You can use "Pimp My Z1" from the google play, You can turn this option on over there.
Alternatively You can use separate app: d-h.st/mZl (add http in front)

Hello,
I switched on the Xperia Z of Samsung Galaxy S3 and miss on the first day of the great features such as S3:
- Stay Smart (facial recognition),
- Smart Alert (vibration when touching the smartphone if missed calls or messages are available),
- Silent, if you turn the device,
- Direct contact call when the phone to your ear
- The lockscreen I find horrible. You do not see missed calls or messages when you do not exactly click on the status bar and can otherwise not set shortcuts ...
Is there any third party apps that have this functionality?
I could only find for the Smartstay an alternative app.
Otherwise, the Xperia is really great, but Sony has really in software extreme catching up ...
Thanks for your help.
You can replace Smart Stay feature by using ISeeYou
Another Alternative.

Why do you want to make it brighter?
I think it wouldn't be good to change it as it could damage your led

I was also looking for a way to brighten up the Torch, This Helped, i just wish i could make that brightness work on Photo snap instead of turning on flashlight mode in camera
Download one of the following packages based on your interest.
Extreme Version – Torch Only → Click Here to Download
Medium version – torch, camera, flash, notification LED → Click Here to Download
Extreme version – torch, camera, flash, notification LED → Click Here to Download
Transfer the mod file to the root of your device’s SD card. (Just for convenience)
Now put your device into the recovery mode. For this:
Switch off your device and wait until proper shut down.
Power on the device and when you see your phone’s LED notification light turn Pink, (might be other colour based on device) start pressing either the Volume UP or Volume Down key a couple of times.
Install the mod file by clicking Install and selecting the zip file from the SD card.
Confirm and flash the mod file.
Reboot your device.
That’s it, now test the brightness levels of your LED using any Torch app from the playstore.
Note: If you want to revert back to the stock version download the below package and install using the same process.
Revert back to stock → Click Here to Download

I tried the Extreme version on Xperia Z stock based rom (PureX Z v1.0, Android 5.1), and it works, and the torch is much brighter now.
Before, for some reason, the LED on the device is so dim that it's pretty much useless.

thing is i like the medium ver but none of them apply to the camera shutter brightness. the only way it applies is if you go to camera and hit flashlight mode then take the picture or video. i would like it to automatically apply when i hit my camera button.

yeah i guess it won't work for the Extreme version as stated, I just want it for Torch, never really used Flash for taking pictures, so Extreme works well for me
Does this require the phone to be rooted?

Does this require the phone to be rooted? I understand the need for the file to be in the root of the sd card for ease but can I do this uprooted? Many thanks.
Hey! Recently I read some article about an app Discolight for Sony xperia SP, which is really great but it has some issues with missed calls notification, message notification etc.
Sony pushed out EXPERIMENTAL API for illumination bar.
Is there someone who knows what to do to make my xperia SP indicate my notifications with "tuttifruti" colours?
like in the picture?
Thanks!
Please ask in Q&A section. next time if you want to make a thread with a question, make it there.
delete it while you can. and you can find the same question in that section.

I think you can use UDisco to do such effects, I think it was called rainbow. But as for notification effects-I don't know.
This app also make separate color leds for xperia SP
"Led Music Effect" is valiable in playstore
Hello forum. I have a Sony Xperia Z3 compact now, and I have a few questions. (I use 4.4.4 kitkat, don't ask me why )) I have reasons.)
1. I updated camera extensions, such as "AR effect, Background Defocus" and they showed up among the apps. Their icons wasn't visible but after update, they appeared. How can I hide them again?
2. Is there any way of changing sound settings? For example when I used a dumb phone not a smart one, If I used it in silent mode, it wouldn't play any sounds loudly, it asked at first, like "the phone is in the silent mode, would you like to play sounds?" but Z3 compact doesn't ask such a question, which is really bad.
3. What are the optimal camera settings for manual mode? I was excited because it is 20.1 MP but my canon 8MP camera takes photos twice better.
4. Is it possible to change fonts?
5. Is is possible to get root access by flashing rooted firmware?
Hello,
Here I leave the NfcNci.apk modded in order to work even when the device is locked and screen is OFF
You don't have to worry about battery life, I have already tested it and it does not have any appreciable impact on it
IT MAY (SHOULD?) WORK WITH SONY XPERIA X TOO, though is untested (post here if it works for you)
Installation:
Download attached NfcNci.apk file
Overwrite it into /system/app/NfcNci.apk and chmod 0644 it
Delete /system/app/NfcNci/oat folder
Reboot or "svc power reboot" through ADB
Done

TESTED ON: Sony Xperia X Compact 34.2.A.2.69
UDPATE (22-08-2017):
-Now compatible with FTF build .206 (download NfcNci(.206).apk and rename it to NfcNci.apk)

Is it possible to have a white list of what tag will be processed when the screen is off?

I think there is no easy way to mod the system NFC APK to make it work like what you say. Instead, it would be possible to create an app that handles all NFC tags and override the functionality of those tags which aren't in the whitelist
Hi
Thanks for the mod.
I'm wondering if you've included support of taglost detection ?
And maybe : it is hard to have a mod for a detection on lock screen instead of "screen off" ?
For me a "screen off" detection is too annoying since my phone can be in contact with some NFC cards in my pocket/bag.
I was able to do it for android 5.x on my Z3 compact but it's a long time ago.. can't remember what I did back then

Hi,
I dont know what do you mean by "taglost detection", but this mod is based on the SONY's stock rom NFC app, so it should be included if it's also in the original app.
I think adding just on-lock-screen detection should be hard, you can follow the quick guide I wrote here: https://github.com/bamsbamx/NFCScreenOFF/blob/master/README.md
But keep in mind if you want just lock screen you should set .field static final NFC_POLLING_MODE:I = 0x2 instead of .field static final NFC_POLLING_MODE:I = 0x1
I cant test by myself that way because I am using AOSP rom right now... But will help you if you need

By default there's no tag lost detection.
The tag_lost detection allow to trigger action when the tag is removed, not only when the phone scan the tag.
For ex you can use this to set the phone in a particular state (commonly: car mode, desk mode, etc) while the tag is detected. When the tag is removed, you use the tag_lost trigger to get off the mode, or trigger any other action (with tasker for ex)
I just got my X compact, and still not rooted yep. At this time I'm trying to use it without root... but the nfc mod my push me to do it
If so I'll take a look at this and post here
Please support 34.3.A.0.238 ?
On my phone, introducing this will cause nfc to disappear.
