1 - Install Null_rom on your Gear (most recent version)
2 - Download the attached .zip file and extract
3 - Install GR.GearManagerStub.apk FIRST. As soon as it's done, reboot your phone and Gear (DO NOT RUN GEAR MANAGER YET)
4 - After rebooting, Install GearManager_1.5.111304.apk
5 - Reboot phone again to be sure.
Start up Gear Manager, pair it, profit.
NOTE: This will wipe and restore your Gear, be aware that although null_rom will continue and you'll stay rooted the sideloaded apps will disappear and need to be reloaded.
https://www.dropbox.com/s/y4w3ciobo1...20Files).zip
I'm using a Dropbox link temporarily to get this out there, but if someone can post a more permanent location for the file I'd appreciate it since I need to delete this one soon. I'll update OP with a new link once someone has it hosted.

Hello! I'm new to XDA Developers, so pardon my noobiness.
Basically, I purchased a galaxy gear off ebay, but my samsung galaxy S3 is only running 4.1.3 as stupid Telstra have not rolled out the 4.3 update for the S3 GT-i9305T. I was able to connect my galaxy gear to it by installing gear manager, and most features work... except the apps. When I try install an app, this error comes up: "Installation Failed. Try again later.(0)" and I have no idea what to do.
Basically what I'm wondering if there is a fix for this, or if it is possibly to somehow install 4.3 if my carrier hasn't rolled it out yet.
Thanks!

I remember reading on this forum (either in this questions sub-forum or in the General sub-forum), others have talked about apps issues with different versions of gear manager. There is a thread in the General sub-forum that talks about different versions of gear manager. You guys might want to look through that thread and see which version of gear manager works best for your needs. I say that because I remember others were saying that the newest version of gear manager is not necessarily the best at keeping all the apps you installed.
good luck guys.

I think your situation may be a little different than OP's. From your sig your gear is rooted with null rom 26 (btw where did you find that, I thought the latest null rom is only 23?), so you would have a custom recovery on your gear already. Then all you need is to load the apks through bluetooth file transfer on to the gear, and intall it from the gear directly, you don't need gear manager at all for this.
As for why your s3 is not recognizing the gear, I am not sure. I had my note 2 on dn3 kitkat with latest gear manager (1.7 something I think) connected to my gear on null 23 rom and everything was working, including bluetooth file transfer, and I was able to install apks by bluetooth file transfer and then install from the gear itself.
Where are apk files saved?

I think the apk files are stored in the download folder or bluetooth/download folder. Sorry can't remember off the top of my head. I just upgraded my gear to Tizen yesterday, so I cannot check.

On my note 2 with dn3 v4 beta 2, the downloaded apks from my playstore are in root/factory, different devices may have it in different name.
If you are talking about apks downloaded from internet or transferred from PC, then it most likely will be in root/sdcard/download folder.

I am not sure why your s3 does not connect to the gear, sorry I cannot help as I do not have a s3. one would think it is capable as I have seen gear with null rom connected to s2 before. Perhaps someone else who has a s3 and gear can chime in and lend a hand here?
One thing though, if you have apk's that you would like on the gear, I would recommend staying with android for now, as Tizen is still too new, and of the few apps thats available, they are all from the official Samsung Store, at the moment we cannot install third party apps without going through Samsung Store on Tizen.

I'm having the same problems. It may be related to the most recent update of the app store. I'm using Gear 2/Galaxy S4. I get this error on some apps, but not all. Shouldn't be so hard to install an app I paid for (and for which I cannot get a refund in the Galaxy apps store).
Edit
Working not sure why, just trial error keep uninstalling reinstalling samsung apps and gear manager, finally works. Weird

I have a new Gear 2 Neo.
I want to install the Samsung App Store on my Razr M, so I can download apps for my Gear 2. But no matter what I do, I can't get it installed.
Has anyone been successful in getting it installed on a non-Samsung device? I read somewhere someone modified the build prop of the app store to spoof a Samsung device. Has anyone done this yet?
As I know, Samsung app store did not install on no Samsung device, you can install tizen mod 3.0 and install many app that it made to install on your gear,

New 5.0.1 update did it change something?
I can't speak for the Gear S, but I have a Gear 1 and it works well with my S5 running on Lollipop.
So Gear Manager is actually LP compatible.
And if it works on an old smartwatch like the Gear 1, I assume it would work (or otherwise very soon) for a completely new smartwatch too.

Gear Manager used to be a full package installer.
Since a few months, the initial package is way smaller.
When the installation starts, it downloads other apps and installs them.
Which packages exactly, I don't know.
So you need to have the full package of apps which are installed by Gear Manager.
I don't have those for you, I'm sorry.

It's actually quite simple :
1, First I removed all apps that was Gear related.
2. Secondly I removed my Gear BT connection, both on phone and on the Gear.
3. Put the phone in Airplane mode or disable internet connection completely (both wifi and mobile data).
4. Then I installed an earlier version op Gear Manager (2.1.14071502) which was one of the last "full" installes before Samsung decided to remove the additional apps in the installer. Also in this version the full preview still worked.
5. Once installed, turn on BT and connect to the Gear. NOT ENABLE INTERNET YET !
6. When it has found the phone and Gear Manager is working, set up the notifications the way you want it. It won't tell you to update to newer version as it doesn't have any internet connection yet. Also make sure you disable automatic update in Gear Manager
7. When everything is set up completely, you can turn on internet connection(s)
8. When opening Gear Manager, it will most likely ask to update (as it now sees that an update is available). It's up to you if you want to update.
The older version has worked on my S5 for some time, but suddenly it stopped transferring the notifications to my Gear.
That's why I updated to latest version.
I hope this works on a Nexus 5, but it did work on my S5.

The older version has worked on my S5 for some time, but suddenly it stopped transferring the notifications to my Gear.
That's why I updated to latest version.
I hope this works on a Nexus 5, but it did work on my S5.
EDIT : screenshots of Gear Manager (latest) working on my S5 : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=57727795&postcount=8

It's not this simple.
You're running the latest S5 SAMSUNG 5.0, so you have lots of stuff in place that others don't. I tried your steps and it failed, it wouldn't even load Gear Manager for me.
For instance, I'm running a Note 4 (T-mobile US) on CM12... There's a big difference in Lollipop on your device and others'. I believe you have the only device that runs official Samsung Lollipop. I've tried loading Galaxy Apps, other touchwiz stuff, and installing Gear Manager many many different ways with no success.

This is pretty much as far as you can get without an official Samsung Lollipop
Ok
Here is the latest version of the GM 2.2.141128 and apk 's all of them, even Saproviders and samsung store pay apk. I used build.prop twicks for S5 and tizen gear1 on a 5.0 lollipop gpe rom.
Unfortunately although GM didn't crash, it got stuck on the hostmanager apk fc.(haven't tryied null rom that uses the older host providers).
