Notifications DPI settings - Samsung Galaxy Gear

Hi,
I want to change the screen resolution of notifications to a less larger screen so more text will fit on the screen.
I'm on NULL_23 and have Xposed App Settings installed.
I tried changing the "messages" to different dpi setting, but it stays the same.
Anyone know how I need to set the dpi settings ?
EDIT : Never mind, I was on the correct path with the Xposed App Settings but ofcourse I need to enable the module otherwise it won't work

How to remove brightness slider from notification panel

half the notification panel is unusable. unless im missing something there appears to be no way to remove the brightness slider. i know it was a setting on my note3. also cant find a way to remove the stupid s-finder and quick connect buttons. please tell me im missing a setting somewhere for these. they are a giant waste of space.

That's correct. There is no way to remove it unless you do some modding. Stupid move they took out that option. What were the DA's thinking!?
It's not a solution, but when using Lux Brightness to control auto-brightness, it has a module show up in the notifications pull-down. It did remove the stock slider, though I haven't gained any space.
However I do prefer Lux when it comes to brightness control (set to Dynamic) and their module at least is more informative than the stock one.
I'm also not sure if the phone can go into the overbright mode any longer but I've never had outdoor visibility issues.
I was actually able to get rid of it without modding by installing Lux Auto Brightness & using it to manage my brightness. Once I set it up the Samsung one in the notification panel disappeared. Also, with Lux, you can have it set to not show in the notification panel, which is what I've done.
If you root and install xposed framework, you can disable the S planner portion, but no luck with brightness yet.
Which module or option under xposed framework did you use to get rid of the s finder and quick connect?
Thanks

Download wanam xposed from play store. Then it's in notifications.
Here is the option. Among many.
For some reason i dont see that option for my wanam xposed
....
Sorry figured it out. I installed wanam from xposed itself. Need to go to the playstore and upgrade the program from there.
He's right. Installing LUX does remove the stock brightness bar but the thing is, the LUX bar isn't all that pretty either...

In the Lux settings you can disable their bar once it's there.

Changing DPI settings (almost prefect)

OK to start I am not a fan of the stock dpi of any of my phones (I feel they make everything too big).
Coming from a note 3 I pretty much know which apps to keep at stock dpi so the app doesn't break or look weird and found a few more for the note 4. But this time around a few got me scratching my head.
I changed my android system and system ui DPI to 320 using app settings from xposed
Corrected the apps that need to run at 640
Everything's great except
- recent apps when you press the button, dpi stays small.
Anyone have an idea of what apps I might have missed changing back to stock?
made thread for it

I posted this in a different dpi thread, but for the lockscreen, change keyguard back to 640. You'll need to do a full reboot for it to take effect (app settings killing app doesn't work). I also set it to include widgets in the app settings screen but I'm too lazy to check if that's needed or not.
No idea about recent apps.

Odd - I just double checked the settings I have for com.android.keyguard in App Settings and the only changes I made are:
- DPI: 640
- Checked the 'Apply res to widgets' box
It didn't change on killing app but did work after a full reboot. My lockscreen with fingerprint on looks perfect with lcd_density in build.prop set to 480.
I changed the dpi of the phone to 480 and modified the problem apps back to 640. So far everything looks good except the popup for symbols on the keyboard (the window that pops up when you press and hold a key on the keyboard). Keyboard was set to 640. Anyone know what I need to change to correct this?

i thought i replied back to you already but i guess it didnt sennd on my phone.
i missed checking apply res to widgets lol. didnt even notice and have forgotten before without problems.
Thanks, 480 worked for me! I'll probably end up switching to swiftkey in the future, but for now I'm trying to determine how important the floating keyboard is for me

no problem,
its why i kept it in the past put i got over it after i switched but its easy to switch back when you need it. when your in the text field and the keyboard pops up just pull down your notification bar (which i have programmed as a home swipe up) and click 'choose input method' and switch at will. just make sure you have the keyboards in question active.
any updates on the fix for recent apps? everything looks good on my phone at 420 DPI except the recent apps - not sure which app to reset to 640 dpi

Lockscreen DPI

I changed my DPI systemwide to 560. The dialer, lockscreen and camera become off set. So I downloaded app settings through xposed and changed dialer and camera DPI back to 640 and solved the off set issue. However I can't find the actual file/app name for the lockscreen. There's 100s of system files/apps to choose from. Does anyone know what the actual lockscreen is called. For example com.android.security or something like that. If anyone knows it would be great. I don't want to edit 300 systems apps one by one until I fix my lockscreen. I've tried apps simular to security but nothing changes my lockscreen DPI back to 640.
It should be keyguard if memory serves me right
That was like the second or third one i tried. Didnt fix it

You were right. Thanks. there was 2 different keyguard entries and both together solved the problem

RESOLVED: Found another thread that talks about this and has the fix --> Make sure that "Apply res to widgets" is CHECKED in com.android.keyguard along with DPI 640 AND reboot. There is only one entry and not two. It is com.android.keyguard. See link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/not...anging-note-4-dpi-settings-to-change-t2923408
Hi budco2000, I am having the same problem as you on the lockscreen once I changed my system wide DPI.
Using Xposed's App Settings, I can only find one entry of keyguard (com.android.keyguard) and not the second one like you mentioned. I tried different keywords like "key", "guard", "pin", "lock" and still not able to find the second keygurad entry. So, my lockscreen's PIN pad is still not aligned.
Can you please tell me what's the second entry you are referring to, please? I am using the same T-Mobile's Note 4 on AT&T
Thanks

Can't open options because dpi set too high

I was testing the new dpi setting on Android 7.0 and i put the dpi to 600. Then options crashed and doesn't open anymore. Everything else works fine. I don't want to keep my dpi at 600 so please help.
Reset factory settings
Hi
No need to reset.
slide down notification panel-> long hold on wifi or BT-> after u get in wifi menu swipe from left to right from phone left border.
U will get settings on half screen. Go to delevoper settings and change DPI.
how does dpi settings survive boot in Oreo on p9 AL10? thx

How to change the dpi on this device?

How do you change the dpi on this device?
I've tried the minimum width in developer options, but it does nothing with nav bar, quick icons and the home screen generally.
Even tried with arb but still the same result. It's like having an old iPhone with this home screen. It's way to big...
Anyone have a solution for the this?

Switch launchers? I don't believe there is a solution whilst using stock launcher.
I'm using nova launcher and still have the same problem.

In Nova you can adjust the padding width and height and also change the icons size and the whole desktop grid size. What else do you need?

Looks like more an issue with the system size itself, notification tray etc which doesn't seem to resize when choosing a different view size in the settings.
Anyone tried changing the dpi with an app that need root access? I mean root the phone and then change the dpi.

Alright, then I'm not sure it's possible.
You can always swipe up from the corner

Anyone who can confirm this is a problem on emui 8.0, I didn't have the chance to check it because I just got my phone and updated right away to 8.1
Did anyone try changing the dpi after rooting the phone? With an app maybe that require root access?
Go to devolves options and you can change DPI
Works with all Android

^^ yes. I changed the DPI in developer options. Running 449 and much better than the huge icons and text layout that comes stock.
I did that and it doesn't change the entire system, it only changes the settings and keyboard, not everything.

In Settings, Display, View mode, you can set the slider to 'Small' rather than Default or Large, and that may do what you want.
Was going to buy a p20 pro, but if the smallest width setting is different to stock, then it is now crossed off my list
Can change, but the home screen, most of the apps, quick launch won't change... In my phone all that changes is keyboard "SwiftKey" and settings.. Nothing else...
In display settings the view mode settings changes the dpi. Use a smaller setting to increase dpi and vise versa.

Wow .. that is surprising and very disappointing. I really need 600dp "smallest width" setting to setup my phone. Thanks for replying. Will not be buying a P20 Pro
If you change the view mode you automatically changing the way apps display their content. Larger dpi = smaller content = more things on screen. It's an easy change throught menu.

I need 600dpi to set my phone in tablet mode ... for example, gmail app will display differently and chrome will have small tabs at the top of the windows like on the desktop version. Can this be done with the P20 Pro without rooting?
Is there some way when changing DPI the "notification bar" (on top of the phone) stays intact? Because the Notch is owerlaping the screan. So Notch is in the way.
