Stock Samsung ROM's use a different boot animation format than Android and therefore can't load the bootanimation.zip. To use it, either find a modified ROM that has been patched to load bootanimation.zip or use a AOSP ROM.

Yep. I learned that when I tried to apply a boot animation when my S3 was freshly rooted back in the day and I couldn't get any boot animations to work on it

How can we unzip this file? I keep trying but it's being weird about it.
[QUOTE=Original Android
Are you trying to unzip on your phone or computer?
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA App
Both. Neither work.
On my PC the zip wouldn't open with windows native zip support but 7zip had no problems.
HTH
Smjfosho did it on perpiss!
That's weird, all I did was extract it.

Installing to Droid 2 Global
So now that we have the system dumb and the extracted files. How do we install this version of Blur on other phones? I do apologize if this is obvious.

Could someone share the browser icon for the droid 3? I thought I would ask before I downloaded the zip just for one icon. Thanks.

AOKP BOOT ANIMATION
My phone was having a hard time playing the stock AOKP bootani smoothly so I decided to make my own...
Download Flashable zip (480x800)
http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?gxszabu34n7zin1]
Download bootanimation.zip for manual install
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/55201903/AOKP_NEWBOOT/bootanimation.zip
Let me know what you think... and I greatly appreciate it when you hit the thanks button
nice work
Tried flashing the first file. Devil kernel recovery told me that the file is bad and won't install.

Did manual install, works perfectly smooth! Nice job, thanks man!! Would still be cool to incorporate a little Glitch-logo action as well? That's just my opinion though!

Yeah sorry about that. I just fixed the bad zip and it flashed OK on my phone. If someone else could confirm this I would appreciate it.

Yes. This should work for your phone or any phone running AOKP with a screen resolution of 480x800.

flash in recovery or extract bootanimation.zip and copy to /system/media
v2 fixes the loop. v1 didn't loop due to an error in the desc.txt. this version is considered final
Code:

Is it supposed to just be the X? I flashed it on CM9 RC1 and it is just the picture in the first post.
I think it only is the X, but it does a cool fade in at the beginning. For what's it' worth I like it.
Do it work in x10?

The other one was marked a WIP...it sounded to me like theirs wasn't working....mine was, so I started my own thread
**I posted an updated version that fixes the animation loop. the first version didn't loop at all due to an error in the desc.txt

the resolution is exactly the same...my x10's battery is currently drained, so I can't say for sure, but I don't see why not!
I just installed it on my Nexus S, works flawlessly.
Just something I noticed that's very small, when the animation is about to start again there's a slight stop and go, for like a split second. other than that, everything else is amazing.
Thanks
link is broken. can u post new one?
Now that was a great bootanimation: simple, unique, Nexus.
This was extracted from an early build of jellybean and I think is a really nice android styled Emoji keyboard. I hate iPhone Emoji.

Install the apk. Use a root explorer and put the lib file in /system/lib. Change its permissions to 0644 or rw-r-r. Reboot. Then while in texting just select the alternate keyboard called Emoji input and when done hit cancel to go back to default keyboard.

If you need any help let me know. Also the other person should have a jellybean android phone or an iPhone.

This is just a flashable .zip package of all recoveries for SGS3 in flashable .zip packages.
Reason for this is because some roms only flash in certain roms/mods/ect..

INSTALLATION
1. Download the MultiRecoveries.zip file
2. Boot into recovery.
3. Flash the MultiRecoveries.zip once
4. You will then have a folder in /sdcard/ called "RECOVERIES", inside that folder is all 4 recoveries in flashable form.

There some recoveries are aroma incompatible, also some android 4.3 ports do overwrite recovery.
If you think theres no development report the thread and let admin decide.
I do not know English, use Google translator
I happened
no change
Can you put a picture as it is supposed to look?
