its not that moto isnt loved, or the bionic isnt a good phone, its that the bootloader is still locked which hinders developers and developer support
yea i know about the bootloader it sucks but i dont want to buy nexus just because its a new phone and OS well have to sit tight no choice
I honestly am happy with the bionic right now. I would like the galaxy nexus, but I much prefer to buy mods for my car than a new phone every other month. I am going to sit with the bionic for a little while and wait. Hell a quad core phone is already in development from HTC. If I keep buying new phone ill be a poor man. The bionic is so much better than the thunderbolt that I don't care one had an unlocked bootloader and the other one doesn't. The bionic is a great phone.

i do agree with u on the bionic being a great phone but Moto is always the same with the bootloaders dude if it didnt have it locked i would stay for it for a lonnnggg time but idk
Locked Bootloaders are only aren't the end of the world. If you wanted an unlocked bootloader, why didn't you get the LG Revolution because its unlocked. The fact is that the bionic is locked and already has more roms than the revolution which is unlocked.

Hey everyone,
I'm considering the Atrix HD as my next phone, but i can't stand how it has the AT&T log on the front like that. Does anyone have one that has tried removing it? if anyone has successfully removed it without damaging the appearance of the phone then I will definitely consider the Atrix HD. And please don't try to remove the logo for my sake and damage the appearance of your phone, this thread is just to see if anyone has already tried it on their own accord.
Thank you!
To my understanding, no you cant remove without damage. I have the Atrix 2 tho....

I honestly don't see what the big deal is, it's just a logo. I have no issues with it and can't understand why so many people do. It's an amazing device, don't let a logo be the deciding factor.

I have the Bell version and no logo on it. You can also turn off LTE on the Bell version. Are you thinking of buying it on contract or outright? If outright, look for one on the market place.

I would be getting it as an upgrade on an AT&T contract. I don't see the practicality in getting it outright because it was way more expensive.
And I will get over the logo ... but another factor other than the logo I almost forgot is that the Motorola update schedule fails. I had probably vowed earlier the same day of starting this thread that I would never get a Motorola phone again because their lack of updating is outrageous. How many phones do they have on ICS? One? My Atrix 4G was supposed to get ICS right about now but they changed the schedule to more or less say its up in the air whether we will get the update at all. So no doubt the Atrix HD is an awesome phone, Motorola makes some nice devices but their update policy has shaken my loyalty.

They seem to want to update phones after 2011 according to an article I read. They stated that their devices will receive the jellybean update or they will give you $100 to put towards one of the recently announced phones such as the razr m.

On the Verizon LG G2, there is a root status check and another in download mode if I restore to a stock image, will the status go back to unrooted for both?
I don't think that's been determined yet. Until it is I'm just doing a lot of reading and preparation

I am pretty sure it didn't when I went back to stock. Don't know now tho cuz I'm on another ROM.

It goes back to unrooted, if you use lgflash. I know it will show rooted, flash the stock file, go back to download it will say unrooted. I have done it a couple times already.

I have nothing to do with Verizon, or LG. I was up for an upgrade back when all the New Moto Phones came out, but was very disappointed in them, an someone pointed me to LG G2. Just an amazing phone.

I was just kidding I appreciate your information hands on info is 100 times better than reading reviews. LG is just new at the smartphone and needs to get recognized.

It is ok, I am just really happy with how this phone works, and how quick and smooth it is. Not to mention how quickly it boots up too.
I don't normally comment just to comment but I agree I came from an S3 to a Note 2 to an S4 all Samsung obviously and by far and away this is the best phone I've used in a very long time if ever. Blazing fast great screen good build quality and I love that it isn't locked down like the S4. I just switched 2 days ago as I was tired of fighting with ROMs and not being able to use an AOSP version. My g2 is considerably faster than the S4 overall.

Lol "fighting with ROMs". I feel you bro. You won't have to worry about that on the G2. Stock ROM is awesome and so is CM.
On the Motorola Defy however... let's not go there. You're lucky to have come across the G2.
I come from a galaxy s 3 as well and i have to admit the LG G2 is a beast of a device.

It will still say rooted in your about phone section in the settings menu. Luckily there is nothing wrong with my phone. But if there was i would just buy a new phone. I have had horrible luck with Verizons replacement phones.
But as far as i have seen there is no way to fix the "rooted " message in the settings menu.
Looks like we won't get Kitkat update.. they are giving 100$ off for people with atrix hd to buy moto x..

What do you guys think? Is that fair ?
I wish this deal were for upcoming 3rd gen Moto X, otherwise this is kinda useless for me.
Really need firmware not to be carrier specific. I remember reading that Motorola had KitKat ready for the Atrix HD and we were just waiting for AT&T to give it their blessing. I hope the trend for no contract phones will diminish or stop the carriers insisting on modifying the firmware.

Sucks. I had planned to stick with the Atrix HD for a while. I would've enjoyed running stock KitKat. Stock JB isn't really usable for me. I guess we should've learned from the past about Motorola/AT&T and updates when picking a new phone.
And of course having a KBBL would help a lot in getting the latest unofficial updates if one wanted to go down that route.
Here's some specs on the on5? http://www.phonearena.com/phones/Samsung-Galaxy-On5_id9820
What do you think?
That Samsung has 1.5 GB RAM and 8GB flash. I would get the Blu with 2GB and 16GB instead. However, if you have Amazon Prime you can get the Moto G4 Play for USD99 right now which IMHO is better that this Blu.
You're too late! The Blu R1 HD is no longer being sold and is supposed to be replaced by a newer model at some point.
Also, note that if you buy the Amazon Prime version of the Moto G, in return for a lower price you lose the option of being able to unlock the bootloader, get root, or flash custom roms. I would never buy a locked down phone like that.
On5 has 0 dev support, aside from TWRP. R1 has no real mods for it besides a ported ROM, but at least the guys here are (or at least seem to be) trying to get things done. The On5 doesn't even have its own subforum. If you want dev support and can find a place to buy an R1, I'd say get an R1.
Thanks guys. I wound up getting an LG Phoenix 2. Best Buy had it for $29 on Black Friday and couldn't pass on it based on reviews.

A relative has this phone and it's quite impressive for the price.
Not really sure on root/ROMs. I've been wondering what kind of support, if any, this Phoenix 2 has. I'm hesitant to tinker until I see a lot of feedback.

Almost bought one even tho I don't need it. But I'll feel pretty stupid if I slam my Blu in the car door like I did with my Moto G2.
