[Q] Cyanogenmod 11 Problems - Xperia SP Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So toady, I tried to install Cyanogenmod 11 on my Xperia SP, model C5036.
The install worked, but now my phone is missing the IMEI and can't activate Wi-Fi.
I would try to factory reset inside of my recovery, but when I try to enter it (camera button on boot), the phone boots normally and the LED on the bottom flashes red.
Some more info:
-Phone was rooted with Towel Root
-Bootloader is locked
-Phone is locked to Bell Canada, if that helps
-I, as an idiot forgot to wipe factory data and clear cache.
-Phone was previously running Sony 4.3
-The phone now lists the model number as C5303
-Cyanogenmod version: 11-20140528-UNOFFICIAL-huashan
ROM used: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2735975&page=51
If you need any more information, I will tell you.

Enter recovery with vol up/down (philz/cwm) buttons.
Missing imei is probably related to the recovery used. Try re-flashing the ROM via cwm, after data/cache/dalvik wipe.
FYI, Newer version of cm11-LBL is available.

I was able to flash the newer version through CWM and now the IMEI is back and my SIM works. The only thing that isn't working now is the Wi-FI; it won't switch on at all. So the only thing I still need help with is the Wi-Fi.

Probably the WiFi module not loading. Have you flashed the .205 kernel? Your model is c5306 and the kernel posted in the OP (of cm 11 thread) is for c5303. I don't know whether flashing that on your phone would be alright (or have you already flashed it?). I don't think it would cause problems...
In any case, try these in a terminal emulator to see whether wifi modules load..
Code:
su
modprobe wlan
Any error? If nothing, run "lsmod" (without quotes) to see which kernel modules are loaded.

No, I haven't flashed it yet..
In Terminal Emulator doing the modprobe command gave me this:
Code:
modprobe: 'wlan.ko': unknown symbol in module or invalid parameter
[Code]
After doing lsmod, I get this:
[Code]
cpufreq_wheatley 7320 0 - Live 0x00000000
cpufreq_lionheart 57110 - Live 0x00000000
texfat 124855 0 - Live 0x00000000 (PO)
cfg80211 135928 - Lie 0x00000000
[Code]
I also used "svc wifi enable" but it just said "Killed" after.
Am I supposed to get these?

Looks like wlan.ko is not loading (??symbol mismatch..). The solution I can think of is to flash the given .205 kernel and hope it works!

So I flashed the .205 kernel in Androxyde's flash tool. When I booted up the phone, the phone turned off twice at the boot animation, but I don't think that did anything, as it still works.
The Wi-Fi now says "Turning Wi-Fi on..." but it just stays like that. I also noticed that running lsmod (su command does nothing) it says "cfg80211 135928 1 wlan, Live 0x00000000" instead of "cfg80211 135928 - Live 0x00000000" and new string "wlan 2702117 0 - Live 0x00000000 (0)".
Also, the IMEI is gone again, even after reflashing CM through cwm multiple times.
Should I just use a different ROM other than CM11?

Wlan.ko seems to load with .205 kernel. For the missing imei, the possible "solutions" mentioned by users in other threads are..
* Flashing ROM with a different recovery (TWRP seems to have the least imei problems).
* Do a backup in cwm and restore it (weird of course) - it also fixed Wi-Fi problems for some.
For some people, this imei missing thing is random! If nothing works, may try a different ROM. Maybe can flash/restore a stock based rom to get TWRP recovery, and then flash cm11-LBL via TWRP.

I restored my phone back to Sony 4.3 and re-installed CM11. Wi-Fi now works but no IMEI still.
I also can't access TWRP after installing cm11-LBL; only PhilZ and CWM are accessible. This has happened both times installing it.
Do you have any ROMs that you can recommend to me in case we can't fix this? The reason why I wanted to update to CM11 was because Sony's 4.3 had far too many bugs and lagged too much.

Cm11-lbl doesn't have TWRP. I meant, to use TWRP to flash while on a stock based ROM. Anyway, I'm now using PA rom for LBL : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2789320
It's a very nice ROM.
Need to flash it (build #3) via cwm. If no imei, making a cwm backup and restoring it is the working solution.

I flashed PA build #4 in TWRP and IMEI and baseband is still missing like in CM11. I did the backup and restore fix in CWM but it's still missing.
IMEI and baseband does show up normally in Sony 4.3, just not custom roms.
So, I have tried SlimKat, CM11-LBL and PA build #4. All show missing IMEI and basebands.

Strange! Imei missing issue is fixed in build 4. Only old cwm is not compatible. One issue mentioned about TWRP is that, doing a /system format manually before flashing creates problems.
I suggest to go through PA OP carefully and flash build 4 with newest recoveries (Philz confirmed working). Should work!

I already have flashed the newest version of dssmex's recoveries before flashing build 4.
So, this is what I did:
1. Factory reset to 4.3 through Flashtool
2. Re-root with Towelroot
3. Install newest recoveries by dssmex
4. Enter TWRP, factory reset, clear dalvik and cache and flash PA/4.4 ROM and then GApps
5. Power off, enter flashmode (green LED) and flash .205 kernel with Flashtool
6. Reboot, and 4.4 ROM boots up normally with Wi-Fi working, IMEI and baseband missing.
Is there anything that I'm doing wrong?

Steps are correct. Try flashing build #4 with Philz. Many have confirmed it's working with Philz (checkout the responses in PA thread). If still not working, I don't know what's going on .
Edit: just thinking.. whether c5303 kernel is causing an issue on your c5306 phone?? (You got your imei once but Wi-Fi modules didn't load while on stock 4.3 (c5306) kernel + cm-11 ROM no?). Can test this by flashing the given c5303_205 stock kernel (which is meant for cm-11/PA) while on your imei working 4.3 (c5306_205) stock ROM. If imei issue crops up, then we know it's the cause.
OR if you're now on PA/Slim/cm-11-lbl (and no imei), other thing you can do to test is flash a c5306_205 stock kernel while on that custom ROM. If imei appears, it's clear that the different kernel is causing the issue (but, expect Wi-Fi modules not to load!)
*Hope I'm not confusing you.. if you're not fed-up of this issue yet ()and interested on testing things, just save all the .ko files found in /system/lib/modules of your working stock 4.3 ROM to somewhere (sdcard), so can try those later with c5306 kernel + custom ROM. (But I have no idea whether it will work).
But first thing is to make sure that flashing PA build #4 with Philz doesn't solve the issue
@others
Any idea why this strange imei issue??

Yeah, flashing with PhilZ still doesn't fix IMEI.
This isn't confusing for me, so I'll let you know about these tomorrow, but two things:
- I can't find the C5306 kernel, is leaving the kernel the way it is (not flashing C5303) fine?
- To re-install .ko files do I just place them in that same directory with a file manager?
EDIT: Yup, flashing .205 kernel for C5303 on stock 4.3 erases IMEI.

-yes, leave the c5306 kernel as it is (don't flash c5303 kernel after custom ROM flashing, just reboot).
So, what you can do is, flash eg. PA build #4 with Philz, while on c5306_205 kernel/ROM (working imei), and reboot without flashing c5303 kernel. Hope imei not missing!
Then, if Wi-Fi not working, try copying those 4.3 .ko files to the same place (overwrite) and make sure file permissions are 644 (rw-r--r--). Reboot, hope Wi-Fi works! (Not sure about that really.. ). Try modprobe and lsmod commands to see what's happening..

The IMEI appeared when I flashed PA with C5306 kernel, but I haven't done the Wi-Fi fix yet.

If you have time, can read the section 6 in the following link, to have an idea why kernel modules won't load if the base kernel is different.
http://www.tldp.org/HOWTO/html_single/Module-HOWTO/
Copy those matching 4.3 .ko files (and set perms) and see what happens..

Thank you so, so much! wlan.ko from 4.3 fixed it. PA is now running with both SIM and Wi-Fi working.

Installed bagyuz's CM11 on locked bl recently. Loving it.
Just set ART, and now dolphin seems to fly instead of swimming.
Issues I need help with:
a. How do one lock the 5 buttons (on homescreen) above the nav bar?
b. the quick launch button (the one you get when you swipe up the home button) - I get the same 3 buttons on locked and unlocked screen. I can't seem to activate the quick launch for locked screen...

[Q] Unable to start WiFi after flashing CWM 6.0.2.8 and 6.0.3.1 on custom JB ROM

Hello All,
I am on stock v4.1.2, flashed myself.
Now I want to move on to custom ROM.
My current stock ROM is rooted, and I have also unlocked my bootloader.
Now when I want to install custom ROM, I need to flash CWM, and when I do (tried v6.2.8 and v6.0.3.1), and install any ROM, my WiFi becomes unresponsive (failed to turn on). When I flash V20A back, everything turns normal.
I also gone through http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2180138&page=43, and install the unsecure boot image after installing CWM 6028, but this make my custom rom hang on startup (on bootload screen).
Kindly help me out.
I have search a lot in the P880 forum, and didn't find any help regarding to this problem.

i dont understand what the recovery has to do with the wifi. recovery is just an interface to easy install something, copy paste , edit , change permissions , etc , things we do using adb commands. it is just an environment. its something else u are doing wrong there.
<EDIT> yea i saw the thread on your link. others seem to have same problem but with the unsecure boot. why do u need unsecure boot if the bootloader is unlocked ? just install teamwin recovery or cwm recovery and the rom u want.

Well, I did. And it all went fine, and I am able to install various custom ROMs, and after I install custom ROM, my WiFi becomes unresponsive. I am completely at lost. I also tried MIUI v5 which is non-CM10.2 based, and it also showed the same issue.
Here are my steps to install a custom ROM.
- Currently I am on my V20A stock ROM.
- Root the stock ROM using the All-In-One-Toolkit v1.4.1
- Flush the CWM 6031 using ADB as
Code:
su
cat /mnt/sdcard/recovery.img > /dev/block/mmcblk0p1
sync
- After reboot, my device has the CWM.
- Copy custom ROM zip files to my device, and reboot to recovery
- Wipe out by data and cache
- Install ROM
thats it
And when I boot into the new custom ROM, my WiFi do not work.
Please help.

I did wipe the data and cache after installing the custom ROM. But the result is the same; No WiFi response.
However, I always copy my custom ROMs by mounting my phone through USB to my Win8 laptop, and then copy the ROM file through windows explorer. And then install the ROM from the CWN recovery. Thus do not use ADB for copying files, or installing custom ROM as mentioned above. If this is the main issue reason, then advice.
Also I haven't tried TWRP till yet. Will do now. Till then, what else I can do.
Thanks for the quick replies.
i dont know what else you may doing wrong then. one was the insecure boot which is useless since u have unlocked the bootloader and the other that u had flash older version of cwm recovery. maybe compatibility issue with that version of cwm rec ? test and see.
format system also, when installing a new rom, not just data, cache & dalvik

One piece of detail I missed to mentioned in my case previously was that, I unlocked my phone using the method mentioned in the thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2263627 as I was unable to unlock using the official method.
After I unlock my bootloader, I have flashed V20A KDZ several times, and each time the SW Upd mode show me that my bootloader status is unlocked. Thus after first attempt of unlocking, I never came across need to unlocked my bootloader again as each time when I do the KDZ flash, I get the bootloader status as unlocked. And after each flash of KDZ, I was able to install CWM and custom ROMs, and boot into them successfully.
Is this something causing the issue?

sorry , personally i dont know what else u may doing wrong there . and no it doesnt matter which way u unlock the phone, but since u unlock it , it stays that way until u lock it.
at least stock rom is working fine ? if that works fine there, then just install only custom kernel, do your tweaks, install another launcher and then delete the default, etc. u can do any modification u like to the stock one to make it look and work the way u want it.

Does it help if I installed a custom kernel on my custom ROM (with WiFi issue). My understanding is that the WiFi driver is compiled inside the kernel. So changing the kernel might reduce the issue. What do you think? If yes, then kindly advice me on which kernel should I install on my till now custom ROM MIUI v5 http://en.miui.com/download-79.html.

a developer would never release a rom in public with wifi issues by default and since i have already tested all roms available before i end up to one, i can say that they all worked , but only had small bugs on homescreen. really i dont know what you are doing wrong and not even a teamviewer connection wouldnt help in this case. but on stock your phone works fine ? only in a custom rom u have this issue ?
<<EDIT>> did you also do a full format before going to another rom ? there is a choice in teamwin recovery ( dont know if its in cwm also ) to format data. careful i dont mean to wipe everything you see because you will remove the recovery too and u will have to flash it back. the format option deletes everything besides the recovery. if you dont format before you go to a totally different rom, then you maybe have issues. especially when going from stock to custom, differences are huge. you must format before flashing. and dont forget the gapps, if they are not inluded in rom. ( in your case miui there must have them inside, because i see its 256 mb+)

YES. When I flashed stock V20A, I never had issues with Wifi. Its when I install custom ROM, and any custom ROM.
So I suppose, either there is something wrong in my installing method, or in my stock ROM that won't allow WiFi to work on any custom ROM. But how much influential will be the stock ROM if it is being replaced by a custom ROM?
Well, I haven't formated before I install any custom ROM, as it was not instructed in the forums. But I will do that now, and let you know the results shortly.
Thanks again for the replies.

What?????
Why would wiping your /data folder on internal storage delete your custom ROMs? Surely you keep them on your external SD-Card?

So you are saying that, I copy them to external_sd, and then do the data format. Ok ... Will do and let you know.
BTW, I also found V20B. I will start with this stock rom instead of V20A. This might improves some thing.

AT LAST .... FIXED ...
I did two things, V20B, and format /system, /data before installing new ROM. So my steps were:
1) Flush V20B instead of V20A
2) After rooting, and installed CWM 6044 touch, copy custom ROM MIUI to external SDCARD
3) Reboot into recovery, and format /system, /data, and /cache partitions
4) Install custom ROM from external SDCARD
5) Wipe data and cache
6) Reboot into the new world
:good: formatting did the work sorry i didnt think of it earlier.

Need help bricked phone :(

i recently flashed the eXistenZ Ultra 2, and im sure i did everything fine, after flashing the rom in recovery and flashing suprsu and wifi fix, i powered off the phone, and powered on but sony logo has apeared until now , and welcoming`s sounding 999..times. i cant turn it off, or i should say i cant do anything.
please help,
After flashing ROM and the fixes you should flash the 12.1.A.0.266 Firmware with FlashTool!
If problem still persists:
http://xda-university.com/as-a-user/how-to-recover-from-a-bootloop
Take a look at this site A recovery would be quite useful, but I think the kernel of eXistenZ ROM has one. If not, you'll find one in the development section. Otherwise, use the ADB as solution.
Good luck
Thanx for the post!
I used force shut down and then flash the 254 rom, and did all those things, and the problem occured again.
does the recovery software have to be the touch recovery? I use CWM v6 that enables with volume +.
and i use SuperSU fix.zip rather than superUser.zip and generally i flash rom, supersu fix.zip and wifi fix.zip. i flashed those three, before first booting, do i have to boot first before flashing wifi fix.zip?

I think you need to flash 12.1.A.0.266 instead of 12.0.A.2.254 after flashing ROM. You could also wipe data, cache and dalvik cache, reflash eXistenZ ROM and SuperSU fix (or SuperUser but SuperSU should be ok), shut down the phone with the option in recovery and then flash the 12.1.A.0.266 with FlashTool.
It doesn't matter which recovery you take. Use the one you like best. I'm not quite sure, but to go sure, please flash the wifi fiz.zip after first boot up!

but ive got some new problems:
1. performance, when i click on performance, it closes unexpectedly and says it has stopped.

You're welcome
1. Do you have SuperSU installed? On AOKP ROM I'm running it asked for superuser permission for ROM Control (the control center implemented in the settings of the ROM). Maybe it'll ask you if SuperSU is installed. Otherwise, because it is after the first boot it needs to rebuild cache and so on.. If problem persists after reboot, just use an other clock speed controler (No-frills CPU, SetCPU..)
2. If you did that at the same time, maybe Go Backup didn't really backup your data. Try again, if it doesn't work and if you have a nandroid backup (backup from recovery) you can go into recovery, then to advanced restore and restore data. Otherwise your data is unfortunately gone I think :/
PS: I prefer Titanium Backup

Phone won't boot

So, I've just unlocked the bootloader on my Z1. Followed the instructions on the Sony website and it went off without a hitch. I then followed the instructions on the Cyanogenmod website to install the boot.img from the ROM file. This also seemed to to proceed without issue and I was able to boot the phone into recovery mode.
Unfortunately it all went wrong from here as whenever I install a ROM, I can't seem to get the phone to boot up, it hangs at the boot animation. I've tried various different ROMs and they all do the same thing. I've tried installing various stock ROMs and flashing the FTF file but that doesn't work either. I've even tried restoring it using the PC Companion software but it won't do anything because it says the software is modified and won't update it.
I don't suppose anyone would have any ideas? Perhaps someone with a more technical knowledge of such things?
What program are you using to flash the FTF files?
Are you using the ones for your model?
Did you buy your phone used or was it new?
Try this to get CM on the Z1
There is no official stable build on the CM website.
Also, if you flash other ROMS whilst you have a CM kernel, you will get a bootloop unless the Roms are based on that kernel.
Follow the links in the thread I gave you to download a CM11 build (Android 4.4) and then you can just flash the update.zip in recovery.
Job done.
Seems odd, that even flashing FTF files didn't help... Weird stuff.
Try flashing Cyanogenmod again, but performing full data wipe.
Does the cm boot animation hang and like not move or just spin forever and is actually moving?

I bought it brand new, was using Flashtool. I was using the correct ones for my model (C6903).

CM and some other ROMs don't hang, it just carries on animating indefinitely.
I have noticed that recovery seems to have some issues though. When I do a wipe on CWM, it says "error mounting \data" and something else as well.
You can try manually flashing /data
Do you know how to install TWRP recovery?
I remember writing a guide of formatting the partitions manually (adb shell) via mkfs.f2fs (in that case, f2fs), but it can be done the same way with mkfs.ext4
If you have problems with /data partition you definitely should wipe it. As suggested above, the manual method might work the best for you, and it is as follows:
Boot into recovery and make sure you have adb working and your computer recognizes your device. Then use this commands, pressing enter at the end of each line. I remember using them myself, so this should work:
adb shell
recovery --wipe_data
Notice double - in the second line. Write precisely as above and after that reboot. With a little bit of luck your phone will boot into Cyanogen.
If that method doesn't work (I really don't know, but I'm sure this would work better), try this one:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=51517202&postcount=542
And change every part that says f2fs to ext4, so it gets like this:
Go to recovery (TWRP) and then go to command input:
cd /dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/
mkfs.ext4 -l cache cache
mkfs.ext4 -l data userdata
mkfs.ext4 -l system system
Now set in advanced settings to "rm -rf instead of wipe" and then wipe data and internal storage

[i9000] CM11 (4.4.4) Baseband Unknown, Wi-Fi Grayed out, No sim service

Hey guys, seems that the latest builds of CM11 (4.4.4) have the same problems on my phone.
Country: Romania (Europe)
- I have an i9000 with CWM Recovery 6.0.4.7
- I'm trying to flash CM11 4.4.4 (last i tried: cm-11-20140729-NIGHTLY-galaxysmtd) from CM11 4.4.2 (cm-11-2014-02-28--NIGHTLY-galaxysmtd -> XXJVU)
- I did WipeData/FactoryReset, Wipe Cache, Wipe DalvikCache and Format /System, after that I flashed "cm-11-20140729-NIGHTLY-galaxysmtd" (CM11-4.4.4), and flashed GAPPS for 4.4.2 (i tried with 4.4.3 too), and reboot (i get no errors)
- The ROM boots up and everything seems to be okay besides the fact that i have no sim service (no signal bars, or pin code pop-up checker at startup), at "About Phone" i get "Baseband version Unknown", Wi-Fi is grayed and it's freezed ("Turning Wi-Fi on..." forever), Bluetooth it's not grayed out, but once i enable it, the "on" button goes gray and it does nothing, also when i go to "About Phone" -> "Status", the Settings app crashes.
I tried to flash a stock radio/modem (XXJVT, XXJVU) in hope that would fix the problem but no change.
I tried to do another wipedata/factoryreset, wipe cache, wipe dalvik after installing the rom and gapps and cleared the data and cache for "Settings" app and others but still with no succes in fixing something.
I tried the M8 build and other close nightlies, all seem to have the same problem.
If i flash my old rom back, everything is working perfect.
HELP! Any solutions to this?
Thank you guys in advance!
I had the same problem yesterday. Try to re-install the ROM. If it still doesn't work then flash a stock ROM (JW4) with Odin and then install 4.4.4 again. The last one worked for me.

After you flashed the stock firmware (JW4 aka GingerBread 2.3.6) what and how did you flash a recovery that is able to install CM11 4.4.4 Roms?
EDIT (FIXED IT):
This solved the issues that i talked about in the main post
I was on CM11 4.4.2, entered recovery and did full wipe
- I flashed stock firmware for i9000 Sweden (JW4 Gingerbread 2.3.6) via Odin
- I flashed root for it wich included a cwm recovery 3.0.0.x
- Entered the recovery which the root installed and did a full wipe
- Flashed directly "cm-11-20140729-NIGHTLY-galaxysmtd", after which the phone rebooted in a different cwm recovery (6.0.5.0) and installed the rom and rebooted again
- After reboot, the phone booted directly in the new cwm recovery 6.0.5.0, and i did a full wipe
- Flashed again "cm-11-20140729-NIGHTLY-galaxysmtd" and "gapps-kk-20140606" and now the rom (cm11 4.4.4) works perfect with no more problems
Thanks to kalpetros that initiated me in solving my problem with his solving solution (http://forum.xda-developers.com/member.php?u=5359865)

CM10.2 contains such recovery. On your place I would flash stock JVU to get for sure last Gingerbread bootloader (JWx don't contain it). As your system and data partitions have been resized you MUST flash together with firmware also the PIT file 512 and enable repartition in Odin, use version 1.82 or 1.83 for that and run it as administrator.
Safer way for not to loose IMEI anymore is to upgrade stepwise (GB,ICS,JB,KK) so first CM9, then CM10.2, then CM11

[Q] Wi fi and Bluetooh Enable gt-i9295

helloooo*, how are you? hope fine, my name is eduard, and it is my first time on this forum maybe my English is not the best (for I speak Spanish and I had to resort to google translator, I hope I can understand) I tell my problem, makes time gave me a free s4 active gt i9294 factory, was well until one day I decided, root, and flasharle one rom (super wiz cyan) made him their full wipe before putting everything marched well durantes a month but one day wifi and bluetooth not work more, stay in dark green and not light. restart the phone but without getting changes, flash with odin other firmware kk (I9295VJUCNG1_I9295ZTOCNG1_ZTO, I9295XXUCNK4_I9295NEECNL1_NEE and I9295XXUCNE5_I9295PHNCNE1_I9295XXUCNE5_HOME that currently use compatibility with custom rom, super wiz cyan) of SamMobile but with changes that lasted for hours and again returned wifi and bluetooth to decompose Eh I read in many forums looking for a definitive solution, eh tested
1. Root your phone*
2. Download Root Explorer.apk, put it on your phone via USB, install it*
3. navigate to either / data / misc / wifi or / system / etc / wifi*
4. rename or delete wpa_supplicant.conf*
5. reboot but
nothing works.
Also try putting it in airplane mode or turn it off and restart it again reboot but rarely works, watch a video on youtube , where there is a solution (since this problem it is very common in the samsung) where it is solved by flash ( WiFi FIX Script.rar ), the problem is that this solution is for the s4 gt i9500 / 9505, can anyone adapt this solution for gt i9295? or if anyone knows any other solution please

Ok There seems to be some corruption with your data and further details are needed in order to help you out
- Did you install / update any new apps or restore data from backup through CWM / titanium backup before the problem with wifi & bluetooth started.
- Also before flashing the 3 different firmwares listed by you, did you wipe data / factory reset. Flashing firmware retains the data without deleting it and if you did not do a Factory reset then the problem will continue.

It looks OK. if after the factory reset and flashing firmware CNE5, bluetooth and wifi does not work, then try the following
- Backup of internal SD card
- Go to Settings -> Backup and Restore -> Factory data reset
If the above does not work then there seems to be some other issue other than the software

I'll try again though From what I've seen on the Internet'm not the only one with this problem.
possible solutions?:
1 "that the issue is with the core, which control communication HW / OS, That it is some kind of HW Error, Given That neither stock or custom ROMs make any difference "
2 "If it gets stuck on" turning on "then ITS most likely to a system error .this is common in the community rooting the wifi if the file system Incorrectly was written) I have no idea how yours Became corrupt. "
3 "apparently some Kernel eliminates the problem"
4 "Instead Cyanogen ROM based Helps in every aspect."
question:
1. I saw a video on youtube "How to Fix Problems Android Wifi - Samsung Galaxy S4 - All Samsung phones [HD]" ( https: //www. youtube .com /watchv=26kFIPQ_WMY ) to s4 i9500) to flash zip:
"Modem wifi fix - Custom Kernel (Faux for S4) - Source for kernel and modem file"
by cwm this problem was solved, there is something similar for the gt-i9295?
2. I remembered that before you can successfully root (withmythi_cwm_swipe_3050.tar), use F-Auto-Root-jflte-jfltexx- gti9505.zip and Towel Root, root checker installed, checked "this device does not have any adequate root access", can it be that this is one of the reasons why not to start wifi bluetooth and corrupt data?
you know anything about this?
also come to think that could be installed applications eh: duu battery mod, greenify, FPSE, whatsapp uninstall but no difference. I have a theory that it is a software issue (although I have my doubts), sometimes the bluetooth symbol appears repeatedly seconds Qusiera turn blinking like that but something prevents you from starting,
I found this I found interesting and copy a fragment
Quote:
"3. Provide a proper wpa_supplicant.conf for your device
Providing a wpa_supplicant.conf it's important because the control
socket for android is specified in this file (ctrl_interface= ). This file
should be copied by your AndroidBoard.mk to
$(TARGET_OUT_ETC)/wifi (usually
/system/etc/wifi/wpa_supplicant.conf ). This location will be used
on wpa_supplicant service from init.rc.
There are two different ways in which wpa_supplicant can be
configured, one is to use a "private" socket in android namespace,
created by socket_local_client_connect() function in wpa_ctrl.c
and another is by using a standard unix socket.
Minimum required config options in wpa_supplicant.conf :
- Android private socket
ctrl_interface=wlan0
update_config=1
- Unix standard socket
5ctrl_interface=DIR=/data/system/wpa_supplicant GROUP=wifi
update_config=1
Depending on your driver you might also want to add:
ap_scan=1
If you have AP association problems with should change to
ap_scan=0 to let the driver do the association instead of
wpa_supplicant.
Seems that you can add ap_scan=1 to your wpa_supplicant.conf
depending on the drivers you have.
After some more research on the subject of ap_scan i found that:
# AP scanning/selection
# By default, wpa_supplicant requests driver to perform AP
scanning and then
# uses the scan results to select a suitable AP. Another alternative
is to
# allow the driver to take care of AP scanning and selection and
use
# wpa_supplicant just to process EAPOL frames based on IEEE
802.11 association
# information from the driver.
# 1: wpa_supplicant initiates scanning and AP selection
# 0: driver takes care of scanning, AP selection, and IEEE 802.11
association
# parameters (e.g., WPA IE generation); this mode can also be
used with
# non-WPA drivers when using IEEE 802.1X mode; do not try to
associate with
# APs (i.e., external program needs to control association). This
mode must
# also be used when using wired Ethernet drivers.
# 2: like 0, but associate with APs using security policy and SSID
(but not
# BSSID); this can be used, e.g., with ndiswrapper and NDIS
driver to
# enable operation with hidden SSIDs and optimized roaming; in
this mode,
# only the first network block in the configuration file is used and
this
# configuration should have explicit security policy (i.e., only one
option
# in the lists) for key_mgmt, pairwise, group, proto variables
It seems that addind ap_scan=1 imposes that
wpa_supplicant.conf handles the scanning and AP selection. IF
there's something wrong with the driver, and not with
wpa_supplicant as i originaly thought, this could bypass the
problem.
So I added ap_scan=1 just before the device identification lines in
wpa_supplicant.conf, reeboted, and now the wifi and bluetooth
toggle normaly. I've tried ap_scan=0 (the driver handles the
scanning) and the problem returns, so ap_scan=1 does allow you
to toggle the wifi and BT on."

The Modem wifi Fix is not required for stock rom when you flash the entire firmware. It is only required if you have a different modem from the one in the firmware on stock rom or for custom roms.

goodnight, try flashing Philz based on CWM 6.0.5.1 but not progressing in odin seems locked and fails to finish installed

the bluetooth symbol (flashing) per second without activated, prevents something that is completely active appears. but if I turn off (manually) repeatedly wifi and bluetooth works, and then after a day or if the cell is reset fails
1) every time I am more sure it's not a hardware problem and that is a system error with rooting wifi, maybe the filesystem was written incorrectly, corrupting the path (creating a problem of association) causing the bootloader can not load properly. what do you think? you have any idea?
2) maybe back to the original firmware (4.2.2 JB I9295XXUBML3 Stock ROM) can be repaired?

Yes, it would seem to be a software problem
For kernel you need to install KT-SGS4-KK4.4-TW-eur-01.12.2015.zip and not the one listed by you above
You cannot go back to 4.2.2 once you have upgraded to 4.4.2
Try the following steps that should solve issues with software
1. Format Data
2. Flash entire firmware PHN-I9295XXUCNE5-20140527111402.zip
3. Reboot into ROM
4. Flash Recovery with Odin
5. Flash SuperSU
6. Setup the phone manually. Do not restore system data with Titanium backup or any other. You can use super backup for backup and restore of Contacts, call logs, SMS and calendar.

after flashing your rom into cwm mode, try flashing again (KT-SGS4-KK4.4-TW-eur-01.12.2015) "E: can t open / storage / sd1 card / KT-SGS4-KK4.4-TW -eur-12.01.2015 "unsuccessfully, that may be?
Now I'm downloading PHN-I9295XXUCNE5-20140527111402.zip
1) eh noticed that when flash stock rom (before Flashar stock rom realize full wipe format including firmware) and entered odin mode and shows these values
odin mode
production name: gt-i9295
current Bynari: custom
system status: custom
knox kernel lock: 0x0
csb-confg-lsb: 0x30 swaev bootloader ap: 1
write protection: enable emmc enable burst mode
that says "custom" if I did a thorough cleaning before you install stock rom? Is this normal?

This may not be true, in order to get rid of my not working touchscreen in CWM or TWRP i flashed today the factory firmware 4.2.2 (after clean/wipe) and after reboot and going through the TWsetup wizard (skipping everything like Google and Samsung account) it started OTA and installed 4.4.2 on itself.
Not that it helped me get rid of my issue, but just FYI.
