[Q] Replace CWM with TWRP - Galaxy S III Mini Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi
I'd like to change the system partition on my S3 mini to the f2fs system, but CWM doesn't support it AFAIK. TWRP on the other hand does so I was wondering if and how it's possible to replace CWM with TWRP? (The S3 mini doesn't have a fastboot AFAIK, so I'm stuck)

This have been answered a lot of times so a quick search would have been enough.
Answer is that you just have to flash twrp in cwm and reboot to recovery.

How can you change it? I thought only KitKat ROMs could do that!

Yes, I know. The OP didn't mention on what ROM he was so I thought that it was doable on a stock one

Just curious: do recoveries (CWM, TWRP) need permission to be posted at all? Many new devices' forums start with a custom recovery thread and I wonder who should they ask permission from. Maybe @Dees_Troy (TWRP author)? But what about CWM? Aren't the images freely published in ROMs and on Jenkins?

Show us the difference between "compile" and "kang", will you? Sources are publicly licensed aren't they? Or else every single CM unofficial builds (previously also know as "kang") would be closed because they don't ask for permissions. And did @Dees_Troy say in any thread that "you can't use any file of mine"?
I'm trying to hold and be polite for as long as I can...

The latest version is 2.6.3.4 of TWRP. But since this an unofficial build, and the person that compiled this hasn't really shown any more interest, I doubt there will be a later update. With all that being said, I suggest the use of 4EXT recovery RC9 instead.
why unofficial.?

No there is a official TWRP 2.6.3.7 (Samsung Galaxy Note 3) and a unofficial TWRP 2.6.3.10 (Asus Eee Pad Transformer TF101), but bad enough our TWRP stayed at 2.6.0.0
But we have since a few days 4EXT Recovery 1.0.0.6 RC1.

You can not uninstall system apps. First: it make no sense, because after the next update they come back, second: your system partition is read only. Deactivate it and ready!

Recovery for J7 Prime

I am surprised after seeing that there are many roms available for j7 prime.....but it doesn't have a perfect RECOVERY yet.....twrp and blacked both recoveries doesn't support external storages like sdcard or OTG. Hoping that someone release a recovery soon in which all options are working.
