Press and hold Volume down + Home key

I don't have my P970 in front of me right now, but that always seemed to work with CWM.

Hi,
few days ago i decide to try namelessROM. So far i was using IZS v2 (Android 4.0.4) baseband v30. I have some time to test it and want to share my experience.
Version 20140629-p970-WEEKLY
- Flight mode, if you deactivate flight mode mobile network wont connect automaticly, wifi will normaly connect (workaround is to switch mobile network mode). catog:View attachment 2014-06-29-flightmode.txt
- USSD code, if i try to check my credit status by executing USSD code it will stuck in progress forever with no resul. catog: View attachment 2014-06-29-ussdcode.txt
- SuperSU, stop working (supersu stopped working dialog) after update from 20140627 to 20140629, reboot wont help. catog: View attachment 2014-06-29-supersu.txt
- Mass storage, SD card file writing speed is only 2 MB/s (class 10 SD card with writing speed in PC reader 14MB/s), reading speed is OK about 16 MB/s (in PC reader 18 MB/s)
- Time and Date network synchronization not working properly, time is shifted 2 hours back, but this is propably related to v30 baseband when recomended is v20
- Blue LED press feedback of touch buttons is fixed in 20140629, now working even when the backlight turns off. It would be good to have adjustable buttons backlight, it burning my eyas at night
- In default camera there missing 5Mpix photo resolution, screen rotating in camera is laggy.
- Overal UI performance is smooth and other things woking good so far
I would like to thank developers, they done great job.
Regards

[PRJ] Linux and Android for CDMA Diamond (DIAM500)

Android 2.0 (Eclair) for CDMA Diamond (DIAM500)
Instructions
Put the files from my zip file (zImage, modules, startup.txt) in the root of your Internal Storage
From this xda post, download the latest XDANDROID build.
From the XDANDROID 7z file, extract system.sqsh, haret.exe, initrd.gz, calibration, conf/, media/, and (optionally) AndroidApps/ into the root of your Internal Storage
From stinebd's rootfs autobuild site, download the latest rootfs, rename it to rootfs.img, and put it in the root of your Internal Storage.
If you are updating from an earlier version of Android or just want to clear your settings, you can delete data.img from the root of Internal Storage.
Run haret.exe and boot
Notes
Touchscreen calibration values are stored in the ts-calibration file in the root of Internal Storage. To re-calibrate, delete the file and restart.
The "end call" button takes the phone in and out of sleep.
Android's "Menu" button is mapped to the top-left/Home button. The 5-way pad and the scroll ring both work.
Android's "Home" button is mapped to the power button on top of the phone.
Wi-Fi is working, although Linux sometimes crashes when WiFi is turned off.
If you want to try Android 1.6: From this Android build, extract haret.exe, initrd.gz, system.sqsh, calibration, calibration_diamond, and the AndroidApps/, conf/ and media/ directories into the root of your Internal Storage.
ChangeLog
3-23-2010:
Touchscreen double-tap issue should be gone, big thanks to eval- and especially bzo
HTC wired headset and 3.5mm headphones both work
3-8-2010:
Hardware 3D is re-enabled (accidentally disabled it)
3-6-2010 Update:
Bluetooth now works, big thanks to bzo
Touchscreen should be improved
Power-off now resets the phone instead of crashing
2-25-2010 Update:
When WiFi is turned off the phone shouldn't crash
2-19-2010 Update:
Power collapse now works, so power consumption should be much lower when the screen is turned off.
WiFi should work, as long as you use a new rootfs from stinebd's autobuild site. If you tried to use WiFi in the last ~2 weeks and it failed, WiFi still may not work with this new rootfs and kernel. See this post for solutions.
2-17-2010 Update:
Microphone works without having to make a call in WinMo
WiFi still isn't working, but I'll post a patched rootfs soon to fix it
2-10-2010 Update:
Hardware 3D acceleration is working under Eclair
Brought in makkonen's fixes for battery status--they're rough, but better than being stuck at 5% all the time
WiFi is not working at the moment, but I'll lean on the XDANDROID guys to get my fix in.
2-3-2010 Update:
Linux is now using much more of the phone's memory: 180MB vs. 103MB, thanks to some patches from the Hero and Droid Eris kernel source.
Touchscreen calibration is now supported with the Feb. 2 XDANDROID build, thanks to makkonen and phh.
1-27-2010 Update:
Stability should be much improved
A new touchscreen driver is included that is a big improvement over the old one, thanks to makkonen and phh. A calibration utility is coming soon. Until then, calibration is stored at the bottom of conf/eclair.user.conf, and you can put your WinMo calibration in there with this guide.
The USB product ID has been changed in the hope that ADB will work on Windows. Try it out and post back if it works.
1-22-2010 Update:
The power button (on top of the phone) is now mapped to Home, and holding it down will show apps running in the background
Sound, data, and WiFi should all be working
1-11-2010 Update:
Tested and working with Eclair
Deep sleep should be working better (use less power)
12-26-2009 Update:
Kernel improvements:
The speaker and earpiece now work (but not the microphone)
Screen backlight control works
Rootfs improvements:
Thanks to makkonen's RIL fix, cell data works in Android without having to end the connection in WinMo first
I made a change to /init that might help mjb94, hackman238 and others that have partitioned internal storage. If you were getting a "cannot mount" error on boot, let me know if this fixes it.
12-16-2009 Post
We do have a Google wave for Android--right now it's a cross between a wiki-status-report and chat room. I'm not sure how to give a link to a wave, but it's open to everyone and called "Android on HTC Windows Mobile Phones (Diamond, Raphael, Blackstone, Rhodium, Topaz)". If anyone wants a wave invite, PM me and I have a few to give out.
Enjoy Android, and if you need help or have questions, PM me or post here
Donations are greatly appreciated , or help finding an engineering job in San Diego!
thanks mr. pippy for all your work. my wife is happy that once the microphone works i wont want to buy a new phone!
wow
you are definately making progress on the diamonds android
Is there any chance of the mic working anytime soon? I know this isn't an fast paced process but I'm just so sick of wm.
Can someone invite me to Google Wave please?

Wow, you're getting a lot done in a short period of time, Thanks!
Will donate as soon as I can!
the boot stops on
"handhover: boot [htc_fb-1] -> real [ttyo]"
For the latest version, it will boot for me, but as soon as I have a 3g connection it seems to reboot any time I touch anything.
Boots up fine
Latest build boots up and seems to run fine for several hours but after playing with it, it seems to get more and more unstable. I went 10 hours with it plugged in sleeping and then unplugged it and used it moderately for about 3 hours before it crashed. Now it's crashed 3 times within minutes of each other. Good stuff though, can't wait until it's stable enough to use full time. Diamond has plenty of nuts to run it pretty good. Sure would be nice to have a dual boot phone. No reason to upgrade and get the best of both worlds...

Sorry, my kernels are only tested on DIAM500. The RAPH500 mtype (set in startup.txt) is 2182, you should have better luck with that. Also, this thread is for RAPH800 but there may be some RAPH500 people there.
mr pippy i still get the same error as in your other post with the failed to mount sd and the 2 partions, i tried reformatting

Did you reformat or repartition? Would you happen to be one of those people who has a partitioned card? Basically, I think the layout of your MC can have as many partitions as you want on it as long as mmcblkp1 (the first partition) is a fat32 partition with the needed files on it. There's also a little info on this problem on the wiki, lavender.t posted a solution that works 100% of the time if you're able to enter keystrokes.

Possible fix for microphone
I haven't tested this yet, but blast3r in irc tested a workaround for the microphone this morning and said it worked:
In WinMo, start a voice call and leave it connected while you open HaRET and boot into Linux. In Android, the microphone should now work for voice calls.

how to use:
safe way on version 2.5 is :

Version 2.1 gives reproducible blue screens with Win7 x64 SP1 at the first link when I confirm the superuser, or in further tries, when connect the USB cable.
Only uninstalling the apk helps to solve the problem.
A little off topic:
After UMS_mode.apk does not work for me, here is another way to access both memory cards in the P880 (and any other Android-Device) from Windows OS:
Install Total Commander (Shareware): http://www.ghisler.com
Install Total Commander Plugin "Android ADB" (Freeware): http://www.totalcmd.net/plugring/android_adb.html
Android device driver has to be installed too!
Through links, both SD-Cards appear with 3 differen pathes in the P880 operating system.
The external SD-Card has its mount point in (!) the internal SD-card:
Code:
Internal SD-Card:
\\\ADB\LG-P880\data\media\
\\\ADB\LG-P880\mnt\sdcard\
\\\ADB\LG-P880\sdcard\
2. external SD-Card:
\\\ADB\LG-P880\data\media\external_sd\
\\\ADB\LG-P880\mnt\sdcard\external_sd\
\\\ADB\LG-P880\sdcard\external_sd\

Wow!
This is the greatest thing created for this phone so far.
MTP is painfully slow, doesn't work with cars/stereos/etc, requires installing drivers everywhere I go, crashes all the time, doesn't allow access with a file path, and somehow caused my sd card to wipe itself three times in two weeks, so this was a major issue for me that was making me regret buying the phone.
Initially after installing this app (v3.0), I had to repeatedly toggle UMS/MTP mode and plug/unplug my phone from the computer several times before it finally started working, but now it's perfect.
If you have a paypal or flattr link, and I'll send something your way. Or put it on the Play Store so I can buy it and update
Thanks!
thanks

I can not confirm unfortunately.
I wanted to give the app still a second chance and have installed 3.0.
Then I restarted the phone, without starting the APP before.
Now it hangs on startup LG boot logo.
Even without the second SD card the same problem.
Any idea without factory reset or flashing KDZ?
My phone is still stuck in boot, but I have an access via adb shell to system.
Unfortunately I have no permission to access "/data"
Could anyone tell me the aplication name of this UMS-Tool under "/data/data" ?
I only found "com.noshufou.android.su" in classes.dex, but don't know wether this is right:
Code:
[email protected]:/data $ run-as com.noshufou.android.su
run-as com.noshufou.android.su
run-as: Package 'com.noshufou.android.su' is unknown
[email protected]:/data $
Ok, I guess it's not quite working perfectly for me now that I've used it a bit more, but I still love it.
1) it's really tricky to get it working initially. I almost always have to toggle it multiple times and sometimes reconnect the usb cable.
2) like someone else mentioned, it never remounts the SD card so I have to restart the phone to get it working again after I'm done.
I have not had any problems on boot like BudCord.
I'm running stock firmware 10f.
Anyone have v3 hosted any where else? I can't download from media fire.. no captcha support..
Tried stock browser, dolphin, and chrome..
Any chance to get it working on mac os x (10.6.8) ?
For the moment it is the only default i found with this phone : the lack of "connections" with Apple's OS :/
PS : I searched on the web and I found a solution for Mac OS X users : Android File Transfer (on the official website).
Sorry I can not the url because I am new on this forum.

Is this normal for Link2SD ? (mount warning)

Hi everyone. I've recently rooted my phone and installed Link2SD. Everything works fine. I can check the 2nd partition storage info in Link2SD. All apps are linked to sd etc..However when i power off and power back on my phone i get:
Mount warning: cannot boot 2nd partition automatically, quick reboot or re-create mount file something like that. When i do a quick reboot it fixes it until i power off my phone again.
Is this normal? (i read somewhere that Link2SD does this when you turn off your phone and its normal) If not what did i do wrong? Everything else works fine like i said.
Phone: Samsung Galaxy Mini (Dart) Stock firmware: Android 2.2 (thinking of upgrading to gingerbread)
Thanks in advance
Also quick questions:
1. i have an .apx file uploaded to dropbox. Through the dropbox app on my phone, I clicked it and I installed it on my phone through dropbox. Is the file saved to my sd card? or it just "Run"
2. when i try to type chinese, some characters show up as squares, like this character -> 不
why is that? (i tried a lot of input IME and they all only display some chinese not all)
3. you know the 4 bottom lights (touch light i think its called), sometimes they just stay lit on even when i turn off the screen or even when i'm charging it overnight. can i turn those off? sometimes it goes off, sometimes not...
Thank you very much in advance
this is not normal what you should do is
do a quick reboot
move every app again to internal
make partitions again
and then install link2sd and move apps
in short do everything again
----------
tap on the file again if it prompt you to install again without downloading then file is saved to your sdcard
else keep your finger tapped on file and then select export/save then select sdcard
---------------
you must not be having Chinese language in your mobile that
or try go keyboard with Chinese input (if available)
---------
what are you talking about 4 lights galaxy mini don't have any touch keys
+1 Thanks
I'm going to return the phone cause I did a factory reset and the chinese texts still seem bugged. (only a few are displayed and some show as squares). I'll retry Link2SD again when I get the new phone.
Factory reset apparently fixed the 4 touch keys for me. I mean the menu, home, back, search keys under the touch screen.
sometimes they would just stay lit 24/7 while charging lol..
you must be having carrier specific phone
originally it was locked. I unlocked it.
UPDATE:
turns out the Samsung Dart T499 doesn't have native chinese support So some chinese characters show and some don't ....
guess i could try looking for a custom rom ..
PS: this phone suks.
yeah I was right you have T-Mobile's dart that's why it is having touch keys
Yea its from T-Mobile in the USA. I'm in Canada so its Mobilicity. Though exact same phone just branded differently.
guess theres no fully working custom rom out for this phone. The only one i know of has camera problems
UPDATE:
Managed to figure out the (Mount Warning): mount 2nd partition on boot problem. I used Link2SD 1.7 on my SGH-T499 and everything works fine now... Newest version was giving me problems ...
I'm assuming the stock rom isn't fully working with the latest Link2SD version from Play Store..

Google Android Hidden Secret Codes

I found this in one of those sites where I use to "walk around"...
Think that no one bothers if I post it here.
*#*#4636#*#*
This code can be used to get some interesting information about your phone and battery. It shows following 4 menus on screen:
Phone information
Battery information
Battery history
Usage statistics

This code can be used for a factory data reset. It'll remove following things:
Google account settings stored in your phone
System and application data and settings
Downloaded applications
It'll NOT remove:
Current system software and bundled applications
SD card files e.g. photos, music files, etc.

By using Apex or Holo launcher:
Add to home screen > Shortcuts > Activities > com.lge.hiddenmenue > Hidden Menue...
Now you got a usefull link
Thanks for the "hidden menu" advice but I already knew about. This is just some kind of shortcut for that. Like I said, most part of the codes don't work on O4X, some people have other devices and might be useful... Now, take care what you do, It's your responsibility how you use them.

What is your problem @Arne_B ?
If you're having problems with some apps or settings of the latest version, its enough when you downgrade to the earlyest one and do the factory reset.
The phone will reset everything from the latest version.
After that, you can upgrade again to the latest having a clean install, the phone will overwrite the files from the earlier version.
problem
i playing with this hidden menu..and lastly my network mode only can use gsm only.:crying:.if change into wcdma its show no receiption..anyone know how to solve
Wcdma uses 3g. Are you sure your service provider have 3g coverage in your area?

Bootloade also contains critical info for starting the system and the kernel
Compare it with a pc`s BIOS; you can access its settings. But if you delete it the "kernel" won't know where to start executing its commands

Only the first works.
Tried some of them. Only the first work. None other. Guess they are indeed meant for other phones/older codes that no longer work.

Anyone using the new 1.17.40.1234 update please post your impressions and more particularly any bugs encountered.
Overheating, system slowdown and poor battery life have been mentioned by a number of users on other sites.
phone is overheating whenever I am using whatsapp or simply playing games. Is there anyway to rollback to W1.16.40.763 ?

Do you have 1.17.40.1234 or 1.17.40.1106 ?
I think that they might have corrected the issues with the 1234 version.
If you want to rollback just copy the update in the phone renaming it with a upper version, for example 1.18.40.763, remember that the procedure is at your own risk.

From the asus forum try this:
1. Download the firmware to your PC
2. Rename it to MOFD_SDUPDATE, enable the view extension of the files option and check that the file has only .zip, .zip.zip is not accepted and the procedure will fail. (you should have MOFD_SDUPDATE.zip)
3. Now format the sd card in windows with default settings (fat32)
4. Copy the MOFD_SDUPDATE.zip on the newly formatted sd card
5. Shut down your phone and insert the sd card
6. To boot in recovery mode you need to:
a. Hold the power button and volume down key all together
b. When the first Asus logo appears, release the keys.
7. Go to update from sd card and located the MOFD_SDUPDATE.zip
8. Then flash
9. You can format the cache partition if you like (recommended)
cheers

Tried this method. Doesnt work. Better use cyanogen mod and TWRP
Or try this:
1.0 [Preparation of your PC]
Download the ADB Tool HERE.
Click on the setup executable and type in "Y" for all the entries. (for the prompt on driver installation, simply click "Next", "Install", followed by "Finish").
1.1
Download the ASUS Software Update HERE.
Once completed, move the update file to C:\adb (where C: is the root drive where the ADB Tool was installed at).
2.0 [Preparation of Device]
Turn off your phone.
Press the "Volume Down" button followed by the "Power" button.
Keep holding the two buttons until the recovery screen appears, then release both AT THE SAME TIME.
Plug your phone into the PC.
On your phone, press the "Volume Down" button to select the option "apply update from adb".
Then, press the "Power" button once to select.
3.0 [Flashing]
Open the command prompt (Windows Key + R, type in "CMD" and enter).
Type in cd C:\adb (take note).
Then, type in adb sideload "downloaded file name".zip
4.0 [Finish]
Upon completion, make sure that the option "reboot system now" is selected on your phone.
Then, press the "Power" button once.
Is anyone using this update that is not experiencing any problems especially battery and heating?
No feedback anyone?

Seems that very few have updated to this firmware. I haven't and won't until a stable update comes out. In the meantime I'm happy with 1.16.40.763

I've only been using it for a week on my ZOOTD but I haven't noticed any overheating or significant loss of battery life
UPDATE: I don't know if it was caused by the update or not but I was on a call and the flashlight came on and Firefox and Settings opened.

Thanks. I wonder if the overheating and battery life problems only affects the Z00LD?

Judging by the fact that a new update has not been released for quite some time now, the next update *should and hopefully, be marshmallow.

No issues on my ze550kl, no heating issue, no major bugs on 1.17.40.1234. But it becomes warm when I don't close any game and tap home button but that's normal.
1.17.40.1234 came with Wi-Fi and carrier network improvements. I guess people from certain region might be facing heating issue due to changes in modem. I am from India. No issues for me
I can confirm there is an issue. I just got the phone and immediately updated it the latest firmware. I am getting abysmal battery life and the phone does get quite warm at times. I charged my phone last night and when I went to bed it was at 95% battery. When I woke up the battery was at 33%. I looked at the battery logs and the flashlight app and cell standby consumed 22% each. I have no clue why the flashlight app would be using battery for no reason.

Try using the auto-start manager and making sure the flashlight app does not start automatically then reboot the phone. High standby usage can sometimes be caused by a faulty microsd card. If you have one, try unmounting and then remountiing it and see if that helps. If it doesn't try reformatting it.
