And in a decent 3g area... no lte amongst the cows and corn fields and all... this is first phone like this in 6 years I have not used a extended battery for long life...
I use Automatic Task Killer...

What is? If you are referring to battery life, it's quite evident that you have charged the phone in the middle.
I usually have 40 % after one full day..
my first smart phone post
You mean show the battery life, or last 21 hours after a charge in the middle?

Jon, these are pretty sweet results, may i ask, how did you charge it the first time? Did you use it straight out of the box or charge it first?

OK. Will do, cheers. But I'm getting contrasting responses from other threads saying it doesn't matter as the battery is Lithium-ion and that the old type batteries are the ones that really require to be fully charged before use.

People really should stop spreading that full initial charge BS seriously, it's 2013!
Unless you buying an electric power drill with a nickel cadmium or nickel metal-hydride battery, there's NO reason to top it off before using it or to charge for 8 hours! You're not prolonging the life of your battery nor are you preventing a memory effect by fully charging it.

The battery technology used in these now does NOT need special first charge procedure. Just charge it however you want, and enjoy the phone!

You must have a defective phone or something wrong with your software. I already have an hour of screen on time and am still at 90%.
I am at CES right now, so probably it happens because of overloaded 4G... But previously the battery life was relatively bad anyway

I found this app though a bunch of searching. (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mattprecious.notisync)
I think it is close to getting us to seeing notifications from any app on the gear. So, far with things set up the way I have them it only vibrates/rings when I get something. It could be that I don't have hangouts installed on my watch (didn't want the google apps...didn't see a need).
Could someone with the google apps (and possibly the status bar installed via Aroma) test this out and see if it gets us further?
Only other thread I could find: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2560308 It mentions battery life issues. I'll test these out tomorrow.
Overnight the watch went down to 87% battery. I may try again tonight without it justvto see.
I can choose to get notifications on my gear from all of my phone apps without this.
Am I not understanding something with this thread?
I think I'm a bit lost here too. I can get notifications from any app on my phone without this app.

I wouldn't say badly. I'm able to spend an entire day at Disneyland (about 16 hours) getting/checking notifications using this and still have enough battery power for the 1 1/2 hour ride home. Sure you would get better battery life without it - but you would also get no notifications (non-touchwiz) without it too.

Hi
I don't know why my battery drains very fast.

Does Wakelock Detector (needs root - you didn't mention) give you any idea of what's draining it?
well, i see that you kept your phone screen on for about an 2 housr and 40 minutes in that 3 hour time frame. that will drain battery, and lots if you have your brightness set at a higher level.

I rebooted my phone into safe mode to see if the battery drainage is caused by an app.
Even in safe mode the problem still persists.

How did you know that I kept my phone screen on for 2 hours?
Because I actually did not use it allot.
I was driving for an hour without using my phone and within an hour the battery dropped from 41% to 30 % (on safe mode)

Leading up to the screenshot did you have your phone on nonstop? Because it's showing as awake.
Also it looks like you have poor signal, which will cause battery drain.
